Reply to Apple watch Xcode pairing & connection issues
After 7 hours, successfully managed to get my first deployment on the watch. Definitely not something you expect from apple, in fact I cussed them out the whole way through. But here's what I did Mostly followed entouss's guide and most advice is reiterated from him + some of my experiences Before you do anything, make sure Apple Watch is fully charged (this WILL take a long time) It has a passcode You might get the bright idea to remove the passcode and put it on charger to prevent lock. Keep it on. Pre-pair Make sure you're on a 2.4 ghz network (mobile hotspot or create guest network on router) Connect all devices to that network Shutdown all devices and start them up 1 by 1 to start from a clean slate Get it to show up in Xcode devices If your apple watch is already in the xcode device list, DO NOT unpair it as it may not show back up again without large hassle WATCH for trust this device messages on your apple watch. If you accedentally press no, or press the crown while the dialog is on, you gonna have t

Why don't my os_log entries show up until the second time my driver loads?
I'm in the process of writing a DriverKit USBHostInterface driver, and while I'm finally starting to get there, I've run into a bit of a frustration with logging. Naturally I have a liberal amount of os_log calls that I'm using to troubleshoot my driver. However I've noticed that they don't show up until after the first time my driver has loaded. Meaning, for example, suppose I make a new build of my driver and it's bundled user-mode app, install the bundle to /Applications, run the installer, verify it took with systemextensionsctl list, fire up Console and start streaming log entries, then plug in my device. I can see the log entries that show that my driver is loaded, etc., then a bunch of kernel -> log entries, but none of my Start method log entries. If I unplug my device and plug it in again, my log entries show up as expected. Why is this and, more importantly, how can I fix it? I'd like to see those log entries the first time the driver loads, if I could.

Reply to CloudKit, cannot deploy private database initial schema to production
When running the app in the development environment, I can see that data is saved and can be retrieved successfully. However, in the iCloud console, I don’t see any record types or even the custom zone. Hmm, this doesn't sound right. Would you mind to share the detailed steps you used to reproduce the issue? It will be really strange if you see the data but not the schema in CloudKit Console. Be sure that you choose the right container and the development environment. Additionally, I’m unable to deploy any schema to production because no changes are detected. CloudKit Console doesn't deploy the schema, if the schema in the development environment is indeed empty. Installing the app from TestFlight when trying to upload a record CloudKit reports this error: The error indicates that MyType didn't exist and the attempt to create it failed, which is as-designed because a TestFlight app by default uses the CloudKit production environment and creating a new record type isn't allowed in the environment. No responds on enrollment status.
Hi I'm new here and trying so enroll in apple developers program and so I was met with problems like unable to create apple account, failed payment on 7 cards, 3 support tickets with no responds, and now I have enrolled in apple developers program (sort of, they just took payment and no news after that. Reply to System-wide deadlock in removexattr from revisiond / APFS
We're experiencing a deadlock on certains systems when our software is installed, which is causing side effects in our process (and likely others) such as blocked queues and increased memory usage. According to the spindump, revisiond appears to be holding an exclusive lock within the kernel. Can you file a bug on this and upload the full spindump there? That's the easiest way to transfer large data files and I may eventually want a sysdiagnose. Having said that... Our agent uses Endpoint Security Framework to monitor events, and provide anti-tamper functionality for installed components and processes. While several EndpointSecurity calls appear in the spindump stack traces, we don't have any evidence that any calls from revisiond were blocked. ...this is almost CERTAINLY caused by your ES client. What we'd really like to to understand what that lock is (appears to be decompressing an object on an APFS volume), what revisiond and APFS are doing with it, and what might cause it to deadlock. Y

Unable to capture only the cursor in macOS Tahoe
Precondition: In system settings, scale the pointer size up to the max. Our SCScreenshotManager code currently works in macOS 15 and earlier to capture the cursor at it's larger size, but broke in one of the minor releases of macOS Tahoe. The error it produces now is Failed to start stream due to audio/video capture failure. This only seems to happen with the cursor window, not any others. Another way to get the cursor is with https://developer.apple.com/documentation/appkit/nscursor/currentsystem, but that is now deprecated, which makes me think the capture of the cursor is being blocked deliberately. We see this as a critical loss of functionality for our apps, and could use guidance on what to use instead.

DeviceActivityMonitor extension rejected by App Store Connect validator — NSExtensionPointIdentifier "com.apple.deviceactivity.monitor" invalid (IrisAPI -19241)
Hi everyone, I'm building an iOS app that uses a DeviceActivityMonitor app extension as part of the Screen Time / Family Controls API. Every time I try to upload my IPA to App Store Connect, the validation fails with this error: Invalid Info.plist value. The value of the NSExtensionPointIdentifier key, com.apple.deviceactivity.monitor, in the Info.plist of 'Alexandria.app/PlugIns/AlexandriaActivityMonitor.appex' is invalid. Error Domain=IrisAPI Code=-19241, iris-code=STATE_ERROR.VALIDATION_ERROR What I have verified (everything looks correct): NSExtensionPointIdentifier = com.apple.deviceactivity.monitor NSExtensionPrincipalClass = AlexandriaActivityMonitor.AlexandriaActivityMonitorExtension (correctly resolved in the compiled binary, verified with plutil -p) The Swift class correctly subclasses DeviceActivityMonitor CFBundleShortVersionString matches the main app Both the main app and extension provisioning profiles explicitly contain com.apple.developer.family-controls = true (verified by inspecting embedde

TestFlight External Build Stuck in 'Waiting for Review' for 32+ Hours
Hi everyone, My TestFlight build has been stuck in 'Waiting for Review' for over 32 hours and I'm hoping someone can help or share their experience. The situation: I have an External Testing group with a Public Link set up. The build was submitted for Beta App Review on March 19th but it's been over 32 hours with no update. I have 25+ testers waiting to install the app. What I've tried: Waited patiently Checked App Store Connect multiple times No rejection emails received No issues flagged by Apple Questions: Is anyone else experiencing unusually long review times for TestFlight external builds right now? Is there anything I can do to speed up the process or check if something is wrong? Has anyone successfully resolved this by contacting Apple Developer Support directly? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Apple Support Case ID: 102846633409

Reply to Xcode 26 close the project when closing all tabs using cmd + w
Enhancements to Xcode's functionality should be filed through Feedback Assistant so the appropriate teams can consider the request. It would be helpful to detail why you'd like Xcode to behave as you describe and how that would help your development workflows when you file that.
