Mac OS Tahoe 26.0 (25A354) Sound Glitches When opening the simulator app
Hey there, I just upgraded to Mac OS Tahoe ,son an apple MacBook Pro 2019 16inch. am using IntellijIDEA and Flutter to develop a mobile app which I test on the simulator app running iOS 18.4 . the issue: when I start the simulator app. ( while in the loading phase and in the operation phase as well ), the audio from an already open YouTube tab on safari (this happens on chrome browser as well). the sound glitches and becomes Noise. a fix I found online is to kill the audio deamon on Mac OS, This works using the command: "sudo killall coreaudiod" this kills the audio process, (while the emulator is operational), then the macOS restarts the audio deamon then the audio works fine alongside with the simulator being open. I just want to ask is there a permanent fix for this? is Apple working on a fix for this in the upcoming update?

Web inspector only works with HTTPS contexts in iOS simulator
Up until some point relatively recently, I have been able to use Safari's web inspector to connect to the iOS simulator in order to debug our web application in development at http://localhost:8088. Now, the web inspector still OPENS, but it opens in a broken state. The context is available to select from Safari's "Develop" menu: Develop > "iPhone 16 Pro (Simulator)" > "localhost - login". It appears under the Safari heading if I have navigated to the web app in the browser, or under the Expo heading if I am accessing it through the webview in our React Native wrapper app. When I select it, the web inspector window does appear. However, once it opens, the Elements pane is empty, the Console pane is empty, expressions entered into the console are not evaluated, there's no content in Sources, Network, Storage, etc. Important notes: This broken state happens at http://localhost:8088 as well as http://127.0.0.1:8088, and it seems that the insecure context is the issue. The web inspector DOES work for HTTPS sites. If I navigate to, e.g., https://example.com in the simulator and connect the web inspector, everything works fine. The web inspector also works fine in Safari on macOS (OUTSIDE the simulator) when accessing non-HTTPS sites. It's only a problem for non-HTTPS sites when connecting to the simulator. A coworker has the same problem, so it is not isolated to my machine. I would enable TLS locally as a workaround, but this web app is very complex, and I know from experience that it is very difficult for various reasons to set it up properly for our project in development, and it will take significant non-trivial work to do so. So... Why is this happening? Is this expected behavior? Is there a way that I can debug my site on localhost without HTTPS?

How to install self signed certificate to iPhone simulator running iOS 18.5?
I am trying to communicate with the backend of my project. So I need to install the certificate into the simulator. I have the .pem file but when I drag-dropped it into the simulator, I got the error "Simulator device failed to complete the requested operation.". The simulator is an iPhone 16 Pro running iOS 18.5. Is there any way to install the cert to my simulator? PS: I can't use Apple Configurator or MDM because I am using the office's Mac. And I can't install anything there. So I can only do it manually.

iOS Simulator in Xcode 26.1 makes ReportCrash process run at 60-160% of CPU
My MBP M1 Pro gets really hot. iOS 26.1 Simulator in Xcode 26.1 makes ReportCrash process run at 60-160% of CPU shows Activity Monitor. MacOS 26.1. I've reported this via Feedback Assistant: FB20918609. Is there a way to quit this process permanently? When I Force Quit this it opens again immediately. Only way to stop it is to quit Simulator. But then again, I need to use the Simulator.

Xcode 26.x Frequently Freezes During Breakpoint Debugging with Simulator
When I use Xcode 26 (0.1, 1) for debugging and hit a breakpoint, using "step over" causes the debugger to freeze at a random line of code. Clicking "Pause program execution" indicates that the line is being executed, but the breakpoint never exits, seemingly causing a freeze. The application on the simulator also becomes unresponsive. However, when I do not use breakpoints, my program runs smoothly, and debugging on a physical device does not cause any freezes. This issue only occurs with the simulator. I am using Xcode on Apple Silicon, and due to some third-party SDKs that depend on Rosetta, our app can only run on the Rosetta simulator. We did not encounter this issue when using Xcode 16.x for simulator debugging. The current situation with Xcode 26.x significantly reduces our development efficiency. What could be causing this, and is there a solution?

Simulator is not working.
Hi, I am a UI designer and a total newbie with coding, so I have been using AI in Xcode to do all my coding for my personal project. Everything was working fine until this morning, when I tried to run my app in the simulator (I didn't even change any code from the last time I ran the simulator) and now the simulator is crashing and freezing and I have been trying to fix it with the AI recommendations, but it seems way too complicated for me to handle even with AI's help. I feel like I need to talk to an expert and guide me out of this hole. Please help. Thank you!

Simulator since XCode update completely broken
Since one of the last updates of XCode, there are two very annoying bugs in the simulator that just don't get fixed. What's going on Apple? You kill my productivity. There is a red bar reading "rdar" and some numeric string at the top. You can get rid of it by going to Settings -> Developers -> Zoom -> Larger Text (then change it back). Took a while to find that. I have a German laptop with a QWERTZ keyboard layout. Now when I type, it somehow sends keys from an US keyboard to the simulator. Since I don't have the labels, I don't know what the hell I'm typing. Very frustrating. Please fix this.

Static library links on device but fails on iOS Simulator
I’m working on an iOS workspace with: a static library project: M800SDK a test app project: TestAppObj I was able to build M800SDK for iOS Simulator on Apple Silicon as a simulator static library, and I also verified the architectures in the produced .a file. However, when I link the app target against that simulator build and try to build TestAppObj for iOS Simulator, I get the following linker errors: Undefined symbols for architecture arm64: _OBJC_CLASS_$_TokenMngr clang++: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 Additional context: The library links and works correctly when building the app for a physical iPhone. And the public header TokenMngr.h is found correctly by the app target. The app target is compiled as Objective-C++ where needed. The library is linked in the app target under “Link Binary With Libraries”. Could you help me understand: Is it possible to run on iOS Simulator ? the recommended way to package and consume this library for iOS Simulator on Apple Silicon? Also I am aware i can also build the library for : Any iOS Simulator Device (arm64, x86_64) And specify that on Build Phases in Link : Link Binary With Libraries adding the .a Before i do that i ensure the .a is arm64, x86_64 using the command : lipo -info libM800SDK.a end it returns : Architectures in the fat file: libM800SDK.a are: x86_64 arm64 However, even after confirming those architectures and linking the library to the app target, the app still does not link correctly for iOS Simulator. In some cases, Xcode reports errors suggesting that the build is targeting iOS Simulator, but that one of the linked binaries was built for iPhoneOS instead. This is where I am confused: I understand that lipo -info only shows the CPU architectures present in the library, but not whether a given arm64 slice was built for iPhoneOS or for iOS Simulator

KeyChain Sharing with App Extensions
Hi, We are trying to use Apple Security API for KeyChain Services. The motive is to store some sensitive data in the KeyChain. Our app has Network extensions enabled which share a common app group and we want to access the data stored in the KeyChain from the extensions as well. Specifically we were exploring the SecItemAdd, SecItemCopyMatching etc family of APIs. We tried a few methods: Using the common App Group : Specifying the common app group in the "kSecAttrAccessGroup" field of the KeyChain query, allowed us to have a shared keychains for different apps (targets) in the app group, but this did not work for extensionsEnabling the KeyChain Sharing capability : We enabled the KeyChain Sharing Ability in the extensions and the app target as well, giving a common KeyChain Access group. Specifying this in the kSecAttrAccessGroup field also did not work.We tried specifying "$AppIdentifier.KeyChainSharingGroup" in the kSecAttrAccessGroup field , but this did not work as wellThe error code which we get in all these 3 cases when trying to access the Keychain from the extension is error code 25291 (errSecNotAvailable). The Documentation says this error comes when "No Trust Results are available" and printing the error in xcode using the status says "No keychain is available. You may need to restart your computer". The online Documentation says that it is possible to share keychain with extensions, but by far we are unable to do it with the methods suggested.Do we need any special entitlement for this or is there something we are missing while using these APIs?If this is possible Is there any internal/open source wrapper for Keychain APIs, that we can use?We will really appreciate help in solving this issue!Thanks!

Sharing files from Finder to Simulator doesn't work
I'm trying to copy some files from the Finder on macOS 14 to several Simulator instances running iOS 16 and 17. When I right-click the file in the Finder, I can select Share > Simulator, then a share dialog pops up where I select the relevant Simulator and click on Send. According to this official help topic, the Files app should open allowing me to choose the destination, but instead nothing happens and the shared file is nothing to be seen. What's the issue?

Unable to download latest version of iOS simulator
Hello, When trying to download the latest version of iOS simulator on xCode i get this error: Download failed. FileAttributeKey.protectionKey's value is always nil in Simulator
It seems like this is not supported in the Simulator because when I run my Unit tests and I try to read protection key-value the value is always nil, even if I set the data protection level when I write the file. On device this key returns the expected value. Is it possible to have the simulator support the data protection classes to run my unit tests? FYI Im testing on iOS

Application crashes referencing callAsyncJavaScript
When referencing WebKit’s function callAsyncJavaScript, any iOS app crashes immediately on startup when running in simulator. On device, it does not crash. The error message is: dyld[9892]: Symbol not found: _$sSo9WKWebViewC6WebKitE19callAsyncJavaScript_9arguments2inAF17completionHandlerySS_SDySSypGSo11WKFrameInfoCSgSo14WKContentWorldCys6ResultOyyps5Error_pGcSgtF Furthermore, this only happens for some simulators. With Xcode 16.3, it’s simulators 18.0 and prior. With Xcode 16.4 RC1 it includes simulators iOS 18.5 and 18.4 but works correctly on earlier versions of simulator. The reproduction path is easy. Example file attached. This used to work about 3 weeks or a month ago, which is perplexing. As a workaround I replaced the function with evaluateJavaScript which does not crash, but that is not the desired method to use for us. Unstable behavior of xcodebuild -showdestinations
Hi, I am having an issue with xcodebuild -showdestinations command. Steps to reproduce: Create a new iOS application project in Xcode or use an existing one. Navigate to this project in a terminal. Run xcodebuild -project 'your-project-name.xcodeproj' -scheme 'your-scheme' -showdestinations What I expect: All destinations available in the Xcode UI should be listed. What I get: It depends. For new projects, I consistently get only generic platform destinations and my connected physical device. When I run the same command on an older project, I sometimes see all the expected destinations. It seems to be a roughly 50/50 chance between the two outcomes. Is there a way to get consistent results from xcodebuild -showdestinations? What can I do to ensure all destinations are listed reliably? MapPolyline and MapPolygon not visible on simulator
My app uses SwiftUI Map and draws Markers, MapPolyline and MapPolygons over it. These all work on actual devices. On the iOS 26.0.1 Simulator running on macOS 26.0.1 Polylines and Polygons do now show. Do others see the same thing?

Choosing Minimum Deployment Targets
My app uses SwiftData so I need at least iOS 17 as the minimum deployment target. When I select iOS 17 in the dropdown it selects iOS 17.6 as the target. However, the newest simulator available is iOS 17.5. Should I set my minimum deployment target to 17.0, 17.5, 17.6, or something else?

Specifying this in the kSecAttrAccessGroup field also did not work.We tried specifying "$AppIdentifier.KeyChainSharingGroup" in the kSecAttrAccessGroup field , but this did not work as wellThe error code which we get in all these 3 cases when trying to access the Keychain from the extension is error code 25291 (errSecNotAvailable). The Documentation says this error comes when "No Trust Results are available" and printing the error in xcode using the status says "No keychain is available. You may need to restart your computer". The online Documentation says that it is possible to share keychain with extensions, but by far we are unable to do it with the methods suggested.Do we need any special entitlement for this or is there something we are missing while using these APIs?If this is possible Is there any internal/open source wrapper for Keychain APIs, that we can use?We will really appreciate help in solving this issue!Thanks!

Sharing files from Finder to Simulator doesn't work
I'm trying to copy some files from the Finder on macOS 14 to several Simulator instances running iOS 16 and 17. When I right-click the file in the Finder, I can select Share > Simulator, then a share dialog pops up where I select the relevant Simulator and click on Send. According to this official help topic, the Files app should open allowing me to choose the destination, but instead nothing happens and the shared file is nothing to be seen. What's the issue?

Unable to download latest version of iOS simulator

FileAttributeKey.protectionKey's value is always nil in Simulator
It seems like this is not supported in the Simulator because when I run my Unit tests and I try to read protection key-value the value is always nil, even if I set the data protection level when I write the file. On device this key returns the expected value. Is it possible to have the simulator support the data protection classes to run my unit tests? FYI Im testing on iOS

Xcode 16.3 not working on MacOS 15.4.1
I just updated macOS to 15.4.1 and downloaded the latest version Xcode (16.3), and the simulator is not loading at all? Is this a common issue between Xcode 16.3 and macOS 15.4.1 or is it just me? I tried all the fixes I found online and it is just no working for me. Can someone please help me? Thanks!

Application crashes referencing callAsyncJavaScript
When referencing WebKit’s function callAsyncJavaScript, any iOS app crashes immediately on startup when running in simulator. On device, it does not crash. The error message is: dyld[9892]: Symbol not found: _$sSo9WKWebViewC6WebKitE19callAsyncJavaScript_9arguments2inAF17completionHandlerySS_SDySSypGSo11WKFrameInfoCSgSo14WKContentWorldCys6ResultOyyps5Error_pGcSgtF Furthermore, this only happens for some simulators. With Xcode 16.3, it’s simulators 18.0 and prior. With Xcode 16.4 RC1 it includes simulators iOS 18.5 and 18.4 but works correctly on earlier versions of simulator. The reproduction path is easy. Example file attached. This used to work about 3 weeks or a month ago, which is perplexing. As a workaround I replaced the function with evaluateJavaScript which does not crash, but that is not the desired method to use for us. Unstable behavior of xcodebuild -showdestinations
Hi, I am having an issue with xcodebuild -showdestinations command. Steps to reproduce: Create a new iOS application project in Xcode or use an existing one. Navigate to this project in a terminal. Run xcodebuild -project 'your-project-name.xcodeproj' -scheme 'your-scheme' -showdestinations What I expect: All destinations available in the Xcode UI should be listed. What I get: It depends. For new projects, I consistently get only generic platform destinations and my connected physical device. When I run the same command on an older project, I sometimes see all the expected destinations. It seems to be a roughly 50/50 chance between the two outcomes. Is there a way to get consistent results from xcodebuild -showdestinations? What can I do to ensure all destinations are listed reliably? How do I install the iOS 26 beta 2 simulator?
I can see that iOS beta 2 was released yesterday. I'm not running the beta yet on my actual iPhone, but I wanted to see if an issue I reported in beta 1 was fixed. Is there a way to update my iOS 26 simulator for beta 2? Usually, there's a new Xcode download that includes the new simulator, but it looks like the most recent Xcode beta release was June 9.

Still getting "Unable to boot the Simulator" in beta 2
I've tried deleting and reinstalling the beta deleting and re-adding the iOS support deleting and re-adding all the simulators clearing DerivedData and CoreSimulator/Caches rebooting waiting a little while and rebuilding Nothing works. Anyone else had any success?
