An organization has expressed interest in deploying our app across their devices using Apple Business Manager (ABM) and Intune (MDM) as a VPP-managed app. They would like to purchase and distribute the subscription-based Pro features through Apple Business Manager, but as far as I understand, in-app purchases are not currently supported in VPP deployments. We initially considered MicroMDM, but since official support will end in December 2025, we are evaluating NanoMDM. Hi Apple team and community, We’re currently integrating with the Apps and Books for Organizations API as part of our device management solution and would like to highlight a few critical points we've encountered — including a reliability issue, an enhancement suggestion, and a request for clarification on API rate limits. 1. Issue: Intermittent 403 Errors with stoken-authenticated-apps Endpoint We are encountering intermittent 403 Forbidden responses from the stoken-authenticated-apps endpoint. Approximately 30–35% of the requests fail with a 403 status code. These failures are inconsistent — the same request (using the same Content Token and Storefront) may succeed upon retry. All requests are properly authenticated and include the required Cookie and other headers as specified in the API documentation. This issue is impacting our ability to reliably fetch app metadata at scale, particularly in workflows. We’d like to know: Is this a known issue? Could it be due to a rate limit or token misconfiguration? Are any changes required on our end to avoid these failures? 2. Enhancement Request: Include externalVersionId in versionHistory Response The versionHistory extension currently returns: versionString releaseNotes releaseDate However, for Declarative Device Management (DDM) workflows such as App Pinning, we need the externalVersionId as well. Without it, we can't reliably correlate version metadata with the specific version ID required for pinning. Adding externalVersionId would: Enable precise version targeting during App Pinning Improve reliability and automation in managed deployments We request that Apple consider including externalVersionId in the versionHistory response to better support DDM-based app lifecycle management. 3. Rate Limit Clarification We found the following note in the Apps and Books for Organizations API documentation: "The Apps and Books for Organizations API limits the number of requests your app can make using a developer token within a specific period of time. If you exceed this limit, you’ll temporarily receive 429 Too Many Requests error responses for requests that use the token. This error resolves itself shortly after the request rate has reduced." While this confirms that a rate limit is enforced, there is no detailed information about the thresholds — such as the number of allowed requests per minute, hour, or day per developer token. To help us implement proper throttling and retry strategies, we request clarification on the following: What is the exact rate limit threshold per developer token? Are there per-endpoint limits, or is it a global cap for all requests using the token? Does the API return a Retry-After header when the limit is exceeded? What is the recommended backoff strategy for clients to follow when receiving 429 errors? This information would help us implement efficient throttling and error handling logic. I’ve been trying to pay for Apple Developer Program enrollment since decemeber 2024 so now in June 2025 - 6 months of no solutions We have tried all everything, emailed every possible support on developer website, tried mutliple cards and accounts, withdraw enrolment, re-enroll nothing. We even spoke to local Apple Head Office to try and get help to no avail. Hello Apple dev world and teams , I am experiencing anormal Waiting for Review for our app, now for more than a week and decided to post the issue here and hopefully get help. We had successfully upgraded to organization membership and the process with Apple support was really enchanting really responsive, hoping to have the same experience with this issue for review also.

I am the sole administrator of a paid company Apple Developer account, and as of today I’m completely locked out everywhere: I cannot sign in to App Store Connect, developer.apple.com, or even account.apple.com. Every login attempt returns either “Please verify your account information and try again” or “This account is locked and can’t be used.” I have never changed my password, Two-Factor Authentication is enabled and delivering codes, there are no pending agreements or banking/tax forms, and I see no unrecognized devices in my account. I’ve tried multiple networks, browsers, and devices, and I’ve already contacted Apple Support—yet no explanation or resolution has been provided. This total lockout is preventing our app submissions from moving forward and putting our entire release schedule at risk. Hello, We're testing the new allowedExternalIntelligenceWorkspaceIDs key in the MDM Restrictions payload on supervised iPads. According to Apple's documentation, this key expects an "external integration workspace ID", but it's not clear what this specifically refers to. We've tried the following IDs individually (one at a time, as documentation says only one is supported currently): OpenAI Organization ID ChatGPT user email Apple ID used in ChatGPT Google ID used in ChatGPT login The profile installs correctly via MDM and the key is set, but we want to confirm: What exactly is considered a valid "external integration workspace ID" for this key? Is there a way to verify that the restriction is working as intended on the device (e.g. does it limit specific integrations or apps)? Hello, We have implemented support for our app to work with MDM. Basically the app needs to read the custom configuration with UserDefaults.standard.dictionary(forKey: ‘com.apple.configuration.managed’) in order to be functional when in an MDM. The issue is that in the app review process we are told that: "Guideline 2.1.0 - Information Needed We are still unable to access the app's Mobile Device Management (MDM) functionality. Provide a demo MDM profile and corresponding login credentials that we can be used to access the MDM features and functionality." How do we create a demo MDM profile? Our app only needs to be passed configuration information and we have used Apple Configurator to create a profile, we have added information but it still doesn't work.
