when we test in app purchase feature in TestFlight, we realize that TestFlight using our real iCloud account in AppStore, but because the app installed from TestFlight, they know it is still "Testing Phase" so they purchase set to FREE.
Now im asking about how to test in app purchase for CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION?
I can't found in my real iCloud account, either for my sandbox account inside AppStore settings.

I'm trying to put a sub menu inside the context menu using the NSExtensionFileProviderActions in info.plist. Which should look like this image below
I have been trying to use FPUIActionExtensionViewController for doing this task but I havent got any context menu like above. But still doing that does seem to complicate the task more.
Is there a simpler way to do this task, like doing it within the info.plist so I dont have to complicate the task by creating a view controller. ?

I'm adding a new widget using the new WidgetConfigurationIntent which takes a number of parameters, including one which conforms to AppEntity. It is defined as an optional.
When the user is configuring the widget, after one of the suggested entities is chosen, there is no way to return to a state where this value is nil. Is this possible? I'd like the user to be able to select "None" for this parameter. For now, I'm using a bool to determine whether the AppEntity parameter is used.

I am creating a barcode reader using the AVfoundation framework for iOS and IPadOS. The read result goes into payloadstringvalue, but I want to check the control characters contained in the symbol, so I am using the raw data of the description, which is a property of NSObjectProtocol inherited by VNBarcodeObservation. However, I noticed that if the length set in the raw data exceeds 26, some of the raw data in the description is omitted. So my question is, is it possible to set it so that all the raw data in the description is written out without omitting any raw data? If so, could you please tell me how to set this up? Also, if you know of any other way to extract the raw barcode data, I would appreciate it if you could let me know.

We are currently experiencing a very interesting issue when accessing the location in the background with CLLocationManager.
The user has given our app the "whenInUse" permission for locations and in most cases the app provides location updates even when it's in the background.
However, when we started to use other navigation apps in the foreground we saw that the func locationManager(_ manager: CLLocationManager, didFailWithError error: Error) method was called with (kCLErrorDomain error 1.).
The user hasn't changed the location permission and we saw that locations were delivered once the user opened the app again.
I don't see anything in the documentation explaining this issue, but I chatted with other developers that confirm that specific behavior.
Am I missing something here?

Sorry in advance, this is going to be a long post of Apple developer pains which I want to share with you, and, hopefully, find the answer and help Apple become better.
I'm at the very beginning of my new and exciting personal project which (I hope) may one day feed me and be my daily source of inspiration. I'm not a newbie in Apple development nor am I a senior-level developer — just a fellow developa'.
Here's the problem I bring to you — why Apple promotes Unified Logging System and recommends using it as the primary way to implement logging in 3rd-party apps? No doubt, OSLog is a great, secure, efficient, and centralized way to gather diagnostics information, and I, starting my new project, am itching to choose exactly this 1st-party logging infrastructure. This decision in theory has a number of benefits:
I don't have to depend on 3rd-party logging frameworks which may eventually be discontinued;
I have extensive documentation, great WWDC sessions explaining how to use the framework, and stackoverflow answers from the whole Apple dev community in case I experience any troubles;
I have this cool Console.app and upcoming Xcode 15 tools with great visualization and filtering of my logs;
It's quite a robust and stable infrastructure which I may restfully rely on.
But... the thing is there's this big elephant in the room — this API is non-customizable, inconvenient, and hard to use in terms of the app architecture. I can't write my own protocol wrapper around it to abstract my domain logic from implementation details or just simplify the usage at the call site. I can't configure my own format for log messages (this is debatable, since Console.app doesn't provide "naked strings" as Xcode 14 and earlier, but still). And what's most important — I can't conveniently retrieve the logs!
I can't implement the functionality where my user just taps the button, and the logs are sent on the background queue to my support email (eskimo's answer). They would have to go through this monstrous procedure of holding volume buttons on the iPhone, connecting their device to the Mac, gathering sysdiagnose, entering some weird Terminal commands (jeez, these nerdy developers...), etc. If it ever succeeds, of course, and something doesn't go wrong, leaving my user angry and dissatisfied with my app.
Regarding the protocol wrapper, I can't do something like this:

I've been investigating this topic for 2 days, and it's the farthest I want to go in beating my head over how to do two simple things:
How to isolate logging framework implementation decision from my main code and write convenience wrappers?
How to easily transfer the log files from the user to the developer?
And I'm not the only one struggling. Maybe, I've misperceived this framework and it's not the tool I'm searching for? Maybe, it focuses on different aspects of logging, e.g. signposting, rather than logging the current state of the app? What am I missing?

I'm trying to add badges to files in my File Provider Extension for macOS. I'm not trying to create my own Item decorations here, but use the default Icons provided by apple (such as com.apple.icon-decoration.badge.heart , com.apple.icon-decoration.badge.pinned). I've gone through the Sample code provided by Apple for Fruit Basket.
I've tried to replicate the same thing in my Extension as well but It seems I'm unable to display Icons. I'm not even getting any Error when the Icons are not being displayed, So I've been stuck for a month on this.

I was expecting to see badges on the File items in Finder, but i got nothing. When I modified the FruitBasket Project to do the same i was able to see badges, but not when I try to implement it in my Extension.
Was I missing a step or is the issue something else ?
My app features two kinds of widgets, let's call them kind A and kind B.
I have both A and B widgets on my Home Screen. When I tap the button on widget A (associated with App Intent), I expect widget B to also reload.
However, if you call WidgetCenter.shared.reloadAllTimelines() inside the perform() method of the AppIntent, the timeline of widget B does not reload immediately. This issue only occurs on a physical device and is not consistently reproducible. On a simulator, however, widget B reloads as expected.

Hi all, I'm working on a really basic counter app as a way to explore SwiftData and have come across some behavior that I don't understand. I have a very simple App Intent that increments a user-specified counter in my app. The intent doesn't throw any errors and correctly updates the CoreData store but, when I switch back to my app from the Shortcuts app (where I'm testing the app intent), the view hasn't updated. Closing and re-opening the app shows the incremented counter value but I'd like to know if it's possible to have my app's UI update when the CoreData store is updated from outside the app without relaunching the whole app.

I am developing a FileProvider extension which will be launched for one or more domains. In the case where I have two domains, say with displayNames "Foo" and "Bar", the finder will then show "MyExtension - Foo" and "MyExtension - Bar" respectively after registering them with addDomain.
However, if I only have a single domain, let's say "Foo" – then I just see "MyExtension" rather than "MyExtension - Foo". Now ideally I'd like to be able to control the entire name, but barring that at least be able to show the displayName even with a single domain. How can I achieve that?
I created a Notification Service Extension to display profile images in place for the app image (i.e. iMessage).
I send a remote push notification via Firebase Functions, and in the payload, the relevant profile image url string. The profile image url string in the payload is successfully delivered as it appears in my console log and AppDelegate didReceiveRemoteNotification function.
My problem is the profile image does not replace the default app icon image in the remote push notification.

This is my first time posting here. I'm working on small projects on Swift and SwiftUI now and then. I'm currently trying to develop an application that gets some bus arrival data using API and displaying them with live activities. The thing is that I'm not quite sure how frequently updates work yet. Still trying to figure out if I can update the live activity everytime the data coming right from the API changes or use push notification updates each minute passing by, but that is another thread that I'm going to focus with more details.
Everytime i'm trying to deploy my app on my iphone or a simulator this error keeps popping up and I can't figure out why.

Hello everyone,
I have been working on a macOS app that utilizes push notifications for the past year. Up until recently, everything was functioning correctly. However, now I'm experiencing issues where push notifications are either not being delivered at all or are experiencing significant delays, sometimes up to 10 minutes. Setting the priority header to 10 hasn't made any difference. I am currently using development push notifications, but the issue persists when switching to the production environment.
I'm curious if anyone else has encountered similar problems. When checking the push console, it frequently reports that the device is offline, even though it's actually online ("discarded as device was offline"). Occasionally, notifications are delivered promptly, but this is becoming increasingly infrequent.
This issue has been consistently reported by our testers, particularly after they updated to macOS Sonoma. Any insights or assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
