Reply to SDK for Swift Student Challenge 2026 submissions
👋Hi @DTS Engineer I remember that the form submitted last year needed to be filled in with Xcode or Playground test, and it seems that it was also mentioned: • If you use Xcode, the judges may use Simulator to run. • If you use Playground, it's a real machine. But my work this time will encounter two limitations: It will use the framework/API only available in iOS 26 (so if it is a Playground environment, it may not run) It will also use some content that must be real to run (such as ARKit), which means that Xcode Simulator is not good. So I would like to ask: Does this year's review allow you to compile and connect the iPad to the real machine? Or did I misremember last year's regulations? If the judge's environment is fixed (for example, only Playground or only Simulator), how should I adjust the submission method or implement the scheme? Looking forward to your reply, thank you. ~ Jiaxu Li

Code Coverage Not Generated in Xcode 26.1 Despite Successful Test Runs
We’re facing an issue with Xcode 26.1 where code coverage is not being generated. All our test cases run and pass successfully, but the .xccovreport / .xccovarchive files are never produced. Code coverage is enabled in the scheme, and this setup used to work correctly in earlier Xcode versions. We are trying to determine whether this is a configuration issue on our end or a possible Xcode 26.1 bug. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem with code coverage in Xcode 26.1? Any insights or workarounds would be appreciated.

SPM Traits not working correctly with multiple targets in same Xcode workspace (App + App Clip)
Hi, I've just migrated to Swift Tools 6.2 and package traits, and I'm encountering an issue when using traits with multiple targets in the same Xcode workspace. Setup: Main iOS app target App Clip target Both consume the same local packages (e.g., UIComponents) What I'm trying to achieve: Main app imports packages without the COMPACT_BUILD trait App Clip imports packages with the COMPACT_BUILD trait enabled Package configuration (simplified): // UIComponents/Package.swift let package = Package( name: UIComponents, platforms: [.iOS(.v18)], traits: [ .trait(name: COMPACT_BUILD, description: Minimal build for App Clips), ], // ... targets: [ .target( name: UIComponents, dependencies: [...], swiftSettings: [ .define(COMPACT_BUILD, .when(traits: [COMPACT_BUILD])), ] ), ] ) In the code: #if COMPACT_BUILD // Excluded from App Clip #endif The consumer packages: Main app's package imports without trait: .package(path: ../UIComponents) App Clip's package imports with trait: .package(path: ../UIComponents, traits: [COMP

Reply to StoreKit 2 Returns 0 Products - Subscriptions “Ready to Submit” in App Store Connect
Same here. I created the new subscriptions during the recent App Store Connect problem, which was also acknowledged at https://developer.apple.com/system-status/. I encountered a lot of bugs when creating the new subscriptions, but somehow it saved them correctly anyway. I created three new subscriptions, and all have been approved and are ready to sell. However, only one of them is visible in the App Store, and only this one is purchasable by users. I'm pretty sure this is a bug because the subscription that users can purchase is visible on my app's detail page in the App Store, but with one important distinction: It only shows the English default translation, even though the German translation has been approved for my German App Store. This looks pretty broken... I would send you screenshots, but my App Store Connect is down again. 😃 I would be grateful if you could look into this @App Store Commerce Engineer Thanks a lot!

ASWebAuthenticationSession: Form submit fails on TestFlight unless submitted through Keychain autofill
I'm experiencing a strange issue where ASWebAuthenticationSession works perfectly when running from Xcode (both Debug and Release), but fails on TestFlight builds. The setup: iOS app using ASWebAuthenticationSession for OIDC login (Keycloak) Custom URL scheme callback (myapp://) prefersEphemeralWebBrowserSession = false The issue: When using iOS Keychain autofill (with Face ID/Touch ID or normal iphone pw, that auto-submits the form) -> works perfectly When manually typing credentials and clicking the login button -> fails with white screen When it fails, the form POST from Keycloak back to my server (/signin-oidc) never reaches the server at all. The authentication session just shows a white screen. Reproduced on: Multiple devices (iPhone 15 Pro, etc.) iOS 18.x Xcode 16.x Multiple TestFlight testers confirmed same behavior What I've tried: Clearing Safari cookies/data prefersEphemeralWebBrowserSession = true and false Different SameSite cookie policies on server Verified custom URL scheme

I did a hack-ish job of that and have included the results at the end of this post. I wanted the JSON crash report so that I could run it through some internal tools. Reply to Concurrency warning in Translation API
This is tricky. My best guess is that translationTask(_:action:) is missing all the magic concurrency decorations required to make this work nicely. To get this to build right now you can mark the closure as sendable, like so: .translationTask(configuration) { @Sendable session in do { try await session.prepareTranslation() } catch { // Handle any errors. } } This compiles in Xcode 26.1 using the Swift 6 language mode and: Approachable Concurrency enabled Default Actor Isolation set to MainActor Note I’m using prepareTranslation() in my examples because it’s simpler, and that makes it easier to focus on the core issue. The drawback to this is that you can no longer access main-actor-isolated state from the closure. You can work around that using MainActor.run(…): try await session.prepareTranslation() … no isolation … await MainActor.run { … main-actor isolated … } Clearly this is less than ideal and I encourage you to file a bug against… actually, I think it’d be best to file a bug against the Translating

Reply to OSLog is not working when launching the app with Siri.
One thing that may be happening here is that your app is launching without the debugger attached, which is where Quinn's points about the system log come in. You can use the macOS Console app to look for your logs once you're using OSLog. Something I like to do in addition to that is configure LLDB to wait to attach until your process is launched. That way, when you use Siri to launch the app, the logs you're expecting will be picked up in the LLDB console. You can configure this in your Xcode scheme, under the Run options. With that configuration set, if you press the Run button in Xcode, the system starts LLDB, but not your app like usual when you press the Run button. You can then launch your app through Shortcuts or Siri, LLDB will now attach automatically, and record all of your OSLog statements inside of Xcode for that launch sequence. — Ed Ford,  DTS Engineer

Reply to ASWebAuthenticationSession.start() does not display authentication UI on macOS (no error, no callback)

I’m having an issue with ASWebAuthenticationSession on macOS when trying to authenticate with Microsoft Azure AD. Sign in with Google Issue

Button 1: Default Standard Google Sign-In button (Google JavaScript SDK) embedded in the frontend. Uses the normal OAuth browser redirect flow. Auth URL: https://accounts.google.com/o/oauth2/v2/auth?... Sometimes disallowed_useragent error. Other times a 400 invalid_request error. In most cases the callback is never triggered inside the wrapper. Appears that the wrapper does not retain cookies/session data from the external Google window. Button 2: Custom Custom button calling Google OAuth through our own redirect handler. Explicitly set a custom user-agent to bypass disallowed user agent logic. Later removed user-agent override entirely for testing. Added multiple ATS (App Transport Security) exceptions for Google domains. Added custom UR
