Hello. I need to develop for iOS 18. I've recently updated Xcode and it says I have to download ios 26 platform. I don't need it, but I can no longer build my existing projects against ios 18, even though Xcode says it's still installed and used 13 days ago. How to I remedy this?

Hi everyone,
I recently updated to Xcode 26.0 and noticed that the “Extract Subview” refactoring option seems to be missing.
Now, in Xcode 26, the only options I see under Editor -> Refactor -> are:
Extract to Selection File
Extract to Method
Extract to Variable
Extract All Occurrences
But there’s no Extract Subview as there was before.
Was Extract Subview intentionally removed in Xcode 26? Or is it hidden behind a new menu location or renamed?
I have 2 app store connect apps:
""
".beta"
This is necessary for our usecase as we are building an iOS blockchain wallet, for a chain that updates itself every ~3 months adding new features/changing. We need the communities input, and can't have them uninstalling/re-installing the production app constantly, having to re-import private keys, etc. So we use 1 app store connect app for production releases, and another for public facing long running beta, where we experiment with new features before pulling them into production. Allowing users to have both installed at the same time
Last week my CI (without any changes to scripts, project, profiles, etc), started failing for the production build with the error:
[altool.105176BE0] Validation failed (409) This bundle is invalid. The bundle identifier cannot be changed from the current value, '<bundle-id>.beta'. If you want to change your bundle identifier, you will need to create a new application in App Store Connect. (ID: ae60bab4-0c01-4b2e-9ea9-91a73adccc14)
Nowhere in any of the .app, .ipa, info.plist, provisioning profiles, etc, is it referencing ".beta", everything is referencing ""
I tried building it manually locally, same error. I took the local output that failed with xcrun altool, and instead dropped it into Transporter, and it uploaded successfully to the production app
Is it possible that xcrun altool is using an app store connect API that changed sometime in the last few weeks? Maybe the search/sort ordering logic has changed?
When running unit tests or UI tests that cause a crash (even intentionally), the simulator itself crashes and can't be booted again in subsequent runs.
This started happening from Xcode 26, our project never had this issue before (we had crashes before as well).
Steps to Reproduce:
Run the unit test with fatalError().
Observe the simulator crashes.
On the next test run, the simulator fails to boot, remaining in a crashed or stuck state.
Example error:
error = Error Domain=FBSOpenApplicationServiceErrorDomain Code=1 "Simulator device failed to launch com.xxx.xctrunner." UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Simulator device failed to launch com.xxx.xctrunner., NSUnderlyingError=0x600009895830 {Error Domain=FBSOpenApplicationServiceErrorDomain Code=1 "The request to open "com.xxx.xctrunner" failed." Hi team,
I’m developing an iOS app that helps manage and translate multilingual content .
The app uses SwiftUI with Localizable.strings and Bundle.localizedString(forKey:). I’m trying to optimize for dynamic language switching inside the app without restarting.
I’ve tested various methods like:
Text(NSLocalizedString("welcome_text", comment: ""))
and some approaches using @Environment(.locale), but the system doesn’t always update views instantly when language changes.
Question:
What’s the recommended approach (or WWDC reference) for real-time language change handling in SwiftUI apps targeting iOS 18+?
For the last week, every Update to Latest Package Version ends with the error fatal: unable to access 'https://github.com/firebase/firebase-ios-sdk/': Failed to connect to github.com port 443 after 31891 ms: Couldn't connect to server. This could be firebase-ios-sdk or another package. The timeout in the example given is 31,891 ms, but it could be more than 75,000 ms. However, other packages from GitHub are updated without errors. The next attempt may return the same error with the same repository, or with a different one, while the repository from the previous attempt is updated normally.
This only happens in Xcode; pure Git performs clones (with and without mirrors), fetching, pulling, and any other actions permitted without any error.
What happened, and how can I restore normal package management?

SceneDelegate's sceneWillEnterForeground and sceneDidEnterBackground methods are not called when app is moved to the background and back. It happens when Stage Manager is enabled and application is moved to the background using App Switcher (double tap on the home button).
Otherwise methods are called.
Started to reproduce since iOS26. Is not reproducible on iOS18.
I have been using the Mixpanel-Swift SDK alongside the Salesforce Mobile SDK in my iOS project with Xcode 16.4 without any issues. However, after upgrading to Xcode 26, I started encountering a problem related to SQLite3.
Here is the relevant portion of my Podfile setup:

Has anyone else encountered a similar issue or discovered a workaround? Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!
I'm facing a build failure after migrating my project to Xcode 26. The issue appears to be related to the redefinition of some core system types. The compiler errors point to a failure to locate the original type definitions, suggesting they've been moved or renamed.
Specifically, the build log contains these errors:
../arm64-apple-ios.private.swiftinterface:653:11: Cannot find type '_sys_select' in scope
../arm64-apple-ios.private.swiftinterface:130:33: Cannot find type 'netinet_in' in scope
I've observed that the types are being mapped as follows:
netinet_in.in_addr_t -> _DarwinFoundation2.in_addr_t
_sys_select.fd_set -> _DarwinFoundation2.fd_set
I'm looking for guidance on the recommended way to resolve these API changes. How should I handle these type redefinitions in Xcode 26 to ensure my project builds correctly?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Hi team, I'm looking for the RealityKit debugger in Xcode 26 beta 3. I'm running a RealityKit app on my iPad running iPadOS 26 b3, but the debugger option is not there in Xcode.
Our project using UISplitViewController as the root view controller for whole app. And when using the xocde26 to build app in iOS26, the layout of page is uncorrect.
for iPhone, when launch app and in portrait mode, the app only show a blank page:
and when rotate app to landscape, the first view controller of UISplitViewController's viewControllers will float on second view controller:
and this float behavior also happens in iPad:
below is the demo code:
AppDelegate.swift:
import UIKit
@main
class AppDelegate: UIResponder, UIApplicationDelegate {
let window: UIWindow = UIWindow()
func application(_ application: UIApplication, didFinishLaunchingWithOptions launchOptions: [UIApplication.LaunchOptionsKey: Any]?) -> Bool {
let vc = SplitViewController(primary: TabBarViewController(), secondary: ViewController())
window.rootViewController = vc
window.makeKeyAndVisible()
return true
}
}
SplitViewController:
import UIKit
class SplitViewController: UISplitViewController {
init(primary: UIViewController, secondary: UIViewController) {
super.init(nibName: nil, bundle: nil)
preferredDisplayMode = .oneBesideSecondary
presentsWithGesture = false
delegate = self
viewControllers = [primary, secondary]
}
required init?(coder: NSCoder) {
fatalError("init(coder:) has not been implemented")
}
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
}
}
extension SplitViewController: UISplitViewControllerDelegate {
}
TabBarViewController.swift:
import UIKit
class FirstViewController: UIViewController {
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
view.backgroundColor = .red
tabBarItem = UITabBarItem(title: "Home", image: UIImage(systemName: "house"), tag: 0)
}
}
class SecondViewController: UIViewController {
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
view.backgroundColor = .purple
tabBarItem = UITabBarItem(title: "Setting", image: UIImage(systemName: "gear"), tag: 1)
}
}
class TabBarViewController: UITabBarController {
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
let firstVC = FirstViewController()
let secondVC = SecondViewController()
tabBar.backgroundColor = .orange
viewControllers = [firstVC, secondVC]
}
}
ViewController.swift:
import UIKit
class ViewController: UIViewController {
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
view.backgroundColor = .systemPink
}
}
And I have post a feedback in Feedback Assistant(id: FB18004520), the demo project code can be found there.
In my app target Foo, I have a dependency on package Bar.
Bar itself have a dependency on another package Other.
In my test target FooTests, I have a dependency on package BarTestsHelpers.
BarTestsHelpers depends on Bar.
When compiling test target FooTests, I get the following unexpected warning in Xcode 26 only:
'Bar' is missing a dependency on 'Other' because dependency scan of Swift module 'Bar' discovered a dependency on 'Other'
I can see this is being discussed here as well without a solution.
I filled a feedback with a sample project here: FB20602885
It seems that we can remove the warning by explicitly adding the dependency Other on BarTestHelpers. But this shouldn't be needed as BarTestHelpers doesn't use nor know about Other, it only needs it as part of its dependency on Bar.
Ever since Xcode Version 26.0.1 I cannot for the life of me make my buttons rectangular. They are all capsule (or oval) shaped. My interface was designed for square buttons but no matter what I do the issue stays the same. This is what I have (it's fairly barebones but would have worked before I believe):
@IBOutlet weak var PagesInterface: UIButton!
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
PagesInterface.layer.cornerRadius = 0
PagesInterface.layer.masksToBounds = true
}
I am using Button in my app, is push button and style is Momentary push in and bordered, added image icon on it also
bottom shows with image with white background , like below
But in Tahoe OS, it shows without white background(almost like border less)
Do I need to change button style?

What I’ve verified
flutter clean + flutter pub get
pod install --repo-update
Deleted DerivedData
Verified Generated.xcconfig exists
Verified FLUTTER_ROOT path is correct
Tried both in Podfile use_frameworks! :linkage => :static and modular headers
Tried flutter build ios --no-codesign
Still, the same errors appear.
Observations
I couldn't find a solution with ChatGPT or searching in the Internet like on Stackoverflow
Since Flutter 3.35, Flutter.framework is no longer under .../engine/ios/Flutter.framework, but instead part of .../engine/ios/Flutter.xcframework/ios-arm64/Flutter.framework
After pod install, there is no Pods/Flutter/Flutter.xcframework folder at all.
Running flutter build ios does not generate the framework either — Flutter seems to depend on dynamic build-time injection, but the plugins expect static headers at build time.
On my Windows machine, the exact same project and plugin versions build perfectly (obviously without actual iOS compilation).

When building with Xcode 26, Voice Over is reporting an extra tab when swiping through tabs. Please see the sample project below:
/*
This is a Sample project to show that I believe there is a Voice Over bug in iOS 26.
When swiping through tabs with Voice Over active, there always appears to be an extra tab.
Here I have 5 tabs, when on tab one VO reads out tab 1 of 6, then tab 2 of 6, all the way to the last tab, when voice over reads out tab 5 of 6. Never tab 6 of 6.
Is there a possibility that voice over is picking up the underlying `more` tab and reading that out?
This has also been reportedly found in the Files app here:

Can anyone explain why I would be getting this warning ?

Hello,
we are struggling for hours with the following issue: I have an individual developer account and since yesterday I'm member of developer team with an own organization account.
I have access to an app in the team account as an "App-Manager", also the option "Access to Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles" is activated and I can see that it is activated for my account in AppstoreConnect.
In "Apple Developer" I can also see the team and can switch to. But then I do not see the "Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles" menu entry. Also the team is not showing up in XCode.
What am I missing?
Thanks and regards
Philipp

If I put the phone flat on a table, the left and right swipe gestures is not working but up and down gestures works.
Only when I put the iPhone to some vertical degree, the left and right swipe works.
Tested on 2 iPhone 7 Plus and 2 iPhone 13.
Anyone has similar experience? If yes, why?
