What should I validate before starting development of a new iOS app?
I take a lot of screenshots such as tickets, ideas, chats, and receipts, but I often forget about them later, so I am considering building an iOS app that asks the purpose of a screenshot as soon as it is taken, lets you assign it to a category, and reminds you after a set number of days to turn screenshots into actions instead of clutter. Before starting development, I would love to know if this feels genuinely useful, whether you would consider paying around $2 per month for it, and what features you would like to see, as I truly appreciate any honest feedback.

Pending Termination - No Response to Appeal, App In Review
Dear Apple Review Team, I am writing to request a status update regarding our pending account termination and the appeal currently under review. For reference, please see the timeline below: January 31, 2026: Received Pending Termination Notice January 31, 2026: Submitted appeal and corrective update February 7, 2026: Responded to DPLA compliance notice February 12, 2026: Submitted follow-up via Review Board February 23, 2026: Submitted additional summary follow-up via Review Board and Contact Us In addition to addressing all identified compliance issues, we have submitted all requested verification documentation, including personal identification documents (government-issued ID), proof of address and relevant licensing documentation. At this time, our corrective update remains marked as “In Review,” and we have not yet received further feedback. With the February 28 deadline approaching, we are concerned about the current status of our appeal. We have carefully addressed all identified issues and are fully committed to maintaining compliance with Apple’s policies and guidelines. We respectfully request confirmation that our appeal and corrective submission are actively under review, and we would greatly appreciate any available update regarding next steps. Thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to your response. Sincerely, Tien Nguyen

Unusually Long "Waiting for Review"
New version of our App was uploaded 2 days before. Still it is in waiting for review, not yet available for testing. It is just a minor version that is being updating to. No major changes have been included as part of the new release, still it is taking high time even for getting the build available for testing. Please expedite the process.

Unlocking a demo mode without IAP
I am aware of the following in the App Review Guidelines; 3.1.1 If you want to unlock features or functionality within your app, (by way of example: subscriptions, in-game currencies, game levels, access to premium content, or unlocking a full version), you must use in-app purchase. Apps may not use their own mechanisms to unlock content or functionality, such as license keys, augmented reality markers, QR codes, cryptocurrencies and cryptocurrency wallets, etc. The app itself operates normally, but imposes limits after a limited time of use. Purchasing the full version removes these limits. This is a one-time IAP, not a subscription. My app is aimed at professionals within the entertainment industry, and will only ever be used within a theatre or other similar venue. I do not intend to provide any other paid route to the full version than via the App Store. However, what I would like to do is provide free use at certain events and to students in their educational venues (e.g. college theatres etc)- is it acceptable to use an external mechanism (e.g. a server based API) to temporarily remove the limitations whilst in that venue? Or, likewise, provide an extension to the free trial period for specific uses. Note this is not a purchase, as there is no payment. Therefore there is no revenue outside of the App Store (which surely is the point of the mandate to use IAP for this purpose) Also, it's not fully 'unlocking' the app (the user doesn't get the full version, they just aren't bound by the trial limit timer when within that venue or for a limited time) I'm aware that another route would be to put a different version of the app in the store that requires a username and password for use (for example) and then provide those credentials to log in - as there's lots of apps that follow that model, but it seems clunky to require the user to download a different app.

Auto-renewable subscriptions stuck in "Developer Action Needed" - Cannot attach to binary
Hi everyone, I am trying to submit the first version of my app with auto-renewable subscriptions, but I am stuck in a loop. Both of my subscriptions (Yearly and Monthly) are stuck with the status "Developer Action Needed". Because of this status, they do not appear in the list of available In-App Purchases when I try to attach them to my app binary on the App Store Connect submission page. Here is what I have already done/checked: All metadata is filled out (Display Name, Description, Pricing). Review Information is complete (Screenshot and Review Notes are provided). My "Paid Applications" agreement in the Agreements, Tax, and Banking section is Active. I contacted Apple Developer Support by phone, but they were unable to resolve the issue and suggested I post here for help. Has anyone experienced this "limbo" before? How can I trigger the status to change to "Ready to Submit" so I can finally attach them to my build and send the app for review? (I have attached screenshots of my App Store Connect dashboard showing the issue). Thanks in advance for any help!

Waiting for Review for 21 Days, Need Assistance
One of my apps has been stuck in “Waiting for Review” for the past 21 days. App ID: 6758734829. I have contacted other support channels over the past few weeks but have not received any response. I also have three additional apps, App IDs 6758755469, 6759047311, and 6759095185, that have been in review for the last 14 days. All of these apps have already been live on the Google Play Store for months. I am trying to launch them on the App Store so I can move forward with my marketing plans. I kindly request Apple to review these submissions and help resolve whatever is causing the delay.

Key lessons after two months of building my first iOS app
After nearly ten years in Android development, I finally built a native iOS app, sharing the journey publicly while learning Swift and SwiftUI, using AI selectively, and finding the platform familiar yet different in tooling, concurrency, and culture. I reached production without initially buying a developer account and faced a stricter, iterative App Store review process than the Play Store, with several rejections that ultimately clarified Apple’s quality standards and expectations.

App Stuck in “Waiting for Review” Since February 4, 2026 – No Status Update
Hello everyone, My app has been in “Waiting for Review” status since February 4, 2026, and there has been no progress or update since then. Normally, my previous submissions were reviewed within a few days, but this time it has been significantly delayed. There are no messages in the Resolution Center, and I have not received any communication from the App Review team. Has anyone else experienced similar delays recently? Is there anything I can do to follow up or escalate this review? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

App distributed but IAP - is waiting for review.
Hi, My app VITTRA has been approved and is live on the App Store. also i have already pushed even another update …However, I submitted two in-app purchases along with the app: 1. VITTRA Pro (Non-Consumable) — Status: “In Review” 2. AI Scan Pack (Consumable) — Status: “Waiting for Review” The app binary was approved and distributed, but the IAPs are still under review. My app’s core functionality depends on these purchases being available to users. A few questions: 1. Is it normal for IAPs to remain in review after the app itself has been approved and distributed? 2. Is there an expected timeline for IAP reviews when submitted alongside a new app? 3. Is there anything I can do to expedite the process, or should I just wait? Any guidance would be appreciated. Its a real frustrating situation and there is not a single response from the support. Thanks!

Which tools and concepts are essential to learn first in iOS development?
I’m beginning my journey in iOS app development with a strong Java background and an app idea in mind, and I want to learn the best practices, tools, and workflows to build it the right way from the start. I’d appreciate guidance on useful AI tools for coding and learning Swift or SwiftUI, how developers approach app design, and recommended sources for UI inspiration, graphics, and overall development tips.

TestFlight installation failing across multiple apps – “The requested app is not available” (Account-level issue?)
Hello, I am experiencing a persistent TestFlight installation issue affecting multiple unrelated apps under the same Apple Developer account. For all affected apps: Builds upload successfully to App Store Connect Processing completes normally Builds appear in TestFlight Internal and external testing can be enabled Public links generate correctly However, when attempting to install the app via TestFlight, the installation fails with the error: “The requested app is not available or doesn’t exist.” This occurs: For internal testers For external testers Across different Apple IDs Across different devices With newly created apps After incrementing build numbers After re-uploading builds After signing out/in of TestFlight After regenerating provisioning profiles After creating entirely new app entries The issue currently affects: • TubeChat AI – Apple ID 6752591427 • Vibex – Apple ID 6756860663 • vigilAI – Apple ID 6757738356 Since multiple unrelated apps are impacted in the same way, this appears to be an account-level or App Store Connect backend issue rather than a code signing or project configuration problem. Has anyone encountered a similar situation where TestFlight distribution fails across all apps within a developer account? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Unable to enroll in Apple Developer Program – Invalid State/Region value for Kosovo
Hello, I am trying to enroll in the Apple Developer Program, but I cannot complete the payment. During the purchase process, I receive the following error: We are unable to complete your order. My details: Country: Kosovo State/Province/Region: Kosovo Region (selected from the available option) I have verified my information multiple times, but the error appears every time. I have contacted Apple Developer Support multiple times over the past month.I have not received any response (positive or negative). I need to complete enrollment to publish my apps, and this delay is blocking my work.

Set base price and currency for app package in App Store Connect
For apps, I can select a base price and region (currency) so that prices for other regions adapt automatically, but for app packages I can only set a base price in USD. I just noticed that my app package wasn't visible on the App Store anymore because of an automatic price change which caused its price in USD to become invalid (too low), as it was below the highest app price within the package. Is it intended that I have to monitor price changes and manually correct prices for app packages? I created FB22093289.

Trapped in a "Black Box": Almost 3 weeks of App Review silence and ignored support tickets. Is this normal?
Hi everyone, I am writing this out of pure desperation because I honestly don't know what else to do or where to turn. My app has been stuck in the review process since February 9th (almost 3 weeks now), and I feel like I am completely trapped in a black box. I have tried every official channel available to get at least some information: I submitted requests for an expedited review. I opened 3 separate tickets with Developer Support, but received absolutely zero response. Just complete, deafening silence. I finally called the developer hotline. The representative was polite but completely unhelpful. I was basically told that "everything is fine, this timeline is normal, we can't do anything to help you, just keep waiting." Just to put this wait time into perspective, while sitting in this Apple "black box" waiting for a single message, I have managed to do the following: Registered a Google Play Developer account and fully verified my identity. Almost completely rewrote my entire app from scratch, translating it from Swift to Kotlin. Uploaded the Android version, got it approved, and I am already on Day 8 of closed testing in Google Play! Meanwhile, in App Store Connect, absolutely nothing has changed. No status updates, no rejections, no questions from the reviewers, no replies to my tickets. Just an absolute void. Has anyone else experienced this kind of extreme delay and complete lack of communication recently? For context, here are my details: Submission ID: db1ffb72-8f0f-49bc-b215-179e1e179b7d Apple ID: 6756239914 Any advice or shared experiences would be deeply appreciated. Thank you.

What risks do you think indie iOS developers face in 2026?
I’m interested in hearing what currently concerns other indie iOS developers, as 2026 feels both exciting and somewhat fragile to me, with the constant worry that an Apple account issue or unexpected rejection could undo years of hard work overnight. AI has made cloning apps easier than ever and even strong niches can quickly attract well funded competitors, so while I’m optimistic about building, these are the realities I often find myself thinking about.

Demo Content or Not for Submission
Hello. We've developed a compatibility engine for the App Store. We collect very detailed profile information from users and use this information to dynamically calculate compatibility scores with the help of AI, recommending users to each other. The app is newly completed and we don't have any real users yet. My questions are: We are at the initial approval stage, Should we submit a completely empty application, or will the reviewer account create accounts with matching genders? Should we create one or more fake users? We have profiles that we created as demos (to inspire users) and indicated with a badge as "demo"s, but these don't appear in the "Explore" section. Should we add these people to the explore section? Assuming the people appearing in the explore section are demos, should the "request to meet" button be active for these demo content? Should it be possible to chat with demo people? After the submission is approved, will we delete the fake people or remove the demo people from the Explore section again? Is this possible? Which approach is correct to avoid being perceived as "fake content"?

Waiting for Review” since February 2.
My app has been stuck in “Waiting for Review” since February 2. I’ve tried the following: *Contacted App Store Connect support multiple times *Submitted an expedited review request *Resubmitting for review after 14 days Unfortunately, I haven’t received any response to either. Is anyone else experiencing unusual review delays right now? Is there anything else I can do to escalate this or get visibility into what’s happening? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

In-App purchases Rejected
'Guideline 2.1 - Performance - App Completeness' - "...could not be found in the submitted binary." I have checked with internal and external testers and my devices and simulators, everyone sees the in app purchases but I just had my submitted rejected for the second time with the comment that these in-app none-consumable purchases cannot be found with the submitted binary. I even attached a slow step by step screen recording for the review reply after the first rejection showing how to reach the purchasable packs by navigating through only 3 buttons: "How to access the purchase flow: Launch the app Tap the bottom-center Settings button (icon: switch.2) Tap “Customisation gallery” Scroll to find any pack listed above Tap the pack price chip Tap “Buy pack – [price]” to start the StoreKit purchase flow" I also attached a clear image along with detailed instruction (same as above) for the Review Information. and the second rejection was received today for the same reason. I'm being guided to the localization 'Developer Action Needed'. I'm not sure what more can be done? I feel like my review replies aren't even looked at.

Trapped in a "Black Box": Almost 3 weeks of App Review silence and ignored support tickets. Is this normal?
Hi everyone, I am writing this out of pure desperation because I honestly don't know what else to do or where to turn.
