URLCache behavior for request with different header values
Greetings, I would like to understand this URLCache behavior for two different requests to the same end point but with a different header value. Here is a code with comment explaining the behavior. // Create a request to for a url. let url = URL(string: "https://<my url>?f=json")! var request = URLRequest(url: url) // Set custom header with a value. request.setValue("myvalue", forHTTPHeaderField: "CustomField") // Send request to get the response. let (data, response) = try await URLSession.shared.data(for: request) print("data: \(String(describing: String(data: data, encoding: .utf8)))") print("response: \(response)") // Create second request to the same url but with different value of custom header field. var request2 = URLRequest(url: url) request2.setValue("newvalue", forHTTPHeaderField: "CustomField") // Check the URL cache for second request and it returns the response // of the first request even though the second request has different header value. let cachedResponse = URLCache.shared.cachedResponse(for: request2) print("cachedResponse: \(cachedResponse?.response)") Is this a bug in URLCache that request headers are not matched while returning the response? Is this an expected behavior? If yes, why?

Cannot redeem invitation
I can't accept a TestFlight invitation. I seemed to have gotten myself into some situation that I have been unable to resolve. Here's what I did: Added my work Apple Account to TestFlight. Received an email for TestFlight invitation. Opened link in browser to view invitation code. Entered that code on a device that was signed into a different Apple Account (my personal account on my personal iPhone). The app did install on my personal iPhone, but now I can't accept the invite on my test device, which is signed into the Apple Account that is actually part of the TestFlight group in App Store Connect. I have tried deleting/re-adding/re-inviting my work Apple Account to TestFlight several times. On my personal iPhone, I have tapped on "Stop Testing" in the TestFlight app and deleted the app I installed there. But I still cannot accept the invite on the test device signed into my work account. When I enter the invite code to redeem, it says: This invitation cannot be accepted because your Apple Account, , has already been asso... The full message is actually truncated, so do not know what it says after "asso...". Is there any way to get out of this situation and accept the invite on the test device using my work Apple Account?

Trying to make the URL filter sample work
Hello, I've been experimenting with the new NEURLFilter API and so far the results are kind of strange. SimpleURLFilter sample contains a bloom filter that seems to be built from this dataset in pir-service-example. I was able to run SimpleURLFilter sample and configure it to use PIRService from the example repo. I also observed the requests that iOS has been sending: requesting config and then sending /queries request. What I haven't seen is any .deny verdict for any URL. Even when calling NEURLFilter.verdict(for: url) directly I cannot see a .deny verdict. Is there anything wrong with the sample or is there a known issue with NEURLFilter in the current beta (beta 8) that prevents it from working?

tvOS 18.0 Siri back button behavior bug
On testing my app with tvOS 18, I have noticed the Siri Remote back button no longer provides system-provided behavior when interacting with tab bar controller pages. Instead of moving focus back to the tab bar when pressed, the back button will close the app, as if the Home button was pressed. This occurs both on device and in the Simulator. Create tvOS project with a tab bar controller. Create pages/tabs which contain focusable items (ie. buttons) Scroll down to any focusable item (ie. a button or UICollectionView cell) Hit the Siri Remote back button. See expect behavior below: Expected behavior: System-provided behavior should move focus back to the tab bar at the top of the screen. Actual results: App is closed and user is taken back to the Home Screen. Has anyone else noticed this behavior?

Unable to install “My App” after installing iOS 26, macOS 26, Xcode 26.
Error: Unable to install “My App” Failed to install embedded profile for com.apple.myapp : 0xe800801a (This provisioning profile does not have a valid signature (or it has a valid, but untrusted signature).) I've tried almost everything, but I keep getting the same message on a Mac Mini M1 and several physical iPhones (11 and 16, both Pro). On a MacBook Air (Sequoia 15.7) with the same account, the same profiles work without any problems; and on simulators with iOS 26, it also works without any problems. This clearly tells us that the provisioning profile is not the problem, which is what the message mentions. It obviously has to do with the 26 update. P.S All of this worked fine before installing iOS, macOS, and Xcode 26.

PKPassLibrary.requestAutomaticPassPresentationSuppression Behavior
We are implementing a feature that uses PKPassLibrary.requestAutomaticPassPresentationSuppression to prevent the Wallet from appearing when unlocking a lock. We have already completed the approval process for the entitlement to enable Pass Presentation Suppression. In most cases, our code snippet works as expected, and the result is .success. However, we are also encountering other results, such as .denied, .alreadyPresenting, and .cancelled or .notSupported, which cause the Wallet to appear for users. Here's the code snippet we're using: PKPassLibrary.requestAutomaticPassPresentationSuppression { result in logger.log( .info, "PKPassLibrary suppression result: \(result.description)", LogContext.homeFeature ) } I would appreciate clarification on the following points: What's the meaning of each result type (.denied, .alreadyPresenting, .cancelled, .notSupported) beyond what is mentioned in the documentation? The documentation here does not provide additional details. What is the recommended handling for these specific result states? Should we be taking different actions or retries based on each case? Thank you very much for your help. Best, Ramiro.

Incompatibility with Android devices and Wifi Aware standard
There is no available API that allows you to connect to Android. The current APIs that are provided are not compatible outside of the Apple Ecosystem. For example, Android requires you to set a service name and a password where iOS sets a service and a PIN authentication strategy in a specific format that’s not compatible. It looks like the implementation is not following the Wifi Aware Specifications. To enable cross platform interoperability while providing security, could you adopt the same strategy as with Bluetooth and enable iOS users to enable the sharing and subscription of services with Everyone.

keyboard crash
My app encountered a crash problem. The analysis stack seems to be related to the keyboard. The system keyboard code is unresponsive for a long time until it crash. The feature of the stack, BrowserEngineKit, seems to indicate the webview scene. Xcode debugging found that tap the input box on the webview page can reproduce the same stack as the crash, but the crash cannot be reproduced. I noticed a feedback link https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/784718, which is the same as the top of the crash stack I encountered, so the root cause of the problem may be similar, caused by the locking operation related to UIKeyboardTaskQueue. Hope to give some suggestions. Migrate Widgets from StaticConfiguration to IntentConfiguration
New features in WatchOS 26 with configurable widgets make it more important than ever that apps adopt IntentConfiguration options where applicable. I develop an app with an Apple Watch complication/widget on many many user's Watch faces around the world. I've completed updating my code to support WidgetKit and remove ClockKit. However, I face huge issues adding support for users to configure their widget/complications. If I update a widget to go from StaticConfiguration to IntentConfiguration, even when keeping the "kind" string the same, the widget disappears from the Watch face. This is an unacceptable user experience meaning I can't proceed with the migration. The problem is users will expect me to offer configuration in the Watch face soon for their widget/complication. Currently this process is done in a sub-optimal way in the app itself. A similar issue exists on iOS where the widget will just "freeze" indefinitely is migrated. This issue still occurs on the iOS 26 and WatchOS 26 betas. So how to move this forward. This has been discussed previously here: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/661247 I've mentioned it at WidgetKit labs I've filed feedback last year: FB13880020 I've filed feedback this year: FB18180368 It seems really important this gets fixed for developers to adopt these new features, is there any other migration route I'm missing or a workaround that would mitigate this seemingly big problem.

Compatibility of Liquid Glass Effect on Older Apple TV Models
Hello everyone, Following the WWDC 2025 announcement of tvOS 26 and the introduction of the new Liquid Glass effect, Apple published a press release mentioning that Liquid Glass is "available on Apple TV 4K (2nd generation and later)". This seems to exclude both the Apple TV HD and the 1st generation Apple TV 4K, even though both devices remain compatible with tvOS 26. Source: Apple Newsroom ( https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2025/06/apple-tv-brings-a-beautiful-redesign-and-enhanced-home-entertainment-experience ) I’m wondering: Will using UIGlassEffect or glassEffect(_:in:) on these older devices cause a crash? If not, will the effect fall back to a simple blur, or render as fully transparent? Is there an API or recommended way to detect whether the Liquid Glass effect is supported on the current device? Thanks in advance for your insights!

RC sending non-specific file format to simulator no longer opens Files app to import
Up until yesterday (previous Xcode builds) when I send a file from the Mac to the simulator, either by right-click or drag and dropping, the simulator opened the Files app to import/save the file. Now when I do the same, instead of the iOS simulator opening the Files app, it opens Safari and asks if I want to download the file, if I agree the file is supposedly download but nowhere to be found. By a non-specific file format is a file format that is not set up to open any specific app, such is the case of PDF, JPG, MP4, MD, etc. A zip file, for example. I constantly send database backup files to the simulator to then import in my app (it has an import tool that lets me select a file from the filesystem) to test, but now I see myself unable to use this because the file I send is not being transferred. Has anyone came across this?

Trying to upload an iOS26 app archive with Xcode 26 beta 7 and getting ITMS-90717: Invalid large app icon, meaning my app is not eligible for TestFlight testing. My App contains an IconComposer .icon asset, so I'm not sure what it's complaining about. I'm not seeing anything in the release notes about this, and I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or not.

UIGlassEffect crashes
Hello there! I’m using UIGlassEffect in my iOS 26 app, which was just approved, but I’m seeing unexpected crashes: +[UIGlassEffect effectWithStyle:]: unrecognized selector sent to class. Could this be happening only for users running earlier betas? Was UIGlassEffect not available in Beta 1–3? I started preparing my update with Beta 4. Thank you!

iOS 26 Beta 7 double-tap to select text while in Dark Mode makes it very difficult to see what you're selecting. This has been an issue since Beta 1 and seems like intended behavior.
This has been an issue since installing the first beta and I haven't seen anyone else say anything about it so I feel like I'm going kind of bonkers. While using Dark Mode, double-tapping to select a word while using the Liquid Glass keyboard, like in Messages or Safari, produces a flashlight-like effect over the text with each tap. While this is a fine animation and pretty helpful when moving the cursor, the brightness of the flashlight effect on white text in Dark Mode makes it impossible to see what you're actually tapping to select. The brightness seems to intensify 100x when rapidly tapping. This is not an issue in Light Mode when the text itself is black. To recreate this, just turn your phone to Dark Mode, go into Messages and type a few words into a thread. Try to double-tap to select a word in the text box. The brightness of the selected word should intensify to the point of being unable to see the word itself. Has anyone been bothered by this? Is there a way to fix or adjust it? I've tried reducing transparency and a bunch of other settings but nothing has worked.

SwiftUI Nav Bar Changes in Height When Loading While Presented in a Sheet
If you create a SwiftUI App where a ‘.sheet’ is presented and use a NavigationStack within that Sheet, when you use NavigationLink to present a view, the title of the Nav Bar will start at a height of 46px and pop to the Default Height of 54px when it loads causing a visual pop in the UI. In iOS 18 it functions correctly, in iOS 26 the visual pop is present. This impacts both inline and large styles, if you disable the back button it is still present, the only way I have discovered to get rid of it is by using 'fullScreenCover' instead of '.sheet'. This feels like buggy UI. This issue has been present since iOS 26 Beta 5, I was hoping it would be fixed but is still present in the GM. Feedback has been filed via Feedback Assistant: FB20228369 This is the code to re-produce the issue: import SwiftUI struct ContentView: View { @State private var showSheet: Bool = false var body: some View { VStack { Button { showSheet.toggle() } label: { Text("Show Sheet") } } .padding() .sheet(isPresented: $showSheet) { NavigationStack { List { NavigationLink { Rectangle() .foregroundStyle(.red) .navigationTitle("Red") } label: { Text("Show Red") } } } .presentationSizing(.page) } } } #Preview { ContentView() }

AlarmKit Volume and Volume Buttons
Excited for AlarmKit! I have found two concerns that I cannot find answers for though. The volume of my alarms seems to be very quite relative to the full volume capability of the device. For example, if I turn the volume all the way up and play the audio file, the sound is very loud. However then, if I set the alarm using alarm kit with the same audio, the track played during the alerting phase is not that loud. I am afraid that it will not be loud enough in real life. Will there be future support to set the volume level of the alarm to maximum settings? When I press the volume buttons (with the app open) during an active alarm, the audio stops, but the alarm manager does not clear these events. The alarm manager does clear the alarm event if the alarm is stopped through a live activity.

Xcode 26: Sendable checking + NSManagedObjectContext.perform in Swift 6
I have some code which handles doing some computation on a background thread before updating Core Data NSManagedObjects by using the NSManagedObjectContext.perform functions. This code is covered in Sendable warnings in Xcode 26 (beta 6) because my NSManagedObject subclasses (autogenerated) are non-Sendable and NSManagedObjectContext.perform function takes a Sendable closure. But I can't really figure out what I should be doing. I realize this pattern is non-ideal for Swift concurrency, but it's what Core Data demands AFAIK. How do I deal with this? let moc = object.managedObjectContext! try await moc.perform { object.completed = true // Capture of 'object' with non-Sendable type 'MySpecialObject' in a '@Sendable' closure try moc.save() } Thanks in advance for your help!
