Information about Guidelines 5.1.1 Data Collection and Storage
According to Apple Review Guidelines 5.1 about Legal 5.1.1, indicating that developer can use National ID in the app if it’s related to the core function. In our app we are using National ID to identify the user, given both URL policy and explaination and was not allowed by Apple. We want Apple review team to explain this rule in detail and provide some examples case of core function which will be allowed by Apple.

Clarification on Apple Guideline 5.1.1(v)
Hello, I recently was rejected for the following reason: However, your app does not comply with: Legal 5.1.1 We noticed that your app requires users to register with personal information to access the app’s content and purchase in-app purchase products that are not account based. Apps cannot require user registration prior to allowing access to app content and features that are not associated specifically to the user. User registration that requires the sharing of personal information must be optional or tied to account-specific functionality. To resolve this issue, please revise your app to not require users to register before purchasing in-app purchase products that are not account based. You may explain to the user that registering will enable them to access the purchased content from any of their iOS devices and provide them a way to register at any time, if they wish to later extend access to additional devices. Reply to 5.1.1(x) - How does Apple expect us to support user accounts without contact details?
As this is outside the app, I understand it is authorised. If we are interpreting 5.1.1(x) literally as written, it would be authorised but you won't have the email address to recover the password with. so the question is how do we define a core functionality and prove it requires ID ? And whether 5.1.1.(v) supersedes 5.1.1.(x) Yes that's is probably the key question - does 5.1.1(x) only covers non core functionalities? And is password recovery a core functionality? Have not contacted support yet. I thought Apple Developer Forums would be the correct place to ask these questions first. But I can see that it's kinda quiet here :D So I'll shoot them a message I guess.

Guideline 5.1.1 - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and Storage
Hi I have developed an iOS app with a Category Productivity, but Apple has rejected it because of Guideline 5.1.1 account-based. basically the app is to create recipes and groceries lists and you can share them with other users per Home. The connects to an API to save the data and the user needs an account to manage his data separated than the other users. also the app is totally free it's only require registration with name and email, I don't know why Apple asking me to show some free features before creating account since the app is totally free and no purchase required. this is the message from Apple: From Apple Guideline 5.1.1 - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and Storage We noticed that your app requires users to register or log in to access features that are not account-based. Next Steps To resolve this issue, please revise your app to let users freely access your app’s non account-based features. Apps may not require users to enter personal information to function, except when direc

App Review - 5.1.1 (v) Account Deletion
Regarding Account Deletion (Guideline 5.1.1(v)): Our e-learning app has been rejected in App Review regarding compliance with guideline 5.1.1 (v) Account Deletion. The following is our query: We are including a button that links to the account data deletion request page on our website. This will be placed on the Profile Tab/Page of the app. Will this be sufficient to meet Apple’s guidelines for data deletion requests? The above query is based on the following instruction provided by the Apple Support/review team: The app supports account creation but does not include an option to initiate account deletion. Apps that support account creation must also offer account deletion to give users more control of the data they've shared while using an app. Apps that support account creation must also offer account deletion to give users more control of the data they've shared while using an app. If users need to visit a website to finish deleting their account, include a link directly to the website pa

App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1. - any insights would be greatly appreciated
From 5.1.1: The account deletion option should be easy to find in your app. Is including deletion in the Settings section sufficiently easy to find? People should be able to delete the account along with their personal data. How much of this action must be enabled within the app? From the update all apps that allow for account creation must also allow users to initiate deletion of their account from within the app What constitutes initiating deletion? Is clicking a button that takes you to a pre-filled email requesting deletion sufficient?

Apple rejects ios build - Regarding Guideline 5.1.1
Regarding Guideline 5.1.1, your app requires users to register with personal information that is not directly relevant to your app’s core functionality. Specifically, the following fields or actions are required but do not appear to be directly relevant to your app’s core functionality: Address Zip code To resolve this issue, it would be appropriate to make these fields optional. We look forward to reviewing your resubmitted app. We cannot make these fields optional as these fields are mandatory for the core functionality of our app. Address and zipcodes are necessary for us to get at the time of registration as we have securities running for our app which takes into consideration of zipcode and the address which lets us restrict fraud users from joining at the time of registration.

App rejected 5.1.1(ix) due to covid
HI,I've been getting app review rejections for my handwashing app due to the actual coronavirus situation. They say that this kind of applications should be published under a seller and company name of a recognized institution, while there already are a bunch of applications in the store having similar behaviour, and not from institutions. I don't understand why... handwashing is something totally unrelated to COVID-19, now it just make more sense to do it. Can anyone help and tell me what should I do?The full apple text: We found in our review that your app still provides services or requires sensitive user information related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the COVID-19 pandemic is a public health crisis, services and information related to it are considered to be part of the healthcare industry. In addition, the seller and company names associated with your app are not from a recognized institution, such as a governmental entity, hospital, insurance company, non-governmental organization, or university.Per

Please contact us regarding App Store Review Guidelines 5.1.1.
App Store Review Guidelines 5.1.1 If the app supports account creation, it must also provide the ability to delete accounts within the app. I would like to ask you about the meaning of account deletion of the item. In the case of a financial institution (bank), we ask if it can be interpreted as account termination and cancellation of electronic finance (banking app). thank you.
