Hi,
I've had trouble for a while now with HealthKit giving me different values if I make the request on iOS and WatchOS.
I am using the exact same method on both with the same parameters but I get vast differences in the results.
The code I am using to call HealthKit on both devices is:
let dateRange = HKQuery.predicateForSamples(withStart: Date().removeMonths(numberOfMonths: 1), end: Date().endOfDay())
let predicate: NSPredicate
predicate = NSCompoundPredicate(type: .and, subpredicates: [dateRange])
let query = HKStatisticsQuery(quantityType: HKQuantityType(.stepCount), quantitySamplePredicate: predicate, options: .cumulativeSum) { _, result, error in
if error != nil {
//print("Error fetching step count, or there is no data: \(error.localizedDescription), \(startDate) -> \(endDate)")
onComplete(0)
return
}
if let result, let sum = result.sumQuantity() {
let stepCount = sum.doubleValue(for: HKUnit.count())
DispatchQueue.main.async {
onComplete(Int(stepCount))
}
}
}
healthStore.execute(query)
}
Selecting any option will automatically load the page

Hi, We are facing a major issue with our application. We are using FolioReaderkit to read epub files. Currently, it's working on the iOS 18.1 device and simulator, but it's not working on the iOS 18.2 and later version devices.
we are facing this error in Folioreaderkit
I have a transformation function that takes in data, executes some instructions, and returns an output. This function is dynamic and not shipped with the binary. Currently, I’m executing it using JavaScriptCore.JSContext, which works well, but the function itself is written in JavaScript.
Is there a way to achieve something similar using Swift – such as executing a dynamic Swift script, either directly or through other means? I know this is possible on macOS, but I’m not sure about iOS. I’ve also heard that extensions might open up some possibilities here. Any insights or alternative approaches would be appreciated.
Description:
We are developing an iOS app that offers only one auto-renewable subscription.
Recently, a user who had not subscribed for over a year purchased the subscription again through our app. However, when they checked Settings > Subscriptions, the new subscription did not appear. Instead, only their past subscription history was visible, and there was no option to cancel the new subscription. We have verified this issue with a screenshot provided by the user.
Additionally, we checked our app’s logs and confirmed that StoreKit.product.purchase successfully returned .success, indicating that the purchase was processed correctly.
Code used for purchase:
let result = try await product?
.purchase(options: [
.appAccountToken(uuid)
])
switch result {
case .success(let verificationResult):
switch verificationResult {
case .verified(let transaction):
addPurchaseLog("verificationResult.verified.")
case .unverified(_, let verificationError):
addPurchaseLog("verificationResult.unverified.")
case .userCancelled, .pending, .none:
addPurchaseLog("verificationResult.userCancelled or .pending or .none")
@unknown default:
addPurchaseLog("verificationResult.unknown.")
}
Despite the successful purchase, the new subscription does not appear under the user's active subscriptions. Could this be a bug in StoreKit? If there are any known issues or workarounds, we would appreciate any guidance.

We have found a large number of memory-related crashes in iOS18, and multiple issues have finally pointed to this crash line xzm_xzone_malloc_tiny_outlined. Do not know how to solve it now
In my application, I use CallKit and have supportsHolding = true set. During my phone call, another call comes in (e.g., GSM). I accept the incoming call and put the current call on hold.
If I end the active call myself, everything is fine, and CallKit calls the
method provider(_ provider: CXProvider, didActivate audioSession: AVAudioSession).
However, if the other party ends the call, the second call remains on hold. In the application, the user clicks on unhold, and I notify CallKit that the hold has ended.
But in this case, the didActivate method is not called at all. If I try to activate the audio myself after unhold, I receive the error:
Domain=NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code=561017449 "Session activation failed" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Session activation failed}
AVAudioSessionErrorInsufficientPriority == NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code: 561017449
What needs to be done for CallKit to activate my audio?
Hello Team,
I try to delete photo from Photos for that i used this method,
[[PHPhotoLibrary sharedPhotoLibrary] performChanges:^{
[PHAssetChangeRequest deleteAssets:@[assetToDelete]];
completionHandler:^(BOOL success, NSError *error) {
}];
This method pops up a dialog with Don't Allow or Delete. But some time in some iPhones not respond PHAssetChangeRequest deleteAssets method that's why that completionHandler not called because of that i can't perform any operation of PHPhotoLibrary then after.
If I restart my iPhone then it works. Many users of my app complained about this issue. I have an iPhone 11 with iOS 15.3. But some iOS 12,14,16 users also face the same issue.
So what exact issue is there? Is it related to iOS or a method?
Thanks,
Ankur
I’m seeing a layout issue in SwiftUI on iOS 26 that only reproduces with specific Accessibility Motion settings.
Steps to reproduce
1. Open Settings → Accessibility → Motion.
2. Enable Reduce Motion and Prefer Cross-Fade Transitions.
3. Launch an app with a SwiftUI TextField.
4. Tap the field to show the keyboard.
5. Dismiss the keyboard (tap outside, swipe down, etc.).
Expected:
After the keyboard is dismissed, the view’s bottom safe area / layout should return to normal.
Actual:
The view continues to reserve space equal to the keyboard height — as if the keyboard were still visible. UI anchored to the safe area remains shifted upward until the view is reloaded.
Facing issue of NSUserDefaults data got cleared on update new version from app store. so all data of user got cleared and user have to login again.
I was having app in store with version 1.1.3 and then we have uploaded new version to store with version 1.1.4
but when user download app from store their data was cleared from UserDefaults.so this is big issue in update. need to help. is that apple updated any process on update.
Question
How Apple change version build in device when we update app from app store.
is it uninstall old build and install new build ?
Or it is install new version on old version ?
Should UserDefaults.standard will delete on update ?
Updating Provisioning profile from manual to automatically cause issue on UserDefaults.standard Like UserDefaults got cleared and uuid will change ?
Do we have anythings that we can identify specific user as uniq user ?
What is better solution to store login data into SQLite store or in UserDefaults as model ?
Will appreciate for your help. this is very big issue and login again on update will make app user more effect
We've identified a regression in iOS 26.0 and 26.1 Beta 4 where AVSpeechSynthesisVoice(language:) no longer respects user-selected voices from Accessibility settings.
Issue: When users select a specific voice in Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices, calling AVSpeechSynthesisVoice(language:) returns the system default voice instead of the user's selection. This worked correctly in iOS 18.6.2.
Particularly affects:
Third-party speech synthesis voices (CereProc, Grammatek, etc.)
Apps relying on automatic voice selection based on user preferences
Example:
// User selected CereProc Heather for en-GB in Accessibility settings
let voice = AVSpeechSynthesisVoice(language: "en-GB")
print(voice?.name) // iOS 18.6.2: "HEATHER", iOS 26: "Daniel" (system default)
Interesting observation: The new Accessibility Reader feature in iOS 26 correctly uses the user-selected voice, but Tap to Speak and the API both ignore the setting.
Tested methods:
AVSpeechSynthesisVoice(language:)
AVSpeechUtterance auto-selection
Reflection for new APIs
All return the system default voice, not the user's preference.
Filed: FB[20271264]
Has anyone else encountered this? Any known workarounds to programmatically access the user's preferred voice selection?
Hello,
I have a question about data deserialization using NSKeyedUnarchiver in iOS SDK development.
Current Situation:
Previously, we were using the NSKeyedUnarchiver.unarchiveObject(with: Data) function
We have changed to using the NSKeyedUnarchiver.unarchivedObject(ofClasses:from:) method to deserialize complex objects stored in UserDefaults
We need to include all types in the ofClasses parameter, including Swift primitive types as well as various custom classes and structs within the project
Questions:
Implementation Approach: Is it correct pattern to include all classes defined in the project in the ofClasses array? Is this approach recommended?
Runtime Stability: When using this approach, is there a possibility of runtime crashes? Are there any performance issues?
Alternative Methods: If the current approach is not the correct pattern, what alternatives should we consider?
Current Code Structure:
All model classes conform to the NSSecureCoding protocol
We use the requiringSecureCoding: true parameter
We use a whitelist approach, explicitly listing only allowed classes
I would like to know if this structure is appropriate, or if we should consider a different approach.
Thank you.

Problem Statement: We are currently facing internet connectivity issue with our VPN application where we try to disconnect the VPN from the Packet Tunnel Network Extension using - (void)cancelTunnelWithError:(nullable NSError *)error. Which API to use to disconnect the VPN from Packet Tunnel as VPN app is not running such that device retains its internet connectivity as soon as VPN disconnects.
Configuration: We have configured PacketTunnelProvider with the following settings:
(NETunnelProviderManager *)tunnelProvider.protocolConfiguration.includeAllNetworks = YES;
(NETunnelProviderManager *)tunnelProvider.protocolConfiguration.excludeLocalNetworks = NO;
(NETunnelProviderManager *)tunnelProvider.protocolConfiguration.enforceRoutes = NO;
These settings are applied from the VPN app and allow us to successfully establish a VPN connection, with all traffic being routed through the tunnel as expected.We are setting above properties to address local net attack.
Issue we are facing:
However, we encounter a problem when we attempt to disconnect the VPN from. When we call the following method from PacketTunnel network extension:
(void)cancelTunnelWithError:(nullable NSError *)error
Upon calling this method, the VPN disconnects as expected, but the device loses all internet connectivity and is unable to access any resources. This is not the desired behavior.
Observation : Interestingly, when we call the following method from the app side. The VPN disconnects and the device retains its internet connectivity.
[enabledConfig.connection stopVPNTunnel];
We would like to achieve the same behavior when disconnecting the VPN from the Network Extension. So we are looking for an API that could be called from NE without causing any internet connectivity issue.
Any guidance on how to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Hello,
I have an app in AppStore "Counter Widget". https://apps.apple.com/app/id1522170621
It allows you to add a widget to your homescreen/lockscreen to count anything.
Everything works fine except for one scenario. iOS 18+
I create 2 or more widgets for one counter. For example, medium and small widgets.
I click on the widget button to increase or decrease the value.
The button in the widget uses Button(intent: AppIntent) to update the value and calls WidgetCenter.shared.reloadAllTimelines() to update the second widget for the same counter.
For iOS 18 in this particular scenario, you don't even have to call the WidgetCenter.shared.reloadAllTimelines(). iOS already knows that there is a widget with the same INIntent settings and will update it itself.
Both widgets are updated and show the new value. Everything is correct.
Now on the homescreen I open the widget configuration for one of the widgets to change the INIntent for the widget. For example, i change the background to wallpaper. This is just a skin for the widget, and the widget is associated with the same counter value as before.
As in (2), I click the widget button to increase or decrease the value.
But now only one widget is updated. iOS ignores my call to WidgetCenter.shared.reloadAllTimelines() and does not update the second widget connected to the same counter.
As I found, iOS, when I call WidgetCenter.shared.reloadAllTimelines() from the widget itself, updates other widgets only if INIntent is absolutely equal for them.
Overriding isEqual for them did not help. That is, I cannot specify which fields from my INIntent can be ignored during such an update and consider that widgets are equal and need to be updated. Obviously iOS make this compare outside my code.
The main problem is that when the user adds a widget to the lock screen and increases and decreases the value there. After that, he opens the home screen and the widget there is not synchronized with the value from the widget on the lock screen.
How to solve this problem?
Hi,
I have a UIViewController that contains a UITextField I am presenting that view controller inside SwiftUI using a UIViewControllerRepresentable and I am able to interact with the text field fine and the view controller lifecycle executes normally if the representable is not presented on any SwiftUI container that internally uses a scroll view on the other hand if I put the representable view inside a SwiftUI view that has a scroll view internally (when the UIKit hierarchy is generated) the text field does not respond to interaction anymore and the only view controller lifecycle method invoked is the viewDidLoad from my view controller the other methods are not executed.
Anyone knows if this is a bug on SwiftUI or if there is any additional setup necessary for UIViewControllerRepresentables?
Thanks in advance.
since updating from 18.3 to 18.4, both on cellular and WiFi Networks I can’t connect to the internet.
Since the phone wont connect to the internet I’m not able to turn off “find my iPhone“ to restore my iPhone to iOS 18.3
this way my iPhone is useless
any ideas / thoughts about this?
Our project using UISplitViewController as the root view controller for whole app. And when using the xocde26 to build app in iOS26, the layout of page is uncorrect.
for iPhone, when launch app and in portrait mode, the app only show a blank page:
and when rotate app to landscape, the first view controller of UISplitViewController's viewControllers will float on second view controller:
and this float behavior also happens in iPad:
below is the demo code:
AppDelegate.swift:
import UIKit
@main
class AppDelegate: UIResponder, UIApplicationDelegate {
let window: UIWindow = UIWindow()
func application(_ application: UIApplication, didFinishLaunchingWithOptions launchOptions: [UIApplication.LaunchOptionsKey: Any]?) -> Bool {
let vc = SplitViewController(primary: TabBarViewController(), secondary: ViewController())
window.rootViewController = vc
window.makeKeyAndVisible()
return true
}
}
SplitViewController:
import UIKit
class SplitViewController: UISplitViewController {
init(primary: UIViewController, secondary: UIViewController) {
super.init(nibName: nil, bundle: nil)
preferredDisplayMode = .oneBesideSecondary
presentsWithGesture = false
delegate = self
viewControllers = [primary, secondary]
}
required init?(coder: NSCoder) {
fatalError("init(coder:) has not been implemented")
}
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
}
}
extension SplitViewController: UISplitViewControllerDelegate {
}
TabBarViewController.swift:
import UIKit
class FirstViewController: UIViewController {
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
view.backgroundColor = .red
tabBarItem = UITabBarItem(title: "Home", image: UIImage(systemName: "house"), tag: 0)
}
}
class SecondViewController: UIViewController {
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
view.backgroundColor = .purple
tabBarItem = UITabBarItem(title: "Setting", image: UIImage(systemName: "gear"), tag: 1)
}
}
class TabBarViewController: UITabBarController {
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
let firstVC = FirstViewController()
let secondVC = SecondViewController()
tabBar.backgroundColor = .orange
viewControllers = [firstVC, secondVC]
}
}
ViewController.swift:
import UIKit
class ViewController: UIViewController {
override func viewDidLoad() {
super.viewDidLoad()
view.backgroundColor = .systemPink
}
}
And I have post a feedback in Feedback Assistant(id: FB18004520), the demo project code can be found there.
We have noticed that if we apply forceDelayedSoftwareUpdates in Restrictions profile, it causes ScheduleOSUpdates to fail or go into an invalid state.
For example:
On my iOS device, we have set the forceDelayedSoftwareUpdates to 90 days which removed the latest iOS update iOS 18.2 from the Software Updates section on the device.
Post this, if I schedule an update for iOS 18.2 using ScheduleOSUpdateCommand, it fails to download.
If I schedule the same without forceDelayedSoftwareUpdates, the update works as expected.
Please help what could be the reason for this behavior as forceDelayedSoftwareUpdates should not block ScheduleOSUpdates.
I'm a web developer of WebRTC based web app for video and audio calls. After updating to iOS 26.1 beta I noticed, that my app can't use microphone anymore.
When I'm calling to getUserMedia with audio set to true, Safari returns error "No AVAudioSessionCaptureDevice device".
Other WebRTC demo apps also can't access microphone on this firmware.
And maybe it's connected somehow, but safari can't detect connected AirPods Pro 2 as an input device.
So, this bug brakes any WebRTC app, that uses microphones.
In iOS 26 there is a new way of displaying action sheets from the buttons that triggers them. I figured out that in SwiftUI you can just set the confirmationDialog view modifier on the button that triggers it.
However, I can't find a way to get this behavior in UIKit when a UIButton triggers an alert. Has anyone got this work?
The behavior is mentioned briefly in the "Get to know the new design system" session.
