Your payments from Apple are on hold.
Hey everybody, today I received an email (seemingly automated) stating that my payment is on hold due to irregular activity. However, I haven't violated any rules, and I've seen that many other people have received the same message. As soon as I saw the email, I contacted support via phone, and the representative who assisted me confirmed that my account status is correct and in good standing. She requested that I forward the email to her for further investigation. Email received: "We noticed some irregular activity associated with your vendor number XXXXXXXX and have paused your earnings payments while we investigate. Once our review is complete, we'll determine if we can resume your payments." Questions: Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, what was the process to resolve it? How long does it typically take to have the payments resumed? Wishing you all a great day, Thank you.

Core Data transformable attribute problem in Xcode16
Hi everyone, Have anybody faced with Core Data issues, trying to migrate the project to Xcode16 beta 4? We are using transformableAttributeType in some entities, with attributeValueClassName = "[String]" and valueTransformerName = "NSSecureUnarchiveFromData". It is working just fine for years, but now I am trying to run the project from Xcode16 and have 2 issues: in Xcode logs I see warning and error: CoreData: fault: Declared Objective-C type "[String]" for attribute named alertBarChannels is not valid CoreData: Declared Objective-C type "[String]" for attribute named alertBarChannels is not valid periodically the app crashes when we are assigning value to this attribute, with error: Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '-[__NSCFConstantString characterAtIndex:]: Range or index out of bounds' Once again, in Xcode 15 it works fine, and it was working for years. Cannot find any information about what was changed in the framework... Thank you in advance for any information, which could clarify what is going on.

File transfer issue from iPhone to Watch after iOS 17.5 & WatchOS 10.5 update
After updating to iOS 17.5 & WatchOS 10.5, the didFinish response from WCSessionDelegate does not come when transferring files from iPhone to Watch. It worked normally until 17.4 & 10.4. There is no problem with checking file completion even if a didFinish response is not received, but I think Apple needs to check this issue and update. File transfer is done using the transferFile function of WCSession. The file being transferred is a single file and its size does not exceed 30MB. When you try to transfer Pi, the message below appears in the Xcode log section. -[WCFileStorage persistOutgoingFileTransfer:] error serializing file transfer <WCSessionFileTransfer: 0x300155d60, session file: <WCSessionFile: 0x3001575c0, identifier: 0C8857EC-7D74-4E78-BA28-6C5526DE8949, file: /private/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/DD797847-DED1-42C0-989F-34CD05825007/tmp/C042D096-F12B-4B50-8792-868475DBBF47.zip, hasMetadata: YES>, transferring: YES> due to Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=4866 "Caught exception during archival: This object may only be encoded by an NSXPCCoder. iOS 17.4.1 Safari extension issues
Since updating to iOS v17.4.1 our safari extension no longer functions as it used to We are experiencing issues where our content script is not getting initialized, On devices running iOS 17.4.1, the content script included in our extension does not appear to run. There are no logs from the content script in the console, whereas on other versions and devices, it operates as expected. Our Extension relies con communication between the background and content scripts in order for us to render various popups to our users, based on our logs as of iOS 17.4.1 this communication is not successful, we can see messages being sent from the background script but as mentioned above nothing on the content script side. This behavior happens majority of the time and on random sites, sometimes opening the same site in a new tab would work but not always. There are also times where we would only receive our popups after opening the safari menu and interacting with our extension via this menu. Please assist with a way forward

Subscription "Waiting for review" status stuck after been approved
We uploaded to App Store Connect a new app version with new subscription groups & items. Everything was approved, and we received the emails from App Store connect, but if we visit our App Store Connect account App, some of these subscription items are still "Waiting for review" for more than 4 days. It has no sense as the email informed us that the new app version and all the items had been approved. The app is online, but some subscription items are not available. We even uploaded a new app version, it was updated, but the subscription items are still "Waiting for review". Has anyone faced this problem? How do you solved it? We have contacted App Store Connect but it is pretty difficult to get real assistance, most of the time they reply with template email answers.

SwiftData iOS18: "Could not materialize Objective-C class named "Set" from declared attribute value type "Set<String>" of attribute named..."
Posting here to see if folks have workarounds or if I have a misunderstanding of SwiftData supported types. In adopting SwiftData, I have swiftData properties of collection type (Array or Set - both have this issue). E.g: @Model final class Item { var timestamp: Date var strings = ["aa", "bb"] var display: String { strings.joined(separator: " ") } init(timestamp: Date) { self.timestamp = timestamp } } So far in development I haven't had issues on iOS 17, but on the iOS 18 betas 4-5 the app logs show the following error: "fault: Could not materialize Objective-C class named "Array" from declared attribute value type "Array<String>" of attribute named strings" It happens immediately in my app when creating an object with a collection attribute. In a minimal test example, the error log appears only after a few minutes and doesn't seem to affect the template app's basic functionality. Anyone else running into this? Was filed as FB14397250

Importing Data into SwiftData in the Background Using ModelActor and @Query
I have an app with fairly typical requirements - I need to insert some data (in my case from the network but could be anything) and I want to do it in the background to keep the UI responsive. I'm using SwiftData. I've created a ModelActor that does the importing and using the debugger I can confirm that the data is indeed being inserted. On the UI side, I'm using @Query and a SwiftUI List to display the data but what I am seeing is that @Query is not updating as the data is being inserted. I have to quit and re-launch the app in order for the data to appear, almost like the context running the UI isn't communicating with the context in the ModelActor. I've included a barebones sample project. To reproduce the issue, tap the 'Background Insert' button. You'll see logs that show items being inserted but the UI is not showing any data. I've tested on the just released iOS 18b3 seed (22A5307f). The sample project is here: https://hanchor.s3.amazonaws.com/misc/SwiftDataBackgroundV2.zip

error: the replacement path doesn't exist:
I'm using SwiftData with an @Model and am also using an @ModelActor. I've fixed all concurrency issues and have migrated to Swift 6. I am getting a console error that I do not understand how to clear. I get this error in Swift 6 and Swift 5. I do not experience any issue with the app. It seems to be working well. But I want to try to get all issues taken care of. I am using the latest Xcode beta. error: the replacement path doesn't exist: "/var/folders/1q/6jw9d6mn0gx1znh1n19z2v9r0000gp/T/swift-generated-sources/@_swiftmacro_17MyAppName14MyModelC4type18_PersistedPr> opertyfMa.swift"

Can't manage my sandbox account
Hi, I can't get into "manage" sandbox account. I either get to a screen to put my password in. Here there is no way to click "next" or "login". (I have tried pressing "enter" on my keyboard to no effect). Or I get directly into "Cannot Connect" page. I have tried this two days in a row. I have tried turning it off and on again. I have tried logging out and in. Device: iPhone 13 pro max, iOS: 16.0.3 (also tried the version before this)

TestFlight App uses wrong sandbox account for payment
I'm using TestFlight to test an app with payment/subscription functionality. I created sandbox accounts in AppStore Connect accordingly to be able to test the subscriptions. I'm logged in with the sandbox account. When I try to subscribe in the App the wrong account (this is my actual real AppleID) is used for the subscription although it is recognized that this is just a sandbox subscription. I tried: logging off/on into the sandbox account creating a totally new sandbox account trying to trigger the payment with no logged in sandbox account The result is always: in the payment popup it is stated that the purchase account will be my original AppleID and not a sandbox account. How can I switch the accounts? Is this a bug at Apple's side somehow?

SwiftData crash when using a @Query sort descriptor with a relationship
I am using SwiftData for storage and have a view that uses the @Query property wrapper with a sort descriptor that points to a relationship on a model. In a release build on device running iOS 18.3, the app crashes. This is the line that crashes: @Query(sort: \Item.info.endDate, order: .reverse) private var items: [Item] Item has a relationship to ItemInfo, which is where the endDate property is defined. This code works in debug and on a simulator. In the project referenced here: https://github.com/lepolt/swiftdata-crash, change the scheme build configuration to “Release” and run on device. The app will crash. Using Xcode Version 16.2 (16C5032a) iPhone 12, iOS 18.3 (22D60)

Updated to iOS 18.1.1 ‘share’ button is not working across various apps. For example, if I receive a pdf on WhatsApp, and I intend to share it to my Google Drive, nothing happens when I hit the button. Anyone else encountering the same problem? And how do I fix it? It’s been like this for a couple of days now and it’s really frustrating.

APNs Auth Key download error after revoking old key — “already downloaded” for new key
I created an APNs Auth Key in the Apple Developer portal and downloaded it successfully once. Later, due to some issues, I revoked that key. After that, I created a new APNs Auth Key. The download button appears, but when I click it, I get the message: "Auth Key can only be downloaded once. This auth key has already been downloaded." This is incorrect because: The key is newly created in my account. I have tried multiple browsers (Safari, Chrome), private/incognito mode, and even a different laptop. I have no other active APNs Auth Keys in my account. Without this .p8 file, I cannot configure push notifications for my iOS app (using Firebase Cloud Messaging). This is blocking my production release. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to reset or force a fresh APNs Auth Key when this happens?

Getting metadata (identity) about an SMB volume's server
I like to find a way to identify network volumes, and whether they're run by certain servers, e.g. specifically whether they're on a Synology NAS. Reason is that Synology, while apparently supporting the Spotlight-over-SMB API, comes with a lot of bugs, requiring me to work around them when searching on those volumes with the macOS Spotlight API. I could, of course, ask the user to "configure" each mounted volume in my software, but I'd rather do this automagically, if possible, as it's less prone to user mistakes. So, my question is: Is there a way to learn a bit more about the server of a mounted network volume? E.g., if I could learn its IP address, I could try to connect to it via http protocol and then maybe get a useful response that identifies it as being from Synology. Or, alternatively, can I tell which SMB volumes are served by a Mac, so that I can at least assume that those handle Spotlight calls correctly, while I assume anything else is buggy (so far, AFAIK, Synology is the only other SMB server that supports Spotlight search). I've tried to find some data in the IORegistry, but that doesn't seem to store anything about network vols. The statfs function doesn't seem to give me anything for that either, nor do the various fcntl calls as far as I could tell. I also checked with the DA apis, e.g.: DASessionRef daSession = DASessionCreate (NULL); CFURLRef furl = CFURLCreateWithFileSystemPath(NULL, CFSTR("/Volumes/TheNAS"), kCFURLPOSIXPathStyle, true); DADiskRef daDisk = DADiskCreateFromVolumePath (NULL, daSession, furl); if (daDisk) { CFDictionaryRef daInfo = DADiskCopyDescription (daDisk); NSLog(@"%@", daInfo); } However, this only prints basic information: DAVolumeKind = smbfs; DAVolumeMountable = 1; DAVolumeName = TheNAS; DAVolumeNetwork = 1; DAVolumePath = "file:///Volumes/TheNAS/"; Where, then, does Finder's "Get Info" get the smb path from, for example?

MapKit JS is not available for use within mainland China. The browser console shows a 401 error for the API.
I am using the code provided on the website https://developer.apple.com/maps/sample-code/embedded-map/index.html, replacing it with my own MapKit JS Token. When accessing it using a network in mainland China, a 401 error occurs with the message [Initialization failed because the authorization token is invalid]. However, it works normally when using a network in Japan. Does this service not work in mainland China?
