Breach of clause 4.1 App store review guideline
According to App Store Review Guidelines 4.1 copycat, developer cannot breach this clause. Buy unfortunately there are hundreds of developer that breach the clause including the big publisher like ketchapp and apple never took an action against it. one example is Ballz copy of swipe break breaker, not only that they even plagerized the phrase the champion of time killer. But it seems there are few clause that indie developer can breach it too if big publishers are breaching it.

No primeiro envio, rejeitaram com: Guideline 4.1 - Design - Copycats The app or its metadata appears to contain potentially misleading content. Specifically, the app includes content that resembles Sistema da Prefeitura without the necessary authorization. Next Steps Please demonstrate your relationship with any third-party brand owners represented in the app. Pegamos com a prefeitura um documento assinado digitalmente informando que somos os responsáveis pelos sistemas deles, autorizando tudo etc... Fizemos um novo envio para revisão. Porém, agora foi rejeitado com: Guideline 5.1.1 - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and Storage The app must be published under a seller and company name that is associated with the organization or company providing th

Fixing issues before submission
Hello App developers,I need to make a few changes to my app that was rejected.Issue 1:The screenshots I chose did not reflect my app in use. I looked up the Accurate Metadata section in the App Store Review Guidelines and my images seemed to be OK according to what was written there. They should be the correct aspect racio, as I took them from my device. The images show the full game experience. I'm not sure exactly what is wrong with them?Issue 2:The initial feedback told me that there was a Design - Copycats issue. I was told that my app or its metadata had misleading content with another app. It had appeared that the name I chose closely matched the name of another app. However, I have been unable to confirm if there are any other aspects of the game that I need to change to fix this issue. I'm not sure what to do here as I don't want to be removed from the developer program?Any help is most appreciated.

rejecting my app for publish by review team
Hello, I run a small news site, and tried to publish my app to the store but they keep asking me: 4. 1 Design: Copycats ' you have not provided sufficient documentation to demonstrate that you are currently authorized by the rights holder to represent the products or services included in your app. ' i uploaded a well documented txt file ony my website also inside the resolution center. i clearly tell them im the owner of x site and x app belongs to it to fetch data and show it in the app. First they came with third party thing, now they telling me to proof i have ownership i told them how can i show you or tell you im the ownership because i dont think they readed the well documentated txt file inside my hosting url. i think they are taking my time because i use my individual developer account with my first and last name. i do not run a company just freelance posting news to my website, thats the reason why i created individual developer account with apple for publishing my own app. They asked me the

Metadata Rejected
Hi, My app was metadata rejected and I can’t understand why. This is what they said: “Guideline 4.1 - Design - Copycats Your app or its metadata still appears to contain misleading content. Specifically, your app includes content that resembles Yards Per Fantasy.” They are saying my app resembles Yards Per Fantasy but my app IS Yards Per Fantasy so I’m really confused. When I asked for clarification their response wasn’t very helpful. The app is derived from my Wordpress site (YardsPerFantasy.com) using the WPMOBILE.App plugin. Please help! Thank you

App Rejected - Design: Copycats
I keep getting rejected from the app because of “Guideline 4.1 - Design - Copycats”. I have tried changing the game name, icon, privacy links and other things, but I don't understand exactly what elements of the app are violating my app. After searching the App Store I have not found an app similar to mine. If anyone has encountered this problem who knows how to solve it? Guideline 4.1 - Design - Copycats - This app or its metadata still appears to be misrepresenting itself as another popular app or game already available on the App Store, from a developer's website or distribution source, or from a third-party platform.

CopyCat Rejection - What documentation is needed to prove the app is mine?
I have submitted my app twice, with specific documentation showcasing the termination of agreement of the original release of my game via a publisher two years ago. The original released was removed from the App Store over a year ago and the publishers App Dev account closed. I have now finally readied my game to be published by myself on the App store but keep getting rejected with this info: Your app's metadata contains content that is similar to third-party content, which may create a misleading association with another developer's app or intellectual property. Specifically, the app's description, name, and icons includes references to xxxxxx. Next Steps It would be appropriate to revise the app and metadata to remove this third-party content before resubmitting for review. If you have the necessary rights to distribute an app with this third-party content, attach documentary evidence in the App Review Information section in App Store Connect and reply to this message. ______ The App is built from MY Unity

Appstore rejection for a movie companion app for Korean Squid Game
We recently attempted to publish a movie companion app for the Korean tv series - Squid Game on Netflix. The idea is that when users watch the korean tv series, the app will listen to the audio, understand the exact minutes the user is watching, and then display relevant information. The relevant information is basically, the latest survivor count and the latest cash prize, based on the progress of the tv show. This is displayed using fonts and colors that looks similar to the Scoreboard in the Netflix tv series. To avoid giving false impression that this app is official app from Netflix, there is no usage of any squidgame logo, netflix logo. Also no mention of Netflix or the Squid Game in the app description at all. Unfortunately, it is still rejected, with the following reasons: Guideline 4.1 - Design - Copycats Your metadata appears to contain third party content. Specifically, your app copycat the Squid game. The next submission of this app may require a longer review time, and this app

Preventing Copycat and Impersonation Rejections
In this post, we'll share tips to help you submit apps that deliver original ideas to your users. When working on your app, focus on creating interesting, unique experiences that aren't already available. Apps that actively try to copy other apps won't pass review, and accounts that repeatedly submit copycat apps or attempt to impersonate a service will be closed. The rules that prevent copycat and impersonator apps from being distributed on the App Store are described in App Review Guideline 4.1: 4.1 Copycats (a) Come up with your own ideas. We know you have them, so make yours come to life. Don’t simply copy the latest popular app on the App Store, or make some minor changes to another app’s name or UI and pass it off as your own. In addition to risking an intellectual property infringement claim, it makes the App Store harder to navigate and just isn’t fair to your fellow developers. (b) Submitting apps which impersonate other apps or services is considered a violation of the Dev
