App getting rejected for Guideline 5.1.1 and am unable to understand why
Hello, My team and I are trying to publish an app (It's our first time doing this). The app allows users to purchase self-guided tours using in-app purchases. Users can browse, find tours and see a preview of a tour without registration. However we require registration for the in-app purchase as this is linked to a user account. This is because there is a possibility that someone has bought a tour on an android device and is coming here plus this is the only way that we can enable the users to recover their account if they lose their device so it seems like a logical thing to do right? We only require an email ID and password and not a lot of info for registering. We have tried to explain this multiple times but this is the response we get: Guideline 5.1.1 - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and Storage We noticed that your app requires users to register with personal information to purchase in-app purchase products that are not account based. Apps cannot require user registration prior to allowing a

Apple rejected with 5.1.1 collect data
After I submitted our app, it was rejected with reasons: `Regarding 5.1.1, the following fields or actions are required for registration but do not appear to be directly relevant to your app’s core functionality: Thai National ID Phone number. To resolve this issue, it would be appropriate to either remove all required fields that are not relevant to the app or make those fields optional.` I need the two fields above. How can I resolve it? I asked reviewer but they said they cannot help detail feature for us. About phone numbers, our system wants to send SMS to them, change passwords, and send notification. Step: (edit profile -> edit phone number -> verify OTP) to change password you can check it. About Thai National ID, do you think it can be suitable when we use it for KYC, and verify customers? Actually, when the user registers a new account, if we do not approve the account, means KYC is unsuccess, the user will not use any main features (Saving and interest pay invoice). We are using Thai

Guideline 5.1.1 (ix) requirements
While checking our application, we received the following message: We found in our review that your app does not meet all of our requirements for apps that offer highly regulated services or handle sensitive user data. Specifically: The account that submits the app must be enrolled in the Apple Developer Program as an organization, and not as an individual. Can we use this clause to switch our membership to an individual entrepreneur, or is only an LLC or CJSC required?

Guideline 5.1.1 - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and Storage, app developed on behalf of a client
Hi, I am developing an application for an event that a client of mine is having. I received this comment from Apple: Guideline 5.1.1 - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and Storage : - The app must be published under a seller and company name that is associated with the organization or company providing the services. In this case, your app must be published under a seller name and company name that reflects the X client name. After sending the respective documentation that my client authorized me to publish the app I developed to my personal account, because they do not have an organizational account, since my client does not develop applications. What else do I need to prove that I am not in violation of this compliance.

Guideline 5.1.1 - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and Storage
**We noticed that your app collects information from various public sources to build individual profiles, which is not appropriate for the App Store. Next Steps To resolve this issue, please remove any feature that attempts to build individual profiles based on collected public data. ** I do not understand what information that I collect from various public sources to build individual profiles My app takes the image from user and process it to extract facial features and compare other faces in the app database also the user can create an account if he wants to post a missing report and I ask to input the name and gender and date of birth and other information of missing person and all of this I explain in app review But I still face this replay what to do ?

Reply to Are financial/banking aggregators not allowed in the App Store?
Thanks a lot for your response. I don't think that's the point. In fact, your app accesses potentially sensitive user information. I think that's the problem. It does access it, because the company offers a free and open API to encourage third parties to do that. But keep in mind this rule is under section 5.1.1: Data Collection and Storage. My app does not collect or store anything, at all. It's merely accessing the data from a GET endpoint, showing it to the user, and discarding it. I don't even have an account or login system, or even any kind of telemetry. The user just looks at their account data through my app, with their token, then it's gone. Much like a web browser. Are we sure this rule doesn't apply only to apps that actually collect and/or store data? Reading AppStore rule, the app should be submitted by the official firm. It cannot be by an individual developer or by a company that is not a banking or financial service company. Then how do financial aggregators do it? Or regular portfoli

How do we delete our apps "Data & Documents" when developing on Unreal Engine for iOS?
We published an app for iOS which accidentally stores a ton of photos in Data & Documents. The app is live on the App Store, but currently the only way for a user to delete this bloat is to uninstall and re-install the app. Updating does not delete it. We fixed the bug, and put in a notice on the App Store page, but we'd rather take care of this on our end. The app was developed using Unreal Engine 5.1.1. The bloat is caused by Apple ARKit having had the should_write_camera_image_per_frame turned on (see https://docs.unrealengine.com/5.0/en-US/PythonAPI/class/AppleARKitSettings.html). The images are saved to Container/Documents/CameraImages. How can we make it so the next version we push to App Store will delete the contents of this folder upon launch?

Is there any way to install an Unreal Engine project in Xcode iOS Simulator?
Is there any way to package/install/run our game in an Xcode iPhone/iPad Simulator? I’m working on a Silicon (arm64) Mac, so you would think it’s possible. Using Ventura, UE 5.1.1, and Xcode 14. Trying to drag either ipa or app onto simulator does not work. And not seeing any Simulators in the UE Platforms menu. This is mainly for generating screenshots in various sizes for App Store submission… Thanks!

Reply to Query about "Sign in with Apple" and Handling "Hide My Email" Option
Hi somprabhsharma, Please review the App Store Review Guidelines for the requirements of Legal, Data Collection and Storage, and Sign in with Apple—under 5.1.1(v, ix). You may need to seek legal counsel to determine the appropriate next steps for your app based on the regulations and the compliance in your region. Note: App Store Review does not pre-approve, nor pre-review app submissions, so your developer team and/or counsel will need to submit a production-ready app for review as specified in the guidelines above. Cheers, Paris
