Designed for iPad / macOS asking users to re-purchase
I spoke with the developer support people on the phone and they referred me here with Case No. 102577694114 I have an existing iPad app. Today, I updated the app and made it available to users on macOS with the "Designed for iPad" setting. Unfortunately, my existing users are reporting that when locating the app on the Mac App Store, it shows the price of the app, when the app will should instead be free for them. They can click on the purchase button and download the app without having to pay, however, in the long run this will create a support headache for me and will lower sales. Please let me know if there is something I can do to fix this! For reference, the app is here : https://apps.apple.com/us/app/patterning-3-drum-machine/id1631913793

Search Bar Should Be at the Top (Consistency Matters)
In iOS 18 betas, the App Store search bar has been moved to the bottom of the screen. This breaks years of usability and is inconsistent with Apple’s own apps—Calendar, Reminders, Maps, Safari, Files, Wallet, and Shortcuts—all of which keep search at the top. I (and many others) hold the phone in one hand and tap with the other. Top placement is faster, more natural, and aligns with established Apple design. The “thumb reach” argument does not fit real-world usage for a large portion of users. What I want is consistency across all Apple apps: put the search bar at the top everywhere. Apple already made this mistake with Safari’s bottom address bar in iOS 15 and had to add a toggle after backlash. Please don’t repeat history. Feedback ID: FB19598638 If you agree, please follow your own feedback and reference this thread. The more reports Apple sees, the more likely this gets fixed.

App Deleted itself after Freeze+ForceQuit on Tahoe 26.1B
I work on a MacBook Pro M3 Max 36GB RAM I am running macOS Tahoe Version 26.1 Beta (23B5042k) The last few days I had a couple of situations where Blender 4.5 LTS Froze and I had to forcequit, I noticed Blender would get Deleted with no notification after the forcequit, it was nowhere to be found on the Application List, Finder. Thought it was a blender issue because I run a special module with it. However around 30min ago I was using Mem and the App froze and I had to ForceQuit, The app also got removed, is not on the list of application and nowhere to be found however the icon on the dock which remained shows a Question Mark. I think this is an OS Behavior I just dont know what to attribute it to.

App Review with Older SDK: Can I Publish After April 24th and How Long Can It Stay in 'On Hold' Status?
I submitted my iOS app for review with the "On Hold" status, but I uploaded the build using an older SDK version. According to the guidelines, starting April 24th, apps need to be built with the updated SDK. If my app is approved and ready for release, will I be able to release it after April 24th, even though it uses the older SDK? Also, how long can the app remain in the "On Hold" status before I need to take further action?

Validation failed Missing app icon. Include a large app icon as a 1024 by 1024 pixel PNG for the 'Any Appearance' image well in the asset catalog of apps built for iOS or iPadOS. Without this icon, apps can't be submitted for review. For details, visit: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/xcode/configuring-your-app-icon. (ID: 525f6327-6859-4ae7-977b-7951423127a6) getting this error while archive and validation then validation failed and got this error But in my xcode each icon is present and when i build the app then in simulator or a real phone the icon is present but while archive and validation then validation failed also i have tried a lot solution but unable to resolve this.

Can't remove app subscription & IAP localization
My IAP and Subscriptions were rejected during review. I went to see what the problem was and it was due to my localization descriptions. So I removed Enlgish (Canada) no problem, created a new one, save. Then there was only one left which is English (US) but when I try to remove this last one, I get an error saying 'There was an error with deleting the localization. Please try again later.' when I try to delete it. This is happening for all my subscription and iap items, as well as the subscription group localization. Seems that when there are multiple rejected localization items in a table, you aren't able to delete the last rejected row regardless of language. Anyone else experience this? Any way to get around it? I would prefer not deleting my entire subscription group and iaps.

iOS App stuck on black screen after launch (Flutter 3.35.6) – works fine on Flutter 3.24.5
After installing the app from App Store or TestFlight, when the user opens the app and then force-kills it multiple times, the app sometimes gets permanently stuck on a black screen at launch. This issue does NOT happen on Flutter 3.24.5 — works perfectly on all tested iOS devices. The problem started only after migrating to Flutter 3.35.6. This issue happens only in real production installs (App Store / TestFlight). It does not reproduce in Debug mode or through Xcode run / Android Studio run. Expected behavior App should show native splash → render Flutter UI normally. Actual behavior Sometimes after killing the app repeatedly: Native splash shows briefly → then screen turns completely black and stays stuck Steps to Reproduce: Install the app from App Store or TestFlight Launch the app Force-kill the app using app switcher Repeat launch + kill multiple times After 3–7 attempts, app gets stuck on black screen on launch Is this a known issue with the latest Flutter iOS engine? Could this be related to Flutter engine warm-up, pre-warming isolates, or native splash transition? Is there any recommended fix or workaround on iOS side? (e.g., ApplicationDidBecomeActive callbacks, UIWindow setup, GPU thread rendering flush, etc.)

App Reject: Subscription works on storeKit but not on sandBox environment.
have successfully created subscription with all metaData: Localization(inside subscription and also for subscription group), logo, description and also screenshots but subscription shows missing metadata instead of ready to submit causing flutter app package inAppPurchase to not found the subscription id or product it. Flutter code level : Future<void> _loadSubscriptions() async { Set<String> kSubscriptionIds = {'monthly_689'}; ProductDetailsResponse response = await _inAppPurchase.queryProductDetails(kSubscriptionIds); if (response.notFoundIDs.isNotEmpty) { kLog("Subscription IDs not found: ${response.notFoundIDs}"); } print("God it works seriously"); print(response.notFoundIDs); print(response.productDetails); print(response.error); subscriptions.value = response.productDetails; } Says: Subscription IDs not found is been logged I try with storekit it works!!! but as apple asking me we test on sandbox environment and it's not working I also created sandbox account login with same credentials and test it not works. Point is package I used in flutter not finding the above product_id I successfully added subscription group, localization, image and all still why my subscription not found ?

App in review almost 20 days
Hi, I did submit my app to review on 7th February, but it is still waiting for review. No status change, no feedback even if i created support ticket. I wonder if this is normal process or something is wrong on my submission. I see people are complining about waiting times but 20 days don't seem an ordinary. It is my first app and market submission.

On macOS with Chinese language, app description in the App Store is displayed incompletely
In my impression, this issue has been around for years. In the Mac App Store, the app description is collapsed by default. After clicking "More" to expand it, the last few lines of the description are always cropped. It seems that the more content there is, the more content gets cropped. The following screenshots are from the same app, one with the system language set to Chinese and the other to English.

App still 'in review' after 9+ days
I submitted my app to be reviewed on May 17, 2025. I've contacted support via phone and email a number of times without much success. One support member said my app was "expedited" on May 23 (5 days ago), but still nothing. I don't want to delete the submission of my app and try again only to repeat this long wait time. Having the app accepted and listed on the app store as soon as possible, since customers who've given us their email for pre-launch are waiting for the app to be public, thus hurting sales (every day this problem persists). Any help or visibility would be appreciated.

Question about the App Store payout and third parties
Hi, all. Apparently, it takes around a month and a half after the end of the month for Apple to send the proceeds, but I wish to use third party services which have to be paid at the end of the month. I can sustain the app on my own up to a point, but if so, there's the risk of it dying of success, even though the money is due. Is there a solution to this timing issue? Ideally, I wouldn't want to seek an investment.

App Store blocker related to the use of a private iOS class, NSBlock
Hi, Our recent security scans, performed by Data Theorem, have flagged a potential App Store blocker related to the use of a private iOS class, NSBlock. We are concerned that this identified warning may lead to our apps being rejected during the next App Store submission. Issue Summary: We integrate a library, this SDK is developed using Kotlin Multiplatform, and during compilation, Kotlin automatically generates Objective-C/Swift interoperability code. As a result of this code generation, the compiled framework includes a reference to a private Apple class, NSBlock. It’s important to note that: No methods or functionality from NSBlock are being invoked or used. This reference is auto-generated by Kotlin’s ObjCExport.mm module. For additional context, you may refer to a related discussion on this issue: https://github.com/ricohapi/theta-client/issues/98 https://github.com/JetBrains/kotlin-native/issues/1642 https://github.com/JetBrains/kotlin-native/pull/1652/files We would like to confirm whether the presence of this unused reference to NSBlock will result in the rejection of our application during App Store review. Thankyou

Is it technically possible to force-update ASM/MDM-distributed App Store apps via a custom update server?
Hello, I’d like to clarify the technical limitations around app updates in an Apple School Manager (ASM) + MDM environment. Environment • iOS/iPadOS devices supervised and managed via Apple School Manager • Apps are distributed via ASM (VPP / Custom App) and managed by MDM • Apps are App Store–signed (not Enterprise/In-House) • Some apps include NetworkExtension (VPN) functionality • Automatic app updates are enabled in MDM Question From a technical and platform-design perspective, is it possible to: Deploy app updates for ASM/MDM-distributed App Store apps via a separate/custom update server, and trigger updates simultaneously across all managed devices, bypassing or supplementing the App Store update mechanism? In other words: • Can an organization operate its own update server to push a new app version to all devices at once? • Or is App Store + iOS always the sole execution path for installing updated app binaries? ⸻ My current understanding (please correct if wrong) Based on Apple documentation, it seems that: 1. App Store–distributed apps cannot self-update • Apps cannot download and install new binaries or replace themselves. • All executable code must be Apple-signed and installed by the system. 2. MDM can manage distribution and enable auto-update, but: • MDM cannot reliably trigger an immediate update for App Store apps. • Actual download/install timing is decided by iOS (device locked, charging, Wi-Fi, etc.). 3. Custom update servers • May be used for policy decisions (minimum allowed version, feature blocking), • But cannot be used to distribute or install updated app binaries on iOS. 4. For ASM-managed devices: • The only supported update execution path is: App Store → iOS → Managed App Update • Any “forced update” behavior must be implemented at the app logic level, not the installation level. ⸻ What I’m trying to confirm • Is there any supported MDM command, API, or mechanism that allows: • Centralized, immediate, one-shot updates of App Store apps across all ASM-managed devices? • Or is the above limitation fundamental by design, meaning: • Organizations must rely on iOS’s periodic auto-update behavior • And enforce version compliance only via app-side logic? ⸻ Why this matters In large school deployments, delayed updates (due to device conditions or OS scheduling) can cause: • Version fragmentation • Inconsistent behavior across classrooms • Operational issues for VPN / security-related apps Understanding whether this limitation is absolute or if there is a recommended Apple-supported workaround would be extremely helpful. Thanks in advance for any clarification

how is the refund amount calculated for auto-renewing upgrade?
Hi, We have a app with some auto-renewing subscription in a group of subscriptions. When a user upgrade from a subscription to another, the "user receive a refund of the prorated amount of their original subscription" (https://developer.apple.com/app-store/subscriptions/). How is the prorated calculated ? Example : subscription to 14,99$ / month. If subscriber upgrade after 10 days, is the refund calculated 10/30 of 14,99$ (so ~5$) ?

Passing Referral Codes in iOS App Installs
The use case that I want to implement is as follows: user A has the app, user B doesn't have the app yet. User A wants to referral user B to get points. User B scans the QR code present in user A's app. User B gets redirected to the App Store and when downloads the app, the code will be automatically present in the sign up request (so the referral code will be cashed during first launch of the app). In Android it was implemented using Google Play Install Referrer. Based on my research, in Apple apparently there isn't an alternative, can you please confirm me this.

ABM Redemption Codes Issue on Mac App Store for Mac Catalyst App
Our app (supports iOS and Mac Catalyst versions) is distributed as a Custom App via Apple Business Manager by generating redemption codes. We are experiencing issues with redemption of the generated codes on Mac devices via Mac Appstore. When attempting to redeem the codes, we encounter the error: "This code must be redeemed in the AppStore found on devices and within iTunes." (Screenshot attached) The codes redeem successfully on iOS devices through the iOS App Store, and then can be installed on Mac devices; the issue is specific to redemption on the Mac App Store. Given that the app has both iOS and Mac Catalyst versions, we expect it to support direct redemption on Mac AppStore as well. In the ABM portal, the platform is correctly shown as iOS and macOS. Notably, the same redemption flow works well for another app that similarly supports iOS and Mac Catalyst versions. From our side, we have compared and verified the configurations of both apps to be the same. We have also ensured the redemption is attempted in the correct App Store–enabled region for the app. Please share any insights.

Not being able to remove app from sale
Hello, I am trying to remove one of my apps from sale on the App Store, but I’m running into an error. I followed the steps provided by Apple Support: Go to My Apps in App Store Connect and select the app Open the Pricing and Availability tab Under the Availability section, click Edit Deselect all territories Press Done When I click Done/Confirm, I get this error: "Your app availability changes could not be saved. Try again later.” What I’ve tried: Different browsers and devices Multiple attempts on different days Contacted Apple Support via email multiple times (no response so far) Additional info: My Developer Program membership has expired (not sure if that is the cause). Screenshot of the error is attached. Has anyone else experienced this? Do I need to renew membership just to remove the app, or is there another way to resolve this? Thanks in advance!

Mail after send app to review
Hi, I submitted an app update for review, and before, I automatically received an email from Apple saying, "Your app is under review," but now I haven't received that email. Does this mean there's a problem with the app? Did I do something wrong? Or do I just not receive that email every time? (So far, I've received it every time I've submitted an app for review.) I hope you can help. Thank you.

Thank you.
