codesign error - No such file or directory
I'm having a problem with codesign for output from Pyinstaller The files are in ~/PycharmProjects/ALP_Document_Factory_II That folder contains the icon file, the entitlement file, and also contains a "dist" folder where Pyinstaller places the app file (ALP_Document_Factory_II.app) The generated app works and runs when I double click it. When I run codesign: codesign -s xxxxxxxx -f --entitlements entitlements.plist -o runtime dist/ALP_Document_Factory_II.app ("xxxxxxx" is where I place the hash of my credential) I get the following error message: No such file or directory Here is the Terminal copy... minus my Hash dickl45@Dicks-iMac3 ALP_Document_Factory_II % codesign -s xxxxxxxxxx -f --entitlements entitlements.plist -o runtime dist/ALP_Document_Factory_II.app dist/ALP_Document_Factory_II.app: No such file or directory Earlier I was able to use codesign and notarytool, but I must be doing something wrong that I can't see. Multiple Executables in a Single Bundle Fails to Launch Others After Codesign
We have a rather complex network of dependencies for our application stack and, from it, we create multiple unique executables that are placed into the Contents/MacOS directory of our bundle. MyApp.app `- Contents/ `- Frameworks/... `- MacOS/ `- exec_a `- exec_b `- Resources/... Both executables require the same dependencies (and use the same shared .dylib files built as targets in the same project) so it makes sense for them to be in the same place rather than in their own .app folder as I understand it. Qt Libs -> core_lib.dylib -> gui_lib.dylib -> exec_a `-> exec_b etc. We've confirmed build artifacts are correct and the rpath/dependencies are all clean. When in development, all executables run as expected and we can command exec_a (the executable we're listing in the primary Info.plist) to launch exec_b at any time. Once the bundle is signed, however, we cannot get exec_b to launch in any capacity. Even lldb dies right away because it can't attach to anything. We assume this is something in the gatekeeper area of blocking these additional executables. We get the following when trying to run those additional exes in any way: Trace/BPT trap: 5 We're using macdeployqt to finalize the bundle and bring in the correct packages - perhaps something it's doing is causing the additional executables to fail or we're missing an entitlement. We've submitted the app to TestFlights successfully even with these invalid executables to see if there was something the processing of the app would find but so far nothing. We've seen other example of applications with multiple executables in the same MacOS directory and are wondering what the difference is. Any hints or guidance would be great. Thank you!

Unnotarized Developer ID
I'm new to notarizing applications. I'm building an Electron application using electron-packager. The signing looks solid: codesign -vvv --deep --strict path/to/app.app # satisfies its Designated Requirement But checking notarization, looks like it didn't work. spctl --assess -vv path/to/app.app # source=Unnotarized Developer ID # origin=Developer ID Application: Tyson XXXX (XXXXX) I'm wondering how to fix the "Unnotarized Developer ID". Notarization of an simple project is was not working
We are developing an application for MAC machine using .NET. After developing and signing the package in notarization process was failed with the error in the attached file. Then we have created the simple Xamarin.MAC to check whether able to notarize it . But with the simple project also we have faced the same error. Suddenly receiving "Attempted to install a Beta profile without the proper entitlement" on a Flutter-based app
Hello! I'm suddenly having some difficulty debugging a Flutter-based app. When I run an app from VS Code, it launches Xcode and builds & installs the app on an iPhone running 18.1. However, once the app is installed on the phone, it disappears and in Xcode, a dialog appears with: Failed to install embedded profile for : 0xe800801f (Attempted to install a Beta profile without the proper entitlement.) However, when I look at the provisioning profile being used, it seems to have the correct entitlement: I've also tried enabling automatic signing (instead of the current manual signing using match), as well as generating an adhoc profile and re-adding the device UDID in developers.apple.com. None of these have worked. This issue appeared within the past day or so and was working fine yesterday with no code changes, so I've been stumped. All my certs are relatively new and were issued within the past few months. I've tried regenerating the provisioning profiles using match, but this gives the same thing. What's odd is that I can run the build and upload to testflight, then download and install the app just fine through there. But this obviously makes debugging an issue.

Pushkit not listed in Identifiers->Capabilities
I get the error message in Xcode signing certificate Provisioning profile "iOS Team Provisioning Profile: com.example.app" doesn't include the pushkit entitlement. I have push notifications ticked in my Identifier in the online developer account. There is no other dedicated pushkit capability available to select. Push notifications, time sensitive notifications and background mode-> voice over ip are added as capabilities in the Xcode project. The team provisioning profile for the app states under its enabled capabilities: both push notifications and time sensitive notifications. Is pushkit part of another capability that I need to select? I have read the guide below and it just says to add the push notification capability. https://developer.apple.com/documentation/pushkit/supporting-pushkit-notifications-in-your-app I have gone round and round in circles trying to get this profile to work for this, so any pointers would be much appreciated. dlopen on development iPhone codesign issue
Hi, For the purposes of iteration speed in development builds, on an iPhone in development mode, I am attempting to use hot reloaded dylibs. The goal is that the app is rarely fully restarted and small code changes can be applied quickly, drastically reducing iteration speed. For this purpose I have a socket server on my Mac that sends changed dylibs to my app on my iPhone. This works great on Mac, however on iOS i am running into codesigning problems. self-signed jre works in one macos account, but not another
Hi, I have a macOS Intel machine running Ventura 13.7.4. This machine is used as a build node for Jenkins to run a test for a USB device that has an HID interface. The test runner for this is Java's junit on Azul's Zulu JDK 8 for mac. I've added the com.apple.security.device entitlement to this JDK 8 bundle and signed using a self-signed certificate. This certificate is available in the system keychain at: keychain: "/Library/Keychains/System.keychain" version: 256 class: 0x80001000 On my personal account on this machine, I can run the test and it calls IOHIDDevicePlugin's open function and returns success: [junit] [debug] [hid.cpp:1457] HIDAccess::Open Success in open for cDeviceHandle: 0x6000006abb38 If I run the same test logged in as the Jenkins agent account, then open returns: [junit] [debug] [hid.cpp:1484] Could not open HID with handle: 0x600002a5c018, error (-1ffffd3f): (iokit/common) privilege violation I can see the certificate that signed the JDK bundle running the command: security find-certificate -c "java-rt-usb" -a -m The results are the same for both accounts. Is my setup expected to work? I.e. create a self-signed cert in one account with admin privileges, put the cert in the system keychain, sign an app bundle with a new usb entitlement using this cert, and then run that app in another account on the same machine. security find-identity -v -p codesigning 0 valid identities found
I am trying to resign a package using a script from Docebo. But I got an error when running the script error: The specified item could not be found in the keychain. So I ran security find-identity and I got a 0 Valid identity message. But I can see these certificates installed in my keychain and downloaded a brand new mobile provissioning profile. No dice... any ideas?

Checking DMG notarization. Rejected, but works fine
I have a misterous problem with checking DMG notarization. It fails: bash-3.2$ spctl -a -t open --context context:primary-signature -v MyApp.dmg MyApp: rejected source=no usable signature However this DMG installs fine on Big Sur 11.2.2, macOS allows to run this app, and checking of notarization for installed app was passed: bash-3.2$ spctl -a -v '/Applications/MyApp.app' /Applications/MyApp.app: accepted source=Notarized Developer ID I checked other downloaded apps (Intel or Universal). Some DMG files pass DMG notarization (for example, Audacity), and some fails (PerfectTablePlan). Why? Code Signing Python Libraries
I am trying to code sign an application which relies on many python libraries to run. For background knowledge, the .app was created with a —onefile command on Visual Studio. I code signed my application itself using codesign --deep --force --verify --timestamp --sign "Developer ID Application: Issey Yohannes (GL5BCCW69X)" /Users/isseyyohannes/Desktop/Automated\ ALGORA.app However, when I try to run the application the error shows in terminal as follows [PYI-16345:ERROR] Failed to load Python shared library '/var/folders/g9/2zbc7y_97xxbq7bnc301nnyc0000gn/T/_MEI6keRcA/Python': dlopen: dlopen(/var/folders/g9/2zbc7y_97xxbq7bnc301nnyc0000gn/T/_MEI6keRcA/Python, 10): no suitable image found. Did find: /var/folders/g9/2zbc7y_97xxbq7bnc301nnyc0000gn/T/_MEI6keRcA/Python: code signature in (/var/folders/g9/2zbc7y_97xxbq7bnc301nnyc0000gn/T/_MEI6keRcA/Python) not valid for use in process using Library Validation: mapped file has no Team ID and is not a platform binary (signed with custom identity or adhoc?) /var/folders/g9/2zbc7y_97xxbq7bnc301nnyc0000gn/T/_MEI6keRcA/Python: stat() failed with errno=1 Through some external tools, I was able to narrow the issue as follows Hardened Runtime Restriction: Your application is attempting to load a shared library (Python) at runtime, but the library is either: Not properly signed with the same Team ID as your app. Not marked as a valid platform binary. macOS requires all loaded libraries to comply with its code-signing and runtime security policies. Any insight is much appreciated.

Local DriverKit development blocked by provisioning profile requirement
Hi, I am working on a personal HIDDriverKit project. The documentation suggests that you do not need the entitlements from Apple to do local development - that all you need to do is turn of SIP, enable developer mode, and turn signing to "Sign to Run Locally". However, I have followed all of these steps, and am still running into the error that to build, I need to have a provisioning profile with the DriverKit (development) feature (MacOS 15.2 Xcode 16.2). Am I missing something here regarding the steps for local development? Does one need to request a development version of the entitlements even for local development? Do I need a paid developer account to do this? Thank-you in advance.
