Auto Dial - 911
My app monitors users heart beats and if critical reading is noticed, it auto -dials 911 for emergency and ambulance help. I was under the impression that auto-dial may not be permitted or possible on the platform. Can anyone confirm and provide any additional guidance on if it is possible in the newer SDK/API stack or using any 3rd party service ? Thank you in advance!!

External Hardware Development for File Transfer System
Howdy! I'm in the R&D phase of this project and I need help. I can't find any sources that verify what I want to do is even possible. I need to connect an iPhone or iPad using a USB cord to an external device which will transfer files to the iPhone or iPad. I have an app already made which can organize the files and whatever else I need to do (app is from a similar project). I'll refer to this device as Alfred (for poops and giggles) The plan (if possible) is for Alfred to recognize my app and use its documents folder as the destination of the transfer. The iDevice doesn't have to communicate with Alfred, but that would be a bonus. I don't want Alfred to run on an SOC. My goal is to have it be as simple as possible. No OS, just firmware. If the only way to interact with Apple Devices is Bluetooth or Wifi than so be it. If Matter or Thread could be utilized I wouldn't be apposed. Any help with this project would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

How to turn off shortcuts notifications permanently apart from turning it off via screen time as it keeps turning itself back ON.
I have created a configuration profile which basically just turns off notifications for Shortcuts app but I am unable to install it on my iPhone as I am getting the following error “This profile can be installed on a supervised device only” can someone please help me with this? Would also appreciate if you have another way to turn off shortcuts notifications permanently since when I turn it off via screen time it keeps turning itself ON every couple of days.

Apple Pay SDK JS version policy
What is the version policy for the Apple Pay SDK Javascript ? The documentation refers to this link : https://applepay.cdn-apple.com/jsapi/1.latest/apple-pay-sdk.js The future updates will overrride the file on that link ? Is there a way to be notified of any changes ? We are using a previous version named v1 : https://applepay.cdn-apple.com/jsapi/v1/apple-pay-sdk.js What are the risks not using changing to the lastesdt link ? Thank you for your help.

NFC Communication Issues on iPhone 12–15 with NXP NTAG 5 (ISO15693 Pass-Through Mode)
We are developing an iOS app that communicates with a device using an NXP NTAG 5 chip in ISO15693 pass-through mode. While the app works flawlessly on older iPhone models (iPhone 8, SE, X) and most Android devices, we are experiencing severe reliability issues on iPhone 12, 13, 14, and 15. Issue Summary On newer iPhones (12–15), 90% of communication attempts fail. Retry strategies do not work, as the NFC session is unexpectedly canceled while handling CoreNFC custom commands. The issue is not consistent—sometimes all requests fail immediately, while other times, a batch of reads might succeed unexpectedly before failing again. Technical Details The failure occurs while executing the following request, which should return 256 bytes: tag.customCommand(requestFlags: .highDataRate, customCommandCode: commandCode, customRequestParameters: Data(byteArray)) { (responseData, error) in } The returned error is: -[NFCTagReaderSession transceive:tagUpdate:error:]:897 Error Domain=NFCError Code=100 "Tag connection lost" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Tag connection lost} For reference, we tested a comparable STM ST25 chip in ISO15693 and NDEF mode, and the exact same issue occurs. Observations and Debugging Attempts Positioning of the NFC antenna has been tested extensively. Disabling Bluetooth and Wi-Fi does not improve reliability. Rebooting the device or waiting between attempts sometimes improves success rates but does not provide a structural fix. When reading multiple blocks (e.g., 15 blocks of 256 bytes each): The process often fails within the first three blocks. After multiple failures, it may suddenly succeed in reading all blocks in one go before returning to a series of failures. The nfcd logs suggest issues at the low-level NFC and SPMI layers, indicating potential hardware or firmware-related problems: error 17:36:18.289099+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogStr:65 NCI DATA RSP : Timer expired before data is received! error 17:36:18.292936+0100 nfcd NFHardwareSerialQuerySPMIError:1339 "Invalid argument" errno=22 setsockopt: SYSPROTO_CONTROL:IO_STOCKHOLM_SPMIERRORS error 17:36:18.293036+0100 nfcd phTmlNfc_SpmiDrvErrorStatus:1157 "Invalid argument" errno=22 Failed to query SPMI error registers error 17:36:18.293235+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogStr:65 phLibNfc_SpmiStsRegInfoNtfHandler: Read Spmi Status Failed - pInfo set to NULL error 17:36:18.293313+0100 nfcd _Callback_NFDriverNotifyGeneral:2353 Unknown notification: 0x5b error 17:36:18.294163+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogStr:65 Target Lost!! error 17:36:18.294678+0100 nfcd -[_NFReaderSession handleSecureElementTransactionData:appletIdentifier:]:164 Unimplemented error 17:36:18.294760+0100 nfcd -[_NFReaderSession handleSecureElementTransactionData:appletIdentifier:]:164 Unimplemented error 17:36:18.320132+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogStr:65 ISO15693 XchgData,PH_NCINFC_STATUS_RF_FRAME_CORRUPTED Detected by NFCC during Data Exchange error 17:36:18.320291+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogU32:74 phNciNfc_ChkDataRetransmission: Re-transmitting Data pkt Attempt..=1 error 17:36:18.622050+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogStr:65 NCI DATA RSP : Timer expired before data is received! error 17:36:18.625857+0100 nfcd NFHardwareSerialQuerySPMIError:1339 "Invalid argument" errno=22 setsockopt: SYSPROTO_CONTROL:IO_STOCKHOLM_SPMIERRORS error 17:36:18.625919+0100 nfcd phTmlNfc_SpmiDrvErrorStatus:1157 "Invalid argument" errno=22 Failed to query SPMI error registers error 17:36:18.626132+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogStr:65 phLibNfc_SpmiStsRegInfoNtfHandler: Read Spmi Status Failed - pInfo set to NULL error 17:36:18.626182+0100 nfcd _Callback_NFDriverNotifyGeneral:2353 Unknown notification: 0x5b error 17:36:18.626899+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogStr:65 Target Lost!! error 17:36:18.627482+0100 nfcd -[_NFReaderSession handleSecureElementTransactionData:appletIdentifier:]:164 Unimplemented error 17:36:18.627568+0100 nfcd -[_NFReaderSession handleSecureElementTransactionData:appletIdentifier:]:164 Unimplemented error 17:36:18.833174+0100 nfcd -[_NFReaderSession handleSecureElementTransactionData:appletIdentifier:]:164 Unimplemented error 17:36:19.145289+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogStr:65 NCI DATA RSP : Timer expired before data is received! error 17:36:19.149233+0100 nfcd NFHardwareSerialQuerySPMIError:1339 "Invalid argument" errno=22 setsockopt: SYSPROTO_CONTROL:IO_STOCKHOLM_SPMIERRORS error 17:36:19.149353+0100 nfcd phTmlNfc_SpmiDrvErrorStatus:1157 "Invalid argument" errno=22 Failed to query SPMI error registers error 17:36:19.149730+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogStr:65 phLibNfc_SpmiStsRegInfoNtfHandler: Read Spmi Status Failed - pInfo set to NULL error 17:36:19.149797+0100 nfcd _Callback_NFDriverNotifyGeneral:2353 Unknown notification: 0x5b error 17:36:19.150463+0100 nfcd phOsalNfc_LogStr:65 Target Lost!! Any solutions? Has anyone else encountered similar behavior with CoreNFC on iPhone 12–15? Could this be related to changes in NFC hardware or power management in newer iPhone models? Any suggestions on possible workarounds or alternative approaches would be greatly appreciated.

HCE Entitlement in EEA: Picking the correct category
Hi all, we are a Software company located in the EU. Or focus is building solutions for closed-loop fuel cards. To allow our customers to move to "virtual" closed-loop cards, we would like to request a HCE Entitlement. When filling the HCE entitlement form non of the provided Use Cases seemed to cover our case. In addition I'm unsure if AID Prefixes are mandatory for the closed-loop use case our App is meant for. I would like to avoid starting an HCE entitlement process with incorrect parameters and delay the overall process due to this. Thanks for any insights / feedback in advance.

Issue with UWB ranging on DWM3001CDK using NINearbyAccessoryConfiguration in Background mode
Hi, I’m trying to perform UWB ranging between an iPhone and a Qorvo DWM3001CDK accessory using Apple NI’s NINearbyAccessoryConfiguration class. I’ve followed the steps described in the official Apple documentation (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/nearbyinteraction/ninearbyaccessoryconfiguration), specifically for enabling background mode using the init(accessoryData:bluetoothPeerIdentifier:) initializer. The configuration is successfully created, and background mode is enabled. However, when the iPhone starts the session, I doesn’t receive any ranging data from the DWM3001CDK, and the session ends with a timeout. Interestingly, if I use the init(data:) initializer, I can successfully receive ranging data, but this only works in foreground mode, which doesn’t meet my requirements. Steps I’ve followed: Used Core Bluetooth to discover and pair the accessory. Retrieved the configuration data from the accessory according to the third-party UWB device specifications. Initialized the configuration using NINearbyAccessoryConfiguration(accessoryData:bluetoothPeerIdentifier:) for background mode. Started the session with NISession.run(configuration). Waited for updates in the delegate method session(_:didUpdate:). Specific questions: Are there additional requirements for using init(accessoryData:bluetoothPeerIdentifier:) to enable background UWB ranging with the DWM3001CDK? Is there a known difference in how init(data:) and init(accessoryData:bluetoothPeerIdentifier:) handle the ranging process? Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

CardSession error handling with respond method
Hello, in the sample code found in the Apple CardSession documentation, there are commented line in the APDU respond method: case .received(let cardAPDU): do { /// Call handler to process received input and produce a response. let responseAPDU = ProcessAPDU(cardAPDU.payload) try await cardAPDU.respond(response: responseAPDU) } catch { /// Handle the error from respond(response:). If the error is /// CardSession.Error.transmissionError, then retry by calling /// CardSession.APDU.respond(response:) again. } in the catch part, it says that we should handle the error from respond and retry in case of transmission error, how can we achieve that ? How can we check the error ? Could you give a sample code for that ? best regards

What are the criteria for CLVisit in CoreLocation?
There is no official documentation specifying the exact criteria for determining a CLVisit. For example, if a user starts at a target location, will the following method be called? func locationManager(_ manager: CLLocationManager, didVisit visit: CLVisit) This did not work during my testing. It was only successfully triggered when starting from a distant location and arriving at the target point. It would be helpful to know the exact conditions, such as how long a user must stay at a location for it to be considered a visit. Are there any specific thresholds (e.g., minimum duration, distance moved) that determine when this method is triggered?

How to Delete Tips from CloudKit?
Hi! I use Tips with CloudKit and it works very well, however when a user want to remove their data from CloudKit, how to do that? In CoreData with CloudKit area, NSPersistentCloudKitContainer have purgeObjectsAndRecordsInZone to delete both local managed objects and CloudKit records, however there is no information about the TipKit deletion. Does anyone know ideas?

Schema Migrations with CloudKit Not Working
I have not had any successful Schema Migration with CloudKit so far so I'm trying to do with with just very basic attributes, with multiple Versioned Schemas This is the code in my App Main var sharedModelContainer: ModelContainer = { let schema = Schema(versionedSchema: AppSchemaV4.self) do { return try ModelContainer( for: schema, migrationPlan: AppMigrationPlan.self, configurations: ModelConfiguration(cloudKitDatabase: .automatic)) } catch { fatalError("Could not create ModelContainer: \(error)") } }() var body: some Scene { WindowGroup { ItemListView() } .modelContainer(sharedModelContainer) } And this is the code for my MigrationPlan and VersionedSchemas. typealias Item = AppSchemaV4.Item3 enum AppMigrationPlan: SchemaMigrationPlan { static var schemas: [any VersionedSchema.Type] { [AppSchemaV1.self, AppSchemaV2.self, AppSchemaV3.self, AppSchemaV4.self] } static var stages: [MigrationStage] { [migrateV1toV2, migrateV2toV3, migrateV3toV4] } static let migrateV1toV2 = MigrationStage.lightweight( fromVersion: AppSchemaV1.self, toVersion: AppSchemaV2.self ) static let migrateV2toV3 = MigrationStage.lightweight( fromVersion: AppSchemaV2.self, toVersion: AppSchemaV3.self ) static let migrateV3toV4 = MigrationStage.custom( fromVersion: AppSchemaV3.self, toVersion: AppSchemaV4.self, willMigrate: nil, didMigrate: { context in // Fetch all Item1 instances let item1Descriptor = FetchDescriptor<AppSchemaV3.Item1>() let items1 = try context.fetch(item1Descriptor) // Fetch all Item2 instances let item2Descriptor = FetchDescriptor<AppSchemaV3.Item2>() let items2 = try context.fetch(item2Descriptor) // Convert Item1 to Item3 for item in items1 { let newItem = AppSchemaV4.Item3(name: item.name, text: "Migrated from Item1 on \(item.date)") context.insert(newItem) } // Convert Item2 to Item3 for item in items2 { let newItem = AppSchemaV4.Item3(name: item.name, text: "Migrated from Item2 with value \(item.value)") context.insert(newItem) } try? context.save() } ) } enum AppSchemaV1: VersionedSchema { static var versionIdentifier: Schema.Version = Schema.Version(1, 0, 0) static var models: [any PersistentModel.Type] { [Item1.self] } @Model class Item1 { var name: String = "" init(name: String) { self.name = name } } } enum AppSchemaV2: VersionedSchema { static var versionIdentifier: Schema.Version = Schema.Version(2, 0, 0) static var models: [any PersistentModel.Type] { [Item1.self] } @Model class Item1 { var name: String = "" var date: Date = Date() init(name: String) { self.name = name self.date = Date() } } } enum AppSchemaV3: VersionedSchema { static var versionIdentifier: Schema.Version = Schema.Version(3, 0, 0) static var models: [any PersistentModel.Type] { [Item1.self, Item2.self] } @Model class Item1 { var name: String = "" var date: Date = Date() init(name: String) { self.name = name self.date = Date() } } @Model class Item2 { var name: String = "" var value: Int = 0 init(name: String, value: Int) { self.name = name self.value = value } } } enum AppSchemaV4: VersionedSchema { static var versionIdentifier: Schema.Version = Schema.Version(4, 0, 0) static var models: [any PersistentModel.Type] { [Item1.self, Item2.self, Item3.self] } @Model class Item1 { var name: String = "" var date: Date = Date() init(name: String) { self.name = name self.date = Date() } } @Model class Item2 { var name: String = "" var value: Int = 0 init(name: String, value: Int) { self.name = name self.value = value } } @Model class Item3 { var name: String = "" var text: String = "" init(name: String, text: String) { self.name = name self.text = text } } } My experiment was: To create Items for every version of the schema Updating the typealias along the way to reflect the latest Item version. Updating the Schema in my ModelContainer to reflect the latest Schema Version. By AppSchemaV4, I have expected all my Items to be displayed/migrated to Item3, but it does not seem to be the case. I can only see newly created Item3 records. My question is, is there something wrong with how I'm doing the migrations? or are migrations not really working with CloudKit right now?

Gathering Required Information for Troubleshooting Wallet Issues
Hi, To ensure the issue is not caused by an error within your app or web service request, please review the following documentation: Wallet Passes Wallet Developer Guide If the resources above don’t help identify the cause of the error, please provide more information about your app or web services to get started. To prevent sending sensitive credentials in plain text, create a report in Feedback Assistant to share the details requested below. Additionally, if the error is something we need to investigate further, the appropriate engineering teams also have access to the same information and can communicate with you directly within Feedback Assistant for more information, as needed. Please follow the instructions below to submit your report. For issues occurring with your native app or web service, perform the following steps: Install the Wallet profile on your iOS or watchOS device. Reproduce the issue and make a note of the timestamp when the issue occurred, while optionally capturing screenshots or video. Gather a sysdiagnose on the same iOS or watchOS device. Create a Feedback Assistant report with the following information: The serial number of the device. Open Settings > General > About > Serial Number (tap and hold to copy). The SEID (Secure Element Identifier) of the device, represented as a HEX encoded string. Open Settings > General > About > SEID (tap and hold to copy). The sysdiagnose gathered after reproducing the issue. The .pkpass file(s), pass signing certificate(s) and pass type identiifier(s) (optional). The timestamp of when the issue was reproduced. Screenshots or videos of errors and unexpected behaviors (optional). Important: From the logs gathered above, you should be able to determine the cause of the failure from PassbookUIService, PassKit or PassKitCore, and by filtering for your SEID or pass type identifier in the Safari Web Inspector. See Inspecting Safari on macOS to learn more. Submitting your feedback Before you submit to Feedback Assistant, please confirm the requested information above is included in your feedback. Failure to provide the requested information will only delay my investigation into the reported issue within your Wallet pass implementation. After your submission to Feedback Assistant is complete, please respond in your existing Developer Forums post with the Feedback ID. Once received, I can begin my investigation and determine if this issue is caused by an error within your web implementation, a configuration issue within your developer account, or an underlying system bug. Cheers, Paris X Pinkney |  WWDR | DTS Engineer

Configuring the 72nd action for the Matter switch on AppleHome will fail
I use Homepod Mini as the gateway and have bound 9 Matter lights and 7 Matter switches. Each of my switches has 12 buttons, and each button supports three functions: single click, double click, and long press. Therefore, a total of 252 actions can be configured for 7 * 12 * 3. Currently, a total of 71 actions are configured for the 7 Matter switches. When configuring the 72nd action, the app will prompt that the operation cannot be completed. But if you delete a few previously configured actions, such as 68 actions, then you can configure 3 more actions (69, 70, 71). However, as long as you configure the 72nd action, the app will prompt that the operation cannot be completed, as if the available space is occupied. What is the reason for this?

https://developer.apple.com/documentation/apple_pay_on_the_web/applepaypaymentrequest/3955945-multitokencontexts According to this document, I know that I can initialize a multiTokenContexts when initializing ApplePayPaymentRequest. But I am now facing a tricky problem. If the user's order does not require multiTokenContexts, then I will not initialize this field when I first make ApplePayPaymentRequest. When the user is in the payment process, I may update multiTokenContexts. But this time, the update is not allowed, ApplePay will be cancelled and the payment will be closed. For example, if the user's address in Apple Pay is different, I need to update multiTokenContexts to support the payment of goods to multiple merchants, which will generate an update of multiTokenContexts. MultiTokenContexts can be updated in the onshippingcontactselected method. https://developer.apple.com/documentation/apple_pay_on_the_web/applepaysession/1778009-onshippingcontactselected My question is that from the beginning, there was no multiTokenContexts to update multiTokenContexts in onshippingcontactselected, which would cause the user to close the payment and need to manually click to pay again. This user experience is not very friendly. Is there a better way for me to go from no multiTokenContexts to multiTokenContexts without interrupting the user's payment process?
