An unrecognised subscription
Hello, I have a problem with a subscription: it is not recognised by my application (under TestFlight); it is as if it did not exist. I have two subscriptions in the same group, a premium subscription that works perfectly and a basic subscription that is not recognised. I have checked everything at least twenty times. Its status is ‘Ready to submit’. I asked GPT 5.1 and Claude AI, but clearly both of their AIs are out of date and are giving me an obsolete procedure with App Store Connect options that don't exist.

SD (Standard Definition) Episodes show same price as HD
Apple told me to contact the developer, as they said that they only process payments. On October 6, 2025, I purchased SD, Standard Definition, Episode 1 of The Real Housewives of Potomac for $1.99 [as usual], but when I went to purchase SD Episode 2, it is $2.99. Will upcoming episodes also be $2.99 for Standard Definition episodes? I have been checking for several days, thinking the price issue will be resolved, but SD episode 2 is still $2.99. I haven’t checked other shows for purchases of episodes. Is this price going to be updated, corrected for SD, particularly, for the show mentioned above, to $1.99?

IAP Requirement Blocks 98% of Nigerian Users Due to Card Restrictions
Hi Apple Team, I'm a Nigerian developer building an app for local users, and I’m facing a major challenge: Due to CBN regulations, most Nigerian cards can’t make international payments and do not support Dynamic currency conversion, which means In-App Purchases (IAP) don’t work for most Nigerians. My app involves real-world services with external rewards and users would have to subscribe to be members, yet it’s unclear whether IAP is still mandatory. If I am forced to use IAP, most Nigerian users simply can’t pay, and I lose nearly all revenue. Questions: Can developers targeting Nigeria use local gateways like Paystack or Flutterwave instead of IAP ? Will Apple provide alternatives or guidance for regions where IAP is effectively unusable? This is a critical issue for many local developers. I’d appreciate any official clarification. Thanks, Joseph (Nigerian Developer)

App Store Server Notification Issue
Hello, I am writing this because the behavior of the App Store Server Notification that our server receives is problematic in the Sandbox environment. I have two questions in total. When purchasing a Free Trial subscription, after receiving the SUBSCRIBED / INITAL_BUY Notification, DID_RENEW should be sent when it expires, but DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW/GRACE_PERIOD is sent. The EXPIRE Notification is sent after the subscription expires or DID_CHANGE_RENEWAL_STATUS/AUTO_RENEW_DISABLED is sent, but it does not arrive. The first problem is that I recently heard that automatic payments after a free trial require the user's consent via email. Is this the reason? If so, I am curious about how I can test it in the Sandbox environment. Is the second problem a bug?

Guidance on Migrating Active Subscriptions from Apple Server Notifications v1 to v2
I’m reaching out regarding our existing in-app subscription implementation that currently uses App Store Server Notifications version 1 (v1). Our live application has a significant number of active recurring subscriptions that are being managed through the v1 webhook integration. We have now developed a revamped version of our application, which uses the same Apple Developer Account and App Store Connect setup, but in this new app version, we’ve implemented App Store Server Notifications version 2 (v2). Before moving forward with the migration, I would like to clarify the following points to ensure a smooth transition and avoid any disruptions to ongoing subscriptions: Backward Compatibility: Will existing active subscriptions (originally created and managed via v1 notifications) continue to work seamlessly once we switch to v2, or do we need to maintain both v1 and v2 endpoints during the transition? Notification Delivery: If both webhook versions are configured simultaneously, will Apple send notifications to both endpoints, or only the one currently configured in App Store Connect? Migration Strategy: What is Apple’s recommended best practice for migrating from v1 to v2 in a scenario where the live app still has active subscriptions tied to the v1 webhook? Potential Risks or Considerations: Are there any known limitations, delays, or issues that we should prepare for during this migration (for example, differences in payload structure or event types between v1 and v2 that could affect subscription lifecycle management)? I would greatly appreciate your guidance or documentation links that outline the correct migration steps and recommended approach for ensuring continuity of service for all existing subscribers.

how is the refund amount calculated for auto-renewing upgrade?
Hi, We have a app with some auto-renewing subscription in a group of subscriptions. When a user upgrade from a subscription to another, the "user receive a refund of the prorated amount of their original subscription" (https://developer.apple.com/app-store/subscriptions/). How is the prorated calculated ? Example : subscription to 14,99$ / month. If subscriber upgrade after 10 days, is the refund calculated 10/30 of 14,99$ (so ~5$) ?

Apple ID Password Is Required During In-App Purchase
Hello, I would like to ask about an Apple ID authentication behavior during in-app purchases. Our app uses a StoreKit 1 (SKPaymentQueue-based) implementation, and there are no differences in the in-app purchase logic between the TestFlight build and the App Store production build. However, we have observed that some users are prompted to enter their Apple ID password during in-app purchases. The observed behavior is as follows: On the first in-app purchase, the system prompts for the Apple ID password After the password is entered once, subsequent purchases proceed normally using Face ID (double side-button press) Even after deleting and reinstalling the app, or switching between TestFlight and App Store builds, the password prompt does not reappear if authentication has already occurred This behavior can occur even when the Apple ID already has an active auto-renewable subscription The only confirmed change on our side is: The app is now built with Xcode 26 instead of Xcode 18 Based on this, we are currently considering the following possible causes: A change in purchase authentication behavior due to the Xcode version update Expiration of the Apple ID purchase authentication session after a long period without purchases In addition to these points, we would like to ask: Are there any other common conditions or security policies in iOS or the App Store that may cause the system to require Apple ID password input during in-app purchases? Is this behavior considered expected under certain circumstances? We would appreciate your clarification on whether this is expected system behavior or if there are any implementation aspects we should further review. Thank you for your support.

Auto-Renewal Subscription Rejection for Non-Dynamic Content
A few weeks ago, I explored the possibility of installing auto-renewal subscription plans on an iOS app. Initially, I thought subscription plans are allowed for news and magazine apps. Then I saw this Apple website, which actually encourages us to provide 'free, limited access to app content.' So I took their advice and submitted an iOS app that has no dynamic content to App Store. I submitted another. Two apps have been approved. And I have got the third one put on hold several days ago. The reviewer has asked me an uncomfortable line of questions repeatedly like What are changes? How often? that I have never received in my 13 or 14 year history. Then he or she rejected it two days ago. And I got a 4th one approved at the same time. So three are admitted in with one rejected. Does an app have to have dynamic content to use auto-renewal subscription plans? I don't find any statement in Apple Review Guidelines that prohibits me from installing auto-renewal subscription plans on non-dynamic content app. There are other big-time apps like Microsoft 365 and Adobe Photoshop that are available with subscription plans. I am very perplexed.

Subscription price for existing subscribers unchanged after price increase
We scheduled for a price rise for July 3rd. We have >90% of subscribers on a standard monthly subscription (without trials or offers), and we gave more than the requisite notice (we scheduled these on May 20). We also chose in the price increase flow to apply the new price to existing subscribers. On July 3rd, the price for new subscribers went up as expected. However, we are still seeing all our renewals at the old price. My own subscription to the app renewed today (July 15th) - but at the old price. In my Settings app, I can see that the next renewal (August 15th) will be at the new price. I also haven't had any notifications/email from Apple about the rise (which should happen 27 days before the rise, so will likely happen for me on July 19th....but that should've been June 19th). So it appears that while the new price will be applied to existing subscribers, it is happening a month after the scheduled price rise. Some of our customers are being contacted by Apple about the price rise...for August, when it should have already taken place. Given that we scheduled this way more than 27 days ahead, why would the price rise for existing subscribers not take place at the planned date? Are there other reasons that are not documented? The only two reasons we can see are a) insufficient planning notice and b) trial periods being respected - neither of which apply here. We can see significant cancellations from July 3rd in countries where customers have to opt-in for a price rise, primarily Germany. So it seems that the price rise definitely came into effect for our existing subscribers, causing opt-in cancellations, but the customers aren't actually paying the higher price for another cycle. Any ideas?

How can I change my country on the developer account?
I enrolled years ago and abandoned my app project. I'm trying again now to port a web app I already created but I no longer live in the U.S. Like many countries in the global south, Costa Rica does not have physical addresses. My ID here does not have an address on it. We don't have postal services, not like in western countries. Our bank statements don't have addresses on them: because we don't have addresses. My utility bill is in my wife's name and so is my phone and internet. Yet I'm being asked to provide these details I cannot provide. I cannot pay for a developer subscription otherwise because my card is from a bank here, not the U.S. I also need my developer account to be FROM here so that any business org I create is also FROM here. What can I do? They're asking me for: A photocopy of your valid (not expired) government-issued identification showing the new address • A recent change-of-address document filed with your local postal service • A document from your local registration office showing the new address • A recent utility bill, bank statement, or a letter from a government agency that shows your name and new address

What Happens to Existing Subscribers if I Remove a Subscription Plan from Sale in App Store Connect?
Hi everyone, I'm a developer with an app that offers several subscription plans. I'm planning to set the availability of one specific subscription to "none" in App Store Connect, effectively removing it from sale so that new users can no longer subscribe to it. However, I’m not sure what will happen to users who already have an active subscription to this plan. If I set the availability to none (remove it from all storefronts), will those existing users continue to be charged and automatically renewed for future billing cycles as usual? Or does this action also stop renewals for current subscribers? I’m asking this specifically because I want to prevent discontinued subscription plans from showing up in the "In-App Purchases" section of my app on the App Store. I'm posting this because I’ve found several threads in the developer forums with contradictory answers. Some say users will continue to be charged as long as they don’t cancel, while others suggest that removing availability might stop renewals automatically. I'd really appreciate a definitive answer or any official documentation on this. Examples https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/694191 https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/739491 To be clear, my goal is to stop new users from subscribing, but I want existing subscribers to continue being charged and renewed normally unless they cancel on their own. Thanks in advance for any clarification or experiences you can share! Best regards,

Receipt and Notification behavior after "Remove from Sale"
What is the expected behavior for App Receipts and ASSN v2 notifications when a subscription is set to "Remove from Sale"? I tried to test this in Sandbox, but the "Remove from Sale" setting in App Store Connect doesn't seem to affect the Sandbox environment. For existing subscribers, what happens in the receipt? Does auto_renew_status change to 0 and is expiration_intent populated immediately? Also, which notificationType is sent via ASSN v2?

verifyReceipt endpoint failing on occassion
I am finding that the verifyReceipt endpoint used to verify a receipt is failing on occassion starting around October 27, 2015. I realize this API is deprecated. I am using cURL to call verifyReceipt. The specific errors are 52 - Empty reply from server and 56 - Connection closed abruptly. This indicates an issue with Apple's server as I understand it. Is anyone else experiencing this as well?
