Network Framework: LAN vs Wifi vs Peer to Peer Wifi Switching
I would like to understand the behaviour of Network framework when I have established a connection between 2 iOS devices which are connected through LAN and the same Wifi. Assumptions: Enabled includePeerToPeer. Devices are discovered and connected through Bonjour: When the connection establishes for the first time, does it automatically decide which interface to pick? I see some posts which point to Happy Eyeball algorithm but that seem to point more towards ipv4 vs ipv6 rather than Wifi vs LAN vs P2P. In the middle of a connection, if the established connection has issues, does the Network framework automatically switch to the best available interface? If not, I would assume the app will have to handle the switching in betterPathUpdateHandler callback? I’m curious what needs to be done here. Do I just create a new connection and hope that it picks the actual better path? The NWInterface.InterfaceType doesnt have a type for peer to peer wifi. Does that mean that when the interface actually switches to peer to peer, the InterfaceType will be other? It would be great if there is a workflow or example of how this needs to be handled with multiple available Interfaces.

Xcode cloud workflow app association
Hi We have a project with one app, where we have multiple schemes to create either a staging or release version of the app. We change the bundle identifier of the app so it's a separate app in app store connect. One staging app and one release app. We are trying to integrate Xcode cloud workflows, however, there's only one app visible in the Xcode cloud tab and when we create a workflow it gets automatically assigned to the staging app in app store connect. We cannot create the workflow under the release app in app store connect, as the manage workflows button is not visible until you've created the first workflow for an app in xcode. How can we create a workflow and force it to be associated with the release app in app store connect?

My Apple developer certificates expire soon. Is it necessary to create new certificates?
My Apple developer certificates(4 certificates) expire soon. I'm developing an application for iOS but the application is not yet released in the App Store, only Testflight releases for private testing. Is it necessary to create 4 new certificates or can I edit the current certificates so that they don't expire soon?

Share Extension / Sandbox Issue: sandboxd deny(1) hid-control
I'm developing a Share Extension for a macOS Electron application that allows users to share files from Finder to our application using the system Share menu. The extension compiles, signs, and notarizes successfully, but crashes during initialization due to sandbox restrictions blocking hid-control operations required by NSApplication. The Share Extension crashes during initialization with the following sandbox violation: Process: ShareExtension [pid] Identifier: com.xxxxxxxxxxxx.xxxxxxxxx.extension Operation: hid-control I would appreciate guidance on: The proper entitlements for third-party Share Extensions with App Sandbox Alternative approaches if Share Extensions have fundamental limitations for third-party developers Any documentation or sample code demonstrating Share Extensions outside the App Store

Testing Family Controls & Multicast Networking APIs - Educational Use Without Paid Developer Account?
Hi Apple Engineers and fellow developers, I'm a student developer working on an educational focus management app that helps users hide distracting apps during study sessions. The app consists of: macOS app: Simple "Hide apps" button that triggers app hidding sessions iOS app: Uses Screen Time API to temporarily hide selected apps from home screen Communication: Bonjour networking between Mac and iPhone for session coordination The Challenge My app requires two entitlements that aren't available with Personal Developer Teams: com.apple.developer.family-controls (for Screen Time API) com.apple.developer.networking.multicast (for Bonjour device discovery) Current Error Messages text Cannot create a iOS App Development provisioning profile for "focuser.focuser-app". Personal development teams, including "My Name", do not support the Family Controls (Development) capability. Provisioning profile doesn't include the com.apple.developer.family-controls and com.apple.developer.networking.multicast entitlements. My Question for Apple Engineers Is there any legitimate way to test these privacy-sensitive APIs on my own devices for educational/learning purposes without purchasing the $99/year Apple Developer Program membership? I understand the security reasons behind these restrictions, but as a student just learning iOS development, it creates a significant barrier to experimenting with these technologies.

Unable To Perform Stapler Process
I am facing an issue while trying to staple a notarization ticket to my signed macOS installer package. Details of my setup: The .pkg file is signed using my Developer ID Installer certificate. The app inside the package is signed using my Developer ID Application certificate. Notarization via xcrun notarytool completes successfully with status: Accepted. However, the stapler command fails with the following error: xcrun stapler staple -v /Users/mac-test/Desktop/IPMPlus_Arm_Installer_signed.pkg Processing: /Users/mac-test/Desktop/IPMPlus_Arm_Installer_signed.pkg Could not validate ticket for /Users/mac-test/Desktop/IPMPlus_Arm_Installer_signed.pkg The staple and validate action failed! Error 65. I verified that all other Apple notarization-related servers (api.apple-cloudkit.com, gs.apple.com, ocsp.apple.com, ocsp2.apple.com, crl.apple.com, developer.apple.com) are reachable. However, the domain cdn-apple-cloudkit.apple.com cannot be resolved from any network, including mobile or public Wi-Fi. Both dig and nslookup return “No answer” even when using external DNS servers like 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1. It appears that cdn-apple-cloudkit.apple.com might be required during the stapler validation process, but the DNS for this domain is not resolving. Could you please confirm whether this CDN endpoint is required for stapling, and if there is currently an outage or configuration issue with cdn-apple-cloudkit.apple.com?

AlarmKit alarm does not fire when device is active
I implemented AlarmKit framework to my app. It works fine when the device's screen is off. but it doesn't fire when the screen is on. No sound, No dynamic Island widget. what's wrong... is this just me? I tried other apps on appstore and they worked fine. maybe is it cause they were built with SwiftUI? I'm a flutter developer. just cause my app is non native could this happen... I'm so frustrated.

Siri mispronouncing app name
The name of our app is a portmanteau, and Siri is getting it slightly wrong. It’s putting the emphasis on the second and fourth syllables instead of the first and third. Kind of like if someone starting singing /tinˈeɪʒd muˌtent/. It’s just wrong enough to be funny. It still recognizes the correct name when someone says “hey Siri”. We’ve already tried adding CFBundleSpokenName and INAlternativeAppNamePronunciationHint to info.plist, but neither is changing how Siri says it. We can’t put it in AppIntentVocabulary.plist because we don’t know the key path for the app name.

Accessing Previous iOS Beta Versions for Testing
Hello everyone, I recently contacted Apple Developer Support regarding access to an older iOS beta build (specifically iOS 26.0 Developer Beta 1, build 23A5260u for iPhone 15 Pro). Developer Support confirmed that they can’t provide access to previous betas and advised me to bring the question here. My question: Is there any official or supported method for developers to reinstall or access older, unsigned beta builds for the purpose of testing compatibility or debugging legacy features? I’m aware that Apple stops signing older versions once newer builds are released, but I’m wondering whether programs like AppleSeed, enterprise testing frameworks, or specific partner channels provide legitimate access to prior betas for regression or compatibility testing. Any insights or referrals to Apple contacts, teams, or individuals who may be able to advise on this topic would be greatly appreciated. Best regards, Xavo Nizer

Incorrect keyboard frame on iOS 26 when using Secure Text with Autofill
Area: Software Update Type of Feedback: Application Bug Description Device: iPhone 13 Pro running iOS 26 Build environment: Xcode 16.4 Problem description: When a text field has secureTextEntry = YES and Password Autofill / Passkeys is active, the autofill panel is not included in the rect reported from the keyboard notifications (UIKeyboardFrameEndUserInfoKey or others). As a result, when calculating the offset to move the screen up and reveal the hidden input field, the field is not displayed correctly because the reported keyboard height is smaller than the actual visible height. Observed behavior: This only occurs on devices running iOS 26 built with Xcode 16.4. On previous versions of iOS, with the same settings (secureTextEntry and Autofill active), the rect correctly includes the autofill panel height, and the UI works as expected. I tested with both UIKeyboardDidShowNotification and UIKeyboardWillChangeFrameNotification, and in both cases the behavior is the same: the height is incorrect (smaller than expected with the autofill panel). What I expect / questions: That UIKeyboardFrameEndUserInfoKey (or the related notification) correctly reports the total area covered by the keyboard, including any password autofill panel, when secureTextEntry is active. That the new behavior in iOS 26 be documented if this omission is intentional, or otherwise considered a bug if it is not. If there is any official workaround suggested by Apple for developers affected by this issue while a fix is provided. Thank you for your support.

Accessory Setup Kit (BLE) not showing multiple options nor the advertising name
I'm developing an application using the accessory setup kit (BLE) on iOS 18+. An important aspect of the connection process is being able to find and choose the correct device. I noticed on iOS 18.2 that I was able to both scroll through the discovered accessories as well as view the advertised name. However, after upgrading to 18.7.2, only a single device is viewable and the advertised name is no longer available. Is there a trigger for this feature that I need to enable or was this "multiple discovery" feature removed? If so, why?

Spotlight Importer Extension Not Triggered for Custom UTI on macOS
Hi all, I'm trying to add Spotlight support to a macOS app that handles custom virtual machine bundles with the .vpvm extension. I’ve followed the current documentation and used the modern CSImportExtension approach with a Spotlight Importer extension target. Here’s what I’ve done: App Info.plist: Declared com.makeprog.vpvm as a UTI conforming to com.apple.package. Registered it under UTExportedTypeDeclarations and CFBundleDocumentTypes. Spotlight Importer Extension: Added a new macOS target using the Spotlight Import Extension template. Set the NSExtensionPointIdentifier to com.apple.spotlight.import. Used CSSupportedContentTypes = com.makeprog.vpvm. Implemented a minimal update(_ attributes:forFileAt:) method that sets displayName, title, and contentDescription. Other steps: Verified that the .appex is embedded under Contents/PlugIns/. Confirmed it appears in mdimport -e output with correct UTI. Used mdimport -m -d2 -t /path/to/file.vpvm, but I still get: Imported '/path/to/file.vpvm' of type 'com.makeprog.vpvm' with no plugIn. The extension is never invoked. I’ve also tried: Ensuring the .vpvm file is a valid directory bundle. Restarting Spotlight / rebuilding index. Ensuring the app and extension are properly signed. Tried installing the app in test virtual machine Question: Has anyone successfully used CSImportExtension for custom UTIs? Is there something additional I need to do for the extension to be recognized and triggered? Any advice or examples would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Safe area issues on iOS 26 on website using WordPress plus elementor pro
I have a website I’m working on that uses WordPress and element mentor pro. Basically everything is custom HTML in individual containers and custom CSS for each page. The problem that I’m running into is there needs to be a pop-up and the easiest way to do that is just use the element or proper pop-ups however, the overlay is not extending into the safe areas on the bottom or top notch. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to fix this, and I cannot get it to work. I’ve tried having CSS in every imaginable way to get it to extend the overlay.. The other issue is for this website there is no header. It’s just a container that’s the hero content and for some reason that also will not extend into the top-notch safe area. It extends to the bottom notch just fine but not the top notch and there’s just a white bar there where I prefer it be the background gradient that I have set up for the hero however, nothing I do will get it to push into that top notch safe area either. Hoping someone else had this issue and can help me out

UIHostingController presented modally as sheet breaks navigation bar back button safe area insets when iOS device is rotated
I have a SwiftUI View containing a basic NavigationStack structure. I host this in a UIHostingController and display modally as a sheet in UIKit using UIViewController.present(). Problem: When I rotate my iOS device to landscape from portrait, the navigation bar's back button extends past the safe area into the left corner of the device. Then, rotating back to portrait the back button is pushed further towards the center - not matching the intended position. (see images below). Is there an API call I am missing to handle this rotation case? Thanks! Code Example SwiftUI view - ContentView.swift import SwiftUI struct ContentView: View { var body: some View { NavigationStack { Form { NavigationLink { Form { Text("Hello") } .navigationTitle("Filter") .navigationBarTitleDisplayMode(.inline) } label: { Text("Filter") } } .navigationTitle("Filter") .navigationBarTitleDisplayMode(.inline) } } } Main UIKit ViewController - ViewController.swift import UIKit import SwiftUI class ViewController: UIViewController { let swiftUIView = ContentView() var hostingController: UIHostingController<ContentView>? override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() hostingController = UIHostingController(rootView: swiftUIView) guard let hostingController else { return } hostingController.modalPresentationStyle = .formSheet // Immediately present modally DispatchQueue.main.async { self.present(hostingController, animated: true) } } } More Detail The issue only seems to appear for sheet modal presentation including these UIModalPresentationStyle: .formSheet .pageSheet .popover The issue does not appear in an app with SwiftUI app lifecycle or when using UIKit and adding the hosting controller as a child view controller. This specifically happens when presenting modally and when the view gets rendered as a sheet. I tried various combinations of UIHostingController.sizingOptions and UIHostingController.safeAreaRegions, but never found something that fixed the issue. To Build and Reproduce Make a new Xcode project > iOS > App > Storyboard UI Add file ContentView.swift with contents above. Replace contents of existing file ViewController.swift with contents above. Set minimum deployment target to iOS 18 Build and deploy to device running iOS 18. Hold device in portrait. Rotate device to landscape - observe back button extends past safe area. Rotate device to portrait - observe back button is shifted too far towards the center. Device & Builds Specs iOS 18.6.2 - minimum deployment of 18.0 Devices Observed: iPhone 12 Pro Max iPhone 16 Pro Max Xcode 26 Image Examples

BGContinuedProcessingTask UI
When I use BGContinuedProcessingTask to submit a task, my iPhone 12 immediately shows a notification banner displaying the task’s progress. However, on my iPhone 15 Pro Max, there’s no response — the progress UI only appears in the Dynamic Island after I background the app. Why is there a difference in behavior between these two devices? Is it possible to control the UI so that the progress indicator only appears when the app moves to the background?
