CallKit UI with speaker button is not functional - Only speaker mode is enabled
An issue with the CallKit UI, specifically regarding the functionality of the speaker button. When a user initiates a video call with CallKit and then, using the existing CallKit session, initiates an audio call, there are no issues with CallKit or the audio. However, if the user terminates the video call from the CallKit UI, the active CallKit session ends. To resume the ongoing audio call, we report a new CallKit call upon the end call trigger. While there are no issues with this reporting, the CallKit UI does not provide an audio route for the built-in receiver, and the speaker button remains unresponsive. IPA was build on SDK 18 and running on iOS beta 26. Issue is NOT seen with SDK18 and running iOS 18.x or lower devices. Feedback - FB18855566

iOS App Crashes after install but not when running from Xcode
I have an odd issue I'm trying to troubleshoot. I have an app that is deployed to our enterprise and works on almost all of our devices. Lately, I have devices (very small number) where the app installs from our MDM and it crashes upon launch, it does not get past the launch screen. If I remove and reinstall the app from the MDM it still crashes. I decided to put the devices in developer mode and if I run the App from Xcode on the device it works fine. If I stop it and run it right from the device it also works. If I do a final build of the app and install it using "Devices and Simulators", the app crashes upon launch. Using "Devices and Simulators" I check for crash log for the app and no file. I am stumped as to whats going on.

Unable to find Slider/UISlider neutralValue
An WWDC 25 a neutral value was demonstrated that allows the Slider to be 'coloured in' from the point of the neutral value to the current thumb position. Trying to use this in Dev release 1 I get errors saying no such modifier. Was this functionality released in Dev Release 1 or am I using it incorrectly?

UserDefaults.didChangeNotification not firing
Hi, I'm currently working on an app made originally for iOS 15. On it, I add an observer on viewDidLoad function of my ViewController to listen for changes on the UserDefault values for connection settings. NotificationCenter.default.addObserver(self, selector: #selector(settingsChanged), name: UserDefaults.didChangeNotification, object: nil) Said values can only be modified on the app's section from System Settings. Thing is, up to iOS 17, the notification fired as expected, but starting from iOS 18, the notification doesn't seem to be sent by the OS. Is there anything I should change in my observer, or any other technique to listen for the describe event? Thanks in advance.

I don't want black background in presented sheet
I want a different color, one from my asset catalog, as the background of my first ever swift UI view (and, well, swift, the rest of the app is still obj.c) I've tried putting the color everywhere, but it does't take. I tried with just .red, too to make sure it wasn't me. Does anyone know where I can put a color call that will actually run? Black looks very out of place in my happy app. I spent a lot of time making a custom dark palette. TIA KT @State private var viewModel = ViewModel() @State private var showAddSheet = false var body: some View { ZStack { Color.myCuteBg .ignoresSafeArea(.all) NavigationStack { content .navigationBarTitleDisplayMode(.inline) .toolbar { ToolbarItem(placement: .principal) { Image("cute.image") .font(.system(size: 30)) .foregroundColor(.beigeTitle) } } } .background(Color.myCuteBg) .presentationBackground(.myCuteBg) .sheet(isPresented: $showAddSheet) { AddView() } .environment(viewModel) .onAppear { viewModel.fetchStuff() } } .tint(.cuteColor) } @ViewBuilder var content: some View { if viewModel.list.isEmpty && viewModel.anotherlist.isEmpty { ContentUnavailableView( "No Content", image: "stop", description: Text("Add something here by tapping the + button.") ) } else { contentList } } var contentList: some View { blah blah blah } } First I tried the background, then the presentation background, and finally the Zstack. I hope this is fixed because it's actually fun to build scrollable content and text with swiftUI and I'd been avoiding it for years.

preferredTransition not working when using setViewControllers(_:animated:)
I’m using the new preferredTransition = .zoom(...) API introduced in iOS 18. Here’s a simplified version of what I do on app startup: let listVC = CollectionViewController(collectionViewLayout: layout) let detailVC = DetailViewController() detailVC.preferredTransition = .zoom(sourceViewProvider: { context in let indexPath = IndexPath(row: 0, section: 0) let cell = listVC.collectionView.cellForItem(at: indexPath) return cell }) let nav = UINavigationController() nav.setViewControllers([listVC, detailVC], animated: false) window?.rootViewController = nav window?.makeKeyAndVisible() This is meant to restore the UI state from a previous session — the app should launch directly into the DetailViewController. The Problem When I launch the app with setViewControllers([listVC, detailVC], animated: false), the transition from listVC to detailVC appears correctly (i.e., no animation, as intended), but the drag-to-dismiss gesture does not work. The back button appears, and tapping it correctly triggers the zoom-out transition back to the cell, so the preferredTransition = .zoom(...) itself is properly configured. Interestingly, if I delay the push with a DispatchQueue.main.async and instead do: nav.setViewControllers([listVC], animated: false) DispatchQueue.main.async { nav.pushViewController(detailVC, animated: true) } …then everything works perfectly — including the interactive swipe-to-dismiss gesture — but that introduces an unwanted visual artifact: the user briefly sees the listVC, and then it pushes to detailVC, which I’m trying to avoid. My Question Is there a way to enable the swipe-to-dismiss gesture when using setViewControllers([listVC, detailVC], animated: false) It can be very confusing for users if swipe-to-dismiss only works in certain cases inconsistently. Thanks

Expected behavior of searchDomains
Based on https://developer.apple.com/documentation/networkextension/nednssettings/searchdomains , we expect the values mentioned in searchDomains to be appended to a single label DNS query. However, we are not seeing this behavior. We have a packetTunnelProvider VPN, where we set searchDomains to a dns suffix (for ex: test.com) and we set matchDomains to applications and suffix (for ex: abc.com and test.com) . When a user tries to access https://myapp , we expect to see a DNS query packet for myapp.test.com . However, this is not happening when matchDomainsNoSearch is set to true. https://developer.apple.com/documentation/networkextension/nednssettings/matchdomainsnosearch When matchDomainsNoSearch is set to false, we see dns queries for myapp.test.com and myapp.abc.com. What is the expected behavior of searchDomains?

List rows partially obscured by navigation bar briefly render fully opaque when switching tabs (iOS 26)
Overview In iOS 26, a List embedded in a NavigationStack inside a TabView exhibits a visual glitch when switching tabs. When the list is scrolled such that some rows are partially obscured by the navigation bar, the system correctly applies a fade/opacity effect to those rows. However, if the user switches to another tab while rows are in this partially obscured (faded) state, those rows briefly flash at full opacity during the tab transition before disappearing. This flash is visually distracting and appears to be inconsistent with the intended scroll-edge opacity behavior. The issue occurs only for rows partially obscured by the navigation bar. Rows partially obscured by the tab bar do not exhibit this flashing behavior. Steps to Reproduce: Run the attached minimal reproduction on iOS 26. Open the first tab. Scroll the list so that some rows are partially hidden behind the navigation bar (showing the native faded appearance). While rows are in this partially faded state, switch to the second tab. Observe that the faded rows briefly render fully opaque during the tab switch. Expected Behavior: Rows that are partially obscured by the navigation bar should maintain consistent opacity behavior during tab transitions, without flashing to full opacity. import SwiftUI @main struct NavBarReproApp: App { /// Minimal repro for iOS 26: /// - TabView with two tabs /// - First tab: NavigationStack + List /// - Scroll so some rows are partially behind the nav bar (faded) /// - Switch tabs: those partially-faded rows briefly flash fully opaque. Partially faded rows under the tab bar do not flash private let items = Array(0..<200).map { "Row \($0)" } var body: some Scene { WindowGroup { TabView { NavigationStack { List { ForEach(items, id: \.self) { item in Text(item) } } .navigationTitle("One") .navigationBarTitleDisplayMode(.inline) } .tabItem { Label("One", systemImage: "1.circle") } NavigationStack { Text("Second tab") .navigationTitle("Two") .navigationBarTitleDisplayMode(.inline) } .tabItem { Label("Two", systemImage: "2.circle") } } } } }

Insight into BaseBoard/FrontBoardServices Crashes Needed
We're seeing a sharp uptick in BaseBoard/FrontBoardServices crashes since we migrated from UIApplicationDelegate to UIWindowSceneDelegate. Having exhausted everything on my end short of reverse engineering BaseBoard or making changes without being able to know if they work, I need help. I think all I need to get unstuck is an answer to these questions, if possible: What does -[BSSettings initWithSettings:] enumerate over? If I know what's being enumerated, I'll know what to look for in our app. What triggers FrontBoardServices to do this update? If I can reproduce the crash--or at least better understand when it may happen--I will be better able to fix it Here's two similar stack traces: App_(iOS)-crashreport-07-30-2025_1040-0600-redacted.crash App_(iOS)-crashreport-07-30-2025_1045-0600-redacted.crash Since these are private trameworks, there is no documentation or information on their behavior that I can find. There are other forum posts regarding this crash, on here and on other sites. However, I did not find any that shed any insight on the cause or conditions of the crash. Additionally, this is on iPhone, not macOS, and not iPad. This post is different, because I'm asking specific questions that can be answered by someone with familiarity on how these internal frameworks work. I'm not asking for help debugging my application, though I'd gladly take any suggestions/tips! Here's the long version, in case anyone finds it useful: In our application, we have seen a sharp rise in crashes in BaseBoard and FrontBoardServices, which are internal iOS frameworks, since we migrated our app to use UIWindowSceneDelegate. We were using exclusively UIApplicationDelegate before. The stack traces haven't proven very useful yet, because we haven't been able to reproduce the crashes ourselves. Upon searching online, we have learned that Baseboard/Frontsoardservices are probably copying scene settings upon something in the scene changing. Based on our crash reports, we know that most of our users are on an iPhone, not an iPad or macOS, so we can rule out split screen or window resizing. Our app is locked to portrait as well, so we can also rule out orientation changes. And considering the stack trace is in the middle of an objc_retain_x2 call, which is itself inside of a collection enumeration, we are assuming that whatever is being enumerated probably was changed or deallocated during enumeration. Sometimes it's objc_retain_x2, and sometimes it's a release call. And sometimes it's a completely different stack trace, but still within BaseBoard/FrontBoardServices. I suspect these all share the same cause. Because it's thread 0 that crashed, we know that BaseBoard/FrontBoardServices were running on the main thread, which means that for this crash to occur, something might be changing on a background thread. This is what leads me to suspect a race condition. There are many places in our app where we accidentally update the UI from a background thread. We've fixed many of them, but I'm sure there are more. Our app is large. Because of this, I think background UI are the most likely cause. However, since I can't reproduce the crash, and because none of our stack traces clearly show UI updates happening on another thread at the same time, I am not certain. And here's the stack trace inline, in case the attachments expire or search engines can't read them: Thread 0 name: Thread 0 Crashed: objc_retain_x2 (libobjc.A.dylib) BSIntegerMapEnumerateWithBlock (BaseBoard) -[BSSettings initWithSettings:] (BaseBoard) -[BSKeyedSettings initWithSettings:] (BaseBoard) -[FBSSettings _settings:] (FrontBoardServices) -[FBSSettings _settings] (FrontBoardServices) -[FBSSettingsDiff applyToMutableSettings:] (FrontBoardServices) -[FBSSettingsDiff settingsByApplyingToMutableCopyOfSettings:] (FrontBoardServices) -[FBSSceneSettingsDiff settingsByApplyingToMutableCopyOfSettings:] (FrontBoardServices) -[FBSScene updater:didUpdateSettings:withDiff:transitionContext:completion:] (FrontBoardServices) __94-[FBSWorkspaceScenesClient _queue_updateScene:withSettings:diff:transitionContext:completion:]_block_invoke_2 (FrontBoardServices) -[FBSWorkspace _calloutQueue_executeCalloutFromSource:withBlock:] (FrontBoardServices) __94-[FBSWorkspaceScenesClient _queue_updateScene:withSettings:diff:transitionContext:completion:]_block_invoke.cold.1 (FrontBoardServices) __94-[FBSWorkspaceScenesClient _queue_updateScene:withSettings:diff:transitionContext:completion:]_block_invoke (FrontBoardServices) _dispatch_client_callout (libdispatch.dylib) _dispatch_block_invoke_direct (libdispatch.dylib) __FBSSERIALQUEUE_IS_CALLING_OUT_TO_A_BLOCK__ (FrontBoardServices) -[FBSMainRunLoopSerialQueue _targetQueue_performNextIfPossible] (FrontBoardServices) -[FBSMainRunLoopSerialQueue _performNextFromRunLoopSource] (FrontBoardServices) __CFRUNLOOP_IS_CALLING_OUT_TO_A_SOURCE0_PERFORM_FUNCTION__ (CoreFoundation) __CFRunLoopDoSource0 (CoreFoundation) __CFRunLoopDoSources0 (CoreFoundation) __CFRunLoopRun (CoreFoundation) CFRunLoopRunSpecific (CoreFoundation) GSEventRunModal (GraphicsServices) -[UIApplication _run] (UIKitCore) UIApplicationMain (UIKitCore) (null) (UIKitCore) main (AppDelegate.swift:0) 0x1ab8cbf08 + 0

Can an iOS app programmatically detect if it's built for release or debug?
Is it possible for an iOS app to programmatically detect if its built for TestFlight/App Store distribution versus built for development? The motivation for doing this is so that the app can detect if a push server should send pushes using the Apple production server or the sandbox server - when the app sends the push token to the server, I'd like it to additionally send an indicator to the server so the server knows which of the Apple servers to use. Is there a way to achieve this? TIA

Does URLSession support ticket-based TLS session resumption
My company has a server that supports ticket-based TLS session resumption (per RFC 5077). We have done Wireshark captures that show that our iOS client app, which uses URLSession for REST and WebSocket connections to the server, is not sending the TLS "session_ticket" extension in the Client Hello package that necessary to enable ticket-based resumption with the server. Is it expected that URLSession does not support ticket-based TLS session resumption? If "yes", is there any way to tell URLSession to enable ticket-based session resumption? the lower-level API set_protocol_options_set_tls_tickets_enabled() hints that the overall TLS / HTTP stack on IOS does support ticket-based resumption, but I can't see how to use that low-level API with URLSession. I can provide (lots) more technical details if necessary, but hopefully this is enough context to determine whether ticket-based TLS resumption is supported with URLSession. Any tips / clarifications would be greatly appreciated.

Universal Link
Hello, I'm developing a feature for my app, that allows users to challenge their friends. The friend request functionality is built using Universal Links, but I've run into a significant issue. The Universal Links are correctly deep-linking into the app. However, once the app opens, nothing happens—the friend request acceptance or rejection flow does not occur. This prevents users from completing friend requests and building their friend list. Here are examples of the Universal Links I'm generating: https://www.strike-force.app/invite?type=invite&userID=... https://www.strike-force.app/invite?type=invite&friendRequestID=... https://www.strike-force.app/profile?userID=... I've recently updated my cloudflare-worker.js to serve a paths array of ["*"] in the AASA file, so I believe the links themselves should be valid. Technical Details & Error Logs In the console, I am consistently seeing the following error message: Cannot issue sandbox extension for URL:https://www.strike-force.app/invite?token=7EF1E439-090B-4DF2-BE64-9904F50A3F8B Received port for identifier response: <(null)> with error:Error Domain=RBSServiceErrorDomain Code=1 "Client not entitled" UserInfo={RBSEntitlement=com.apple.runningboard.process-state, NSLocalizedFailureReason=Client not entitled, RBSPermanent=false} elapsedCPUTimeForFrontBoard couldn't generate a task port This error appears to be related to entitlements and process state, but I am not sure if it's the root cause of the Universal Link issue or a separate problem. The 'Client not entitled' error on line 3 has had me chasing down entitlements issues. But, I've added the Associated Domains entitlement with the proper applink URLs and verified this in my Developer Portal. I've regenerated my provisioning profile, manually installed it, and selected/de-selected Automatically Manage Signing. As well I've verified my AASA file and it's correctly being served via HTTPS and returning a 200. curl -i https://strike-force.app/.well-known/apple-app-site-association curl -i https://www.strike-force.app/.well-known/apple-app-site-association I am looking for guidance on why the friend request flow is not being triggered after a successful deep-link and how I can fix the related error. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

NSURLErrorDomain Code=-1003 ... again!
This happens when trying to connect to my development web server. The app works fine when connecting to my production server. The production server has a certificate purchased from a CA. My development web server has a locally generated certificate (from mkcert). I have dragged and dropped the rootCA.pem onto the Simulator, although it doesn't indicate it has been loaded the certificate does appear in the Settings app and is checked to be trusted. I have enabled "App Sandbox" and "Outgoing connections (Client)". I have tested the URL from my local browser which is working fine. What am I missing?
