Reply to macOS App Distributed via ZIP Cannot Open — Possible Code Signing / Notarization Issue
is both a Developer ID certificate and Apple notarization required on current macOS versions?
Yes. Developer ID signing has been required for a long time (10.8?). Notarisation for apps has been required since 10.14.
Is [ditto] necessary to properly preserve the app bundle structure and extended attributes?
Yes and no. If you compress with the Finder then extended attributes get sequestered, which is not good. See Extended Attributes and Zip Archives. The ditto tool doesn’t do that by default. However, in an ideal world this wouldn’t matter because your code signature should not depend on extended attributes. If you find that it does, that suggests your have a bundle structure problem. We talk about this more in TN3126 Inside Code Signing: Hashes and Placing content in a bundle. As to what’s actually happening here, it’s hard

macOS App Distributed via ZIP Cannot Open — Possible Code Signing / Notarization Issue
My team is distributing a cross-platform app outside the Mac App Store via ZIP file. The app works perfectly on Windows, but on macOS, while the ZIP downloads and extracts without issue, the app refuses to open. Users see either the app appear in the dock then immediately disappear or a Gatekeeper prompt saying the developer cannot be verified. We suspect the root cause is related to code signing and/or notarization, but we're not entirely sure where the breakdown is occurring. We have a few questions as we work through this. For ZIP-based distribution outside the Mac App Store, is both a Developer ID certificate and Apple notarization required on current macOS versions? We've also seen references to using ditto instead of Finder's built-in Compress option when packaging the ZIP. Is that necessary to properly preserve the app bundle structure and extended attributes? Any guidance on where this process might be going wrong would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Reply to Submitting an app and waiting time, what is the timeline for app reviewers? And other questions
Does app review depend on app reviewers availability? And holidays etc? Yes, of course. If there are no reviewers available, then there is no one to review your app. And yes, Apple does regularly shut down app reviews for significant holidays. IS there a maximum number of days that an app has to be reviewed before end of that period? In other words: if an app is posted, a review HAS TO HAPPEN before x days, is a rule (hopefully) or no? Nobody outside of Apple knows Apple's internal app review procedures. However, we can make logical inferences. Let's suppose there is a rule that a review HAS TO HAPPEN before 10 days. OK, then. Now let's suppose that doesn't happen. We can suppose that because obvious you wouldn't be asking otherwise. 😄 Does your app get automatic approval? Obviously not. Is the app reviewer who didn't make quota subject to some kind of internal discipline, and possible reassignment, or even termination? Sure. That's possible. Then your app would be reassigned to a new reviewer, who hopefully

Every Unity project with ARKit doesn't open in Testflight
Even when making a completely fresh Unity project, if I include ARKit and upload it to testflight, when I open it on my ipad it says 'Couldn't Load App'. If I don't include testflight the app opens fine. If I build the app directly to my ipad the app works fine. It opens if I set ARKit to 'optional' but then the AR doesn't work. I have included a camera and location usage description so it's not that. Really not sure what's going on, any help would be massively appreciated!

Unable to Remove “Sign in with Apple” of my app
Hello, I’m trying to remove the “Sign in with Apple” for my app via the iOS settings (also tried on a Mac, and on the web via account.apple.com). When I tap “Stop Using”, nothing happens, the dialog disappear but the app remains listed. Someone said on a forum that the issue is linked with the ServiceId that doesn't exist anymore. But how to recover it ? And anyway this behavior is unintended and creates a gap in the process. Has anyone experienced this before? Is there a known fix, or should I contact Apple Support directly for server-side revocation? Thank you!

Source view disappearing when interrupting a zoom navigation transition
When I use the .zoom transition in a navigation stack, I get a glitch when interrupting the animation by swiping back before it completes. When doing this, the source view disappears. I can still tap it to trigger the navigation again, but its not visible on screen. This seems to be a regression in iOS 26, as it works as expected when testing on iOS 18. Has someone else seen this issue and found a workaround? Is it possible to disable interrupting the transition? Filed a feedback on the issue FB19601591 Screen recording: https://share.icloud.com/photos/04cio3fEcbR6u64PAgxuS2CLQ Example code @State var showDetail = false @Namespace var namespace var body: some View { NavigationStack { ScrollView { showDetailButton } .navigationTitle(Title) .navigationBarTitleDisplayMode(.inline) .navigationDestination(isPresented: $showDetail) { Text(Detail) .navigationTransition(.zoom(sourceID: zoom, in: namespace)) } } } var showDetailButton: some View { Button { showDetail = true } label: { Text(Show detail) .paddi

Question: How to support landscape-only on iPad app after 'Support for all orientations will soon be required' warning
Dear Apple Customer Support, I’m developing a new Swift iPadOS app and I want the app to run in landscape only (portrait disabled). In Xcode, under Target > General > Deployment Info > Device Orientation, if I select only Landscape Left and Landscape Right, the app builds successfully, but during upload/validation I receive this message and the upload is blocked: “Update the Info.plist: Support for all orientations will soon be required.” Could you please advise what the correct/recommended way is to keep an iPad app locked to landscape only while complying with the current App Store upload requirements? Is there a specific Info.plist configuration (e.g., UISupportedInterfaceOrientations~ipad) or another setting that should be used? Thank you,

Apple Developer Account Stuck in Individual to Organization Migration
Hello, My Apple Developer account is currently stuck in an Individual to Organization migration state. The organization verification was declined earlier, but the migration flag is still active on my account. Because of this, my membership benefits are temporarily disabled and I cannot submit new app builds for review. I already contacted Apple Developer Program Support and opened a case. Case ID: 102826815891 However, I have not received a response yet and my account is still locked in the migration state. Has anyone experienced this issue before or know how it can be resolved? Thank you.

Reply to StoreKit1: finishTransaction fails to work as expected in iOS 26.4
We started experiencing a similar issue on the day iOS 26.4 Beta 1 was released (2026/02/18). Firebase Analytics is reporting a large number of duplicate in_app_purchase events for some users starting from that day. A few things we've observed: All of the affected transactions are non-consumable items. The duplicated events are triggered right after the process starts. All affected users are on iOS 26.4 So far we haven’t been able to reproduce it locally. It might be because our tests are using the sandbox or because our debug builds are compiled with Xcode 26. So I can't say for sure if it's exactly the same issue as yours, but it looks quite similar.

Missing Entitlement com.apple.developer.wireless-insights.service-predictions in Enterprise Program Provisioning Profiles, Available in Individual Account
Apple has introduced the Wireless Insights Service Predictions capability in iOS 26. After prior alignment with Apple engineers, we are working to integrate this capability into the Douyin App, and intend to provide a TestFlight build for Apple engineers to validate and debug the integration. We have encountered a blocking issue with entitlement configuration: We use our Apple Developer Enterprise Program account to build and submit TestFlight builds. When we manually create and configure provisioning profiles via the Apple Developer Portal, the required entitlement key com.apple.developer.wireless-insights.service-predictions is not available for selection or inclusion in the profile's Entitlements. This completely blocks us from enabling, using, and validating the Wireless Insights Service Predictions capability. For comparison, when we use our Apple Developer Program individual account, the entitlement com.apple.developer.wireless-insights.service-predictions is fully available.

I tried to build my project with -fsanitize=fuzzer. This failed to link with libclang_rt.fuzzer_osx.a not found when attempting to link the code. I mean really!! Why on earth would you exclude this from the version of clang that ships with XCode!

Which backend platform do you rely on for powering your iOS applications in 2026?
Curious what backend others are choosing these days. I am building a vocabulary app and exploring which backend would be a good fit. Considering options like CloudKit, Firebase, Supabase, AWS Amplify, custom servers, or a combination. What are you using and what made you choose it?
