Incorrect keyboard frame on iOS 26 when using Secure Text with Autofill
Area: Software Update Type of Feedback: Application Bug Description Device: iPhone 13 Pro running iOS 26 Build environment: Xcode 16.4 Problem description: When a text field has secureTextEntry = YES and Password Autofill / Passkeys is active, the autofill panel is not included in the rect reported from the keyboard notifications (UIKeyboardFrameEndUserInfoKey or others). As a result, when calculating the offset to move the screen up and reveal the hidden input field, the field is not displayed correctly because the reported keyboard height is smaller than the actual visible height. Observed behavior: This only occurs on devices running iOS 26 built with Xcode 16.4. On previous versions of iOS, with the same settings (secureTextEntry and Autofill active), the rect correctly includes the autofill panel height, and the UI works as expected. I tested with both UIKeyboardDidShowNotification and UIKeyboardWillChangeFrameNotification, and in both cases the behavior is the same: the height is incorrect (smaller than expected with the autofill panel). What I expect / questions: That UIKeyboardFrameEndUserInfoKey (or the related notification) correctly reports the total area covered by the keyboard, including any password autofill panel, when secureTextEntry is active. That the new behavior in iOS 26 be documented if this omission is intentional, or otherwise considered a bug if it is not. If there is any official workaround suggested by Apple for developers affected by this issue while a fix is provided. Thank you for your support.

Xcode 26.0.1 + Unity 6.0+ AR project fails with linker assertion (dylibToOrdinal)
Hi, I’m facing an issue when trying to build a Unity AR project for iOS using Xcode 26.0.1 (Build 17A400) on macOS Tahoe. The build always fails with the following error: Assertion failed: (it != _dylibToOrdinal.end()), function dylibToOrdinal, file OutputFile.cpp, line 5196. Details: Unity versions tested: 6.0.0 (6000.0.57f1), 6.2.5, and 6.3 beta Xcode: 26.0.1 (latest) macOS: Tahoe Even a fresh Unity AR template project fails (no external plugins or modifications) Deleting derived data, reinstalling Xcode, and re-exporting from Unity doesn’t resolve it Notes: Downgrading Xcode is not possible because macOS Tahoe requires the latest version. Android builds work fine; the issue only happens on iOS. Question: Has anyone else encountered this linker assertion in Xcode 26 with Unity builds? Is this a known bug in the new Xcode linker, or is there a recommended workaround until Unity or Apple updates their toolchain? Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Extract Subview option missing in Xcode 26
Hi everyone, I recently updated to Xcode 26.0 and noticed that the “Extract Subview” refactoring option seems to be missing. Now, in Xcode 26, the only options I see under Editor -> Refactor -> are: Extract to Selection File Extract to Method Extract to Variable Extract All Occurrences But there’s no Extract Subview as there was before. Was Extract Subview intentionally removed in Xcode 26? Or is it hidden behind a new menu location or renamed?

Xcode Provisioning Profile missing required BGTaskSchedulerPermittedIdentifiers entitlement despite correct project configuration
Hello, My project fails to build/run on a physical device or archive, due to a persistent provisioning error. Exact Error: Provisioning profile "iOS Team Provisioning Profile: com.huiwan.Ohra-Journal" doesn't include the BGTaskSchedulerPermittedIdentifiers entitlement. I have already performed extensive troubleshooting, and all local configurations appear to be correct: Capabilities: "Background Modes" with the "Background processing" option is enabled in the target's "Signing & Capabilities" tab. Info.plist: The Permitted background task scheduler identifiers key is present in the target's Info.plist, and it contains the correct task identifier (com.huiwan.ohra-journal.refresh). Entitlements File: The .entitlements file is correctly configured by Xcode. Full Reset: I have tried a complete reset procedure, including deleting ~/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData and ~/Library/MobileDevice/Provisioning Profiles/, restarting Xcode, and letting the automatic signing system regenerate the profile from scratch. The issue persists. Despite all these correct local settings, the provisioning profile automatically generated by Xcode is consistently missing the required entitlement. This strongly suggests a server-side issue with the provisioning service for my App ID (com.huiwan.Ohra-Journal). I filed a bug report on the Feedback Assistant (FB20268285) a week ago but have not received a response. This issue is completely blocking my development and ability to submit the app. Could you please investigate the status of my App ID and the provisioning services associated with it? Thank you.

xcodebuild failing when package plugin is added to project
I have created a build tool plugin in one of my SPM packages, and am trying to get it working in my project. Is it possible that the sandbox being applied to the plugin is also being incorrectly applied to something involved in parsing and caching the manifest file? Or if there is something I am doing wrong, please let me know. This is using Xcode 16.4 on macOS 15.5.

XCode has failed countless times in updates, and every time it fails, it has to be downloaded again
XCode has failed countless times in updates, and every time it fails, it has to be downloaded again. By 2025, the App Store will still be so foolish as not to have download caching function. Previously, there was a separate installation package for XCode, but now the official website does not provide a separate address?

Request for Support of Multi-MCP Integration and AI-Powered Code Automation in Xcode 26
Hello, I appreciate the enhanced productivity brought by ChatGPT and Claude AI integration in Xcode 26, which assists with code completion, refactoring, and documentation directly within the IDE. However, in real-world development environments, teams use a variety of MCP (Model Context Protocol) collaboration tools such as Jira, GitHub, Notion, and Confluence. Currently, there is no official, seamless integration of multiple MCP services with the AI features inside Xcode. For example, it would be extremely beneficial if: AI could automatically fetch and understand issues, tickets, documents, and code context from multiple MCP services, Perform related code modifications, pull request creation, and documentation updates All done intuitively and with minimal steps directly from Xcode. I kindly request that future Xcode releases provide official support for connecting to various MCP APIs, enabling smoother collaboration between AI and multiple team productivity tools all within the IDE environment. Thank you for considering this enhancement.

Programmatically overriding Liquid Glass dock icon?
Hello, I recently updated my app’s icon to use the new Liquid Glass style by adding an .icon file created with Icon Composer to my project. Previously, I had two image sets (light and dark versions of the app icon), and I’d implemented a settings option that let users either manually select their preferred icon, or let the app automatically switch between light/dark based on the system appearance. Is there a way to achieve the same behavior with the new Liquid Glass .icon file?Specifically, can I programmatically override the system-selected Liquid Glass dock icon and force a particular variant? Thank you.

SF symbols not rendering in swiftui views
Summary: The minus.capsule and minus.capsule.fill SF Symbols do not render in my project. Other SF Symbols (e.g., plus.capsule and minus.circle) render correctly in the same context. Steps to Reproduce 1. Add an Image(systemName: "minus.capsule") or Image(systemName: "minus.capsule.fill") to a SwiftUI view. 2. Run the app on the latest macOS. Expected Result The minus capsule symbols should render consistently, similar to plus.capsule. Actual Result minus.capsule and minus.capsule.fill do not render at all. Additional Testing • Replaced minus.capsule with minus.circle: renders correctly. • Swapped the right-hand plus.capsule symbol in my slider with minus.capsule: the symbol fails to render in that position as well. That rules out clipping or layout issues.

Help testing sandbox purchases in Xcode
I am attempting to test non-consumable sandbox purchases, however I am unable to select the "Approve Transaction" option after initiating a purchase. Leaving the transaction in a permanent pending state. I can view the transaction in the transaction manager by navigating to Debug -> Storekit -> Manage Transactions.. but the only available options to select are "Refund Transaction" or "Delete Transaction". What am I missing about Xcode or my environment that is preventing me from testing this purchase flow? Some more information about my set up. I have a .storekit file synced to AppStore Connect with my product Id. There's a StoreKitTestCertificate.cert saved in the project. I've tried running the build on my phone as Debug, Release and ReleaseForRunning all with the same behavior after making a purchase. My phone is logged into a sandbox test user apple account in the developer iOS settings

Designed-for-iPad apps on macOS: Print sheet fails to appear
Summary: When running our iPad app on macOS (“Designed for iPad”), invoking UIPrintInteractionController intermittently fails to show a working print sheet. The same code works reliably on iPad or iOS devices and also on macOS pre 26. This regression started after updating to macOS Tahoe Version 26.0 (25A354) Steps to Reproduce: Launch the attached minimal sample on macOS (Designed for iPad). Tap “Print plain text” Expected Results: The print panel should appear and discover AirPrint printers reliably, as on iPad/iOS or previous mac versions. Actual Results: On macOS, the panel fails to appear. Mac version: macOS Tahoe 26.0 (25A354) xCode version: 26.0 (17A324) Sample Reproduction Code: struct ContentView: View { var body: some View { Button("Print plain text") { printPlainText() } .buttonStyle(.borderedProminent) .padding() } func printPlainText() { let text = "This is just a sample print" guard UIPrintInteractionController.isPrintingAvailable else { NSLog("Printing not available on this device") return } let info = UIPrintInfo(dictionary: nil) info.outputType = .general info.jobName = "Plain Text" let formatter = UISimpleTextPrintFormatter(text: text) formatter.perPageContentInsets = UIEdgeInsets(top: 36, left: 36, bottom: 36, right: 36) let ctrl = UIPrintInteractionController.shared ctrl.printInfo = info ctrl.printFormatter = formatter DispatchQueue.main.async { ctrl.present(animated: true) { _, completed, error in if let error { NSLog("Print error: \(error.localizedDescription)") } else { NSLog(completed ? "Print completed" : "Print cancelled") } } } } } Also I have added the following values to info.plist: <key>NSLocalNetworkUsageDescription</key> <string>This app needs local network access to discover AirPrint printers.</string> <key>NSBonjourServices</key> <array> <string>_ipp._tcp.</string> <string>_ipps._tcp.</string> <string>_printer._tcp.</string> </array>

When adapting to iOS 26, the UIDesignRequiresCompatibility usage period
When adapting to iOS 26, do not use Liquid Glass by adding an option to the Info.Plist file: UIDesignRequires Compatibility with a value of YES. But there is a question: 'Note that this option will be removed in Xcode 27, so it can only be delayed for a maximum of one year.' May I ask if this question is true

But if I try to build the project using xcodebuild on a machine where I have never built the project before, it fails with this error: error: '2.3.0': Invalid manifest (compiled with: ["/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Toolchains/XcodeDefault.xctoolchain/usr/bin/swiftc", "-vfsoverlay", "/var/folders/5_/q4yl04gs2kld1zztqxkqjdgh0000gq/T/TemporaryDirectory.BWwJWG/vfs.yaml", "-L", "/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Toolchains/XcodeDefault.xctoolchain/usr/lib/swift/pm/ManifestAPI", "-lPackageDescription", "-Xlinker", "-rpath", "-Xlinker", "/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Toolchains/XcodeDefault.xctoolchain/usr/lib/swift/pm/ManifestAPI", "-target", "arm64-apple-macosx14.0", "-sdk", "/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX15.5.sdk", "-F", "/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/Library/Frameworks", "-F", "/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/Library/PrivateFrameworks", "-I", "/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/usr/lib", "-L", "/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/usr/lib", "-swift-version", "5", "-I", "/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Toolchains/XcodeDefault.xctoolchain/usr/lib/swift/pm/ManifestAPI", "-sdk", "/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX15.5.sdk", "-package-description-version", "5.7.0", "/private/var/folders/5_/q4yl04gs2kld1zztqxkqjdgh0000gq/T/SwiftTemplate/1FA05B4D-851D-4D2B-ADD6-E5A0DF70CD37/2.3.0/Package.swift", "-o", "/var/folders/5_/q4yl04gs2kld1zztqxkqjdgh0000gq/T/TemporaryDirectory.HUxmAq/2.3.0-manifest"]) <unknown>:0: error: error opening '/var/folders/5_/q4yl04gs2kld1zztqxkqjdgh0000gq/C/clang/ModuleCache/PackageDescription-3TZGMDBKTLI5E.swiftmodule' for output: /var/folders/5_/q4yl04gs2kld1zztqxkqjdgh0000gq/C/clang/ModuleCache/PackageDescription-3TZGMDBKTLI5E.swiftmodule: Operation not permitted /private/var/folders/5_/q4yl04gs2kld1zztqxkqjdgh0000gq/T/SwiftTemplate/1FA05B4D-851D-4D2B-ADD6-E5A0DF70CD37/2.3.0/Package.swift:4:8: error: failed to build module 'PackageDescription' for importation due to the errors above; the textual interface may be broken by project issues or a compiler bug 2 | // The swift-tools-version declares the minimum version of Swift required to build this package. 3 | 4 | import PackageDescription | `- error: failed to build module 'PackageDescription' for importation due to the errors above; the textual interface may be broken by project issues or a compiler bug 5 | 6 | let package = Package( On a machine where this isn't working, if I open Xcode and build the project once, then xcodebuild will succeed. Even if the Xcode build fails because I didn't choose to trust the plugin. I first ran into this on our CI server, and confirmed the same behavior by creating a brand new user account on my Mac and reproducing there. Oddly I am not able to recreate the failure after it is fixed by Xcode, even after deleting every conceivable SPM related cache.

Has anyone got this to work? And if so, what details did you enter?

Designed-for-iPad apps on macOS: Print sheet fails to appear
Summary: When running our iPad app on macOS (“Designed for iPad”), invoking UIPrintInteractionController intermittently fails to show a working print sheet. The same code works reliably on iPad or iOS devices and also on macOS pre 26. This regression started after updating to macOS Tahoe Version 26.0 (25A354) Steps to Reproduce: Launch the attached minimal sample on macOS (Designed for iPad). Tap “Print plain text” Expected Results: The print panel should appear and discover AirPrint printers reliably, as on iPad/iOS or previous mac versions. Actual Results: On macOS, the panel fails to appear. Mac version: macOS Tahoe 26.0 (25A354) xCode version: 26.0 (17A324) Sample Reproduction Code: struct ContentView: View { var body: some View { Button("Print plain text") { printPlainText() } .buttonStyle(.borderedProminent) .padding() } func printPlainText() { let text = "This is just a sample print" guard UIPrintInteractionController.isPrintingAvailable else { NSLog("Printing not available on this device") return } let info = UIPrintInfo(dictionary: nil) info.outputType = .general info.jobName = "Plain Text" let formatter = UISimpleTextPrintFormatter(text: text) formatter.perPageContentInsets = UIEdgeInsets(top: 36, left: 36, bottom: 36, right: 36) let ctrl = UIPrintInteractionController.shared ctrl.printInfo = info ctrl.printFormatter = formatter DispatchQueue.main.async { ctrl.present(animated: true) { _, completed, error in if let error { NSLog("Print error: \(error.localizedDescription)") } else { NSLog(completed ? "Print completed" : "Print cancelled") } } } } } Also I have added the following values to info.plist: <key>NSLocalNetworkUsageDescription</key> <string>This app needs local network access to discover AirPrint printers.</string> <key>NSBonjourServices</key> <array> <string>_ipp._tcp.</string> <string>_ipps._tcp.</string> <string>_printer._tcp.</string> </array>

Xcode 16.x crashes immediately on launch - MacBook Pro 15,4 mid-2019
Hardware & OS: MacBook Pro 15,4 (mid-2019) macOS 15.7 (24G222) Apple Hardware Diagnostics: Passed (ADP000) Xcode crashes on every launch attempt with identical CoreSimDeviceIO framework failures. This started after an automatic Xcode update and affects multiple Xcode versions. Versions tested (all crash identically): Xcode 16.0 (26.0/24228) Xcode 16.4 (23792) *Unable to download Xcode 15.4 due to my ios Crash signature: Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGKILL Code Signature Invalid) Crashed Thread: 0 (main thread) Crashing Framework: CoreSimDeviceIO.framework Termination Reason: CODESIGNING, Code 2 Invalid Page Troubleshooting completed: Multiple fresh Xcode downloads from Apple Developer portal Security database rebuild and SystemPolicy reset Complete macOS clean reinstall Developer tools reset (xcode-select) NVRAM reset Hardware diagnostics (passed) Additional problem: macOS compatibility enforcement prevents installing Xcode 15.x as a workaround, showing "update to latest version" errors even for properly downloaded older versions. Current status: Unable to perform iOS development. Bug report submitted to Apple (FB# FB20308027). Has anyone with similar MacBook Pro hardware (mid-2019) encountered this? Any successful workarounds for the CoreSimDeviceIO crash or compatibility enforcement blocks? Is there something that I am missing?
