Unlisted app and SPAM 4.3 rejection
Hello, I would like to know, in case you received a rejection for SPAM 4.3 because there are similar apps on the app store if asking for the app to be released unlisted would solve the problem, as it would not be listed in the app store and would not cause confusion to users. Also the app in question is quite a niche app and it would be enough to distribute it via a link from our website. The app is free. Thank you.

Guideline 4.3(a) - Design - Spam

4.3: SPAM - App Rejected - not reading my replies
Hi, I am a freelance developer who built a CRM and as part of the package provide a ToDo application. I managed to convince a client to get a White-Labeled solution for the application from me & uploaded in the client's developer profile (My profile has full developer access). Now, when I am uploading my original app for my other CRM users - App Store Review team is rejecting the app with the following message: We noticed your app shares a similar binary, metadata, and/or concept as apps submitted to the App Store by other developers, with only minor differences.Submitting similar or repackaged apps is a form of spam that creates clutter and makes it difficult for users to discover new apps.. They mention - other developers; but the other developer is me - having full access rights. I have replied to the rejection 4 times with these comments & I feel they are just not reading my comments. Its disheartening to see that all the work you put in, apps get rejected for absolutely no reason. I have already

A Developer’s First App—Unfairly Rejected and Account Terminated
After months of navigating repeated 4.3 guideline rejections, Apple has now terminated my developer account. This was a fresh app—one I worked hard on, designing it from the ground up with unique features. At first, my app was rejected under 4.3, but I complied with Apple's feedback and was approved. Two weeks later, with no major changes, it was suddenly rejected again for the same reason. I provided proof that this wasn’t a duplicate or spam app—sharing my GitHub repository, design iterations, and direct communication with designers. Still, my account was terminated. I’ve reached out for clarification, but the lack of transparency in the review process makes it difficult to understand what went wrong. This was my first app under this account, and I paid the $99 developer fee like everyone else. I just want a fair review. If there’s a way to appeal this, I’d be grateful for a second look.

Clarification Needed Regarding Guideline 4.3 - Duplicate Content
Hello, I am facing a recurring issue during the review process of my app, FlexicX, and I am struggling to understand the exact concerns raised by the App Store Review Team under Guideline 4.3. Each time I submit my app, I receive a response stating that it duplicates the content and functionality of other apps already on the App Store and is therefore considered a form of spam. However, no specific examples or comparisons are provided to help me understand which parts of my app are considered problematic or why. I submitted an appeal over a week ago but have not received any substantive response. Each time I contact support, I receive nearly identical replies, reiterating that the app duplicates functionality, but no clarification is given as to what exactly they believe is duplicated. This lack of detail is incredibly frustrating and makes it feel like the guidance is to simply “throw out the app and remake it,” which is neither realistic nor fair. FlexicX is a highly innovative game that has alread

After 20 Years in the Industry, My Innovative App Was Rejected by Apple's Ever-Changing Review Standards – A Developer's Disappointment
I have been in the industry for 20 years, previously working as an internet product manager. In 2023, due to the global economic downturn, I was laid off and found it difficult to secure a satisfactory job. To support my family, I decided to leverage my skills. I designed my own app, and with a technical background, I taught myself popular programming technologies such as uni-app (a front-end framework) and Python. I wrote 100% of the front-end and back-end code myself and used AI tools to design the visual assets of the product. In March 2024, I successfully released an application called Mia (com.jacky.her) on the App Store. Mia connects to a large language model to chat with users and provide emotional support. I noticed there were already many similar applications on the market, but most of them were just simple chat boxes. I believe that future product competition will focus on more detailed features based on large models. Therefore, I designed a character prototype, added character mechanisms, and aimed

Hi everyone, I'm the developer of Evil Neighbor games. https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Tonny+Nevel My game was decompiled and published on the App Store. With super-stupid input controls and a lot of ads. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/evil-father-simulator-game/id1660614304 It's a clone of my game: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.juliopepe.evilfather2 I decided to make a port on the iOS App Store, as my users asked me about it. And got rejected for all 3 parts with the reason Spam. On my own game I have sent a report for this account 4 months ago https://apps.apple.com/us/developer/manale-adle/id1671853753 (By the way, all other games are stolen too) App store is ignoring me; they sent a message to me and to him. Asked him to contact me and solve the issue. 4 months I have been waiting for a reply from them. I have sent 10+ emails, but it looks like they just put me on the ignore list. Two days ago, I tried to publish another game that I was developing during the year. And gu

Would this business model end up breaking the guidelines?
Hello and sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum.I am in the process of creating a Whitelabel application which acts as a frontend to a forum. The forum is a web forum that many users can have separate installations of. The iOS app in question would therefore be almost exactly the same app, but branded to the specific forum, and connects to that forum only. Now in order to be able to publish these apps, and if the idea picks up and there are many users willing to get the app, would this break the AppStore Review Guideline 4.3? https://developer.apple.com/app-store/review/guidelines/#spamI would like to know that before going through the project and wasting developer time and money if this an unacceptable business model on the AppStore. Thanks for any insights.

Rejected - 4.3 Spam
Good afternoon, I will tell you my case, 2 years ago I uploaded applications to the store without any problem, I even uploaded my first application that was an application to download wallpapers, after that I was developing games, of which I went up to the store without problems, now I have been developing applications by hobby, but in all the cases that I have tried to publish them I find myself with the same copy / paste of 4.3 - Design spam, which always leaves me in them, I don't know what to add or remove for that my application is not considered spam, sometimes it seems that they do not even review it, there are occasions that the review does not last 5 minutes. What would you recommend me to do? Thanks

CLKComplicationDescriptor identifier for very old complications
I'm in the process of updating an app that uses complications that originally had a deployment target of watchOS 4.3. These complications used CLKComplicationSupportedFamilies defined in Info.plist. There are no CLKComplicationDescriptors in use. Updated complications that use a new CLKComplicationDescriptor.identifier display correctly in the complication picker, but the original complication that's using CLKDefaultComplicationIdentifier displays -- or --- depending on placement. This happens whether you are using a ComplicationController instance or WidgetKit. Using CLKDefaultComplicationIdentifier as the identifier when creating the CLKComplicationDescriptor doesn't work: the complication doesn't appear in the picker. My question is there a way to upgrade an older complication configured by the customer to a new complication identifier? I'm not using WidgetKit for this project so a widgetMigrator isn't an option. -ch
