No new Xcode beta Since 16.2 Release on Dec 11
Not a question, but a surprise. Did I miss something, but apparently there has been no new beta release (16.3) since Release of 16.2 on Dec 11. 2 months without betas is really unusual (in fact, it never happened and usually, next beta n+1 is even released before the final release of version n). So does that mean 16.3 will be a major update ? Wait and see.

iOS15 on Xcode26 / Symbol not found: _SKStoreProductParameterAdNetworkSourceIdentifier
Below is an English version of your post, ready to copy-and-paste into the Apple Developer Forums: I’m seeing a crash in Xcode 26 beta 3 whenever the StoreKit symbol SKStoreProductParameterAdNetworkSourceIdentifier is present while running on an iOS 15 simulator. Steps to reproduce Install Xcode 26 beta 3. Create any iOS app and run it on an iOS 15 simulator (device model doesn’t matter). Add the following code anywhere and run: override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() if #available(iOS 16.1, *) { print("SKStoreProductParameterAdNetworkSourceIdentifier: \(SKStoreProductParameterAdNetworkSourceIdentifier)") } } The project builds successfully, but before the #available(iOS 16.1, *) check is reached, the app crashes with: Symbol not found: _SKStoreProductParameterAdNetworkSourceIdentifier When I build the same project with Xcode 16.4 and launch it on an iOS 15 simulator, it runs without crashing. Investigation so far Because SKStoreProductParameterAdNetworkSourceIdentifier is just an NSString, I could substitute the string literal "SKStoreProductParameterAdNetworkSourceIdentifier" as a temporary workaround, but that doesn’t feel like a proper fix. The symbol is still declared in both SDKs: /Applications/Xcode-16.4.0.app/.../StoreKit.framework/Headers/SKAdNetwork.h:48: SK_EXTERN NSString * const SKStoreProductParameterAdNetworkSourceIdentifier API_AVAILABLE(ios(16.1)) API_UNAVAILABLE(macos, watchos, visionos); /Applications/Xcode-26.0.0-Beta.3.app/.../StoreKit.framework/Headers/SKAdNetwork.h:48: SK_EXTERN NSString * const SKStoreProductParameterAdNetworkSourceIdentifier API_AVAILABLE(ios(16.1)) API_UNAVAILABLE(macos, watchos, visionos); So the symbol hasn’t been removed in the beta SDK. Given that the code is wrapped in #available(iOS 16.1, *), I don’t believe the sample itself is at fault. Questions Could this be a bug in Xcode 26’s availability checking or linker? Has anyone else encountered the same issue or found a more robust workaround? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Missing required modules when enabling Swift 6
Hi team, We're using CocoaPods in our project and we noticed the compiler fails to build certain targets saying it's "Missing required module 'x'" when trying to build them in Swift 6: We realized the modules the compiler is complaining about are pod dependencies required by the other target dependencies, and that this error will only appear when building with Swift 6 unless such dependencies are described on the Podfile as direct dependencies of the target, or we include them in the framework search paths. For example, the error in the image above will show if module 'X' import 'Y' and 'Y' imports 'CocoaLumberJack' and we don't specify a direct dependency between 'X' and 'CocoaLumberJack'. Regardless of the fact that we can manually add the missing module location to the target search paths, we'd like to understand why we're facing this issue in the first place, what changed between Swift 5 and Swift 6 that's requiring us now to explicitly describe these dependencies. I'd appreciate if someone could tell us more about this. We're particularly interested on knowing if this is an intentional change and how to handle it properly. Thanks

Xcode 16 Beta Swift Compiler Settings Missing
Really stumped on this issue my team is seeing with the Xcode 16 Beta (both Xcode 16 version 6 and Xcode 16.1). Wondering if anyone was having a similar issue and if this is a bug or something configured incorrectly. Basically, when I go to build settings and search for anything related to "Swift Compiler" nothing shows up. The only thing that appears with "Swift" in the title is under the User Defined keys (see attached) As such, I'm unable to change the Swift version for the project and I'm stuck in Swift 6 language mode which we're not quite ready for yet. This is only occurring on one of our targets. Our other app projects are behaving as expected. The project in question has the main target we build the project with and 2 support frameworks. The supporting frameworks are also working correctly. Its just the primary build target giving us fits. Curious if anyone is seeing something similar or has suggestions. Thanks!

"Missing required icon file" when submitting to TF from Xcode 26 beta 1
Trying to submit a build to TF from Xcode 26 via Xcode Cloud (both for iOS and macOS). The operation fails with this message: Missing app icon. Include a large app icon as a 1024 by 1024 pixel PNG for the 'Any Appearance' image well in the asset catalog of apps built for iOS or iPadOS. Without this icon, apps can't be submitted for review. For details, visit: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/xcode/configuring-your-app-icon. If you’ve added an icon made with Icon Composer, visit https://developer.apple.com/app-store-connect/release-notes/ for details about known issues. I thought it's because Icon Composer icons may not be supported yet, but then that last sentence is confusing me. Does this mean that TF just won't support Xcode 26 uploads yet, or does it accept them and I need to provide legacy icons for my build?

Xcode Cloud workflows are not being started (Pull Request Changes)
Any Xcode Cloud workflow with 'Pull Request Changes' as one of its start conditions has suddenly stopped working altogether. The workflow is never started. This issue seems to have begun within the last 48 hours. Removing the 'Pull Request Changes' start condition makes the workflows functional again. The test I just ran to confirm this: Created a new Xcode Cloud workflow Selected Start Conditions: 'Pull Request Changes' from/into any branch, when any files are changed Selected Test as the 'Actions' Created a pull request on my github repository The workflow was never started Added 'Branch Changes' to the Start Conditions, specifying branch-a under 'Custom Branches' Pushed to branch-a The workflow was never started Removed 'Pull Request Changes' from the Start Conditions Pushed to branch-a The workflow finally started Curious if others are having this issue? And if so, is there a timeline for when this will be resolved? I have confirmed that our Github actions are configured properly, and believe this is indeed an issue with Xcode Cloud.

Compiling Swift Package with Dependency on Build Tool Plugin Fails in Xcode 26
Hi, in our Xcode project we have a Tooling package, which defines build tool plugins for generating compile time safe constants for our localization strings as well as assets using swiftgen. This is working very well in Xcode 16, but fails in Xcode 26 beta 1 and beta 2 as well. The failure is specifically: unsupported configuration: the aggregate target 'Localization' has package dependencies, but targets that build for different platforms depend on it. I've reduced this to a minimal sample project, which you can find here.. To reproduce: Open the Repro workspace, that is attached in Xcode. Try to build TestyPackage. You'll see the error. I've filed this bug during WWDC week, but no feedback yet and no solution in Xcode 26 beta 2. Here's the feedback number, in case you have this too and want to file a duplicate: FB17934050. Does anyone else have this issue and perhaps a solution?

Sign in with apple get invalid_client error
Problem I’m trying to implement Sign in with Apple in my application. However, when my app redirects to the Apple authorization page at: https://appleid.apple.com/auth/authorize I get an invalid_client error with no further explanation. Settings I followed this article closely: [https://developer.okta.com/blog/2019/06/04/what-the-heck-is-sign-in-with-apple#generate-the-client-secret] Steps I have completed: Created an App ID and a Service ID on Apple Developer Portal. Enabled “Sign in with Apple” for both the App ID and the Service ID. Added my domain and callback URL to the Service ID configuration. (I'm using ngrok to proxy my localhost during development.) Linked an existing private key with “Sign in with Apple” capability. My identifiers: Service ID is used as client_id Team ID is taken from the top right of the Apple Developer dashboard Key ID is from the private key associated with the App Environment My backend is built with Laravel, and I'm using the [SocialiteProvider/Apple][https://socialiteproviders.com/Apple/#installation-basic-usage] library to handle the OAuth flow. I followed the recommended method to generate a client secret (JWT) for each request, using this blog post: [https://bannister.me/blog/generating-a-client-secret-for-sign-in-with-apple-on-each-request] My .env configuration looks like this: APPLE_CLIENT_ID=com.service.paxton.stockApp APPLE_TEAM_ID=25729642DK APPLE_KEY_ID=JFP9Q53ZCY APPLE_PRIVATE_KEY=storage/AppleDev-AuthKey_JFP9Q53ZCY.p8 JWT Generation I also tested generating the JWT using the Ruby script from the Okta article: [https://developer.okta.com/blog/2019/06/04/what-the-heck-is-sign-in-with-apple#generate-the-client-secret] Here is the script I used: require 'jwt' key_file = './storage/AppleDev-AuthKey_JFP9Q53ZCY.p8' team_id = '25729642DK' client_id = 'com.service.paxton.stockObserve' key_id = 'JFP9Q53ZCY' ecdsa_key = OpenSSL::PKey::EC.new IO.read key_file headers = { 'kid' => key_id } claims = { 'iss' => team_id, 'iat' => Time.now.to_i, 'exp' => Time.now.to_i + 86400*180, 'aud' => 'https://appleid.apple.com', 'sub' => client_id, } token = JWT.encode claims, ecdsa_key, 'ES256', headers puts token This JWT validates correctly. I’ve also used Apple’s public key to verify the signature, and it passed. I verified the JWT header and payload format using this helpful article: [https://fluffy.es/how-to-solve-invalid_client-error-in-sign-in-with-apple/] Third-Party Testing To eliminate mistakes in my setup, I even tried a third-party tool featured in this YouTube video: [https://youtu.be/8v01TaX1EJA?si=0jOBGBVk0R0zbmdo] Unfortunately, the result was the same — invalid_client. Question I’ve double-checked everything I can think of: keys, claims, domain whitelist, identifiers. I even verified the JWT independently. If anyone (especially someone from Apple) can help identify the missing piece, I would be truly grateful.

Xcode26 beta.2 build error
I am writing to report multiple issues encountered after updating to Xcode 26 Beta, which have significantly impacted my project's compilation and functionality. My project can run normally in Xcode16.3 version, Below are the specific problems, along with the steps I took to address them and the subsequent errors that arose: Symbol Not Found Error for _NSUserActivityTypeBrowsingWeb After updating to Xcode 26 Beta, my project failed to build with the error: "Symbol not found: _NSUserActivityTypeBrowsingWeb." To resolve this, I removed the MobileCoreServices framework from the Build Settings, as it appeared to be related. However, this led to a new error, indicating that this change introduced further complications. Clang++ Error: No Such File or Directory 'OpenGLES' Following the resolution of the first issue, I encountered a new error: "iOS clang++: error: no such file or directory: 'OpenGLES'." To address this, I added the OpenGLES.framework to the Build Phases. While this resolved the clang++ error, it triggered additional errors, suggesting that the underlying issue persists or new dependencies are conflicting. Recurring XIB File Compilation Errors My project uses XIB files, and every time I attempt to compile and run, Xcode reports errors related to different XIB files. Notably, when I open the reported XIB file, no errors are displayed within the Interface Builder. After saving or inspecting the file, the compilation error temporarily disappears, only for another XIB file to trigger the same issue in the next build. This creates a repetitive cycle. I have confirmed this is not a caching issue, as I clean the build cache (Product > Clean Build Folder) before each run. If I skip cleaning the cache, the OpenGLES-related error (Issue 2) reappears, indicating potential interactions between these problems. These issues have made development with Xcode 26 Beta extremely challenging, as each attempted fix seems to introduce new errors, and the XIB issue creates a persistent loop. My setup includes: Xcode Version: 26.0 beta 2 (17A5241o) macOS Version:15.4.1 (24E263)

Unsupported SDK or Xcode version on iOS 26 builds
Since first beta of iOS 26 I've created a workflow where I can deploy to TestFlight the builds compiled using the iOS 26 SDK, and it has worked fine until yesterday when I started receiving this error: Unsupported SDK or Xcode version. Your app was built with an SDK or version of Xcode that isn’t supported. Although you can use beta versions of SDKs and Xcode to build and upload apps to App Store Connect, you need to use the latest Release Candidates (RC) for SDKs and Xcode to submit the app. For details on currently supported SDKs and versions of Xcode, visit: https://developer.apple.com/news/releases. I haven't changed anything in the workflow so I suspect it's a bug on Apple side? Or am I missing something? It is set to use "Latest Beta or Release" for both Xcode and macOS, archive and deploy to TestFlight Internal Testing. Thank you!

How to refresh local Swift Package after adding files in Xcode 16?
Since upgrading to Xcode 16, I've noticed that when I add new files to my local Swift packages, the "Update Package" option is no longer available when I right-click on my local package. In previous versions of Xcode, I used this feature to make Xcode recognize newly added files without any issues. Now, with Xcode 16, the only way I've found to get Xcode to recognize new files is to remove and re-add the entire package, which is obviously not ideal. I've tried cleaning the build folder and rebuilding the project, but it doesn't seem to help. Is there a new workflow or method in Xcode 16 to refresh or update local Swift packages without needing to remove and re-add them every time? Any suggestions or workarounds would be greatly appreciated! What I’ve tried so far: Cleaning and rebuilding the project Looking for any options under "File > Packages" menu Environment: Xcode 16 Local Swift Package Thanks in advance!

How to Download IOS 26 beta runtime simulator using "xcodebuild" tool?
How to download the runtime simulators for the most recent Xcode 26 beta? The current download command I’m using doesn’t seem to work, and I’m encountering the following issues: The runtime simulator download command (xcodebuild) requires the version number to be specified explicitly. I’ve tried multiple variations of version names/numbers but haven’t been able to identify the correct naming convention used by Apple for the Xcode 26 beta simulator runtimes. $ xcodebuild -downloadPlatform IOS -exportPath ~/Downloads -buildVersion 26 Finding content...iOS 26 is not available for download. $ xcodebuild -downloadPlatform iOS -exportPath ~/Downloads -buildVersion 26.0 Finding content...iOS 26.0 is not available for download. $ xcodebuild -downloadPlatform iOS -exportPath ~/Downloads -buildVersion 26.0 beta Finding content...iOS 26.0 is not available for download. $ xcodebuild -downloadPlatform iOS -exportPath ~/Downloads -buildVersion "26.0 beta" Finding content...iOS 26.0 beta is not available for download. $ xcodebuild -downloadPlatform iOS -exportPath ~/Downloads -buildVersion "26.0_beta" Finding content...iOS 26.0_beta is not available for download. $ xcodebuild -downloadPlatform iOS -exportPath ~/Downloads -buildVersion 26.0_beta Finding content...iOS 26.0_beta is not available for download.

ERROR: Unrecognized attribute string flag '?' in attribute string "T@"NSString",?,R,C" for property debugDescription
Hello, I'm seeing many errors like this in the Xcode debug console when I build and run my app: ERROR: Unrecognized attribute string flag '?' in attribute string "T@"NSString",?,R,C" for property debugDescription The app project makes heavy use of Logger(), and I suspect it is related to that logging in some way, but I haven't been able to narrow down the issue to specific log calls. I have Category, Subsystem and Timestamp enabled in the Xcode console, but none of those are displayed for this output. What causes this? Or how can I better narrow down the source?

Set date and time in iOS Simulator
I am trying to fix a bug in my iOS app that is dependent upon date and time. Is there any way to set the actual time on the iOS Simulator to a specific date and time? I know that you can set one for the status bar, but that doesn't affect the actual date and time that is reported by the system to apps.

XCode 16 beta 3 creating a folder instead of a group for all project initial content
When I new project is initiated in XCode 16 beta 3, an overall folder is created to contain all the generated content in the Navigator pane . In past XCode version, this main container (under the project name) has always been generated as a group. Is this change by design or a bug? The issue this creates is that the files and folders in this overall Folder can not be repositioned - they remain in ascending alphabetical order. I must convert this initial Folder into a Group by right clicking on the folder name and selecting "Convert to group" which converts the folder to a group. I am then able to reposition files, groups and folders within this group. I don't see anywhere in the XCode documentation where this change in behavior is mentioned. Anyone else having this same issue. I never have understood the difference or use cases for groups vs folders in the xcode Navigator pane.
