Reply to iOS26 beta: AppClips are not working properly
I have a small update, when upgraded to Xcode 26 (instead of Xcode 16), the appclip did not build right away. The reason was Apple has changed how we need to create the .entitlements files. So I had to do the following: com.apple.developer.parent-application-identifiers - $(PARENT_APP_IDENTIFIER) + $(AppIdentifierPrefix)com.mydomain.parentID i.e add AppIdentifierPrefix + parentID instead of PARENT_APP_IDENTIFIER With this fix, the appClip got build with Xcode 26. My issue with appClip invocation is not yet fully fixed, but hope this will help someone. Let me know if someone found a better solution. Note: I have seen it works in some phones with iOS 26 (like iPhone 14) when I use the appClip code (circular code), but not with plain QR code, and that too not on all phones (still not works on 14 pro max). But once it works on a given phone, it worked on normal QR code too (weird, I know). My best guess is that it' a cache issue.

Issue with Fastlane match – "Couldn't decrypt the repo, Invalid password passed via 'MATCH_PASSWORD'"
Hi everyone, I’m running into an issue using Fastlane to upload my iOS app to TestFlight. When I run my ios beta lane, I get the following error: [18:12:27]: Couldn't decrypt the repo, please make sure you enter the right password! [18:12:27]: Invalid password passed via 'MATCH_PASSWORD' [18:12:27]: Called from Fastfile at line 7 [18:12:27]: 5: desc Build and upload to TestFlight [18:12:27]: 6: lane :beta do [18:12:27]: => 7: match( [18:12:27]: 8: type: appstore, [18:12:27]: 9: readonly: true, [18:12:27]: ``` Fastlane summary: Step Action Time (s) 1 default_platform 0 💥 match 4 The error indicates that the password provided via MATCH_PASSWORD is invalid. I’ve double-checked that the password I’m using is correct. Has anyone else run into this issue, or can anyone suggest how to properly configure MATCH_PASSWORD so Fastlane can decrypt the repo successfully? Thanks in advance!

Share Extensions embedded in visionOS apps
I'm trying to add a feature to my app to allow a user to import items from other apps, like Safari, via the share sheet. I've done this many times on iOS/iPadOS easily with a Share Extension. From what I can tell, Xcode tells me share extensions are not available on visionOS - though my experience on device tells me differently (It seems Reminders, Notes & more implement them somehow.) I was finally able to get it working on device only...but I can now no longer test in the simulator, and have not found a way to distribute this app. When attempting to run on the simulator, I get this issue: Please try again later. Appex bundle at /Users/jason/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Devices/09A70160-4F4F-4F5E-B679-F6F7D876D7EF/data/Library/Caches/com.apple.mobile.installd.staging/temp.6OAEZp/extracted/LaunchBar.app/PlugIns/LaunchBarShareExtension.appex with id co.swiftfox.LaunchBar.ShareExtension specifies a value (com.apple.share-services) for the NSExtensionPointIdentifier key in the NSExtension dictionary in it

Building SimpleAudioDriver example
Hi there, I am trying to build the Apple SimpleAudioDriver example but fail with codesign and/or provisioning. I would be ok for now with the local option, but XCode 16.4 doesn't show the option build to run locally (SIP is disabled). When using Automatically manage signing it ends in a Please file a bug report. I found that having two different development teams tripped it up, so I deleted all certificates and keys and made sure to be only signed into one account in Xcode. Can anyone give advice? Thanks a ton! Here is the URL to the sample: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/coreaudio/building-an-audio-server-plug-in-and-driver-extension macOS: 15.6.1 XCode: 16.4 Hardware: MacBook Pro M2 Max SIP: disabled

ScreenTime API Entitlement / Family Controls For Client
Hello all, Im a new dev in the Apple space and my client and I are needing the special Entitlement for Family Controls. I am building an app that requires the app locking feature from Family Controls. Essentially it’s a productivity / digital wellness app and you select the apps you want to sleep/lock. The problem is the entitlement for the app needs to be in the owners name. However I am not sure how I would work on the app under my Apple ID if they are the ones with the entitlement. I read that they can add me as a developer if they are listed as an organization Apple Dev Account. However im not sure it there anyway around this / alternate solutions. The client hasn’t setup an Apple Dev account yet but I want to make sure they are set up properly. My worry is they wont be able to make an organization account and will only be individual. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Matt

Unable to provision target
I have added an in-app purchase function into my app, and have enabled in-app purchase profile in developer portal(it's on by default and is marked gray in developer portal, I don't know if that's how it supposed to look like). I have issued the agreements and tried signing the app both manually and automatically, but neither of that worked. App can be built successfully in simulator but does not show the simulation window, but cannot build on real device or archive. Errors: Missing com.apple.developer.in-app-purchase, com.apple.developer.in-app-purchase.non-consumable, and com.apple.developer.in-app-purchase.subscription entitlements. Automatic signing failed Xcode failed to provision this target.

Reply to Is there a way to hide the 'Save to another device' option during iOS WebAuthn registration?
Hey there! I saw your post about trying to hide the Save to another device option during Passkey registration—and I’m dealing with the exact same issue right now! We’re building a financial app, so restricting Passkey creation/use to the current device is non-negotiable for security and compliance reasons. I noticed your post was a bit back, so I wanted to check: did you ever figure this out? If you did, any little tips or fixes you could share would be a total lifesaver. Thanks so much in advance!

Reply to Unable to upload an app with ExtensionFoundation
The Info.plist in my Extension is: Is that the actual value? Or did you substitute this line in: com.example.example-extension I've tried tracking your build down on the App Review side but there have been a number so submission and it looks like they've all been approved, so I'm not sure where to find the build that's being rejected. __ Kevin Elliott DTS Engineer, CoreOS/Hardware

Provisioning Profile Defect: App Attest Entitlement (com.apple.developer.app-attest.environment) Missing Despite Enabled Capability
Hello everyone, I'm facing a critical, blocking issue where my developer account (Team ID: K655PX7A46) is unable to generate a valid provisioning profile with the App Attest entitlement. I have confirmed this is a server-side issue and am hoping to get visibility from an Apple engineer who can investigate. The Problem: When I generate a provisioning profile for an App ID with the App Attest capability enabled, the resulting profile is defective. It is missing the required com.apple.developer.app-attest.environment key in its entitlements dictionary, causing Xcode to fail the build. What I Have Proven: The issue is not a misconfiguration. The App Attest capability is correctly enabled and saved on the App ID configuration page. The issue is not isolated to one App ID. I created a brand new App ID from scratch, enabled the capability during creation, and the server still generates a defective profile with the same missing entitlement. I have definitive proof by inspecting the downloaded .mobileprovisio

Reply to Error in gathering code coverage in Xcode16
To be more clear than my post from August 2025, the solution is to rebuild all of your upstream dependencies with a version of XCode that includes the same version of clang that your version of XCode includes. The easiest way to be sure that upstream and your app uses the same clang is to build them both with the same XCode. If you rely on a library that you cannot rebuild, you need to file a bug with the maintainer for them to do that rebuild. Until those things have ALL been built with the same version of clang, you will not be able to see code coverage data.

Reply to Matter Media Playback Cluster
Kevin and ssmith_c for your assistance. I fortunately managed to file in the bug: FB20677188 Thank you! Looking over the bug, there was one point I wanted to comment on: For the Matter Media Device Basic Video Player Type Apple Home does support the commissioning (adding the device to the list of accessories displayed in Home App), but no controls are displayed. Not even the mandatory required controls: ... This type of Matter Device, which is part of the standard, should at least expose the mandatory controls and commands. The idea that Apple (and general ecosystem vendors more broadly) should try and support the full range of the Matter specification is, IMHO, one of those ideas which sounds reasonable on the surface but is, in fact, a very bad idea. First off, quoting myself: The Matter specification itself is sufficiently broad and complex that, in practice, I'm not sure it will ever really be possible to create a high-quality controller app* that actually supports EVERY possible accessory configuration i

Reply to Request File Access from Unity for Apple Vision Pro
I am working on a Gaussian Splatting App using the UnityGaussianSplatting package and building for Apple Vision Pro. I want to be able to load splat (.ply / .splat) files from the Vision Pro's storage into the application. OK. So the main issue to be aware of here is the difference between works fine for a developer and works well for a user. For development purposes, you can basically just set the two keys (UIFileSharingEnabled/LSSupportsOpeningDocumentsInPlace) and then use your Documents directory as your working storage. There could be issues if you edited or deleted those files while your app was actively running, but you will just avoid those issues... by not doing that. On the other hand, if you're planning to ship this to end users then you'll need to use things like file coordination to avoid those issues. Similarly, apps that are more viewer oriented (meaning, they don't edit the files they're working with) often use an import model where they copy (actually clone, so they don't use additio

MetricKit Payload Not Populating on Enterprise
I'm working on adding MetricKit to our iPad application that we distribute internally via Enterprise distribution. I've set up the didReceive functions for both MXMetricPayload and MXDiagnosticPayload. When I build onto a device via Xcode and use the Simulate MetricKit Payloads command, everything works as expected. The issue I'm having is when testing on a device via our enterprise distribution. When I simulate a crash, I am receiving the MXDiagnosticPayload so that part is working correctly. However, I am never receiving a MXMetricPayload. I've been using the app and waiting up to 3 days in some tests and not receiving any payload over that time frame. Some information I found suggested the issue might be MetricKit not working fully on enterprise apps but I haven't been able to find a definitive source on that question. Hoping someone here can guide me on that. Thanks!
