Hello,
I’ve run into an issue with a configuration profile on my supervised iPhone. I’m wondering if anyone here might be able to help?
The profile contains the allowListedAppBundleIDs key within the restrictions payload. My Apple Watch is paired with the iPhone. The iPhone was supervised manually with Apple Configurator, hence the Apple Watch has not been directly supervised itself.
The profile works completely as expected when installed on the phone. As soon as the profile is installed on the iPhone, I can witness the apps on the Apple Watch rearrange themselves as some apps are hidden. So clearly the profile is applying its restrictions to the Apple Watch to some degree.
My issue however is that apps listed in the whitelist are hidden from the Watch. The apps that are missing from my Watch are Walkie Talkie, Find My Items, Find My Friends, Messages, Alarm, Remote, Now Playing, Sleep, Meditation and Heart Rate. This is despite the following bundle IDs being listed in the whitelist array: com.apple.findmy.findpeople, com.apple.findmy.finddevices, com.apple.HeartRate, com.apple.SessionTrackerApp, com.apple.NanoWorldClock, com.apple.findmy.finditems, com.apple.Mind, com.apple.NanoOxygenSaturation, com.apple.watchmemojieditor com.apple.NanoSleep com.apple.NanoNowPlaying com.apple.noise com.apple.tincan com.apple.NanoRemote com.apple.NanoAlarm com.apple.private.NanoTimer com.apple.NanoStopwatch
I’ve done some testing, but not sure what I’ve found really. I’ve so far identified 3 scenarios.
Scenario 1: I have the whitelist profile installed on the iPhone. I download an app that appears in the whitelist from my watch (or at least its iPhone version does). The apps show up on the iPhone automatically and can be launched there. These apps cannot be launched on the watch.
Scenario 2: I downloaded a few apps to my watch, that didn’t automatically install on my iPhone at the same time. They were on the whitelist. These ones couldn’t be launched from my Watch. I then downloaded them to the iPhone and they could be launched there (since they were on the whitelist).
Scenario 3: A couple of 3rd party apps on the whitelist could be downloaded and launched from the watch with the whitelist installed.
It seems as though there are different kinds of Apple Watch app and this is what I’ve read elsewhere. First of all there are Watch-only apps, which do not automatically install a companion iPhone app. Secondly there are companion apps, which when installed from the Watch App Store download their companion app to the iPhone in the background. Someone please correct me - I’m bound to be overlooking something here.
So maybe the apps that when installed from Watch automatically install on iPhone and can only be launched from the iPhone have a separate bundle ID for their Watch app which I haven’t included?
Apps that are on the whitelist AND do not automatically install an iPhone app AND can be launched from the Watch, include:
solstice
What3words
So maybe these do not need a companion app, but have the same Bundle ID as their iPhone app?
However, I’m still not sure why many stock Apple Watch apps are missing from the Watch…. The most obvious answer is that I’ve got their Bundle IDs wrong, but I don’t think I have given I extracted the bundle IDs from the App Store pages of the Apple WatchOS apps.
I noticed at this Apple Support page (https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/deployment/dep34c5cd30f/1/web/1.0) that there is no mention of whitelisting or blacklisting apps on WatchOS using MDM, yet something definitely happens on the watch when the configuration profile is installed on the iPhone. Furthermore, if I tap on a configuration profile, which comprises a blacklist, on my iPhone it will ask me if I want to install it on the iPhone or Watch. The same pop-up question doesn’t happen when the profile contains a whitelist.
All this to say, I’m massively confused as to why I can’t get this working. I’d really appreciate anyone’s advice which is bound to be expert.
Thank you

When trying to use a UISearchController setup with a UISearchBar that has scope buttons, the search controller's scopeBarActivation property is set to .onSearchActivation, the navigation item's preferredSearchBarPlacement property is set to .integrated. or .integratedButton, and the search bar/button appears in the navigation bar, then the scope buttons never appear. But space is made for where they should appear.
Some relevant code in a UIViewController shown as the root view controller of a UINavigationController:
private func setupSearch() {
let sc = UISearchController(searchResultsController: UIViewController())
sc.delegate = self
sc.obscuresBackgroundDuringPresentation = true
// Setup search bar with scope buttons
let bar = sc.searchBar
bar.scopeButtonTitles = [ "One", "Two", "Three", "Four" ]
bar.selectedScopeButtonIndex = 0
bar.delegate = self
// Apply the search controller to the nav bar
navigationItem.searchController = sc
// BUG - Under iOS/iPadOS 26 RC, using .onSearchActivation results in the scope buttons never appearing at all
// when using integrated placement in the nav bar.
// Ensure the scope buttons appear immediately upon activating the search controller
sc.scopeBarActivation = .onSearchActivation
// This works but doesn't show the scope buttons until the user starts typing - that's too late for my needs
//sc.scopeBarActivation = .automatic
if #available(iOS 26.0, *) {
// Under iOS 26 put the search icon in the nav bar - same issue for .integrated and .integratedButton
navigationItem.preferredSearchBarPlacement = .integrated // .integratedButton
// My toolbar is full so I need the search in the navigation bar
navigationItem.searchBarPlacementAllowsToolbarIntegration = false // Ensure it's in the nav bar
} else {
// Under iOS 18 put the search bar in the nav bar below the title
navigationItem.preferredSearchBarPlacement = .stacked
}
}
I need the search bar in the navigation bar since the toolbar is full. And I need the scope buttons to appear immediately upon search activation.
This problem happens on any real or simulated iPhone or iPad running iOS/iPadOS 26 RC.
Hello everyone,
I'm encountering an issue while trying to publish an app on TestFlight. The app in question is Home Assistant, which I've compiled from the source. I am able to compile and install the app on my device without any problems. My company's developer account is properly configured, and I have set Xcode to automatically manage the provisioning profile.
The archive is also created successfully, but when I attempt to upload it to Apple Store Connect for testing via TestFlight, I receive the following error:
ERROR: [ContentDelivery.Uploader] Asset validation failed (90525) Missing Entitlement. The bundle 'Home Assistant.app/PlugIns/HomeAssistant-Extensions-PushProvider.appex' is missing entitlement 'com.apple.developer.networking.networkextension'. (ID: ceac6dcc-9c76-412e-8ea7-f2d2845f8013)
I've made several attempts to resolve this issue to no avail. For instance, if I add the missing capability manually, then I am informed that the provisioning profile is incorrect. However, checking the network extension settings on my company's dev account, I see nothing related to push notifications, which are located elsewhere. Thus, I am stuck in a loop where either the provisioning file is correct but the entitlement is missing, or if the entitlement is present, then the provisioning profile is deemed incorrect.

Hi.
We are writing to report a critical issue we've encountered following the recent release of iOS 26 beta 6.
After updating our test devices, we discovered that our application is no longer able to establish HTTPS connections to several of our managed FQDNs. This issue was not present in beta 5 and appears to be a direct result of changes introduced in beta 6.
The specific FQDNs that are currently unreachable are:
d.socdm.com
i.socdm.com
tg.scodm.com
We have reviewed the official iOS & iPadOS 26 Beta 6 Release Notes, particularly the updates related to TLS. While the notes mention changes, we have confirmed that our servers for all affected FQDNs support TLS 1.2, so we believe they should still be compliant.
We have also investigated several of Apple's support documents regarding TLS connection requirements (e.g., HT214774, HT214041), but the information does not seem to apply to our situation, and we are currently unable to identify the root cause of this connection failure.
https://support.apple.com/en-us/102028
https://support.apple.com/en-us/103214
Although we hope this issue might be resolved in beta 7 or later, the official release is fast approaching, and this has become a critical concern for us.
Could you please provide any advice or insight into what might be causing this issue? Any guidance on potential changes in the networking or security frameworks in beta 6 that could affect TLS connections would be greatly appreciated.
We have attached the relevant code snippet that triggers the error, along with the corresponding Xcode logs, for your review.
Thank you for your time and assistance.

Hi Team,
I’ve tried downloading the EnableBluetoothCentralMatterClientDeveloperMode.mobileconfig certificate from multiple sources, but all the links I found point to expired versions.
Could you please help me with the URL to the latest version of this certificate?
Here are the links I’ve already tried, but none of them worked:

Looking forward to your support.

Hi everyone,
I’m encountering a serious reliability issue with message passing in my Safari extension on iOS 18.4.1 and iOS 18.5
In my extension, I use the standard messaging API where the background script sends a message to the content scrip. The content script is listening using:
browser.runtime.onMessage.addListener(handler);
This setup has been working reliably in previous versions of iOS, but since updating to iOS 18.4.1 and iOS 18.5, I’ve noticed that messages sent from the background script are not consistently received by the content script. From my logs, I can confirm that:
The background script is sending the message.
The content script’s listener is not always triggered.
There are no errors or exceptions logged in either script.
It seems as if browser.runtime.onMessage.addListener is either not getting registered in time or failing silently in some instances.
This issue is intermittent and does not occur all the time.
Has anyone else experienced similar issues in iOS 18.4.1 and 18.5? Are there any known changes or workarounds for ensuring reliable communication between background and content scripts in this version?
Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Dear Apple Support,
We are encountering an issue with deep linking on iOS 26 when using Safari and App Store redirection. Below are the detailed steps to reproduce the problem:
The app is not installed on the device.
User clicks on a Branch link:
For example:- https://qewed.app.link/99u88ef9f?uuid=88dbwh5ubd4b
Safari opens and displays the fallback page.
User taps on “Get the App”, which navigates to the App Store.
User installs and opens the app.
Expected Behavior:
The app should receive the Branch link parameters (in this case, uuid=88dbwh5ubd4b) upon first open.
Actual Behavior:
The app opens successfully, but the uuid parameter is not passed to the app.
This issue seems specific to the Safari → App Store → App flow on iOS 26, as other flows behave correctly.
Could you please advise whether this is a known issue or if there are recommended adjustments on our side to ensure parameters are consistently delivered after App Store redirection?
Note: We are using Branch SDK version 3.11.0 (Cocoapods dependency)
Thank you for your assistance.
I'm encountering an issue with system accessories in UICollectionViewCells after overriding the trait collection. Specifically, the accessories are misaligned and shifted downwards.
This issue occurs when using setOverrideTraitCollection (other trait override methods produce the same result). Interestingly, this doesn't happen with all accessories; for example, the disclosureIndicator is scaled correctly.
If I don't use setOverrideTraitCollection (or other trait override methods), the system accessories scale as expected.
Here's a code snippet demonstrating the issue.
I have a "Fix Size" button that overrides the trait collection to a UITraitCollection with a UIContentSizeCategory of large. The "Follow Settings" button resets the trait collection, allowing the views to scale according to the system settings.
import UIKit

let button: UIButton = {
let button = UIButton(type: .system)
button.setTitle("Fix Size", for: .normal)
return button
}()

button.setTitle("Follow Settings", for: .normal)
return button
}()
var listItems: [Int] = [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
var collectionView: UICollectionView?

)
buttonRe.addTarget(

Hi ,
I have a requirement like,
Develop an app for iPad and app uses .net core apis.
App will be in kiosk mode, and app doesn't have any type of authentication even OTP also.
As the apis will be publishing to all over internet, how can we achieve security to apis?
Kindly provide suggestions for this implementation
Hi everyone -
I'm seeing an issue specifically on iOS26 where we instantiate a few storyboard items programmatically and pull their restoration identifier. On iOS26, these identifiers are null and cause a crash, but the assignments are on the storyboard and there has been no change to that logic. On iOS 18, for example, there is no crash and the identifiers are pulled properly.
Anybody else seeing this?
After updating iOS 26beta1, it has been a software update error. Can you give me some suggestions to solve the problem?
I’m developing a iOS VPN app, and I need to execute a task in the main app even when it’s in the background or killed state. I know the Network Extension continues running during those times. Is there a way for the extension to immediately notify the app or trigger a task on the app side?
Platform: iOS 26 RC / Xcode 26 RC
Component: UIKit - UITextField
Description:
When typing a Japanese character (or other IME input) as the first character in a UITextField and then losing focus (by pressing Enter or tapping elsewhere), the character is incorrectly duplicated. This issue only happens in iOS26 beta.
Steps to Reproduce:
Create a UITextField with shouldChangeCharactersIn delegate
Switch to Japanese keyboard
Type "あ" (or any hiragana character)
Press Enter or tap outside the text field
Observe the character count becomes 2 instead of 1
Expected Result:
Character count should remain 1
Actual Result:
Character is duplicated, count becomes 2
Sample Code:
func shouldChangeText(
in range: NSRange,
replacementText string: String,
maximumNumberOfCharacters: Int,
regexValidation: String? = nil) -> (String, Bool) {

I’m creating a UITabBarController with a simple array of UITab instances. I’m setting the mode to .tabSideBar. How do I prevent editing? I don’t want the Edit button to appear at all. I’ve tried setting the tab controller’s customizableViewControllers property to both nil and an empty array but neither is preventing the Edit button from appearing. I scanned the various delegates and I don‘t see any relevant methods.
So far I’ve tested this on a simulated iPad running iPadOS 26 using Xcode 26 RC.
I work for a large medical device company.
We have a 1st party BLE enabled medical device that must be very battery efficient. To this end, if a connection is lost, the BLE radio is powered down after 60 seconds and will only turn back on when a physical button on the device is pressed.
I've been tasked with connecting to the device, staying connected to the device, and being able to retrieve data from the device upon a timed action. For instance, this could include a data read and transmission while they sleep. The key part of this is staying reliably connected for extended periods of time.
This is a BYOD setup, and we cannot control power profiles.
I would very much appreciate any information, recommendations, and/or insights into solving this problem.
Thanks!

If an iOS application has a notification service extension which gets sent a push, but the user has not been prompted for notification authorization via requestAuthorization() then what is the expected behavior?
Will the push get delivered to the NSE but the resulting notification not displayed? Or will the push not get delivered at all to the NSE?
I’m using the new preferredTransition = .zoom(...) API introduced in iOS 18.
Here’s a simplified version of what I do on app startup:
let listVC = CollectionViewController(collectionViewLayout: layout)
let detailVC = DetailViewController()
detailVC.preferredTransition = .zoom(sourceViewProvider: { context in
let indexPath = IndexPath(row: 0, section: 0)
let cell = listVC.collectionView.cellForItem(at: indexPath)
return cell
})
let nav = UINavigationController()
nav.setViewControllers([listVC, detailVC], animated: false)
window?.rootViewController = nav
window?.makeKeyAndVisible()
This is meant to restore the UI state from a previous session — the app should launch directly into the DetailViewController.
The Problem
When I launch the app with setViewControllers([listVC, detailVC], animated: false), the transition from listVC to detailVC appears correctly (i.e., no animation, as intended), but the drag-to-dismiss gesture does not work. The back button appears, and tapping it correctly triggers the zoom-out transition back to the cell, so the preferredTransition = .zoom(...) itself is properly configured.
Interestingly, if I delay the push with a DispatchQueue.main.async and instead do:
nav.setViewControllers([listVC], animated: false)
DispatchQueue.main.async {
nav.pushViewController(detailVC, animated: true)
}
…then everything works perfectly — including the interactive swipe-to-dismiss gesture — but that introduces an unwanted visual artifact: the user briefly sees the listVC, and then it pushes to detailVC, which I’m trying to avoid.
My Question
Is there a way to enable the swipe-to-dismiss gesture when using setViewControllers([listVC, detailVC], animated: false)
It can be very confusing for users if swipe-to-dismiss only works in certain cases inconsistently.
Thanks
After my phone updated to the latest version of iOS 26 Beta overnight, I found out this morning that I cannot get past the setup process as it fails to recognise it's connected to the WiFi and is then unable to activate Apple Intelligence.
I've tried bypassing this via iPhone mirroring on my MacBook, and while I can access the home screen that way, all native apps are inaccessible and 3rd party apps are only accessible via app switcher. The 3rd party apps (Slack, Instagram, etc) work fine, meaning the device has an internet connection.
Unless someone has another suggestion, it looks like my only option is to remove the beta software by restoring my device - although I'm going to wait until iOS 26 is fully released later today (how convenient) as I don't want to use an iOS 18 backup and lose a bunch of stuff.

I have some logic which requires NFC support on the device. This is what I'm using to make sure that it's available:
isNFCMissing = !NFCNDEFReaderSession.readingAvailable && !NFCTagReaderSession.readingAvailable && !NFCVASReaderSession.readingAvailable
Is it possible for isNFCMissing to be true even if the device has an NFC chip.
The minimum iOS version for the application is 16 which is only supported on devices with an NFC chip to begin with.
