Open parent app from ShieldAction extension in iOS
When I tap on one of the buttons in the ShieldAction extension I want to close the shield and open the parent app instead of the shielded app. Is there any way of doing this using the Screen Time API? class ShieldActionExtension: ShieldActionDelegate {      override func handle(action: ShieldAction, for application: ApplicationToken, completionHandler: @escaping (ShieldActionResponse) -> Void) {     // Handle the action as needed.           let store = ManagedSettingsStore()               switch action {     case .primaryButtonPressed:       //TODO - open parent app       completionHandler(.defer)     case .secondaryButtonPressed:       //remove shield       store.shield.applications?.remove(application)       completionHandler(.defer)         @unknown default:       fatalError()     }   }   }

Live Caller ID Lookup: OHTTP Gateway Rejection
Hello, After submitting onboarding form for Live Caller ID Lookup feature, we received rejection response that our OHTTP gateway doesn't support HTTP/2. We have run provided command openssl s_client -alpn h2 -connect with our domain several times from different machines and environments, and our results consistently confirm that HTTP/2 is indeed supported by our OHTTP gateway. The output clearly shows ALPN protocol: h2, indicating successful HTTP/2 negotiation. Here is the log chunk from the command-line response: No client certificate CA names sent Peer signing digest: SHA256 Peer signature type: RSA-PSS Server Temp Key: X25519, 253 bits --- SSL handshake has read 4393 bytes and written 406 bytes Verification: OK --- New, TLSv1.3, Cipher is TLS_AES_128_GCM_SHA256 Server public key is 2048 bit This TLS version forbids renegotiation. Compression: NONE Expansion: NONE ALPN protocol: h2 Early data was not sent Verify return code: 0 (ok) --- DONE We have also tried different 3rd-party services to check the HTTP/2 support and they also confirmed that HTTP/2 is supported. Is it possible to provide additional details on the specific criteria or test conditions that led to its non-approval? I'm happy to provide any further diagnostic information or engage in more detailed technical discussion.

Filling the tax Information. Help needed.
I'm setting up subscriptions on the App Store and need to fill out some forms. One of them is the "U.S. Certificate of Foreign Status of Beneficial Owner." At the bottom of the form, I see a label 'U.S. Person' with my name listed underneath it. What does "U.S. Person" mean here? My name appears below the "U.S. Person" title, but I'm not a U.S. person. What should I do? Also, what title should I enter? I'm the only developer on the app.

iOS Blocking Websocket Reconnection After Multiple VoIP Push Notifications
Hello, We have a Push-to-Talk (PTT) application that is already well established and widely used. Our app has the proper VoIP entitlement, which we are using to wake up the app and establish a WebSocket connection for real-time communication. We are also using CallKit as a supporting mechanism, but not as the primary interaction upon receiving the VoIP Push, since our use case differs from traditional full-duplex VoIP calls. While our implementation works correctly in many cases, we have noticed a consistent issue where, after multiple VoIP Push notifications, the system still delivers the push, but prevents the WebSocket from reconnecting. At this point, all connection attempts return errors such as: • "Software caused connection abort" This issue persists until the app is manually relaunched, after which the behavior resets and repeats. We are aware that VoIP Push was originally designed for full-duplex calls, but since Apple allows its use for other purposes through the entitlement, we would like to understand why this limitation is occurring and how to handle it properly. Questions: 1. Is iOS enforcing stricter background execution rules after multiple VoIP Push events within a short period? 2. Are there any recommended best practices to ensure reliable WebSocket reconnection in this scenario?

Transaction.currentEntitlements is not consistent
I've recently published an app, and while developing it, I could always get consistent entitlements from Transaction.currentEntitlements. But now I see some inconsistent behaviour for a subscribed device in the AppStore version. It looks like sometimes the entitlements do not emit value for the subscriptions. It usually happens on the first couple tries when the device goes offline, or on the first couple tries when the device goes online. But it also happens randomly at other times as well. Can there be a problem with Transaction.currentEntitlements when the connectivity was just changed? Of course my implementation may also be broken. I will give you the details of my implementation below. I have a SubscriptionManager that is observable (irrelevant parts of the entity is omitted): final class SubscriptionManager: NSObject, ObservableObject { private let productIds = ["yearly", "monthly"] private(set) var purchasedProductIDs = Set<String>() var hasUnlockedPro: Bool { return !self.purchasedProductIDs.isEmpty } @MainActor func updatePurchasedProducts() async { var purchasedProductIDs = Set<String>() for await result in Transaction.currentEntitlements { guard case .verified(let transaction) = result else { continue } if transaction.revocationDate == nil { purchasedProductIDs.insert(transaction.productID) } else { purchasedProductIDs.remove(transaction.productID) } } // only update if changed to avoid unnecessary published triggers if purchasedProductIDs != self.purchasedProductIDs { self.purchasedProductIDs = purchasedProductIDs } } } And I call the updatePurchasedProducts() when the app first launches in AppDelegate, before returning true on didFinishLaunchingWithOptions as: Task(priority: .high) { await DependencyContainer.shared.subscriptionManager.updatePurchasedProducts() } You may be wondering maybe the request is not finished yet and I fail to refresh my UI, but it is not the case. Because later on, every time I do something related to a subscribed content, I check the hasUnlockedPro computed property of the subscription manager, which still returns false, meaning the purchasedProductIDs is empty. You may also be curious about the dependency container approach, but I ensured by testing multiple times that there is only one instance of the SubscriptionManager at all times in the app. Which makes me think maybe there is something wrong with Transaction.currentEntitlements I would appreciate any help regarding this problem, or would like to know if anyone else experienced similar problems.

SwiftData/ModelContext.swift:3253: Fatal error: Failed to identify a store that can hold instances of SwiftData._KKMDBackingData<Presents_2024.Item> from [:]
I'm still getting this error (SwiftData/ModelContext.swift:3253: Fatal error: Failed to identify a store that can hold instances of SwiftData._KKMDBackingData<Presents_2024.Item> from [:]) in Xcode 16.1 Beta (16B5001e). The app works for a limited amount of time and then crashes with this error. It looks like the SwiftData model isn't being created properly and when a context is saved it crashes. Can you tell me if this error will be fixed in the next beta?

AlarmKit - Custom Sounds?
Could someone please explain how to use a custom sound when setting up an alarm using AlarmKit? It keeps playing a default sound. Also, I keep having an issue where the alarm sound plays but doesn’t show the alarm interface buttons unless the screen is locked.

Screentime API new issues on iOS 17.4.1 and 17.5.1
Hi, I have a released screentime app ScreenZen. The last few days I've seen a disturbing spike in bug reports coming from people with 17.4.1 and 17.5.1 phones with no update to the app itself. People reported they saw the issue immediately after updating their iOS version. Unfortunately it is not replicable on all phones with those versions, so we haven't been able to replicate it on our test phones. It appears the issue is the ApplicationToken passed into ShieldActionExtension and ShieldConfigurationExtension does not match any of the ApplicationTokens that the user selected to block through FamilyControls. (The selected ApplicationTokens are being loaded through a group UserDefaults and they are indeed being loaded in the ShieldActionExtension in the bug reports).This is preventing the app from loading the correct settings and handling the blocking accordingly. I am trying to isolate this better with a new release with better logging, but would appreciate any help on this issue.

iOS26 beta: AppClips are not working properly
Hi, As a company, we have several apps in the AppStore that contain AppClips. With the latest iOS18 it works without any problems. With all iOS26 betas so far, however, there is always the problem “ASDErrorDomain- Error 507” and the AppClip cannot be opened. You can easily test this by scanning the following QR code with the system camera: You only ever get this error instead of the option to open the AppClip. As the iOS26 beta phase is already at an advanced stage, we are naturally concerned as to whether the problem will be solved.

交易无法结束 (Transactions Unable to Finish)
200002703899379、200002703900716、200002703902023。 A user reported that after making 3 purchases on July 8th, they have been unable to initiate new purchases, always receiving a prompt that the item has already been purchased. Upon investigation, we found that the previous transactions couldn't be finalized. We use StoreKit2 and have successfully called await transaction.finish() to end the transactions. However, every time a new payment is initiated, Transaction.unfinished still returns information about the previously completed transactions. Could this be an issue with the device or Apple ID? The user has tried restarting the device and re-logging into their Apple ID, but these attempts were unsuccessful. Is there any way to resolve this? The Apple transaction IDs that the user is unable to finalize are: 200002703899379, 200002703900716, 200002703902023.

“Payment method is not available” message in Sandbox subscription testing (StoreKit 2)
I’m implementing App Store subscriptions using StoreKit 2 and testing in the Sandbox environment. Until about a week ago everything worked fine, but recently the Settings > Subscriptions screen shows this message for my test account: “Your current payment method is not available.” The behavior: • Using a Sandbox tester account (not a production Apple ID) • Purchase flow works successfully — the transaction completes, and I receive server notifications • However, the system Settings app still displays that message under the subscription entry • No code changes were made since it last worked Questions: 1. What exactly does this message mean in the Sandbox environment? 2. Could this be related to any Apple system issue or recent backend update? 3. Has anyone else seen the same behavior in recent days? Environment: • Xcode 15.4 • iOS 17.5 (physical device) • StoreKit 2 / Swift 5.10 • Sandbox tester (Japan region) Thanks in advance for any insights or confirmations from others who are testing subscriptions in Sandbox!

Regression: Heavy Delay of Push Notifications on iOS 18.1 beta (10s and more)
My app one sec uses push notifications to guide the user back to the app from a Screen Time Shield (screenshot attached). On iOS 18.1, notifications are delivered with a delay of 10+ seconds, even though they are classified as time sensitive: notificationContent.interruptionLevel = .timeSensitive notificationContent.relevanceScore = 1.0 The notification trigger is nil, which according to the documentation should show the notification banner immediately: var notificationTrigger: UNTimeIntervalNotificationTrigger? = nil "The condition that causes the system to deliver the notification. Specify nil to deliver the notification right away." In the sysdiagnose I have noticed that activity related to Apple Intelligence Priority classification delays the notification by 10 seconds ("UserNotificationsCore.IntelligenceActor"): [create, [id=43C0-B333, time=2024-09-27 06:03:26, bundle=***.riedel.one-sec], Time elapsed=10.373 sec]: Timeout of 10.0 reached. Cancelling work. [create, [id=43C0-B333, time=2024-09-27 06:03:26, bundle=***.riedel.one-sec], Time elapsed=10.377 sec]: Calling out to completion with failure(UserNotificationsCore.StepFailure.timedOut(exceeded: 10.0 seconds, summaryStatus: Optional(UserNotificationsServices.NotificationSummaryStatus.inferenceTimedOut), priorityStatus: Optional(UserNotificationsServices.NotificationPriorityStatus.inferenceTimedOut))) from 'scheduleTimeoutToPerform(after:for:)' [create, [id=43C0-B333, time=2024-09-27 06:03:26, bundle=***.riedel.one-sec], Time elapsed=10.378 sec]: Step: UserNotificationsCore.IntelligenceActor, index: 0 exceeded 10.0 seconds This seems like a bug to me, time sensitive notifications should be exempted from being analyzed for priority, especially if that comes at the cost of delaying notifications by 10 seconds. Tokens change without reason after updating to iOS 17.5.1
Some of our users encounter an issue after updating their iPhone/iPad to iOS 17.5.1. The tokens passed in the Shield Configuration extension don't match the tokens they selected in my app using the FamilyPicker before updating to iOS 17.5.1. It seems the tokens changed for no reason. My app can't match the token from the ShieldConfigurationDataSource to any tokens stored on my end, causing my shield screens to turn blank. The same applies to tokens in the Device Activity Report extension. The only workaround I've found is to tell affected users to unselect and reselect apps and websites to block in my app. This gets them new tokens from the FamilyActivityPicker, which solves the issue. However, for some users, the bug reoccurs a few days later. Tokens seem to change again, causing the same issue in the Shield Configuration extension. I am not able to reproduce the issue on my test devices so I have no sysdiagnose to attach. However, this issue is affecting other screen time apps: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/732845 https://forums.developer.apple.com/forums/thread/756440 FB14082790 FB14111223 A change in iOS 17.5.1 must have triggered this behaviour. Could an Apple engineer give us any updates on this?

ShieldConfigurationExtension not working
I created a ShieldConfigurationExtension in Xcode 14.3 with File > New > Target > ShieldConfigurationExtension. This created the extension with all the necessary Info.plist values (correct NSExtensionPrincipalClass, etc.), with the extension included in embedded content in the host app target. No matter what I try, the extension is not getting invoked when I shield applications from my host app. The custom UI does not show as the shield, and looking at the debugger, an extension process is never invoked. I am shielding categories like this: let managedSettings = ManagedSettingsStore() ... managedSettings.shield.applicationCategories = .all() And my extension code overrides all the ShieldConfigurationDataSource functions. class ShieldConfigurationExtension: ShieldConfigurationDataSource { override func configuration(shielding application: Application) -> ShieldConfiguration { return ShieldConfiguration( backgroundBlurStyle: UIBlurEffect.Style.systemThickMaterial, backgroundColor: UIColor.white, icon: UIImage(systemName: "stopwatch"), title: ShieldConfiguration.Label(text: "You are in a Present Session", color: .yellow) ) } override func configuration(shielding application: Application, in category: ActivityCategory) -> ShieldConfiguration { return ShieldConfiguration( backgroundBlurStyle: UIBlurEffect.Style.systemThickMaterial, backgroundColor: UIColor.white, icon: UIImage(systemName: "stopwatch"), title: ShieldConfiguration.Label(text: "You are in a Present Session", color: .yellow) ) } override func configuration(shielding webDomain: WebDomain) -> ShieldConfiguration { return ShieldConfiguration( backgroundBlurStyle: UIBlurEffect.Style.systemThickMaterial, backgroundColor: UIColor.white, icon: UIImage(systemName: "stopwatch"), title: ShieldConfiguration.Label(text: "You are in a Present Session", color: .yellow) ) } override func configuration(shielding webDomain: WebDomain, in category: ActivityCategory) -> ShieldConfiguration { return ShieldConfiguration( backgroundBlurStyle: UIBlurEffect.Style.systemThickMaterial, backgroundColor: UIColor.white, icon: UIImage(systemName: "stopwatch"), title: ShieldConfiguration.Label(text: "You are in a Present Session", color: .yellow) ) } } What am I missing?

SwiftData ModelContext Fetch Crashing
I'm currently using Xcode 16 Beta (16A5171c) and I'm getting a crash whenever I attempt to fetch using my ModelContext in my SwiftUI video using the environment I'm getting a crash specifically on iOS 18 simulators. I've opened up a feedback FB13831520 but it's worth noting that I can run the code I'll explain in detail below on iOS 17+ simulator and devices just fine. I'm getting the following crash: *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: 'The specified URI is not a valid Core Data URI: x-coredata:///MyApp/XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX' It's almost as if on iOS18 SwiftData is unable to find the file on the simulator to perform CRUD operations. All I'm doing in my project is simply fetching data using the modelContext. func contains(_ model: MyModel, in context: ModelContext) -> Bool { let objId = palette.persistentModelID let fetchDesc = FetchDescriptor<MyModel>(predicate: #Predicate { $0.persistentModelID == objId }) let itemCount = try? context.fetchCount(fetchDesc) return itemCount != 0 }
