Starting to develop with iOS 4.3, device compaibility?
Hello,I am new to the iOS development, using C++ on Mac OS X some years.I like to develop apps using objective-c starting from my old X-Code on Snow Leopard (iOS 4.3). Is that forward compatible up to iOS 7+ and can I depoy such an application?I like to test my apps with my iPhone 4S having an iOS 5 installed. Will be using Snow Leopard for this (latest X-Code version there) possible?I have an external usb drive with an updated OS X (Marvericks). This will be my last resort, if I do not have any chance to use my Snow Leopard targeting iOS 4.3+ as a first start. Thanks for any help,Lothar

Public Beta Portal Hanging? beta.apple.com/profile not working
Hello everyone,I am a member of the Public Beta program, and was looking to install the iOS 9.1 public beta (Beta 3, currently). Before I continue, I'd like to say I have a long history with iOS betas (going all the way back to iOS 4.3), so I know what I'm getting myself into. I am sure most of you know that the Beta Profile is necessary to install the beta OTA. On my iPhone 5s, this was not a problem. I went to the beta.apple.com/profile address in Safari, and logged into my Apple account through the Public Beta Portal without issue. I was able to install the Beta Profile no problem. Now, I attempted to log in through the portal on my iPad Mini 2 in Safari, and it hangs at the log in screen. It begins to load, and never finishes. If I set auto-lock to Never, it would attempt to load the page until the battery ran out. I tried to log in on other browsers, and it went through just fine; the only problem with this is I cannot load the Beta Profile into the Settings app through a third-party browser, as

Xcode 7.1 installed but won't show up
I started the Xcode 7.1 update and it seems to have downloaded 4.5GB in the process.App Store is now showing xcode 7.1 as part of Updated Installed in the Last 30 days. However, when I open Xcode, it still shows 7.01. I checked files in Applications/Xcode and many files have latest timestamp (for example frameworks etc) so something seems to be updated. I restarted Mac but no help. Strangely, now it shows Xcode 7.1 in both Updates Available and also in Updated Installed in the Last 30 days. When I click Update, it again starts 4.3 GB download. Any idea what's going on ?Thanks

I need to be sure before start the project that the goal is accomplishable. Can I ask for review my application concept? Thanks,Jaroslav

Reply to App store minimum iOS version support ?
The current App Distribution Guide says For example, the lowest available setting for iPad apps is iOS 4.3. ( Setting the Deployment Target ) but my Xcode 7.1.1 doesn't seem to allow any deployment target for an iPhone project to be lower than iOS 6.0. So YMMV I guess. Basically the minimum is whatever the minimum supported Xcode version (Is Xcode 5 still allowed or does the store now require Xcode 6? I don't know) allows in the popup for the project deployment target. One other factor - if you use Swift that limits you to iOS 7.0 and later.

dyld: Symbol not found: _storeKitCanMakePayments for simulator
Hi. I am developing a Unity3D game for iOS. I need to run my app in iPhone 6/6s with iOS 8.3 OS to fix an issue there. I already ticked the Simlink Unity Libraries checkbox, and am using the Simulator SDK. I am using Unity 4.3.In the XCode 7.1, there were errors that force me to remove AppAdforce.plist, and when it runs using the simulator of the said iPhone/iOS, it only runs until the splash screen, and then crashes with the following error:dyld: Symbol not found: _storeKitCanMakePaymentsCan someone help me fix this?

Compute Shaders in OpenGL 4.3 vs. Metal
How much different is Metal's computer shader pipeline vs. OpenGL 4.3? I am interested in learning how to port some OpenGL compute shaders to metal for a game, but some I have heard from a manager that his dev told them it could not be done because Metal is missing some key features of OpenGL 4.3. Does anyone know what Metal's limitations are vs. OpenGL 4.3 when it comes to compute shaders? Thanks.
