Guideline 4.3(a) - Design - Spam
Hello, I recently submitted my app to the Apple Store and received a rejection under Guideline 4.3(a) - Design - Spam, stating that my app is similar to others on the store. However, my app has a unique feature set, offers more functionality and content than competitors, and is completely free with ad monetization, unlike most similar apps that require subscriptions. I have spent five months developing this app from scratch, ensuring it provides an original and valuable experience for users. I did not use an app template or repackaged code, and my app is not a reskinned version of any existing app. I genuinely believe it brings meaningful differentiation to the market. I would appreciate any guidance on how I can better communicate my app’s uniqueness to the review team or what specific aspects I should adjust to comply with Apple's guidelines. Thank you for your time and support.

Guideline 4.3(a) - Design - Spam
Issue Description We noticed the app shares a similar binary, metadata, and/or concept as apps submitted to the App Store by other developers, with only minor differences. Next Steps Since we do not accept spam apps on the App Store, we encourage you to review the app concept and submit a unique app with distinct content and functionality. Resources Some factors that contribute to a spam rejection may include: Submitting an app with the same source code or assets as other apps already submitted to the App Store Creating and submitting multiple similar apps using a repackaged app template Purchasing an app template with problematic code from a third party Submitting several similar apps across multiple accounts Learn more about our requirements to prevent spam in guideline 4.3.

My app update rejected by Guideline 4.3(a) - Design - Spam
Hi There! I released an app called Taino VPN with Russian IP on AppStore a month ago. After that, I updated the app successfully several times with minor fixes. Last time I submitted a new release with only small metadata and keyword updates and got rejected by Guideline 4.3(a) - Design - Spam. Original message is We noticed your app shares a similar binary, metadata, and/or concept as apps submitted to the App Store by other developers, with only minor differences. I'm now very confused! On Apple's official website Guideline 4.3(a) says: Don’t create multiple Bundle IDs of the same app. If your app has different versions for specific locations, sports teams, universities, etc., consider submitting a single app and provide the variations using in-app purchase. It does not make any sense because I have only 1 app developed from the scratch by me. Also, it does not match with Original reject message and 4.3(a) says nothing about other developers. I hope apple review support could guid

Guideline 4.3 - Design - Spam - In app purchases
I have a few apps that are in the App Store for 2 years, but now they have been rejected because of the Guideline 4.3 - Design - Spam. All these apps have In app puchases and hundreds of users paid for them. I'm aware that these purchases cannot be transfered to our new container app, and my question is: what would be the best approach for the users to have their purchases in this new app? It seems to me that we're only allowed to issue 100 promo codes for each in app purchase, what wouldn't be enough for us. Have anyone else experienced the same problem?Thank you!

Unfair 4.3(a) Rejection - Update Blocked
Hi, Our latest update for Top Scorer 2 was rejected under Guideline 4.3(a) - Spam, despite previous versions being approved without issue. We have been developing this game since 2017, and it is an original creation with unique gameplay, AI, and physics. This update includes super important bug fixes and improvements critical for our user base, yet Apple claims it is too similar to other apps without specifying which ones or what exactly needs to change. Previous version with similar features and design, was successfully approved, we are improving resolutions, updating SDKs and enhancing security for our players, why would you reject it, leaving players with an older version of the game that lacks the vast array of improvements we've incorporated in the game. Has anyone faced a similar rejection? Any advice would be appreciated.

Reply to 4.3.0 Design: Spam
See section 4.3 of the App Review Guidelines here: https://developer.apple.com/app-store/review/guidelines/#spam Whether Apple believes you’re submitting a too-similar app with minimal changes, or maybe the app category is too overrun? Or shorter, whether this is case 4.3(a) or case 4.3(b)?

App Rejection 4.3 Spam
Greetings, We have been rejected in the review of our App for a code non-compliance with 4.3 Design guidelines. Our App appears to be similar to others, and indeed it is similar in functionality and appearance. The others that are similar have been developed by us as well, these being customisations that are specifically targeted at the companies or accounts we deal with. The truth is that we have gone through several reviews of the other Apps before when we submitted them for publication at the time. We know that there are other development companies that customise Apps for different brands and in these cases there has been no reason for rejection by the Apple Store. We are beginning to think that there may be certain factors that are directly influencing the rejection of this App: The mockups or screenshots we are using are similar to those of another App we have published with the same functionalities. The backgrounds of the App have a gem of colours similar to that of the other App. And now we wo

Rejected Due to 4.3(a) Design - Spam
Hello everyone, I updated a new version to fix bugs and add more levels, but Apple rejected it citing spam design 4.3(a). Everything in the game is created by my team, and we did not copy or imitate any other product. We discovered that a studio has unpacked our game and stolen all our images, sounds, and many other files, even the file names match ours. Our game was released over a month before theirs, while they just released their first version a week ago. Despite being the original version, our game was rejected for spam. Currently, our game is generating $10k daily in IAP and we are spending a lot on ads. We are in urgent need of updating the game. I’m really frustrated that this issue has not been resolved yet. I have submitted all the information and evidence to the Apple Review Board, but I haven’t received any response so far.

Rejected under Guideline 4.3(a) after legal doc request
Hi everyone, We’re a U.S.-registered company and just submitted our primary app for review. We tried to be proactive: our initial submission included very detailed Notes to the Reviewer to avoid back-and-forth. Despite that, our first rejection asked for items we had already covered in Notes. Within ~30 minutes we replied in the Resolution Center with expanded details. The app went back to review and about 90% of the concerns were resolved. After that, we could see from our logs that the reviewer actively tested the app and requested additional legal documentation. We provided everything promptly, but the next response was a rejection under Guideline 4.3(a) – Design – Spam. There was no additional explanation tying 4.3(a) to anything specific in our binary or metadata, and this guideline hasn’t come up for us before. Here’s what we already provided via the Resolution Center: Test credentials and clear steps to access all app areas Detailed terms and in-app disclosures Executed agreements wit

4.2.6 and 4.3 (again) and Enrolling Process
We have all noticed the big changes Apple has brought with the implementation of the 4.2.6 and 4.3 rules of ASRGs While I believe there is still a lot of stuff to be discussed, I would like to start a discussion regaarding the Enrolling process to Apple's Programs, the complexity of it and the problems it brings to non-technical, small businesses.Apple has decided more or less that it would benefit from having most apps from small businesses to have their own Developer Account and be enrolled to it's Apple programs. This is ok, it's a business decision, they believe that the cost for quality apps and reviews is too high and they found this way to overcome the issue. The real problem though, in my opinion is the difficulty of enrolling to their developer programs, the time it needs to, and the maintainance thereafter. Like many other businesses, we run a software house which built an advanced online ordering system for restaurants. We spent about 4 years in developing our platform and we strongly belie

Guideline 4.3(a) - Design - Spam
Hi, I designed and created 2 apps to help protect 2 dying languages. One is Sonny Goes to School for the Osage Nation in US and the other is Maskosis Goes To School for Samson Cree Nation in Alberta Canada. The concept is similar and the animations are similar. We use the same characters that we drawn for the first project (Maskosis) and reuse them for the 2nd project (Sonny). We now need to update the apps so they can be used on newer devices. However the app review team kept rejected the updates saying we are spaming the app store. They advice us to submit a unique app with distinct content and functionality. To recreate all the animations would be very very expensive. I do not know how to proceed, does anyone have any ideas? I attached part of their reply below. No matter how I explain myself, they just kept replying back saying I am spam... Reply to Same code for multiple apps
Read the very long posts on 'spamming the app store' and rejections under 'guideline 4.3' on these forums. I think what you are proposing is mentioned as a solution to the 4.3 rejections.
