How Can I Enable NFC Functionality in an Apple Wallet Pass?
Hello, I am working on an Apple Wallet pass with NFC functionality but have been facing issues with getting it to work. The pass gets added to Wallet, but the NFC feature does not seem to activate. Could someone provide a detailed, step-by-step process to properly enable NFC in an Apple Wallet pass? Here is what I have done so far: 1. Set up a Pass Type ID and Certificates: I have registered a Pass Type ID in my Apple Developer account. I have generated and installed the required certificates (Pass Type ID certificate and WWDR certificate). 2. Adding the NFC Field: Added the following nfc field to my pass.json file: { "formatVersion": 1, "passTypeIdentifier": "pass.com.example.mypass", "serialNumber": "123456", "teamIdentifier": "TEAMID12345", "webServiceURL": "https://example.com/api/passes", "authenticationToken": "my_secure_token", "nfc": { "message": "Tap to unlock door", "encryptionPublicKey": "MY_ENCRYPTION_PUBLIC_KEY", "payload": "encrypted_nfc_payload" }, "organizationName": "My Company", "description": "NFC-Enabled Access Pass", "logoText": "My NFC Pass", "foregroundColor": "rgb(255, 255, 255)", "backgroundColor": "rgb(0, 0, 0)", "barcode": { "format": "PKBarcodeFormatQR", "message": "https://example.com", "messageEncoding": "iso-8859-1" } } 3. Tested the Pass: The pass is added to Wallet, but NFC functionality is not working. When the nfc field is removed, the pass works fine without NFC. Questions: 1. Could you provide a comprehensive list of required steps to enable NFC in an Apple Wallet pass, including any specific details on encryption, payload, and public key formatting? 2. Are there any additional configurations or settings that I might be missing? 3. Is there any official documentation or specific tools recommended for testing NFC-enabled passes? Any guidance or solutions to enable NFC in this pass would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Apple Wallet Passes GET request with undefined authorization params from wallet device
Hello! I am getting undefined in the values of authorization and passesUpdatedSince when devices send a GET request to the v1/devices/{deviceLibraryIdentifier}/registrations/{passTypeIdentifier}?passesUpdatedSince={previousLastUpdated} route. Should I double check any settings? Because if I test it trhough postman works like a charm. POST or DELETE requests to v1/devices/{deviceLibraryIdentifier}/registrations/{passTypeIdentifier}/{serialNumber} to work perfectly from device as well. Both receive the correct parameters from the device and can be authenticated to execute the corresponding methods. I hope I have luck in getting some guidance :) Thank you!

FinanceKit Mock Data
Hello, I'm building an expense management app and have the necessary FinanceKit entitlements. However I'm based in India and hence do not have access to an Apple Card. Is there anyway to test FinanceKit with some sort of mock data? I have tried following the developer documentation and built a minimal implementation to share via Testflight to my users. However it's failing to get any transaction data. I'm unable to debug the code myself and if anyone here has valid entitlements along with Apple Card, I'd appreciate if you could debug an example project I made below: https://github.com/tanmays/FinanceKitExample Feedback #FB14136552

Unable to push provision any cards to Apple Pay from our app
We have recently begun testing in our production environment and have been unable to push provision any cards, receiving a 500 error: default 11:15:59.136742-0300 PassbookUIService Response: https://pr-pod9-smp-device.apple.com:443/broker/v4/devices/SEID_NUMBER/cards 500 Time profile: 0.486102 seconds { x-conversation-id = "52463d9f488e428f829633a1518ea72d" Vary = "accept-language" Content-Type = "application/json" x-pod = "pr-pod9" x-keystone-correlationid = "058F11DE-839F-47AC-A623-741BF32CEA80" Date = "Thu, 16 Jan 2025 14:15:58 GMT" x-apay-service-response-details = "via_upstream" Content-Length = "81" x-envoy-upstream-service-time = "172" x-pod-region = "paymentpass.com.apple" } { statusCode = 500; statusMessage = "Broker Service Response exception"; } In 05/2024 we received an e-mail from applepayentitlementsapple.com confirming the granting of in-app provisioning entitlements for our production apps. We've already sent a feedback on Feedback Assistant. Here is the code to track: FB16344669. Also, we sent another e-mail to applepayentitlementsapple.com, Case-ID: 11317916, but we haven't received a reply yet. Can you help us? We are concerned, since our pre-certification starts on January 27th. Thanks in advance.

Issue with Wallet App: Deep Linking Fails on First Attempt but Works on Second
Hello, We have implemented In-App Verification using both SMS and mobile app options. While SMS functions as expected, selecting the mobile app for verification in the Wallet app does not open our app on the first attempt. Instead, the verification window simply dismisses. However, if I select "Complete Verification" again and choose the mobile app, deep linking works as expected, and our app opens correctly. This issue occurs with any bank card and app I’ve tested in Wallet. Could this be a bug in the Wallet app where deep linking fails on the first attempt but works on the second?

Wallet Extension stopped working
Hello, I am facing a problem when trying to start the Wallet Extension Flow. It seems that even though the override func status(completion: @escaping (PKIssuerProvisioningExtensionStatus) -> Void) of the PKIssuerProvisioningExtensionHandler is called, the override func passEntries(completion: @escaping ([PKIssuerProvisioningExtensionPassEntry]) -> Void) is not called. Note that this issue is reproduced in a device with iOS 18.1 whereas it is working correctly in a device with iOS 17.4. Has something changed regarding the Wallet Extension in iOS 18.1 and above?

How to use and test Wallet Transaction Shortcut in iOS Simulator?
The Shortcuts app offers the possibility to trigger shortcuts/intends when a wallet credit card is used and a new transaction is created. I would like to add transaction details to one of my apps and use such a shortcut for it. Other apps do the exact same thing, so this should not be a problem. Adding a shortcut to my app was not a big deal. However, how can this be tested on simulator? When trying to add a new automatization in the Shortcuts app using a wallet transaction as trigger I cannot finish the setup dialog since the Next button is disabled. I assume this is because no card is configured. When trying to add a card in Wallet I just receive that this was not successful. I have connected the simulator to a Sandbox Apple ID account using a region which supports Apple Pay (US). Using a real account does not solve the problem. Any idea how to get this working? Using real transaction within a store could obviously not be the solution for debugging.

Sandbox/Wallet/Apple Pay hacker
So this is a long shot. My apple device has been hacked. In March, my credit card, which is in apple pay, started to get used, until May. It was used for thousands of dollars. In July i discovered installed and generally “invisible” files in the files app. I’ve called All IPhone that was a contact file. when i started deleting everything from my phone, all messages and photos and accounts, it became obvious i was signed into the app store in a sandbox account i never signed up for or into. I believe this is one method by device as compromised through apple. does anyone have any ideas on if it would be possible for a hacker to use my apple pay through some scam developer who had initiated a testing agreement between myself and them?

Apple Wallet pass registration sometimes doesn't trigger
Hello, we re developing a loyalty platform for end users and as such emit Apple wallet store cards. Problem we're facing is that the HTTP POST /v1/devices/:deviceLibraryIdentifier/registrations/:passTypeIdentifier/:serialNumber in some cases doesn't come through and we have no idea why. This only happens to a small percentage of customers, others work just fine. Does anyone have an idea why this might happen? I believe our setup is correct when 90% of customers work and we receive these HTTP requests to our server.

The app icon is not appearing under the "From Apps on Your iPhone" section in Apple Wallet.
Hello, We are integrating Apple Wallet functionality using the Thales SDK. While we’ve successfully implemented In-App provisioning, we are encountering an issue with the Wallet Extension. I followed the documentation provided here to implement the Apple Wallet Extension: https://developer.dbp.thalescloud.io/docs/d1-developer-portal/ab10ea4059dx1-apple-wallet-extension I’ve implemented everything as per the guide, but I’m still unable to see my app logo in the Wallet Extension under "From Apps on Your iPhone." Could anyone help identify what might be missing or point me in the right direction to resolve this issue. Thanks!

Launching directly to card information in Apple Wallet for card verification
Hi, for iOS in-app push provisioning flow, and for a card that is in already in requiresActivation state, is it possible from our app UI to launch to the card's verification screen either as a in-app flow (like how in-app push provisioning flow is doing) or Apple Wallet? So far the current process is that it will prompt user to provision the card again (only to show This Card is Already in Wallet error), or to open the card in tap-to-pay mode, or adding a new card flow in Apple Wallet. Am I missing any PassKit SDK on this?

Inconsistent Wallet App Behavior with Mocked Data in PKIssuerProvisioningExtensionHandler
We are implementing Apple Pay and Wallet features in our app and using mocked data for testing purposes. Specifically, in the status(completion:) method of PKIssuerProvisioningExtensionHandler, we return: passEntriesAvailable: true, remotePassEntriesAvailable: true, requiresAuthentication: true, In the passEntries(completion:) method, we provide mocked data for our card. The issue is that the app icon inconsistently appears under the "From Apps on Your iPhone" section in the Wallet app. Sometimes it shows up as expected, but other times it does not. On recent occasions, when the app is selected and mocked authorization is paased, the behavior includes a system error 'Cannot Add Card' even though we provided status that indicates that the app has available cards for Wallet. For reference: The app uses two bundle IDs supporting in-app provisioning and PNO Pass Metadata has not been configured yet. Could you help clarify the potential reasons for this inconsistent behavior?

Event tickets in Apple Wallet: QR Code size
Earlier this year implemented saving event tickets to Apple Wallet (and Google Wallet, which was painful by comparison!), as an optional alternative to recipients leaving the QR Codes in email or printing them. Scanning barcodes on entry is done using camera on phones (either iPhone or Android). This is a somewhat pressured situation with lots of people needing scans in quite a short period of time. I do not do this myself but I do get feedback. it was reported to me that Apple Wallet barcodes are significantly harder to scan accurately than those in Google Wallet. They think that is because the Apple QR Codes are quite a bit smaller (and presumably harder, therefore, to get focussed properly). They do work, it just takes longer to get a successful scan. This doesn’t seem to be anything I can control, and there seems to be plenty of space to make them bigger, even on my iPhone mini. These aren’t terribly dense barcodes; I imagine they would be harder still if they were. I also guess specialised barcode readers might do better, but we don’t have that luxury. I’d appreciate it if they could be bigger when displayed in Apple Wallet, or at least to have that as an option.

Determining If a User's Device is capable of supporting an Apple Wallet Pass
We are developing an Add To Wallet flow on our website where we add the "Add To Wallet" button to a user portal for them to be able to add a loyalty card pass to their Apple Wallet. In other projects with Apple Pay, we can check whether or not the browser supports the JS library by checking if it exists on the global window property (if (window.ApplePaySession) { //do stuff } Is there an equivalent to determine if the user's device is capable of accepting a Wallet pass?

Devices sometimes do not fetch updated Wallet passes
Hello, I'm using Apple Wallet passes with a custom backend for distributing and updating them, as described in the documentation (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/walletpasses). I'm sometimes seeing a behaviour where the device does not download an updated pass even though the push notification for informing about the changes has been successfully sent (I've received a success response from APNs). APNs documentation says that it should retry sending the notification if the device is not reachable, but in the cases I'm describing here, the request from the device to fetch the updated pass never arrives. I don't have the apns-expiration header set. Also, I've checked the load balancer and firewall logs, etc. and there are no traces of the requests. Any thoughts on what might be the issue here? Or how to debug this further?
