iPadOS 26 TabBar text color can't be changed
Hello, I have been trying for some time to change the color of native UITabBar in UITabBarController through UITabBarAppearance, but nothing works and the text is still black in the Xcode Beta 3 on iPadOS 26 while it works correctly in the previous OS versions. Here is the code: let color = UIColor.white let stackedAppearance = UITabBarItemAppearance() stackedAppearance.normal.iconColor = color stackedAppearance.normal.titleTextAttributes = [ .foregroundColor: color ] stackedAppearance.selected.iconColor = color stackedAppearance.selected.titleTextAttributes = [ .foregroundColor: color ] let inlineAppearance = UITabBarItemAppearance() inlineAppearance.normal.iconColor = color inlineAppearance.normal.titleTextAttributes = [ .foregroundColor: color ] inlineAppearance.selected.iconColor = color inlineAppearance.selected.titleTextAttributes = [ .foregroundColor: color ] let tabAppearance = UITabBarAppearance() tabAppearance.compactInlineLayoutAppearance = inlineAppearance tabAppearance.inlineLayoutAppearance = inlineAppearance tabAppearance.stackedLayoutAppearance = stackedAppearance UITabBar.appearance().standardAppearance = tabAppearance UITabBar.appearance().scrollEdgeAppearance = tabAppearance

macOS 26: Can’t add a new VPN configuration
On one of my machines (new MacMini M4Pro) I can’t add any new VPN configuration, doesn’t matter what I use. Trying to set up Tailscale, I get to the point where Tailscale brings up the "Allow VPN configuration" panel. If I hit the "Allow VPN Configuration" button, then macOS pops up its own panel: "Tailscale" Would Like to Add VPN Configurations All network activity on this Mac may be filtered or monitored when using VPN. [Allow] [Don’t Allow] I hit the allow button, and after a short wait the Tailscale panel shows in red "You must allow this to use Tailscale". I can repeat this as often as I want, but Tailscale isn’t added to the VPN configurations. If I use any other third party VPN app, I get similar results: nothing gets added to the VPN configurations. If I use macOS’s System Settings and hit the "Add VPN Configuration" pop-up menu in the VPN section, and e.g. add an IKEv2 setup, it ask me to authenticate, and then provides me with the panel into which to put the relevant settings. I enter some test settings, and then hit the [Create] button... …and nothing! The new VPN configuration doesn’t show up in the list, where it should show up. It’s as if I had done nothing. No matter what I do, the VPN configurations are immutable. I suspect that some folder somewhere is either missing or for some reason has the wrong permissions. Where are these VPN configurations stored? Any other hints on how to fix this? Reinstalling the OS does’t fix this, since this issue persisted across various betas of macOS26

The three dots button won't move inside my navigation item group after resizing in iOS 26
I'm working on an old Objective-C project and I'm trying to adapt iOS 26 and liquid glass to current UI. I'm facing an issue that the three dot buttons won't automatically move inside navigation item bar/group after resizing window, instead it displays on top of the navigation left item. App runs entirely on iPad. What I tried: Added Application Scene Manifest to Info.plist Added SceneDelegate and initialized window by windowScene but most old code are still inside AppDelegate class SceneDelegate: UIResponder, UIWindowSceneDelegate { var window: UIWindow? let appDelegate = UIApplication.shared.delegate as! TDRAppDelegate func scene(_ scene: UIScene, willConnectTo session: UISceneSession, options connectionOptions: UIScene.ConnectionOptions) { guard let scene = (scene as? [self initViewControllers]; NSArray *tabArray = [self getTabArray]; self.mainTabVC = [[MainTabBarViewController alloc] init:tabArray]; self.window.rootViewController = self.mainTabVC; [self.window setHidden:false]; ... } Added these 2 delegate functions to AppDelegate What I'm trying to achieve:

Getting FoundationsModel running in Simulator
I have a mac (M4, MacBook Pro) running Tahoe 26.0 beta. I am running Xcode beta. I can run code that uses the LLM in a #Preview { }. But when I try to run the same code in the simulator, I get the 'device not ready' error and I see the following in the Settings app. Is there anything I can do to get the simulator to past this point and allowing me to test on it with Apple's LLM?

Greyed out app icon on iOS 26 beta

Cannot find 'atomic_flag' in scope in Xcode 26
Hi, In Xcode 16.4, the atomic_flag() method can be used, but in Xcode 26.0, it is not available. An error message saying Cannot find 'atomic_flag' in scope is displayed. This can be reproduced simply by trying to use atomic_flag() in a newly created empty project. Thank you. Xcode: Version 26.0 beta 4 (17A5285i), macOS: 15.5(24F74) import SwiftUI struct ContentView: View { var body: some View { VStack { Image(systemName: "globe") .imageScale(.large) .foregroundStyle(.tint) Text("Hello, world!") } .padding() .task { _ = atomic_flag() } } }

UIKit crash on app built with Xcode 26 but run on iOS 18.X
An app built on Xcode 26 (beta4) presents various UIViewCOntrollers. Presentation of any UIViewController that contains a UIToolbar leads to a UIKit crash when run on an iOS 18.5 device, it does not crash when run on iOS 26. The exception logged: *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidUnarchiveOperationException', reason: 'Could not instantiate class named TtGC5UIKit17UICoreHostingViewVCS_21ToolbarVisualProvider8RootView because no class named TtGC5UIKit17UICoreHostingViewVCS_21ToolbarVisualProvider8RootView was found; the class needs to be defined in source code or linked in from a library (ensure the class is part of the correct target)' Anyone else seen this? I've submitted a bug report via Feedback Assistant, including a minimal Xcode workspace that reproduces the crash, hoping this will get some attention.

Illegible navigation title when presenting Map view
When building with the iOS 26 SDK (currently beta 4), the navigation title is often illegible when rendering a Map view. For example, note how the title "Choose Location" is obscured by the map's text ("South America") in the screenshot below: This screenshot is the result of the following view code: import MapKit import SwiftUI struct Demo: View { var body: some View { NavigationStack { Map() .navigationTitle(Text("Choose Location")) .navigationBarTitleDisplayMode(.inline) } } } I tried using the scrollEdgeEffectStyle(_:for:) modifier to apply a scroll edge effect to the top of the screen, in hopes of making the title legible, but that doesn't seem to have any effect. Specifically, the following code seems to produce the exact same result shown in the screenshot above. import MapKit import SwiftUI struct Demo: View { var body: some View { NavigationStack { Map() .scrollEdgeEffectStyle(.hard, for: .top) // ⬅️ no apparent effect .navigationTitle(Text("Choose Location")) .navigationBarTitleDisplayMode(.inline) } } } Is there a recommended way to resolve this issue so that the navigation title is always readable?

tabBarMinimizeBehavior not working if subview has TabView with .tabViewStyle(.page)
We are using a TabView as the TabBarController in our app for main navigation. On one of the tabs we have a view that consists of a TabView with .tabViewStyle(.page) in order to scroll horizontally between pages inside of that specific tab. The .tabBarMinimizeBehavior(.onScrollDown) works on all the other TabItem views, but for this one it does not recognise any vertical scrolling in any of the pages, in order to minimize the TabBar. I believe this is a bug? If we don't wrap the views inside the TabView with .page style, we are able to get the expected behaviour using the tabBarMinimizeBehavior. Please let us know if this is going to be fixed in a future iOS 26 beta release.

Replacement for deprecated CLPlacemark.region?
Hello, I use CLGeocoder to get the CLLocationCoordinate2D and CLRegion for an address. Now that this is deprecated in OS 26, I don't see a replacement for that property on MKMapItem via MKMapItemRequest and PlaceDescriptor. I've filed FB19027378 on this issue. Basically I have some addresses that have a street address, and others that just have a city. With CLGeocoder, when geocoding just the city, the CLRegion was set such that I could show my map zoomed out just right. I'm not sure how to do that now. Thanks!

macOS Tahoe Beta 4 disabled __asm keyword for Metal
Hi, developers, I maintain a shipped app that uses string concatenation to construct Metal shader and compile on-device. Beta 4 seems disabled __asm keyword, resulting the compilation failure. The error is: v2/GEMMKernel.cpp:229: error: program_source:23:9: error: illegal string literal in 'asm' __asm("air.simdgroup_async_copy_1d.p3i8.p1i8"); The relevant code is available at https://github.com/liuliu/ccv/blob/unstable/lib/nnc/mfa/v2/GEMMHeaders.cpp#L30 although any __asm will trip this. Please give us guidance on whether this is a regression or this will be something enforced in 26 release. Personally, I would consider this as a bug given it won't impact anything "compiled" shaders. Thanks for your patience reading this!

iOS 26 HLS Audio Track Display Behavior: EXT-X-MEDIA NAME vs LANGUAGE Attributes
Hello Apple Developer Community, I am seeking clarification on the intended display behavior of HLS audio tracks within the iOS 26 (or current beta) native player, specifically concerning the NAME and LANGUAGE attributes of the EXT-X-MEDIA tag. In our HLS manifests, we define alternative audio tracks using EXT-X-MEDIA tags, like so: #EXT-X-MEDIA:TYPE=AUDIO,GROUP-ID="audio",LANGUAGE="ja",NAME="AUDIO-1",DEFAULT=YES,AUTOSELECT=YES,URI="audio_ja.m3u8" #EXT-X-MEDIA:TYPE=AUDIO,GROUP-ID="audio",LANGUAGE="ja",NAME="AUDIO-2",URI="audio_en.m3u8" Our observation is that when an audio track is selected and its name is displayed in the native iOS media controls (e.g., Control Center or within a full-screen video player's UI), the value specified in the NAME attribute ("AUDIO-1", "AUDIO-2") does not seem to be used. Instead, the display appears to derive from the LANGUAGE attribute ("ja", "en"), often showing the system's localized string for that language (e.g., "Japanese", "English"). We would like to understand the official or intended behavior regarding this. Is it the expected behavior for the iOS native player to prioritize the LANGUAGE attribute (or its localized equivalent) over the NAME attribute for displaying the selected audio track's label? If this is the intended design, what is the recommended best practice for developers who wish to present a custom, human-readable name for audio tracks (beyond the standard language name) in the native iOS UI? Are there any specific AVPlayer properties or AVMediaSelectionOption considerations that would allow more granular control over this display, or is this entirely managed by the system based on the LANGUAGE attribute? Any insights or official guidance on this behavior in iOS 26 (and potentially previous versions) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and assistance.

Xcode 26 Beta Rebooting Problems
Hi, I've been running Xcode 26 beta ever since Beta 1 and haven't had rebooting problems. Now with Xcode beta (Version 26.0 beta 4 (17A5285i)) I'll be working on a project when the system (Mac mini 2025) suddenly reboots itself. This has been going on since beta 3. I am also running MacOS 26.0 Beta (25A5316i). I have filed a bug report. Is anyone else having this problem? Thanks, Dan Uff

Xcode 26 Beta Crash on iOS 18 and below – UIToolbar in XIB/Storyboard Causes
Hey everyone, Just wanted to share a critical issue we’ve encountered while testing our app on iOS 18 simulators and devices using Xcode 26 Beta 3: Crash Details We're seeing the following fatal exception during launch: NSInvalidUnarchiveOperationException Could not instantiate class named _TtGC5UIKit17UICoreHostingViewVCS_21ToolbarVisualProvider8RootView_ because no class named _TtGC5UIKit17UICoreHostingViewVCS_21ToolbarVisualProvider8RootView_ was found... LanguageModelStream and collecting the final output
I have a Generable type with many elements. I am using a stream() to incrementally process the output (Generable.PartiallyGenerated?) content. At the end, I want to pass the final version (not partially generated) to another function. I cannot seem to find a good way to convert from a MyGenerable.PartiallyGenerated to a MyGenerable. Am I missing some functionality in the APIs?

This can be reproduced simply by trying to use atomic_flag() in a newly created empty project. Thank you. Xcode: Version 26.0 beta 4 (17A5285i), macOS: 15.5(24F74) import SwiftUI struct ContentView: View { var body: some View { VStack { Image(systemName: "globe") .imageScale(.large) .foregroundStyle(.tint) Text("Hello, world!") } .padding() .task { _ = atomic_flag() } } }

The crash originates from Storyboards/XIBs that include a UIToolbar. It appears UIKit is referencing an internal SwiftUI-related class (UICoreHostingView), which isn't present at runtime — leading to immediate crashes.
