According to https://developer.apple.com/documentation/iokit IOKit is supported for iOS/iPadOS 16.0+. I was trying to figure out what that exactly meant by using Xcode 14.1 and build for iPadOS 16.1. But I just get No such module 'IOKit' if I have import IOKit in any Swift file. Wondering if it is an error in the documentation or if I have to do something extraordinary? Thanks :)
Under iPadOS 17 beta the Web content with below CSS does not display in safari but iPadOS 16.5 does. Could you please help understand and how to fix it for iPadOS 17? Thanks in advance! 111111111111 1 23 4 Under inspector: Under iPadOS 16.5 in safari, the text displays: However under iPadOS 17 beta, the page is blank and the text does not display:
Some iPad Pro with iPadOS 14.2 to iPadOS14.7, can call the method setSectionHeaderTopPadding witch in iOS15.0, then trigger crash. Does anyone know what caused it,and how to fix it?Thx.
My apps are using UIRequiresFullScreen = YES in the info.plist. Now that this is deprecated for iPadOS 26+, I'm updating my apps and using the UIWindowScene's sizeRestriction property to ensure a certain minimum size of the window. I've enabled all orientations support for iPads in the plist as well as the supportedInterfaceOrientations property of the ViewController. On iPadOS 26, the following line works - windowScene.sizeRestrictrions?.minimumSize = CGSize(480,720) The window does not resize below the above threshold and everything works as expected. However on the iPad simulators for 18.x (with Stage Manager enabled), the above sizeRestrictions property is never set. It shows up as nil even after the views have been laid out. The simulator allows me to drag the window handle and shrink the window to well below the specified threshold, all the way down to a width of 375. Is there anyway I can set the sizeRestrictions for iPadOS 18.x and lower?
This afternoon I used my Macbook Pro to Update the IPadOS developer beta for my IPad Pro 11. However, my ipad had some problems that it cannot update successfully and cannot go to the homepage. I tried to connect to Itunes and restore my IPad, but it did not work. Then, my IPad stays in the processing page. I cannot turn off or do anything else to leave the page. What can I do to save my IPad? Thank you very much if you can help me.
I can't seem to find the ipsw file for ipadOS 14, can someone link it or tell me where I can find it?
My name is Eric Crow, I am the founder of a nonprofit called In the Wilderness, and it is our desire to create an immersive iPadOS Bible experience using Apple’s newest IOS 16 features that will allow us to freely distribute educational resources (with a focus against any antisemitic ideologies) to students from around the world. Our goal is to create a visual UI experience using iPadOS and AppleTV that is similar to Masterclass by recreating the scene of an ancient Bible school called Tyrannus, of which site in Ephesus we have some incredible images to use. Because our courses will be managed through Apple Schoolwork Manager, we’re only needing an IOS UI that displays our courses on the iPad and iPhone and links them with our textbooks to the Apple Schoolwork app, our textbooks on Apple Books, and our Apple Podcast Channel, along with a donation section that allows for donors to give to specific teachers, including an Apple Pay option. We are also desiring to develop a corresponding AppleTV
Our app includes the UIRequiresFullScreen plist key, but the iPadOS 26 betas seem to ignore this. The window handle is still displayed, and while the window aspect ratio seems to be constrained, you can still adjust it and arrange it alongside other apps. We do not want to support windowing or multi-tasking, and the WWDC sessions indicated there would be a way to opt out of the new windowing system. Has UIRequiresFullScreen been silently deprecated, or are we missing something in our implementation?
In the iPadOS the window.navigator.userAgent is same as the value in the MacOS. How to distinguish them. And l find maybe can use the window.navigator.maxTouchPoints, but seems this is not the best way to handle this.
I'm preparing my submission for the Swift Student Challenge, and I have a couple of questions regarding the development environment. Is it allowed to use Xcode to program my scene, or do I have to use Swift Playgrounds? Can I use iPadOS 18 for development? I noticed that Swift Playgrounds currently only supports up to iPadOS 17.5, but I would like to use RealityView, which is only available starting from iPadOS 18. I appreciate any clarification on this. Thanks in advance!

Issue: Build of my app to the device succeeds as it would normally, but the UI will take up to 5 minutes to display on said device. This issue does not occur with iPadOS 16.1 and has never occurred with my app in the past. All of this is true of both XCode 14.1 and 14.2. Issue consistent across following physical devices and simulators: iPad Pro (12.9-inch) (4th generation), running iPadOS 16.2 iPad Air (5th generation), running iPadOS 16.2 Issue not occuring on following devices Simulator: iPad Pro (12.9-inch) (4th generation), running iPadOS 16.2 iPad (6th generation), running iPadOS 16.1
See a Reddit post - https://www.reddit.com/r/apple/comments/c5hekm/xcode_on_ipados/ and the twitter post below by Jon Prosser: I’m not gonna say that Final Cut is coming to iPad... But XCode is present on iOS / iPad OS 14. The implications there are HUGE. Opens the door for “Pro” applications to come to iPad. I mentioned this last week on a live stream, but figured it was worth the tweet If Xcode makes it to iPadOS 14 the iPad Pro will truly be a product for ****. The line above doesn't mean what you think it means. For some reason, and I can assure you it's completely harmless, **** is a no-go word.
There is a problem with the launchscreen of my application on iPadOS 26. After release of the windowed mode feature the launchscreen of my fullscreen landscape-only application is being cropped and doesn't stretch to screen's size when the device is in the portrait mode. How can I fix this?

I need to developer a USB DEXT to support a custom device and something like this will be very useful. If not, is there another way to monitor DEXT/Kernel activity on iPadOS? Perhaps in LLDB?
