While checking our application, we received the following message: We found in our review that your app does not meet all of our requirements for apps that offer highly regulated services or handle sensitive user data. Specifically: The account that submits the app must be enrolled in the Apple Developer Program as an organization, and not as an individual. Can we use this clause to switch our membership to an individual entrepreneur, or is only an LLC or CJSC required?

Sometimes there are apps in the Appstore that do not have guest mode. If I have a self-implemented login, is the guest mode not necessary? If you don't need guest mode, I know that there is only gamecenter login. Do you have any other cases? I'm curious.

Guideline 5.1.1 - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and Storage, app developed on behalf of a client
Hi, I am developing an application for an event that a client of mine is having. I received this comment from Apple: Guideline 5.1.1 - Legal - Privacy - Data Collection and Storage : - The app must be published under a seller and company name that is associated with the organization or company providing the services. In this case, your app must be published under a seller name and company name that reflects the X client name. After sending the respective documentation that my client authorized me to publish the app I developed to my personal account, because they do not have an organizational account, since my client does not develop applications. What else do I need to prove that I am not in violation of this compliance.
**We noticed that your app collects information from various public sources to build individual profiles, which is not appropriate for the App Store. Next Steps To resolve this issue, please remove any feature that attempts to build individual profiles based on collected public data. ** I do not understand what information that I collect from various public sources to build individual profiles My app takes the image from user and process it to extract facial features and compare other faces in the app database also the user can create an account if he wants to post a missing report and I ask to input the name and gender and date of birth and other information of missing person and all of this I explain in app review But I still face this replay what to do ?
Thanks a lot for your response. I don't think that's the point. In fact, your app accesses potentially sensitive user information. I think that's the problem. It does access it, because the company offers a free and open API to encourage third parties to do that. But keep in mind this rule is under section 5.1.1: Data Collection and Storage. My app does not collect or store anything, at all. It's merely accessing the data from a GET endpoint, showing it to the user, and discarding it. I don't even have an account or login system, or even any kind of telemetry. The user just looks at their account data through my app, with their token, then it's gone. Much like a web browser. Are we sure this rule doesn't apply only to apps that actually collect and/or store data? Reading AppStore rule, the app should be submitted by the official firm. It cannot be by an individual developer or by a company that is not a banking or financial service company. Then how do financial aggregators do it? Or regular portfoli

We published an app for iOS which accidentally stores a ton of photos in Data & Documents. The app is live on the App Store, but currently the only way for a user to delete this bloat is to uninstall and re-install the app. Updating does not delete it. We fixed the bug, and put in a notice on the App Store page, but we'd rather take care of this on our end. The app was developed using Unreal Engine 5.1.1. The bloat is caused by Apple ARKit having had the should_write_camera_image_per_frame turned on (see https://docs.unrealengine.com/5.0/en-US/PythonAPI/class/AppleARKitSettings.html). The images are saved to Container/Documents/CameraImages. How can we make it so the next version we push to App Store will delete the contents of this folder upon launch?
Is there any way to package/install/run our game in an Xcode iPhone/iPad Simulator? I’m working on a Silicon (arm64) Mac, so you would think it’s possible. Using Ventura, UE 5.1.1, and Xcode 14. Trying to drag either ipa or app onto simulator does not work. And not seeing any Simulators in the UE Platforms menu. This is mainly for generating screenshots in various sizes for App Store submission… Thanks!
I'm building an AR app for iOS using UE 5.1.1 (and Xcode 14). Using ARKit. When our build made it to Test Flight, we're not getting camera feed for the AR, and the app doesn't ask for permission to access camera. How do we fix this? Is this in Xcode or UE? Do we need to set something up also on App Store Connect / Profiles / etc ? Thanks!
Hi somprabhsharma, Please review the App Store Review Guidelines for the requirements of Legal, Data Collection and Storage, and Sign in with Apple—under 5.1.1(v, ix). You may need to seek legal counsel to determine the appropriate next steps for your app based on the regulations and the compliance in your region. Note: App Store Review does not pre-approve, nor pre-review app submissions, so your developer team and/or counsel will need to submit a production-ready app for review as specified in the guidelines above. Cheers, Paris

My app was rejected because I use the word 'Enable' on a button, which triggers the system permissions request. I've attached below the the rejection reason, along with the screenshot they provided. I made an appeal for this rejection last week, but haven't heard anything since. So I thought I'd ask for opinions. My issue with the rejection is that not only can I not find any violation of Privacy guidelines, but the suggestion from the reviewer is worse and would be a confusing UX. My flow is a typical onboarding flow, describing features and asking for permissions up-front to ensure the app works properly from the start - something lots of apps do. Sure it could be improved but this is the first version & release. Does anyone have any thoughts on this issue, or even a better suggestion than the one the reviewer provided?
We'll be releasing a B2B app next year, this app will be used as part of the employees job. In guidelines section 5.1.1 (V) If your app doesn’t include significant account-based features, let people use it without a login. If your app supports account creation, you must also offer account deletion within the app. A user does not create an account through the app. An account is created for every employee by the client. A user will login via their employee id. This account is controlled by the client. Any and all data generated by the employee is owned by the client as its business data and data must be linked against whoever created (eg to pay commission to employees for the sales they made) So an account exists but the guidelines say If your app supports account creation, you must also offer account deletion within the app. Since a user cannot create an account themselves, the account deletion requirement isn't relevant here. Is my understanding of the guidelines correct? Or is there another section
Hi, My app was rejected by IOS, based on Guideline 5.1.1: we still find the permission request for camera and photos is not sufficient. To resolve this issue, it would be appropriate to revise these and ensure that they sufficiently explain why the app needs this access. It was my 2nd time already, I am frustrated. I asked IOS to give suggestion and it refuses. Can anyone help me if I modified my message as below: AppName would like to access your Camera Allow AppName to take your photo as profile picture. And this photo will be used in-app messaging only. AppName would like to access your Photos Library Allow AppName to capture image from your Photo Library. This image will used as your profile picture and for in-app messaging only. Thanks your help in advance

We are a development team that has developed an application for an oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic. The developer account from which the application is published is registered to a consulting firm that works with this clinic. We were denied publication due to the fact that the developer's account and its name did not reflect the essence of the application. We opened an individual entrepreneur with the same name as the name of the application, but as a legal entity we are not allowed to register, since it is an individual entrepreneur. Support responds to this question by asking us to register the developer's account as an individual entrepreneur and try to send it for verification, and only then will they give an answer based on the verification results. If we register as a regular individual entrepreneur, will the application be allowed for publication? Has anyone encountered this?
