[iOS 26 Beta] event.target.value is always empty — only from specific script domains
Hey everyone, After installing iOS 26 beta, I started noticing unexpected behavior in our input event handlers. Specifically, when users type into an field, event.target.value is always an empty string — but only when the JS file is loaded from a specific domain (e.g., t1.daumcdn.net). The exact same code works perfectly when hosted on other domains like t2.daumcdn.net or search1.daumcdn.net. 👉 I created a demo here: 🔗 https://codepen.io/bzasklcu-the-sans/pen/rNXogxL The scripts loaded from each domain are 100% identical (apart from the top-level selector). Before iOS 26 beta, this worked fine. I suspect this is related to ITP or some new cross-origin behavior in Safari, but I’d love to know if anyone else is running into this — or if someone knows a workaround. Thanks!

Suggestions for OAuth2 in Swift
Hello! I have a few questions about integrating an OAuth2 API into my Swift application. I am using this API to access user data from the website (users will authenticate themselves within the app). I have seen other apps use this API in the way that I am describing it so I know that it is possible. However, I am not sure how to implement it. Are there any recommended ways to use an OAuth2 API in my application? The API that I am using does not specifically say that it supports PKCE. However, I have heard from some sources that it does. If it does not support PKCE, how do I still create a secure app infrastructure that will pass App Store Review? At a more basic level, what is the difference between OAuth2 and PKCE? What should I use in my app? Are there any resources to learn a little bit more about these protocols so that I understand them better? Thanks!

Videos keep refetched with loop
Hello there, For a video like this <video src="blob:safari-web-extension://***" autoplay="" loop="" style="position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; width: 100%; height: 100%; object-fit: cover; z-index: -1;"></video>, no matter if its local or remote, blob or mp4 files, is constantly being reloaded (refetched? revalidated?) if the loop tag is added. I can confirm there is actual constant traffic from the server based on my server logs. I am running iOS/macOS 26.

iOS26 Safari rendering bug even on latest beta 3
I am testing stuff on a website, and it worked well on any mobile browser till iOS18. Now that I am testing iOS26, even with the latest BETA (3) everything works smoothly on any other mobile browser but Safari. Previously I had the bug, which now has been patched, for status-bar, which was flickering too, but popover and page issue seems still there. I have persistent popover and ajax navigation, and both are rendering with bugs and fouc while view/page changes. Example: If I have an element which must stay on its place and its width is 100vw: while page changes it blinks, shrinks, flicker and jumps on rendering, while it simply must stay as is.. Animations and page transitions work smoothly on Chrome mobile (latest iOS 26 beta 3) , while breaking on Safari. I did open a feedback FB18328720, but seems no one caring. Any idea guys? ** Video of the bug (which is huge!) : ** https://youtube.com/shorts/rY3oxUwDd7w?feature=share Cheers

Would Web based SPA mobile application be approved by Apple
Hi, we are trying to move an existing application to a Web based SPA architecture with majority of the screens written in JS opening in a webview and using native bridges for the Hardware components. Before proceeding ahead, we just wanted to be sure that these kinds of applications are generally approved by Apple or not. If not, what are the guidelines to be followed if one wants to create an SPA application for iOS. PS: The content that will be served in web view would be controlled and hosted within the organisation domain and whitelisted for the mobile app only.

Safari Is Unusable
I have had zero luck anywhere else and it’s at this point infuriating. February 23rd of this year I submitted a ticket in Feedback regarding how Safari for me has been broken. I can’t load any website at all, I have cleared cache, data, you name it. I have reset the phone after doing so and as I type this today on a brand new iPhone 17 Pro Max it still doesn’t work. Every single app that prompts a Safari window to sign in also doesn’t work and crashes just as Safari the app does. Sometimes I get a message that pops up that says “Webkit encountered an internal error” before it crashes. I can’t provide a screen recording or screen shots because Safari just crashes. I genuinely don’t know what to do or where to go for an answer and i’ve submitted seven updates to my open Feedback ticket since February 23rd 2025, spanning months from that original date and yet no change or help has came from it. I am clueless on how to even begin to go about fixing it and agitated because it’s been so long, so many other apps effected by this, even on a brand new device Safari still does not work for me. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated I used to have a 15 Pro Max but now on the 17 Pro Max and throughout the entire time i’ve been on the developer beta. Maybe that is the issue i’m unsure because now i’m just on iOS 26 so I don’t know if it’s just stuck like this forever. Again any help would be appreciated. I have not went physically to Apple yet to get this solved it‘s been a last resort, considering my options I might have to clear time to go. I’ve been using Chrome ever since this issue.

Performance of Web View inside of iOS shell
We are working on an internal enterprise iOS application which we need to host a pretty complex web page inside. We have been reading regarding the WKWebView and how it performs inside of iOS shell, but there is no real data on what are the limitation of the WKWebView in terms of memory for the hosted Web Page. Let's say we could measure our iOS app before the WKWebView is launched and after it is launched. We see that the memory consumption of the web page loaded into WKWebView is X mb. How would we know that iOS would allow an app with such webpage loaded into WKWebView and won't terminate the app which the web page is loaded. Is there any documentation regarding on what is the maximum allowed memory for the web page which is hosted inside of WKWebView? And another question, for the Enterprise Developer Program are there any ways to increase the limit of the memory a specific iOS app is allowed to consume before it is terminated from iOS device due to low memory warning from iOS?

Webview In-App Browser Microsoft Login Redirection Not Working
Hello, We received a rejection on one of our IOS applications because we were doing Microsoft MSAL login through the user's browser. The representative recommended that we use Webview to do in-app logins. However when we tried to handle the custom app uri redirection (looking like myapp://auth/), Webview does not seem to send the user back to the application. Does anyone have a fix for this? Thanks!

WKWebView and WebAuthN question
After reading several posts I see that I need to add the "com.apple.developer.web-browser.public-key-credential" capability to my macOS app in order to get it to work. So my noob question is where do I request this capability? Can I as a developer request it or does the Account owner need to request it? Once approved, how do I add it to my app's capabilities? Thanks for your patience

I have a question about Safari running in the background on iOS and iPadOS.
I coded two demo websites as follows (both written in NextJS): Website 1: I coded an interval counter that increments every 1 second. Website 2: I used the MediaRecorder API (described in the WebKit documentation: https://webkit.org/blog/11353/mediarecorder-api/). In the ondataavailable function, I periodically send a blob (once every 1 second) to my server. In the backend, I coded a POST API to upload this blob. I noticed that with website 1, the interval doesn't work when I run Safari in the background, even on iOS and iPadOS. However, website 2 works, meaning it still calls my API normally (I tried running Safari in the background for about 1-2 hours and it worked). So, does this mean Apple allows native APIs like MediaRecorder and its callbacks to run in the background?

Safari Low Power Mode Video Playback Issue
Hello Friends, This is my first post so would love any suggestions on how to make posts here. So I have a shopify widget which is type of clone for Instagram stories, with videos but I noticed some issues where my videos are kind of unresponsive or just shuts down. Below is the screen shot of the issue: This problem I noticed on iPhone 11 Pro on clients phone, the IOS version is below 26. Some times my iPhone 13 also faces same issue but only when battery is low and multiple heavy apps are opened. Attached a code block also: {validStories.map((story) => { const videoUrl = extractVideoUrl(story.sv?.[0]?.m); const storyThumbnail = story.tu && story.tu.length > 0 ? story.tu : null; const videoThumbnail = story.sv?.[0]?.m?.[0]?.t && story.sv[0].m[0].t.length > 0 ? story.sv[0].m[0].t : null; const thumbnailUrl = storyThumbnail || videoThumbnail; const hasThumbnail = !!thumbnailUrl; const isPlaying = playingVideoIds.has(story.i); const shouldRenderWrapper = hasThumbnail || isPlaying; return ( <div key={story.i} className="ins-story-item" onClick={(e) => { handleActiveStoryChange(story.i, e); handleActiveVideoId(story.i); }} style={{ position: "relative", zIndex: 1 }} > {shouldRenderWrapper && ( <div className="ins-story-circle-wrapper" style={{ position: "relative", overflow: "hidden" }} > {hasThumbnail && !isPlaying && ( <img src={thumbnailUrl} alt={story.t} className="ins-story-image" onError={() => { console.log( `[Story ${story.i}] Thumbnail failed to load: ${thumbnailUrl}` ); }} /> )} <video src={videoUrl} className="ins-story-video" autoPlay={true} muted playsInline loop onLoadedData={() => handleVideoPlaying(story.i)} onPlaying={() => handleVideoPlaying(story.i)} onError={(e) => { console.log(`[Story ${story.i}] Video error`, e); }} /> </div> )} {story.t !== "New Collection" && ( <span className="ins-story-title">{story.t}</span> )} </div> ); })} </div> {activeStoryId && <StoryModal />} </>```

Duplicate Smart App Banners in Safari when App Is Installed
Issue: On Safari, two Smart App Banners appear for the same webpage when the iOS app is installed. Cause: • Banner 1: Native Apple Smart App Banner, automatically triggered by Safari via AASA / Universal Links. • Banner 2: Smart banner injected by a third-party SDK (Branch.io). • Both operate independently, resulting in duplicate banners. Finding: Safari’s native Smart App Banner behavior is system-controlled and cannot be disabled programmatically using web rules or JavaScript while Universal Links are enabled. Question: Is this behavior expected by design? Is there any Apple-supported way to suppress the native Smart App Banner when using a third-party banner, or is the recommended approach to rely on only one banner system?

Folder-level image access permissions for browser-only web apps in iOS Safari
We are developing a mobile-first, browser-only web application that requires users to upload 20–200 images stored inside a single folder (for example, a merchant product directory). On iOS Safari: window.showDirectoryPicker() is not supported. is not supported. File System Access API is not available. Users must manually multi-select images from the Photos picker. This creates significant friction for bulk upload workflows. We are NOT requesting unrestricted file system access. We are asking whether a privacy-preserving, user-granted folder-scoped permission model is being considered for web applications. For example: User explicitly selects a folder. The web app receives scoped access only to that selected folder. Access is session-bound and revocable. No background or global storage access is required. Questions: Is folder-level access for web apps being considered for iOS Safari? Does installing a PWA provide any enhanced file access capability? Are there recommended best practices for handling bulk image uploads in browser-only iOS applications? Is there any roadmap alignment with the File System Access API standard? Our goal is to remain browser-only and maintain strict user privacy while improving usability for high-volume image workflows. Any clarification on intended platform direction would be appreciated.

With iOS in German language, Safari inserts the wrong decimal separator in number inputs
When setting the language in iOS/macOS to German (or other languages with “,” decimal separator) and number format to “1.234.567,89” in iOS 26.2, 26.3 and 26.4 Beta, Safari inserts the wrong decimal separator in elements. It should use the local German decimal separator comma “,” instead it uses the english/international period “.” Here is a screenshot of iOS 26.2 when visiting a website with just 2 number inputs in Safari: <input type="number"> <input type="number" value="5.6"> It behaves the following way: On the first input, enter a number with decimals like “12,34”, clicking “,” on the onscreen-keyboard, a “.” instead of a “,” is added. The number then is formatted in international/English: “12.34”. The input set programatically shows the right decimal separator for German: "5,6". But deleting the “,” and pressing “,” on the onscreen-keyboard again adds a dot instead of a comma and shows the number in international/english: “5.6”. The same issue also happens on desktop Safari on MacOS 26.2 and newer and iOS apps using webviews, also since iOS 26.2. How to use the correct decimal separator in html number inputs for the user selected language in iOS/macOS on iOS 26.2 and newer versions? Is this maybe a bug? This was working correctly for iOS 26.1 and older:

WebView permission
Hi, I'm using a webview in Swift, where I load an html file locally. Basically I have an angular project built and loaded directly into my app bundle. The webview requires the use of the camera. I request permissions via and javascript, the pop-up appears, I accept the permissions and the app works correctly. Only that after a certain number of seconds, the permissions are requested again. It's as if the webview doesn't cache the accepted permissions. Is this normal behavior?

I saw all cookies are blocked in CORS requests. We are not able to check the auth session in source domain. Are there anyway to bypass this without user interaction? benefitier.com -> source.com
