If I define some values in an .xcconfig then I can use those to supply a value to an element within Info.plist, but if I try to do the same for a .plist with any other name then it doesn't work.
Is this some sort of hard-coded constraint?
(I can't move the elements out of the custom .plist into Info.plist as its being read by a 3rd party framework)

Hi,
May I ask if there is any iOS API or similar way to switch between the transparency and ANC modes of AirPods Pro 2? I know there is one way to configure and activate the shortcut in the APP, which requires an inconvenient manual setting. May I ask for any other advice? Thx in advance!
Hi,
May I ask if there is any API or similar way inside the iOS app to set up/switch the transparency and ANC modes of the AirPods Pro 2? One way is to set up one shortcut and activate that shortcut in the app, but it requires manually setting for a shortcut, which is not convenient.
Thx for any advice on that!
My 2019 Chevy Equinox has been shutting down the radio and fully restarting all electrical components when my phone is plugged in and on Apple CarPlay. It is fully restarting the system down to the charging ports. My car doesn’t have any updates it needs.
Hi all,
I’ve been facing a behavior issue with shouldAutomaticallyForwardAppearanceMethods in UITabBarController. According to Apple’s documentation, this property should default to YES, which means that the appearance lifecycle methods (like viewWillAppear and viewDidAppear) should be automatically forwarded to child view controllers.
However, in my current development environment, I’ve noticed that shouldAutomaticallyForwardAppearanceMethods returns NO by default in UITabBarController, and this is causing some issues with lifecycle management in my app. I even tested this behavior in several projects, both in Swift and Objective-C, and the result is consistent.
Here are some details about my setup:
I’m using Xcode 16.0 with iOS 16.4 Simulator.
I’ve tested the behavior in both a new UIKit project and a simple SwiftUI project that uses a UITabBarController.
Even with a clean new project, the value of shouldAutomaticallyForwardAppearanceMethods is NO by default.
This behavior contradicts the official documentation, which states that it should be YES by default. Could someone clarify if this is expected behavior in newer versions of iOS or if there is a known issue regarding this?
Any help or clarification would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Hello, I am writing a research paper for my college marketing class and was hoping to get some insight as to the cost structure applicable to an online gambling app. The hypothetical app in question is an app in which users are able to use real money to bet on games but I can not find a cost structure besides the common in app purchase revenue sharing model of 30%. Is this still applicable in this hypothetical case or is an alternative revenue sharing model applicable due to this app's unique structure. Furthermore, would this fee be taken from bets (due to the apps losses) or from all realized profits?
Hi,
I'm trying to set up FIRDebugEnabled as launch arguments in app delegate based on user choice using ProcessInfo.processInfo.arguments. Which is working fine in iOS 17 and below devices and stoped working in iOS 18
Here is my sample,
if condition {
var arguments = ProcessInfo.processInfo.arguments
arguments.append("-FIRDebugEnabled")
ProcessInfo.processInfo.setValue(arguments, forKey: "arguments")
}
hello.
I am using the app with webview.
When I log in to Apple, a typeerror appears.
How can I solve this?

Downloaded files cannot be located anywhere in Files, only by accessing Downloads in Safari. I have tried setting download folder to various locations, iCloud, Phone, Google Disk, but nothing is stored.
Has an invisible cache or temp folder been introduced? If so, it is a total fail:
When press-holding any file in Safari download, the normal file action options (Quick Look, share, store to Files, etc) are not available.
When clicking any file it opens any of several apps that has this file type associated with it, and there is no way to change the default app or disable the forced opening of an app.
I tried deleting the app opening .csv (in this case OneDrive), and another irrelevant app opened. There seems to be a hierarchy of apps-file types, and it has no logic to it.
in Chrome behaviour is as expected.

We have been using a Supervision Identity successfully over the last few years to allow us to Xcode debug on managed devices. Something has changed in the last few months which we are finding it hard to find a consistent solution to. We can't determine whether it's Xcode 15/iOS version related. Behaviour we see documented below
All Macs with the Supervision Identity installed can open the device in Apple Configurator without need for trust acknowledge on the device. Configurator can open and stream the device console.
All problematic devices are also registered as a development device with Apple.
We have hit and miss connectivity in Finder, On failure it indicates that the trust prompt on the device needs to be accepted. No trust prompt is displayed
Developer Mode on the device can't be enabled until we attempt to connect to Xcode
Devices that pair successfully in Xcode do so almost immediately. If a device pairs in Xcode it is also visible in the native macOS Console application
If a device fails to pair in Xcode we get a spinner and the message
"Xcode has already started pairing with 'iPhone-X'. Select Trust on iPhone-X to complete pairing".
The macOS console app reports
"The user has not responded to the pairing request on 'iPhone-X' In neither case is a trust prompt displayed on a device.
We are not able to Xcode pair any managed device running iOS 17.x. This includes devices that were successfully paired on iOS16.x then upgraded
iOS16.x devices that pair with one Mac successfully will not pair with another Mac with the same Supervision Identity installed.
The same behaviour is seen on Ventura and Sonoma Macs
Clearing Trusted Computers in IOS Developer Mode has no effect
None supervised iOS devices pair successfully on iOS 16 and 17
Has anyone else witnessed similar issues and found a work around ?
I used .tint(.yellow) to change the default back button color. However, I noticed that the color of the alert button text, except for .destructive, also changed. Is this a bug or Apple’s intended behavior?
Thank you!
Below is my code:
// App
struct tintTestApp: App {
var body: some Scene {
WindowGroup {
MainView()
.tint(.yellow)
}
}
// MainView
var mainContent: some View {
Text("Next")
.foregroundStyle(.white)
.onTapGesture {
isShowingAlert = true
}
.alert("Go Next View", isPresented: $isShowingAlert) {
Button("ok", role: .destructive) {
isNextButtonTapped = true
}
Button("cancel", role: .cancel){}
}
}
I am basically a front-end engineer and am eager to transition into app development, particularly for iOS and iPadOS platforms. I am aware of tools like Xcode and Swift but would greatly appreciate guidance on the best place to start.
Please suggest a structured learning path or resources that would help me build a strong foundation and advance my skills effectively?
Thank you!
When I try to connect to a Wi-Fi network with iPhone16 (iOS18), the following pop-up appears. Please tell me the conditions under which this pop-up appears. Additionally, upon investigating the surrounding wireless signals, there were no other wireless devices on the same channel band."
[Pop-up]
Unable to join the network "〇〇〇〇"
This network is operating on Wi-Fi channels in use by several other nearby networks. Restarting your wireless router may allow it to automatically choose the best channel to use, and may resolve this problem.
Also, I can connect to a Wi-Fi network without any problems with iPhoneSE2 (iOS18). However, after displaying the above pop-up on iPhone16 (iOS18), when I try to connect to a Wi-Fi network with iPhoneSE2 (iOS18), the following pop-up appears. The content of this pop-up is different from the pop-up displayed on iPhone16 (iOS18). Please tell me the reason why the content of the pop-up is different.

To quickly change emails to “read” status in gmail, I tap on emails (opening them) and when in the email I either swipe right or tap the back arrow to return to inbox. I like to do many of these in quick succession to get rid of the amount of unread emails I have.
Once an email is opened, it freezes on the opened page and I have to exit the Gmail app to unfreeze it. About every second or third email in a row is freezing
We submitted firewall request to below destination subnets and we still see connection refused to port 5223. Please advise why are we seeing connection refused and should we need 5223 port.
Subnets - 17.249.0.0/16, 17.252.0.0/16, 17.57.144.0/22, 17.188.128.0/18, 17.188.20.0/23
A few observations
Very slow response and loading times for both URLs, forms, and scrolling
Frequently non-responsive touch-screen for on-page forms and actions
Keyboard stays open with no option to get rid of it
Auto zoom stuck in xoomed-in mode, often hiding "Save"/"Submit"-buttons
Dowbload folder setting ignored
Toggling of web inspector mode does not work
In vertical mode, with address bar on top of screen, clicking items on bottom part of page is not registered as click, but makes the navigation bar pop up, hiding the clickable feature.
For clicks to register, frequently 2-3 touches are required.
It is possible to provide new updates for the existing users while not having any more new users download our app by removing the app from sale ?
