I try to update remoteHandle using CXCallUpdate for outgoing call, but this works only on iOS 15 but not on 17 or 18 (16 didn't test). This problem actual only for outgoing calls, but for incoming calls update works fine.
func startOutgoingCall(with callID: UUID, userID: String) {
let handle = CXHandle(type: .generic, value: userID)
let action = CXStartCallAction(call: callID, handle: handle)
callController.requestTransaction(with: action) { [weak self] error in
// ...
}
}
func updateOutgoingCall(with callID: UUID, groupID: String) {
let update = CXCallUpdate()
update.remoteHandle = CXHandle(type: .generic, value: groupID)
provider.reportCall(with: callID, updated: update)
}
I also tried phoneNumber type but it seems initial handle that I set to CXStartCallAction not possible to change (value or even type).
I use this handle value to implement recall by tap on call in Recents tab of system address book. But since my calls can transform from p2p to group call, I need to update handle value or find some another way to pass call identification info.

There seems to be a problem to a specific Apple Developer Account regarding Xcode Cloud Distribution (Signing).
The Xcode Cloud Error
Invalid Signature. Code failed to satisfy specified code requirement(s). The file at path “XcodeCloudTest.app/XcodeCloudTest” is not properly signed. Make sure you have signed your application with a distribution certificate, not an ad hoc certificate or a development certificate. Verify that the code signing settings in Xcode are correct at the target level (which override any values at the project level). Additionally, make sure the bundle you are uploading was built using a Release target in Xcode, not a Simulator target. If you are certain your code signing settings are correct, choose “Clean All” in Xcode, delete the “build” directory in the Finder, and rebuild your release target. For more information, please consult https://developer.apple.com/support/code-signing.
Investigation
Apple Developer Forums
This issue seems to be known:
https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/746210
Debugging by ourselves
We setup an example Xcode project from a default iOS Xcode app template to rule out any project issues. This example project failed with the same error as stated above. In the next step we tried the same example project with a different Apple Developer Account and it successfully distributed the example App through Xcode Cloud.
Conclusion
It seems like there is no setup issue on developer-side, because our example project works out-of-the-box on a different Apple Developer Account. Our only hope is that Apple will have a look on our Developer Account. Maybe there is some internal setting.

Apple provides a function to create TTS voice as a file in TTS.
(AVSpeechUtterance/AVSpeechSynthesizer)
Or, if the user records the video of TTS playback and uses that video
I wonder what the scope of use is if I use this TTS voice to make YouTube, TikTok, or commercial videos.
Is it impossible to use it commercially at all?
Can I use it commercially with the source indicated?
Can I use it commercially without a separate source indication?
Is there a difference in commercial use license between Siri voices and regular TTS voices?
I have an app that uses background audio recording. From what others say, I have enabled the audio background mode to keep the audio session active, and this worked. But when submitting the app to the app store, the app was rejected because the audio background mode is only supposed to be used for audio playback.
How do I create this background mode while following Apple's guidelines?
Hi, we were recently approved for the com.apple.developer.web-browser.public-key-credential entitlement and have added it to our app. It initially worked as expected for a couple of days, but then it stopped working. We're now seeing the same error as before adding the entitlement:
Told not to present authorization sheet: Error Domain=com.apple.AuthenticationServicesCore.AuthorizationError Code=1 "(null)"
ASAuthorizationController credential request failed with error: Error Domain=com.apple.AuthenticationServices.AuthorizationError Code=1004 "(null)"
Do you have any insights into what might be causing this issue?
Thank you!
Hi all,
I'm using Apple Sample Code below to create application using dockkit.
"Controlling a DockKit accessory using your camera app"
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/dockkit/controlling-a-dockkit-accessory-using-your-camera-app?changes=_8
I used vision hand recognition and put the observation data to dockAccessory.track, but Belkin or Insta360 devices never move on iPhone 16 Pro Max with iOS 18.3.
If I use other functions like face search (system tracking) in the app, those work ok.
I used Belkin and Insta360 Flow 2 Pro to reproduce the problem.
My friend is also saying that the custom tracking feature was working fine on the OS 18 beta, but on recent iOS 18.3 that feature does not work.
If I can get the iOS 18.0 beta then we can test that feature. But I cannot revert my iOS from 18.3 to the iOS 18.0 Beta.
Regards,
TO
I am experiencing an issue where XCode reverts .xccurrentversion file in my iOS app to the first version whenever xcodebuild is run or whenever XCode is started. This means I can build the app and run tests in XCode if I discard the reversion .xccurrentversion on XCode start. However, testing on CI is impossible because the version the tests rely on are reverted whenever xcodebuild is run.
The commands I run to reproduce the issue
❯ git status

I have experienced such issue in 16.3 (16E140) and 16.2 (16C5032a).
Similar issues/solutions I have found online are the following. But they are either not relevant or do not work in my case.
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/17631587/xcode-modifies-current-coredata-model-version-at-every-launch

Is anyone aware of any solution? Is there a recommended way I can run diagnostics on XCode and file a feedback?
Hello,
I am new application developer that has been developing several applications in the productivity and finance sections concurrently for about 1 year. One of my applications is nearly ready to be submitted to the App Store.
I have received a lot of discouragement from people who have submitted apps in regards to putting submitting as a paid app, however due to all of the upfront and ongoing investment I've made, I do not wish to release my application for free initially.
(I am learning how to best integrate storekit and in-app purchases and subscriptions, but I'm not ready to implement that yet)
QUESTION:
When releasing an app as a paid app and then converting to a FREE app with subscription later on, is there anything I need to be aware of technically or in regards to guidelines so I don't shoot myself in the foot when changing pricing?
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

My team has developed an app with a Matter commissioner feature (for own ecosystem) using the Matter framework on the MatterSupport extension.
Recently, we've noticed that commissioning Matter devices with the MatterSupport extension has become very unstable. Occasionally, the HomeUIService stops the flow after commissioning to the first fabric successfully, displaying the error: "Failed to perform Matter device setup: Error Domain=HMErrorDomain Code=2." (normally, it should send open commissioning window to the device and then add the device to the 2nd fabric). The issue is never seen before until recently few weeks and there is no code changes in the app. We are suspected that there is some data that fail to download from the icloud or apple account that cause this problem.
For evaluation, we tried removing the HomeSupport extension and run the Matter framework directly in developer mode, this issue disappears, and commissioning works without any problems.

Hi everyone,
I'm running into an issue with AVAudioRecorder when handling interruptions such as phone calls or alarms.
Problem:
When the app is recording audio and an interruption occurs:
I handle the interruption with audioRecorder?.pause() inside AVAudioSession.interruptionNotification (on .began).
On .ended, I check for .shouldResume and call audioRecorder?.record() again.
The recorder resumes successfully, but only the audio recorded after the interruption is saved. The audio recorded before the interruption is lost, even though I'm using the same file URL and not recreating the recorder.
Repro:
Start a recording with AVAudioRecorder
Simulate a system interruption (e.g., incoming call)
Resume recording after the interruption
Stop and inspect the output audio file
Expected: Full audio (before and after interruption) should be saved.
Actual: Only the audio after interruption is saved; the earlier part is missing
Notes:
According to the documentation, calling .record() after .pause() should resume recording into the same file.
I confirmed that the file URL does not change, and I do not recreate the recorder instance.
No error is thrown by the system during this process.
This behavior happens consistently when the app is interrupted and resumed.
Question:
Is this a known issue? Is there a recommended workaround for preserving the full recording when interruptions happen?
Thanks in advance!
Recently, I uploaded my app to the App Store, but it was rejected under Guideline 3.2.
So, I requested unlisted distribution, which was approved, and the link is now available under Pricing & Availability.
Now, I want to update the app.
Should I go through the normal app upload process?

I would like to provide a default filename when saving a document depending on the document data. I thought I could do so by overriding NSDocument.prepareSavePanel(_:) and setting NSSavePanel.nameFieldStringValue, but simply implementing that method seems to hide the file format popup button shown by default (see image). Calling super doesn't help.
Is it possible to set a default filename and keep the file format popup button? On macOS 15, I can toggle NSSavePanel.showsContentTypes, but how about macOS 14 and older?
Is it possible to use the Matter.xcframework without the MatterSupport extension for onboarding a Matter device to our own ecosystem(own OTBR and matter controller) for an official App Store release?
Currently, we can achieve this in developer mode by adding the Bluetooth Central Matter Client Developer mode profile (as outlined here https://github.com/project-chip/connectedhomeip/blob/master/docs/guides/darwin.md). For an official release, what entitlements or capabilities do we need to request approval from Apple to replace the Bluetooth Central Matter Client Developer mode profile?
Thank you for your assistance.
I am developing the electronic part of product, it includes a Find-My features. I saw some forum that testing Find-My feature needs a CSR and testing token. Can anyone teach me how to apply CSR and testing token step by step?
Thank you very much.

Hi,
I am modifying the sample camera app that is here: https://developer.apple.com/tutorials/sample-apps/capturingphotos-camerapreview ... In the processPreviewImages, I am using the Vision APIs to generate a segmentation mask for a person/object, then compositing that person onto a different background (with some other filtering). The filtering and compositing is done via CoreImage. At the end, I convert the CIImage to a CGImage then to a SwiftUI Image. When I run it on my iPhone, it works fine, and has not crashed. When I run it on the iPhone with the debugger, it crashes within a few seconds with:
EXC_BAD_ACCESS in libRPAC.dylib`std::__1::__hash_table<std::__1::__hash_value_type<long, qos_info_t>, std::__1::__unordered_map_hasher<long, std::__1::__hash_value_type<long, qos_info_t>, std::__1::hash, std::__1::equal_to, true>, std::__1::__unordered_map_equal<long, std::__1::__hash_value_type<long, qos_info_t>, std::__1::equal_to, std::__1::hash, true>, std::__1::allocator<std::__1::__hash_value_type<long, qos_info_t>>>::__emplace_unique_key_args<long, std::__1::piecewise_construct_t const&, std::__1::tuple<long const&>, std::__1::tuple<>>:
It had previously been working fine with the debugger, so I'm not sure what has changed. Is there a difference in how the Vision APIs are executed if the debugger is attached vs. not?
Hi
When attempting to upload a React Native app (version 0.77) we encountered the following error:
ITMS-90426: Invalid Swift Support - The SwiftSupport folder is missing. Rebuild your app using the current public (GM) version of Xcode and resubmit it.
If to check ipa folder we can see that content includes only 2 folders:
Payload
Symbols
Could you please tell us why it does not include Swift Support folder?
We tried to use XCode - 16.2 and 16.3
Thank you
Hi,
We've noticed that this issue occurs more frequently after upgrading to iOS 18.4.1 and can result in one-way audio.
Our app uses CallKit with WebRTC to establish VoIP connections.
However, on iOS 18.4.1, CallKit no longer triggers:
func provider(_ provider: CXProvider, didActivate audioSession: AVAudioSession)
We're currently comparing the occurrence rate across different iOS versions to better understand the impact.
Could you please help analyze the root cause of this issue?
Hi, I have a couple questions about background app refresh. First, is the function RefreshAppContentsOperation() where to implement code that needs to be run in the background? Second, despite importing BackgroundTasks, I am getting the error "cannot find operationQueue in scope". What can I do to resolve that? Thank you.
func scheduleAppRefresh() {
let request = BGAppRefreshTaskRequest(identifier: "peaceofmindmentalhealth.RoutineRefresh")
// Fetch no earlier than 15 minutes from now.
request.earliestBeginDate = Date(timeIntervalSinceNow: 15 * 60)
do {
try BGTaskScheduler.shared.submit(request)
} catch {
print("Could not schedule app refresh: \(error)")
}
}
func handleAppRefresh(task: BGAppRefreshTask) {
// Schedule a new refresh task.
scheduleAppRefresh()
// Create an operation that performs the main part of the background task.
let operation = RefreshAppContentsOperation()
// Provide the background task with an expiration handler that cancels the operation.
task.expirationHandler = {
operation.cancel()
}
// Inform the system that the background task is complete
// when the operation completes.
operation.completionBlock = {
task.setTaskCompleted(success: !operation.isCancelled)
}
// Start the operation.
operationQueue.addOperation(operation)
}
func RefreshAppContentsOperation() -> Operation {

I am working with a Texas Instruments RF430 NFC tag, which is compliant with:
ISO/IEC 14443-4 (ISO-DEP)
NFC Forum Type 4 Tag
NFC-B protocol
NDEF-formatted storage
I’m using an iPhone 12 running iOS 18, and my app uses the Core NFC framework.
Using NFCNDEFReaderSessionDelegate, I am able to successfully read the first NDEF message from the tag. However, the tag stores multiple NDEF messages, and I would like to access the others. Based on the tag’s specification, these messages are accessible via an NDEF file located at file ID 0xE104.
To try and access this additional NDEF file, I attempted to use NFCTagReaderSession with the NFCTagReaderSessionDelegate, intending to issue APDU commands. However, the tagReaderSession(_:didDetect:) delegate method is never called, even though the tag is present and detected using NFCNDEFReaderSession.
My questions:
Does Core NFC on iOS 18 support issuing custom APDU commands to ISO 14443-4 (NFC-B) tags like the TI RF430?
Is the use of NFCTagReaderSession with NFC-B fully supported for tags that implement ISO-DEP (even if they are NDEF-formatted)?
Is there any known limitation or configuration required to ensure tagReaderSession(_:didDetect:) is triggered for NFC-B/ISO-DEP tags?
