StoreKit Configuration Not Syncing to Xcode
Hello! I am attempting to add Subscriptions to an App that Is already published on the App Store. I cannot get Xcode to actually sync what is in my App Store Connect. When adding the Storekit configuration file, I go through the automatic linking process and select the proper bundleID. The configuration file says 'Synced @ [CurrentTime]' however there are no subscriptions listed in there. I have attempted deleting the file several times, creating a new subscription group. With no success. Do I need to publish the subscriptions without the features first? Upon attempting to write the supporting code that will enable these features within the app, I cannot get Xcode to identify that I have these subscriptions. I have also tried pushing these to TestFlight, still with no success. Thank you.

LLDB error: type for self cannot be reconstructed: type for typename
All is fine in Xcode15, no LLDB errors whatsoever, but in Xcode16 I can't get any variable displayed in the console because of the following error: error: type for self cannot be reconstructed: type for typename "$......." was not found (cached) error: Couldn't realize Swift AST type of self. Hint: using `v` to directly inspect variables and fields may still work. I've checked the output of swift-healthcheck and there are several messages like this: SwiftASTContextForExpressions(module: "ROA", cu: "ROA+ViewLayer.swift")::LoadOneModule() -- Missing Swift module or Clang module found for "UIKit", "imported" via SwiftDWARFImporterDelegate. Hint: Register Swift modules with the linker using -add_ast_path. I added -add_ast_path to the OTHER_LDFLAGS in the faulty module's build settings but no luck. How can I debug my project in Xcode16?

Empty dSYM file detected & Error: type for self cannot be reconstructed: type for typename
I'm pulling my hair out here with this new Xcode 16, it complains that my app's dSYM is empty though it's clearly not, it's about 25MB. I'm working on a project using an internal static library, everything is built inhouse using swift, we own all the source code. It worked just fine until the other week, when I updated the Xcode, and now I can't debug anything. I keep getting "type for self cannot be reconstructed" when I run "po self.some_property". Why is that? The Debug information Format is set to DWARF with dSYM File for both the executable and lib projects. I've been a Unix guy since before I knew myself and I enjoy fixing things myself, down to bare metal, but man, this bug is driving me crazy. Is it even a bug?? It's the first time in more than 15 years since I started coding on Mac and iPhone when a bug has defeated me. I was always able to fix things using just the documentation and google, but the Apple toolchain is getting worse and worse nowadays. I remember the time when Apple made the complicated things simple, now they make the simple things complicated :( I just split the static lib from the main project one year ago, because of the ridiculously long build time. Should I merge back all the code in a single project? Something seems wrong to me. So I created this account to ask the masters. How can I get back my debug info (and sanity)? Using Xcode 15 is not an option because it doesn't run on Sequoia.

How to Resolve Core Data Composite Attributes Errors in Xcode?
How do I resolve these errors reported in Xcode about using Core Data Composite Attributes feature? Composite Attributes feature requires tvOS deployment target 17.0 or later Composite Attributes feature requires watchOS deployment target 10.0 or later My app is a Cocoa app and targets macOS 14.0+. I do not have an iOS, iPadOS, tvOS nor watchOS targets. So, I don't understand why I am getting these errors. My Xcode project format is set to Xcode 16.0. I am on macOS Sequoia 15.2 (24C101) and using Xcode Version 16.2 (16C5032a). If you create a new Xcode project and choose macOS > App and Storage > Core Data and then Add Composite Type and set an attribute name and type, you will get the errors.

App Crashes on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 After App Store Installation
Hello everyone, I'm experiencing an issue with my app, and I would greatly appreciate any guidance. Here's the situation: My app works flawlessly on the simulator for all iPhone models (16, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max, SE, etc.). It runs without issues on physical iPhone 11 devices (both mine and a friend's). However, when my friend installs the app from the App Store on their iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16, it crashes immediately upon opening. Steps I’ve taken so far: Verified that the app works on the simulator for the same models where it crashes in real life. Updated the app's minimum deployment target to iOS 18, but this did not resolve the issue. The app still crashes on the physical iPhone 15 Pro and 16 models while continuing to run fine on previous physical devices and all simulated ones. Additionally, I had another friend beta test the app through TestFlight on their iPhone 15 Pro, and they received an alert message indicating that the app had crashed when they tried to open it. This confirms the issue still exists after my attempted fixes. I'm unsure what could be causing this discrepancy between the simulated and physical devices, or what the alert message in TestFlight might signify. Has anyone encountered a similar issue, or does anyone have suggestions on what I should do to fix this? Thanks in advance for your help!

Different Build Schemes -> Error: -Onone Swift optimization level to use previews
I have a sample SwiftUI iOS app. As shown in the screenshot below, my project has three configurations: Debug, MyDebug, Release. If I select the Debug or MyDebug scheme, I get a preview. But if I select the Release scheme, I get an error that says the following. ”***.app” needs -Onone Swift optimization level to use previews (current setting is -O) , where *** is the app name. It probably has nothing to do with the Preview error, but the Info.plist has a dictionary such that the key name is devMode, and the value is $(DEVMODE). And I have a user-defined setting as shown below. My ContentView has the following. import SwiftUI struct ContentView: View { @State private var state: String = "" var body: some View { VStack { Text("Hello, world!: \(state)") } .onAppear { if let devMode = Bundle.main.object(forInfoDictionaryKey: "devMode") as? String { print("Development mode: \(devMode)") state = devMode } if let path = Bundle.main.path(forResource: "Info", ofType: "plist") { if let dict = NSDictionary(contentsOfFile: path) { print("**** \(dict)") } } #if DEBUG print("Debug") #elseif MYDEBUG print("MyDebug") #else print("Que?") #endif } } } #Preview { ContentView() } So my question is how I get the preview for all three build schemes? Muchos thankos.

Xcode Cloud won't load from Xcode or App Store Connect
I am setting up a new app and am having problems with Xcode Cloud. From Xcode if I click on the "Cloud" button under the Report Navigator I get a spinner for a long time then get the message "Could not load Xcode Cloud data". I also visited the "Xcode Cloud" tab under my app in App Store Connect and I get a spinner and nothing loads. This is a recent account and I'm setting up Xcode Cloud for the first time. Below is what I've tried and I'm out of ideas on how to get this working. In Xcode, I signed out and back in as the Account Holder Closed Xcode and reopened This occurred yesterday and today and have not seen a problem under the Apple System Status page On the latest Xcode 16.2 Checked the Signing & Capabilities tab in Xcode and my team a bundle Id is correct and it's happy with signing. At this time on my machine I am using the distribution profile.

Using ARKit Replay hangs forever on "Attaching to App"...
Hello, I'm trying to use Xcode's ARKit Session replay functionality. I have a capture I made using Reality Composer and when trying to use it with Xcode's replay functionality the installation and debugging process seems stalled forever. I've gotten it to work once so I know the capture file is functional but I have never gotten it to work a second time, even though I didn't change any settings. No amount of restarting Xcode, the Mac, or the iPhone seem to work. I have also tried cleaning build folders, reinstalling the app, and clearing DerivedData. I can confirm from the Xcode logs that the app installs correctly but the app never launches. If I unselect the checkbox for "ARKit Replay Data", the app launches and debugs nearly instantly. I have tried letting it "attach" for up to 10 minutes to no avail.

Xcode 16.3 Beta3: Developer Documentation Indexing does not end...resulting in Xcode CPU Usage high over long time.
macOS Version 15.3.2 (Build 24D81) After initiating via Shift/Command/0 the Developer Documentation Window, the indexing of v277 index structure is starting /Users/[name]/Library/Developer/Xcode/DocumentationCache/ ==> but unfortunately not ending! Activity Monitor reports during hours high CPU (~80%) for Xcode process, but the indexing does not stop or end. After hours it is still around 146 MB instead of about 550 MB as in previous releases. Indexing starts with 11 or more threads, but suddenly it drops to 10 threads and seems stopping, still using cpu. Also restarting Xcode does not help. Process restarts but after some minutes seems to hang or stuck around 200MB indexed. Also removing subfolders does not help. (NSOperatingSystemVersion(majorVersion/ 16, minorVersion/ 3, patchVersion/ 0) they are recreated but index still stucks after some time. No clue. will reverting back to 16.3 beta2 Reported via FB16926964

[S:1] Error received: Connection invalidated on empty project
Hello everyone, I'm encountering a persistent issue with my newly created widget project, even though it’s a clean, minimal setup. Every time I try to run the widget on the simulator or a device, I get the following error message: [S:1] Error received: Connection invalidated. I get this error even in a new project (I just created a new one) when I add a widget extension to it. The app itself works fine—no errors—but when I try to install the widget extension, it always shows me this error. Initially, I thought the issue was caused by an incorrect URLSession, but even after creating a clean (default) widget extension, the issue persists. I don’t know what to think anymore. Has anyone encountered this before? It’s completely blocking my progress. Conditions - new project from iOS App template WidgetExtension from template with no changes Iphone 14 pro IOS - 18.3.2

RC Pro Timeline Notification Not Received in Xcode
I'm having a heck of a time getting this to work. I'm trying to add an event notification at the end of a timeline animation to trigger something in code but I'm not receiving the notification from RC Pro. I've watched that Compose Interactive 3D Content video quite a few times now and have tried many different ways. RC Pro has the correct ID names on the notifications. I'm not a programmer at all. Just a lowly 3D artist. Here is my code... import SwiftUI import RealityKit import RealityKitContent extension Notification.Name { static let button1Pressed = Notification.Name("button1pressed") static let button2Pressed = Notification.Name("button2pressed") static let button3Pressed = Notification.Name("button3pressed") } struct MainButtons: View { @State private var transitionToNextSceneForButton1 = false @State private var transitionToNextSceneForButton2 = false @State private var transitionToNextSceneForButton3 = false @Environment(AppModel.self) var appModel @Environment(\.dismissWindow) var dismissWindow // Notification publishers for each button private let button1PressedReceived = NotificationCenter.default.publisher(for: .button1Pressed) private let button2PressedReceived = NotificationCenter.default.publisher(for: .button2Pressed) private let button3PressedReceived = NotificationCenter.default.publisher(for: .button3Pressed) var body: some View { ZStack { RealityView { content in // Load your RC Pro scene that contains the 3D buttons. if let immersiveContentEntity = try? await Entity(named: "MainButtons", in: realityKitContentBundle) { content.add(immersiveContentEntity) } } // Optionally attach a gesture if you want to debug a generic tap: .gesture( TapGesture().targetedToAnyEntity().onEnded { value in print("3D Object tapped") _ = value.entity.applyTapForBehaviors() // Do not post a test notification here—rely on RC Pro timeline events. } ) } .onAppear { dismissWindow(id: "main") // Remove any test notification posting code. } // Listen for distinct button notifications. .onReceive(button1PressedReceived) { (output) in print("Button 1 pressed notification received") transitionToNextSceneForButton1 = true } .onReceive(button2PressedReceived.receive(on: DispatchQueue.main)) { _ in print("Button 2 pressed notification received") transitionToNextSceneForButton2 = true } .onReceive(button3PressedReceived.receive(on: DispatchQueue.main)) { _ in print("Button 3 pressed notification received") transitionToNextSceneForButton3 = true } // Present next scenes for each button as needed. For example, for button 1: .fullScreenCover(isPresented: $transitionToNextSceneForButton1) { FacilityTour() .environment(appModel) } // You can add additional fullScreenCover modifiers for button 2 and 3 transitions. } }

Xcode 16's EmbeddedBinaryValidationUtility taking massive amounts of memory
Hey Apple Team! We recently updated to Xcode 16 and saw a massive memory spike, which caused "Out of memory" Mac warnings in the final stages of our app's build process. We noticed that the process responsible for this is "EmbeddedBinaryValidationUtility" (see screenshot). Is there a workaround to limit its memory usage? This is causing significant anguish for our developers.

Crash when assigning NSImage to `@objc dynamic var` property
Xcode downloaded a crash report for my app which I don't quite understand. It seems the following line caused the crash: myEntity.image = newImage where myEntity is of type MyEntity: class MyEntity: NSObject, Identifiable { @objc dynamic var image: NSImage! ... } The code is called on the main thread. According to the crash report, thread 0 makes that assignment, and at the same time thread 16 is calling [NSImageView asynchronousPreparation:prepareResultUsingParameters:]. What could cause such a crash? Could I be doing something wrong or is this a bug in macOS? crash.crash

Muchos thankos.

I'm having a heck of a time getting this to work. I'm trying to add an event notification at the end of a timeline animation to trigger something in code but I'm not receiving the notification from RC Pro. I've watched that Compose Interactive 3D Content video quite a few times now and have tried many different ways. RC Pro has the correct ID names on the notifications. I'm not a programmer at all. Just a lowly 3D artist. Here is my code... import SwiftUI import RealityKit import RealityKitContent extension Notification.Name { static let button1Pressed = Notification.Name("button1pressed") static let button2Pressed = Notification.Name("button2pressed") static let button3Pressed = Notification.Name("button3pressed") } struct MainButtons: View { @State private var transitionToNextSceneForButton1 = false @State private var transitionToNextSceneForButton2 = false @State private var transitionToNextSceneForButton3 = false @Environment(AppModel.self) var appModel @Environment(\.dismissWindow) var dismissWindow // Notification publishers for each button private let button1PressedReceived = NotificationCenter.default.publisher(for: .button1Pressed) private let button2PressedReceived = NotificationCenter.default.publisher(for: .button2Pressed) private let button3PressedReceived = NotificationCenter.default.publisher(for: .button3Pressed) var body: some View { ZStack { RealityView { content in // Load your RC Pro scene that contains the 3D buttons. if let immersiveContentEntity = try? await Entity(named: "MainButtons", in: realityKitContentBundle) { content.add(immersiveContentEntity) } } // Optionally attach a gesture if you want to debug a generic tap: .gesture( TapGesture().targetedToAnyEntity().onEnded { value in print("3D Object tapped") _ = value.entity.applyTapForBehaviors() // Do not post a test notification here—rely on RC Pro timeline events. } ) } .onAppear { dismissWindow(id: "main") // Remove any test notification posting code. } // Listen for distinct button notifications. .onReceive(button1PressedReceived) { (output) in print("Button 1 pressed notification received") transitionToNextSceneForButton1 = true } .onReceive(button2PressedReceived.receive(on: DispatchQueue.main)) { _ in print("Button 2 pressed notification received") transitionToNextSceneForButton2 = true } .onReceive(button3PressedReceived.receive(on: DispatchQueue.main)) { _ in print("Button 3 pressed notification received") transitionToNextSceneForButton3 = true } // Present next scenes for each button as needed. For example, for button 1: .fullScreenCover(isPresented: $transitionToNextSceneForButton1) { FacilityTour() .environment(appModel) } // You can add additional fullScreenCover modifiers for button 2 and 3 transitions. } }

Could I be doing something wrong or is this a bug in macOS? crash.crash

"CLIENT OF UIKIT REQUIRES UPDATE: This process does not adopt UIScene lifecycle. This will become an assert in a future version."
I just noticed this today while building a React Native app. Anybody else seen this and know what it means/how to track it down/how to fix it
