Billing Problem while subscription renewal.
Hello, I'm currently experiencing issues with IAP subscription setup. The following error appears: "Billing Problem, There was a problem with your subscription renewal. To resolve, turn on Allow Purchases & Renewals, or leave off to test failed in-app purchase attempts and subscription renewals." I'm testing with a sandbox account, and automatic subscription renewal is turned on in the sandbox settings. A notification screen appears at the OS level, and consequently, a DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW error occurs on our payment server. I cannot determine the cause at all, so I would appreciate your assistance in checking this issue.

Regression: Heavy Delay of Push Notifications on iOS 18.1 beta (10s and more)
My app one sec uses push notifications to guide the user back to the app from a Screen Time Shield (screenshot attached). On iOS 18.1, notifications are delivered with a delay of 10+ seconds, even though they are classified as time sensitive: notificationContent.interruptionLevel = .timeSensitive notificationContent.relevanceScore = 1.0 The notification trigger is nil, which according to the documentation should show the notification banner immediately: var notificationTrigger: UNTimeIntervalNotificationTrigger? = nil "The condition that causes the system to deliver the notification. Specify nil to deliver the notification right away." In the sysdiagnose I have noticed that activity related to Apple Intelligence Priority classification delays the notification by 10 seconds ("UserNotificationsCore.IntelligenceActor"): [create, [id=43C0-B333, time=2024-09-27 06:03:26, bundle=***.riedel.one-sec], Time elapsed=10.373 sec]: Timeout of 10.0 reached. Cancelling work. [create, [id=43C0-B333, time=2024-09-27 06:03:26, bundle=***.riedel.one-sec], Time elapsed=10.377 sec]: Calling out to completion with failure(UserNotificationsCore.StepFailure.timedOut(exceeded: 10.0 seconds, summaryStatus: Optional(UserNotificationsServices.NotificationSummaryStatus.inferenceTimedOut), priorityStatus: Optional(UserNotificationsServices.NotificationPriorityStatus.inferenceTimedOut))) from 'scheduleTimeoutToPerform(after:for:)' [create, [id=43C0-B333, time=2024-09-27 06:03:26, bundle=***.riedel.one-sec], Time elapsed=10.378 sec]: Step: UserNotificationsCore.IntelligenceActor, index: 0 exceeded 10.0 seconds This seems like a bug to me, time sensitive notifications should be exempted from being analyzed for priority, especially if that comes at the cost of delaying notifications by 10 seconds. DriverKit IOUserSerial Driver
Hello everyone. After a lot of research and some tests from various sources, I have actually built a small SerialDriverKit IOUserSerial driver. Unfortunately, the documentation on the official sites is tight-lipped and very thin. At least I have a running driver instance. Now my request and question: Can anyone give me a tip on how to get the data from the serial client? I have already called IOUserSerial::ConnectQueues(...) in the IOUserSerial::Start() method and I got the IOMemoryDescriptors for interrupt, RX and TX to my driver instance. I tried to get access to the memory in the method IOUserSerial::TxDataAvailable() with IOMemoryDescriptor::CreateMapping(...). Unfortunately, no data is coming in. It's always 0x00. Here is the OS log: kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriver] init called. kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] constructor called. kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriver] start called. kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) IOUserSerial::: 40 0x600000da4058 kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] Start called. kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] Connect INT/RX/TX buffer. kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) IOUserSerial::: 59 0x600000da4058 kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] prepare TCP socket. kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriver] driver started successfully. kernel: DK: VSPDriver-0x100000753::start(IOUserResources-0x100000116) ok ... ... some client serial setup stuff ... kernel: (IOUserSerial) IOUserSerial::hwResetFIFO: 1076 ==>0 kernel: (IOUserSerial) IOUserSerial::hwResetFIFO: 1076 <== kernel: (IOUserSerial) IOUserSerial::hwResetFIFO: 1076 locklevel = 1 kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriver] HwResetFIFO called. kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] HwResetFIFO called. kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] HwResetFIFO: tx=0 rx=1 kernel: (IOUserSerial) IOUserSerial::hwResetFIFO: 1076 ==>0 kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriver] TxDataAvailable called. kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] TxDataAvailable called. kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] TxDataAvailable: address=0x104c22000 length=16384 kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] TxDataAvailable: debug TX buffer kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] TxDataAvailable: TX> 0x00 kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] TxDataAvailable: TX> 0x00 kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] TxDataAvailable: TX> 0x00 kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] TxDataAvailable: TX> 0x00 kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] TxDataAvailable: TX> 0x00 kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] TxDataAvailable: TX> 0x00 kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] TxDataAvailable: TX> 0x00 kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] TxDataAvailable: TX> 0x00 kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] TxDataAvailable: TX> 0x00 kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] TxDataAvailable: TX> 0x00 kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] TxDataAvailable: TX> 0x00 kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] TxDataAvailable: TX> 0x00 kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] TxDataAvailable: TX> 0x00 kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] TxDataAvailable: TX> 0x00 kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] TxDataAvailable: TX> 0x00 kernel: (org.eof.tools.VSPDriver.dext) [VSPDriverPrivate] TxDataAvailable: TX> 0x00

CallKit: Blocked Calls Appearing as Unanswered in iOS 18
Hello Apple Developer Community, I'm developing a call-blocking app for iOS and have encountered an issue with iOS 18. Despite calls being successfully blocked by our app's Call Directory extension, they are still appearing as unanswered calls in the native Phone app. Details: iOS version: 18 App uses CallKit and Call Directory extension Calls are blocked successfully (not ringing on device) Blocked calls show up as "Unanswered" in Phone app's recent calls list Expected behavior: Blocked calls should not appear in the Phone app's recent calls list. Actual behavior: Blocked calls appear as "Unanswered" in the recent calls list.

Using Network Framework + Bonjour + QUIC + TLS
Hello, I was able to use the TicTackToe code base and modify it such that I have a toggle at the top of the screen that allows me to start / stop the NWBrowser and NWListener. I have it setup so when the browser finds another device it attempts to connect to it. I support N devices / connections. I am able to use the NWParameters extension that is in the TickTackToe game that uses a passcode and TLS. I am able to send messages between devices just fine. Here is what I used extension NWParameters { // Create parameters for use in PeerConnection and PeerListener. convenience init(passcode: String) { // Customize TCP options to enable keepalives. let tcpOptions = NWProtocolTCP.Options() tcpOptions.enableKeepalive = true tcpOptions.keepaliveIdle = 2 // Create parameters with custom TLS and TCP options. self.init(tls: NWParameters.tlsOptions(passcode: passcode), tcp: tcpOptions) // Enable using a peer-to-peer link. self.includePeerToPeer = true } // Create TLS options using a passcode to derive a preshared key. private static func tlsOptions(passcode: String) -> NWProtocolTLS.Options { let tlsOptions = NWProtocolTLS.Options() let authenticationKey = SymmetricKey(data: passcode.data(using: .utf8)!) let authenticationCode = HMAC<SHA256>.authenticationCode(for: "HI".data(using: .utf8)!, using: authenticationKey) let authenticationDispatchData = authenticationCode.withUnsafeBytes { DispatchData(bytes: $0) } sec_protocol_options_add_pre_shared_key(tlsOptions.securityProtocolOptions, authenticationDispatchData as __DispatchData, stringToDispatchData("HI")! as __DispatchData) sec_protocol_options_append_tls_ciphersuite(tlsOptions.securityProtocolOptions, tls_ciphersuite_t(rawValue: TLS_PSK_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256)!) return tlsOptions } // Create a utility function to encode strings as preshared key data. private static func stringToDispatchData(_ string: String) -> DispatchData? { guard let stringData = string.data(using: .utf8) else { return nil } let dispatchData = stringData.withUnsafeBytes { DispatchData(bytes: $0) } return dispatchData } } When I try to modify it to use QUIC and TLS 1.3 like so extension NWParameters { // Create parameters for use in PeerConnection and PeerListener. convenience init(psk: String) { self.init(quic: NWParameters.quicOptions(psk: psk)) self.includePeerToPeer = true } private static func quicOptions(psk: String) -> NWProtocolQUIC.Options { let quicOptions = NWProtocolQUIC.Options(alpn: ["h3"]) let authenticationKey = SymmetricKey(data: psk.data(using: .utf8)!) let authenticationCode = HMAC<SHA256>.authenticationCode(for: "hello".data(using: .utf8)!, using: authenticationKey) let authenticationDispatchData = authenticationCode.withUnsafeBytes { DispatchData(bytes: $0) } sec_protocol_options_set_min_tls_protocol_version(quicOptions.securityProtocolOptions, .TLSv13) sec_protocol_options_set_max_tls_protocol_version(quicOptions.securityProtocolOptions, .TLSv13) sec_protocol_options_add_pre_shared_key(quicOptions.securityProtocolOptions, authenticationDispatchData as __DispatchData, stringToDispatchData("hello")! as __DispatchData) sec_protocol_options_append_tls_ciphersuite(quicOptions.securityProtocolOptions, tls_ciphersuite_t(rawValue: TLS_AES_128_GCM_SHA256)!) sec_protocol_options_set_verify_block(quicOptions.securityProtocolOptions, { _, _, sec_protocol_verify_complete in sec_protocol_verify_complete(true) }, .main) return quicOptions } // Create a utility function to encode strings as preshared key data. private static func stringToDispatchData(_ string: String) -> DispatchData? TestFlight App uses wrong sandbox account for payment
I'm using TestFlight to test an app with payment/subscription functionality. I created sandbox accounts in AppStore Connect accordingly to be able to test the subscriptions. I'm logged in with the sandbox account. When I try to subscribe in the App the wrong account (this is my actual real AppleID) is used for the subscription although it is recognized that this is just a sandbox subscription. I tried: logging off/on into the sandbox account creating a totally new sandbox account trying to trigger the payment with no logged in sandbox account The result is always: in the payment popup it is stated that the purchase account will be my original AppleID and not a sandbox account. How can I switch the accounts? Is this a bug at Apple's side somehow?

macOS26: MenuBarExtra item not showing
Hi, In macOS26 beta, our app icon is not showing anymore in the MenuBar. It is also not displayed in the new section "Menu Bar > Allow in the Menu Bar", which seems to be the way to show/hide Menu Bar icons in macOS 26. The icon is correctly displayed and working in macOS 15. Our app is signed and notarized. It also has the "LSUIElement" value set to "true" in the Info.plist file. Is there some new mandatory entitlements to add in order to have our app showing in the "Allow in the Menu Bar" section? Thanks in advance for your help. Regards

StoreKit 2 AppTransaction failing
We have had a small number of users of our mac app complaining that the app suddenly can't detect their subscription or previous purchase history. These users are not new, and have been using the app successfully for some time. In the app we do this using the following (very standard) code at app startup: let result: VerificationResult<AppTransaction> = try await AppTransaction.shared For those users experiencing the failure, the result is coming back as unverified. So far we've been unable to find the cause or a solution, but it seems to have become worse with the release of macOS 15.4. We've tried resetting, rebooting and reinstalling the app. It's worth adding the (probably obvious) that it's impossible to test or fault-find with this, because we can't replicate the issue in a development environment. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Document-based SwiftData apps fail to identify a store on iPad?
When trying to run my document-based iPad app using iPadOS 18 beta and Xcode 16 beta, I get an error like the following after opening a document: Thread 1: Fatal error: Failed to identify a store that can hold instances of SwiftData._KKMDBackingData<MyProject.MyModel> from [:] In order to help track down what is going wrong, I downloaded the sample app from WWDC23 session "Build an app with SwiftData" found here: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/swiftui/building-a-document-based-app-using-swiftdata When I try to run the end-state of that sample code, I get a similar error when running the app on my iPad and creating a new deck: Thread 1: Fatal error: Failed to identify a store that can hold instances of SwiftData._KKMDBackingData<SwiftDataFlashCardSample.Card> from [:] Given that the sample project is generating the same error as my own project, is this a problem with SwiftData and document-based apps in general? Or is there a change of approach that I should try?

A server with the specified hostname could not be found exception
Hi, I have been working on the app that implements DNS Proxy Extension for a while now, and after a couple builds to TestFlight I noticed that I got a couple crashes that seem to be triggered by EXC_BREAKPOINT (SIGTRAP) After some investigation, it was found that crashes are connected to CFNetwork framework. So, I decided to additionally look into memory issues, but I found the app has no obvious memory leaks, no memory regression (within recommended 25%, actual value is at 20% as of right now), but the app still uses 11mb of memory footprint and most of it (6.5 mb is Swift metadata). At this point, not sure what's triggering those crashes, but I noticed that sometimes app will return message like this to the console (this example is for PostHog api that I use in the app): Task <0ABDCF4A-9653-4583-9150-EC11D852CA9E>.<1> finished with error [18 446 744 073 709 550 613] Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=-1003 "A server with the specified hostname could not be found." I had a couple other ideas (HTTP3 failure, CFNetwork core issues like described here) but not sure if they are valid Would be grateful if someone could give me a hint of what I should look at

macOS 26 Tahoe Screen Saver issues
Noticing a few issues with Screen Savers in macOS Tahoe developer beta 1 : The command open x-apple.systempreferences:com.apple.ScreenSaver-Settings.extension no longer works to open the Screen Savers preference pane. The reason? There is no longer a Screen Saver preference pane - it still exists, but it's now a Modal dialog (that can not be resized) that is opened from within the Wallpaper preference pane, by clicking a button. Something funny is happening with legacyScreensaver - I think that ScreenSaverView.Init(frame:isPreview) may be passing wrong values, e.g. the isPreview boolean is false in Preview mode? I've submitted Feedback # FB17895600 about some of these, and will report back more as I figure things out. Please feel free to add to this thread, thanks!

Sequoia Group Container for Mac Catalyst Apps
Prior to Sequoia, Mac Catalyst Apps worked fine when using group folders that started with group. They now get an alert that the Mac Catalyst app is trying to access data from other applications. This may also impact some SwiftUI developers. According to this the documentation for the App Group Entitlements entitlement, on macOS we should begin use the Team Identifier instead of group. Should Mac Catalyst follow the macOS or iOS rules for com.apple.security.application-groups? If they should need to follow the macOS rules now, that creates several issues for developers. We would now need separate build targets to pick up the different Entitlements files. More distressing is that we would need to do some kind of migration process to get our files to the new location. There wouldn't be a transparent way to do so where the user wasn't warned about the application accessing files that don't belong to it. Any clarification on what Mac Catalyst developers should be doing to prepare for Sequoia would be greatly appreciated.

XPC doesn't work with network extension on app upgrade
Our app has a network extension (as I've mentioned lots 😄). We do an upgrade by downloading the new package, stopping & removing all of our components except for the network extension, and then installing the new package, which then loads a LaunchAgent causing the containing app to run. (The only difference between a new install and upgrade is the old extension is left running, but not having anything to tell it what to do, just logs and continues.) On some (but not all) upgrades... nothing ends up able to communicate via XPC with the Network Extension. My simplest cli program to talk to it gets Could not create proxy: Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=4099 "The connection to service named blah was invalidated: failed at lookup with error 3 - No such process." UserInfo={NSDebugDescription=The connection to service named bla was invalidated: failed at lookup with error 3 - No such process.} Could not communicate with blah Restarting the extension by doing a kill -9 doesn't fix it; neither does restarting the control daemon. The only solution we've come across so far is rebooting. I filed FB11086599 about this, but has anyone thoughts about this?

LiveCommunicationKit: report Incoming but Assertion failure in -[PKPushRegistry _terminateAppIfThereAreUnhandledVoIPPushes]
I completed the CallKit Demo with the same code. When I changed to LiveCommunicationKit, the code goes perfectly when the app is in foreground, but it crashed in background. If I changed the reportIncoming method from LCK to CallKit, it goes well. What is the reason? I changed the method from func pushRegistry(_ registry: PKPushRegistry, didReceiveIncomingPushWith payload: PKPushPayload, for type: PKPushType, completion: @escaping () -> Void) to func pushRegistry(_ registry: PKPushRegistry, didReceiveIncomingPushWith payload: PKPushPayload, for type: PKPushType) async it crashed before show the print "receive voip noti". Here is the core code: var providerDelegate: ProviderDelegate? func pushRegistry(_ registry: PKPushRegistry, didReceiveIncomingPushWith payload: PKPushPayload, for type: PKPushType, completion: @escaping () -> Void) { if type != .voIP { return } guard let uuidString = payload.dictionaryPayload["uuid"] as? getattrlistbulk lists same files over and over on macOS 15 Sequoia
A customer of mine reported that since updating to macOS 15 they aren't able to use my app anymore, which performs a deep scan of selected folders by recursively calling getattrlistbulk. The problem is that the app apparently keeps scanning forever, with the number of scanned files linearly increasing to infinity. This happens for some folders on a SMB volume. The customer confirmed that they can reproduce the issue with a small sample app that I attach below. At first, I created a sample app that only scans the contents of the selected folder without recursively scanning the subcontents, but the issue didn't happen anymore, so it seems to be related to recursively calling getattrlistbulk. The output of the sample app on the customer's Mac is similar to this: start scan /Volumes/shares/Backup/Documents level 0 fileManagerCount 2847 continue scan /Volumes/shares/Backup/Documents new items 8, sum 8, errno 34 /Volumes/shares/Backup/Documents/A.doc /Volumes/shares/Backup/Documents/B.doc ... continue scan /Volumes/shares/Backup/Documents new items 7, sum 1903, errno 0 /Volumes/shares/Backup/Documents/FKV.pdf /Volumes/shares/Backup/Documents/KFW.doc /Volumes/shares/Backup/Documents/A.doc /Volumes/shares/Backup/Documents/B.doc ... which shows that counting the number of files in the root folder by using try FileManager.default.contentsOfDirectory(atPath: path).count returns 2847, while getattrlistbulk lists about 1903 files and then starts listing the files from the beginning, not even between repeated calls, but within a single call. What could this issue be caused by? (The website won't let me attach .swift files, so I include the source code of the sample app as a text attachment.) ViewController.swift

Xcode 16 beta 6 - Widget gallery doesn't show app in iOS 15
We have minimum deployments set to iOS 15 in one of the app for both application and widget target. When install app in simulator or real device using Xcode 15.4, it works fine in iOS15, iOS16, iOS17 and iOS18 beta. When install app in simulator or real device, using Xcode 16 beta 6, it works fine in iOS16, iOS17 and iOS18 beta but in iOS 15, our app doesn't show in widget gallery.

Inquiry about the data format for Live Caller ID Lookup
Hello! https://github.com/apple/live-caller-id-lookup-example/blob/main/Sources/PIRService/PIRService.docc/DataFormat.md The link above shows the data format that the user who gets a call, can get. I wonder if it is also possible to add other fields, for example: "summary". I am currently in the design-phase of an app that aims to present what the last call between the two parties was about, and that information can be gotten from an API that I will build according to Apple's principles that is comaptible with the Live Caller ID Lookup protocol. Therefore adding a field that will present a short summary of the last call will be very handy. Is that possible?
