I updated to the IOS 18 Beta and my Apple pencil won’t work on my device at all. I detach and reattach it and it recognizes its power level but it won’t write or highlight.

I have the same issue. Pencil only charges to 5% and takes 5x the amount of time to charge 1% then it did beofre I updated. Emailed Tim Cook's public email account and got a phone call back from his office. Very nice and scheduled a phone call with a senior engineer team. He called again later and said they could only help if I was running 10.2.1 and not a beta version of 10.3. Ordered a converter to charge from the wall, they want to hear back if the pencil charges from that so they can narrow down their search for the bug.

Using Apple Pencil's Double Tap Gesture within your app, which is not a drawing app, allowed? For example, trigger an action within the app? After reading Apple's Human Interface Guidelines, it still seems to be somewhat ambiguous. Thanks in advance.
As a web developer i would like to know, if apple pencil is connected to device in safari(using JavaScript). And understand when apple pencil is disconnected.
Dear apple, I want to ask that if we can scribble in Korean ?
Being able to scroll with the Pencil no longer works in 9.3 so rolled it back to 9.2 and it works again. Hopefully a bug.
Inside my playground I have implemented a drawing canvas using PencilKit where you could use your fingers to draw, but also an Apple Pencil. I am asking if the reviewer is allowed to use the Pencil if they have one attached to their iPad.All responses are much appreciated ☺!
15.5 beta 3 does not recognize Apple Pencil. (iPad Pro 12.9 M1) Apple Pencil is connected but iPad does bot respond Pencil action. “Forget Apple Pencil”, iPad cannot detect Pencil.
I wound up running into this as well. I back-levelled the OS to iOS 10 and the same thing happened. It turned out that the pencil's battery could not hold a charge.

Hi, I would like to share a finding and ask for a solution, if possible. This may be a potential bug with PointerMoveEvent on Safari on an iPad with Pencil Pro. I tested onPointerMove and onTouchMove in a element in a React web app for freehand drawing using Mouse on a PC. Finger touch on iPad Apple pencil pro on iPad Finger touch on iPhone I was able to draw smooth curves in all cases except when using onPointerMove with Apple pencil pro on iPad. The curve drawn in this case looked like it was created using several straight-line segments. It seems like the sampling rate for PointerMoveEvent is lower than that of TouchMoveEvent on Safari I am not sure how to solve this problem or if it is an issue with Safari's interpretation of PointerEvents. Any input is greatly appreciated. Edit: It seems like https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/689375 is related.
I have turned on 'Allow on Lock Screen' in Notes settings.Apple Pencil is not activating Notes on the lock screen in iOS 11 beta on the new iPad Pro 10.5, 256GB.Nothing happens with different pressure applied on the lock screen.Default account selected is iCloud'Only Draw with Apple Pencil' is switched on.
Are there any Apple Pencil Pro specific events in Mobile Safari? The interesting ones are hover, so we can know that it is about to touch the screen squeeze, ideally where we can provide a list of icons and actions to take. Failing that, providing a filter so we can show just the Apple-approved actions that a given web app supports
My iPad Pro app supports Apple Pencil using 'if touch.type == .pencil'. I previously used the term '.stylus' but I read it has been deprecated.I have a customer who wants to use a 3rd party stylus. How do I support input from a third-party stylus in my app?
They have wasted their money on this so-called pen-test. Suggestion: find out how much they paid, and you charge them twice that much to write your own report explaining how your use of malloc(), random() etc. is actually safe.

Are there any differences between a finger touch and a touch with Apple Pencil. How can I detect an Apple Pencil touch in case of multi touches ?
