We are on Beta 7 now of Mac Big Sur and still no FireWire added as part of the driver kit.. We really need this back.. I have two Apple adaptors that cost rather a lot to simply make them no longer do anything. I have loads of pro gear that works via FireWire as do many others still. I did post about this on the last beta but no reply.

Big Sur 11.2 I recently upgraded my Mac from Catalina to Big Sur. Since then Transporter.app fails to process the signed .pkg when I try to upload to the App Store: Could not create a temporary .itmsp package for the app “TakinSigned.pkg”. Failed to decompress the app. There is no log file, no explanation. The signed package is produced as for Catalina through the commands: productbuild --component Takin.app /Applications Takin.pkg productsign --sign <3rd Party Mac Developer Installer certificat> --keychain ~/Library/Keychains/login.keychain Takin.pkg “TakinSigned.pkg” Any suggestion ?

Running Big Sur 11.1 cannot go into the Recovery Mode. Anyone tried it? It stops at the very beginning with a warning sign and error 5101D

Netbeans 12.2 and jdk 15 work well in my mac Big Sur. But after I made Big Sur update, Web Application can't run showing the error 'Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.Xbootclasspath/p is no longer a supported option. Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit. Java Result: 1'. I find no solution for my error. But Java Application works well. Is there anyone who knows how to solve this problem, thanks.

I just updated my Mac book Pro to the beta MacOS Big Sur. I pulled up my kindle app and none of my books will pull up. I can't read a single thing the whole screen is blank. I unregistered my device and reregistered. I logged out and logged back in. I deleted the App and re dowloaded it. Nothing I did worked. Anyone else having this problem?

I wanted to try out the beta for Big Sur, but now I'm stuck. When I download Catalina, I am unable to install it. I get a message that says 'This copy of the macOS Catalina installer application is too old to be opened on this version of macOS.' Is there another way to install Catalina without wiping the computer?

My MacBook Pro with Touch Bar has 500GB SSD with 8GB LPDDR3 and 2.9 Dual-core intel i5. Only runs 1 startup app (dropbox) in the background. 2 desktop screens (neither in dynamic) and no screensaver. Weather, Calendar and Top Stories are my only widgets. No hot corners. RAM is pretty clean and I'm currently using 299GB of my 499Gb available storage. Most trackpad gestures are active. MacBook has never been dropped, wet, damaged or dismantled and I vacuum the fans generally once per month. Also use anti-malware software for weekly full system scans. Basically, there's no reason my machine's operation should have slowed down yet here we are. Xcode is slower and even local user settings like changing the picture on the admin account is slower. Is Big Sur untraceably consuming so that much RAM? Is my pristine machine really so outdated it can't handle the upgrade? Is Apple pushing me to purchase a newer machine to handle the future upgrades? Is so much UI customization really necessary? Hi everyone, I'm having a problem after Big Sur installation. I'm a Blender and LuxCore renderer user. Before upgrading I was on Mojave and Catalina and the renderer worked fine. I'm having trouble with the LuxCore OCL rendering and I got an OpenCL driver error: OpenCL driver API error (code -30, file:/Users/runner/work/1/s/src/luxrays/utils/ocl.cpp, line: 366): CLINVALIDVALUE Other Big Sur user with Radeon VII can render without any issues on OCL. There were probably some driver changes to the AMD GCN 1.0 GPUs but now it's not possible for me to use the renderer. My specs: iMac 5k late 2014 i5 24 GB RAM AMD Radeon R9 M290X (GCN 1.0) Is there any chance Apple will fix it? Or is there any solution for that? Also did anyone experience issues with OpenCL on Big Sur?

When I use sidercar with Big Sur, the apple pencil is out of alignment with where it is pointing on the ipad. I am using the latest iPad Pro on iPadOS 13.6.1

I would like to install Big Sur on my development machine. But I get the message that I need at least 30 GB of free disk space. But there are 50 GB free. Does anyone else have this problem?

I have a Mac catalyst app that has a root view controller of a UIDocumentBrowserViewController. When a document is selected, the editor view controller is presented modally (in fullscreen mode). This worked fine on iOS 14, and macOS Catalina, but when I run it on Big Sur, the editor VC will appear for a second, and then disappear, and the UIDocumentBrowserViewController gets shown again. (Not sure if the editor is being dismissed, or if another UIDocumentBrowserViewController is being shown on top.)

Hi, macOS Big Sur works for me perfectly until I upgraded iCloud to 2TB. While syncing, Finder crashes and cannot be reopened again. Open Finder will result in -1 error. Trying safe mode, closed WiFi (to prevent syncing) and the result is the same. Since I cannot access Finder, I can't redownload the beta (downloading to a folder will hung). What shall I do?
