Active Subscriptions went to 0
Mid January our active subscriptions of our app went to 0 from one day to the other. We have both yearly and monthly subscriptions and hence it should not be 0. we can also see active subscriptions in our user database. anyone else facing this issue? There was another thread from august 2023 that had the same issue but no solution has been posted.

Can't fetch products from App Store connect
I had everything working with Revenue Cat. Then my app got rejected for not loading subscriptions, which was odd because a previous built was rejected for wording on that same paywall. I checked, and realised I suddenly can't fetch products in testFlight either. I can only see products in Xcode using the store kit configuration file. I've found many issues like this online and everybody point to the same solutions (that seem to work for most), but here's what I tried so far: Checked that all my agreements in App Store Connect are active Checked that ids match between Xcode / revenue cat / App Store connect Store kit config file is syncing with App Store Connect correctly I removed revenue cat and used the store kit api directly to fetch products. The array of products is empty in all environments that don't have access to store kit config file. Checked status of all subscriptions (all waiting for review -- as they were when the paywall worked) Nothing seems to work... Any suggestions? Many thanks

Unable to determine app platform for 'Undefined' software type
hi There, I am trying to upload my app which contains the app for watchOS as well as iOS built on Xcode 15.2. I get this error when uploading the ipa using local command from mac as well as using bitrise online tool. [18:57:47]: Making sure the latest version on App Store Connect matches '4.2.0'... [18:57:47]: '4.2.0' is the latest version on App Store Connect [18:57:47]: Uploading binary to App Store Connect [18:57:48]: Going to upload updated app to App Store Connect [18:57:48]: This might take a few minutes. Please don't interrupt the script. [18:57:52]: [altool] 2024-02-27 18:57:52.359 *** Error: Unable to determine app platform for 'Undefined' software type. App Store operation failed. (1194) [18:57:52]: [altool] { [18:57:52]: [altool] NSLocalizedDescription = "Unable to determine app platform for 'Undefined' software type."; [18:57:52]: [altool] NSLocalizedFailureReason = "App Store operation failed."; [18:57:52]: [altool] NSLocalizedRecoverySuggestion = "Unable to determine app platform for 'Undefined' software type."; [18:57:52]: [altool] } This worked fine up until a few days ago but have stopped working since the info.plist changes went live forcing to use only one info.plist for the entire app to manage the bundle version and app version. thanks, -CJ

403 Forbidden when editting advanced App Clip experiences in App Store Connect
For a few days now, we are getting an error page saying "403 Forbidden" when clicking the "Edit Advanced Experience" button for our App in App Store Connect. Also, the cache status for our domains says "Cache status updated on Feb 29, 2024 at 10:49 AM." which is almost a week ago. Are we the only app having this issue, or is it more widespread?

DSA compliance in the EU: How to update address from DUNS?
Apple asked me today to add the compliance information for the Digital Services Act in the EU. I tried to do so, but ran into a major issue here. When I created the developer account many years ago, it was a personal account used by me as a natural person / freelancer in Germany. When I later founded my US company, I converted the existing developer account into a business account for that company. While doing this, I obtained a DUNS number which is linked to the business address in the States (California). However, it seems as if this US address never made it into App Store Connect. It still shows my personal address in Germany, which is not correct. I cannot modify it either. The address page says that I have to update it at DUNS. However, in their system, everything is ok. The problem seems to be related to the transfer of the address data between DUNS and App Store Connect. I opened up a ticket in the DUNS system, but I need to publish a new version of our app soon. So I am wondering if there is a faster way to get this resolved somehow?

Step-by-step instructions on how to send an app to external testers with TestFlight in 2024?
New Apple Developer here, I've built my first iOS app in Xcode and wants to get it onto some friends' iPhones to do some external testing and give me some feedback. I've read the Apple Developer documentation on how to use TestFlight, but it's not understandable since step 1 is entering information about the app in App Store Connect and step 2 is uploading the app to App Store Connect? Can someone please write some easy step-by-step directions on how to get an iOS app from Xcode onto external testers' iPhones for a first-timer in 2024? Thank you so much!

Unable to get phone number verification code for EU DSA compliance
Good day, I'm trying to resolve the EU "Digital Services Act" compliance for my employer's Apple Developer account, but I'm stuck on verifying the phone number. The email verification code came through without any issue. We are located in South Africa, with a "+27" area code and the number I need to use here is a landline that comes through to the receptionist at our head office. This number does not have the ability to receive text messages, so I selected the "Didn't get a verification code?" link and chose the receive a phone call instead, however the call never comes through. Calling the number from my cellphone goes straight through to the receptionist, there are no digital switchboard prompts for the caller to select from. I tried this numerous times this Friday just past, and again twice now today, still no luck. I've requested an official document from my manager to see if I can go that route to verify the details, but so far nobody seems to be able to find an appropriate document for me to use... :( Is there anything else that I can do here?

How do subscription promotional offers work for currently subscribed customers?
Hello, I'm trying to understand what happens when a subscribed customer of a subscription A purchases a promotional offer for the same subscription A. Let's say the product is a yearly subscription priced at $100. When the month 7 starts (6 months remaining in the regular subscription period), I send the user a promotional offer for the same product but priced at $25 for the first year (100$ afterwards) and he accepts the offer. Is the promotional offer started only at the end of the current year (after the 6 remaining months) or is it started immediately and he gets a pro-rata refund for the 6 remaining months? Thanks.

Are Deep Links on Custom Product Pages working?
I created a new Custom Product Page with a Deep Link, according to the WWDC '24 session "What's new in App Store Connect", and everything has been approved, but the Deep Link does not appear to be working. Is this feature fully operational yet? When the app is installed via this product page, the user should be directed to a specific page in the app, however this does not happen. It does work properly when installing directly via the Deep Link This is the link to the product page: https://apps.apple.com/app/bills-to-budget/id1636872963?ppid=ff079a93-be32-43fe-a88e-ad97a68ff725

Subscription Unavailable - Strange Behavior with StoreKit
I added my first subscription to my app using StoreKit's SubscriptionStoreView. Everything worked as expected in the debug environment and also in TestFlight. So I submitted my app and subscriptions to App Store Connect, got everything Approved and released. After updating my app through App Store and checking the Subscription View, it just says "Subscription Unavailable. The subscription is unavailable in the current storefront." I waited around 3 days and still getting the same message. Now the very strange behavior starts. I went to App Store Connect, I made and edit to the subscription description, saved, removed the edit, saved, and submitted to review. 15 minutes later the subscriptions appear in my app and everything works as expected. After getting the edit approved, the Subscription View in my app again only showed the message "Subscription Unavailable. The subscription is unavailable in the current storefront." No user is able to see the subscriptions anymore, even though it worked as expected before the edit was approved. So I did the same as before. Again, make an edit to the subscription description, save, remove the edit, save, submit to review. 15 minutes later the subscriptions are again available in my app and it works as expected. This is definitely not the expected behavior and submitting the subscription edits every day is wasting the App Review Team's time as well as mine. I contacted Apple Developer Support but I didn't get any reply back (at least yet). I am not the only one experiencing this. I found a friend online who has the exact same issue, and is able to temporarily solve it by making an edit to the subscription description as well. So far it has been a huge headache, and we are losing customers this way. Please if anyone has experience with this problem, or has any suggestions, they will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much, Tomas

“Account Not In This Store” error when trying to purchase non-consumable IAP within TestFlight
I have simple non-consumable IAPs set up for an app on macOS. Testing in development with a local .storekit configuration file, everything works as expected. Testing in development with a remote Sandbox, everything also seems to work fine. Product names and prices fetch correctly, I am able to make purchases with a Sandbox account (both US and UK). Once I upload a build into TestFlight, IAPs no longer work. The tester would download the Beta app from TestFlight. They open a license manager and can see all the product names, descriptions and prices are pulled from Apple servers correctly (with the correct local currency as well!). So far so good. When trying to purchase any of the IAP, the following error appears: This is TestFlight so testers are using their real Apple ID. My understanding is that they should continue using their production credentials and a TestFlight Sandbox would be configured behind the scenes automatically. This error always says the users cannot purchase from a US store and must switch to [whatever user’s actual store location is] store. For example, my account is based in the UK, has got a UK billing address and a UK payment method, and the error tells me to switch to the UK store. People in Canada get a similar error - you must switch from the US store to Canadian. The error makes no sense, the account is already in the desired country. Clicking on the “Change Store” button opens the App Store app and displays another error: “Cannot Connect to App Store”. Clicking Retry just results in this errors showing again and again. Clicking OK takes us back to the failed IAP purchase and the final error message appears: “Purchase Error - Unable to Complete Request”. Things I’ve done / checked: IAPs are configured in App Store Connect and available for all regions prices are set for all regions in App Store Connect IAP name and description localisation in English (UK) IAP status is Ready to Submit, I don’t think I can go past that unless I make a production release (which I can’t until we fix the problem) IAP capabilities added in xcode the problem is not account, machine, or location dependent - every beta tester testing my app on TestFlight has the same issue, they each use a different account and have accounts in different countries double checked the App Store account location in the App Store settings - it is definitely matching the store this error is asking to switch to application exits at startup with error 173 if app receipt cannot be found - this one was suggested by the review team, I could not really find any documentation for it review team also suggested I should add com.apple.security.network.client to enable IAP connectivity. I did add that to one of the builds and it did not help. I am not really convinced this is necessary Any suggestions on what to check and what to try? I have run out of ideas.

Cannot upload lower build number after higher build submission is approved
We encountered a weird situation recently. Our daily build process upload an app with a daily incremental 4-digit build number, e.g. 4000, 4001, 4002, etc. Our release build number has a specific requirement to use the date, such as 20240719. In the past I have learned that in order to upload a new build for the same version number, the new build number needs to be greater than the old one. Thus, if I have uploaded 200.1.0 (20240719), I cannot upload 200.1.0 (4001) anymore, because the daily build's build number is smaller than the release build. I have to expire the 20240719 build in order for the daily build to continue, which is fine. The problem is, yesterday I submitted 200.1.0 (20240719) for App Store review then got approved. While today's daily build is 200.2.0 (4001) and when it is uploaded, it got rejected for the following error message: This bundle is invalid. The value for key CFBundleVersion [4001] in the Info.plist file must contain a higher version than that of the previously uploaded version [20240719]. Please find more information about CFBundleVersion at https://developer.apple.com/documentation/bundleresources/information_property_list/cfbundleversion With error code STATE_ERROR.VALIDATION_ERROR.90061 for id [redacted] Asset validation failed (-19208) This befuddles me, because the 20240719 build submitted for review is in an older release version, while the daily build 4001 is using the newer release version number. It seems that TestFlight decided to compare build numbers while ignoring the version numbers?! Furthermore, after I canceled my approved submission for 200.1.0 (20240719), surprisingly the 200.2.0 (4001) can be uploaded without an error! 😲 It seems that the only factor is whether the build is submitted or not. If an older version number higher build (200.1.0 (20240719)) is not submitted, then TestFlight happily allows newer version number lower build (200.2.0 (4001)) to be uploaded. In contrast, if submitted, then 4001 is not allowed to be uploaded! Is it an expected behavior? Thank you for the patience.

Localization Glitch
I've mentioned this before but I don't think it's getting seen by a department that can deal with it. I think it may be a Connect issue. I have localizations in multiple languages. They are all created the same way. In that the images are the same as the default language. I tried to rely on icons rather than text wherever possible to keep language from being a limiting factor. Since releasing the app, I've tried a few ways to advertise it. One being ASA (Apple Search Ads) Basic. It accepts all my localizations except for Brazil. Even accepts Portugal. When I email ASA tech support, I get generic sounding replies that are some variation of "add localization for Brazil and then the ads will start running". They do seem to acknowledge the text localization is there but seem to believe the images are not. This despite sending a screen cap. They do not attempt to explain why Brazil needs special treatment from all other localizations or why this isn't indicated in App Store Connect. I assume they are saying that despite the images already being there, I need to copy them to the Brazil localization anyway for some unknown reason. This article indicates Brazil is a new addition to ASA for this year. This makes me suspect it may have a glitch. I intended to only advertise in a few markets to start. Which didn't include Brazil initially. But ASA Basic isn't spending at all. On second attempt, it did net five downloads the first day and then hasn't had once since. This made me suspect one glitch may be causing another. Or maybe it is unrelated and advertising costs are just insane. Still, I think it's a possible glitch worth investigating.

Xcode 16 warning about missing symbols of static framework
I work on an SDK, and one of the ways we distribute it is as a pre-compiled static XCFramework. As far as I know, it’s the nature of a static framework to not contain symbols since the framework will be embedded in the final app binary, and the symbols should then be generated. However, when testing the "Validate" function of the Xcode 16 deployment process, our users are receiving a warning that says the framework does not contain symbols. Is my assumption about static frameworks and symbols incorrect? Could this be a bug in Xcode 16? Should we modify something in our framework to inform Xcode that symbols are not needed?

Account Holder of Apple Developer Enterprise Program Account Unable to Request Access To or See App Store Connect API
We are referring to the following Apple documentation online- specifically the instructions underneath the header "Request access to the App Store Connect API": https://developer.apple.com/help/app-store-connect/get-started/app-store-connect-api/ The first problem is that the Account Holder cannot see the "Integrations" tab in the "Users and Access" view (https://appstoreconnect.apple.com/access/users). However, they are able to reach "Integrations" by direct URL (https://appstoreconnect.apple.com/access/integrations/). Note that they still cannot see an "Integrations" tab in the UI when at this link. At this point, the documentation indicates that the Account Holder should be able to see an "App Store Connect API" option underneath the "Keys" options on the left, but they are only able to see a "Shared Secret" option underneath the "Keys" options on the left. Please assist- this is blocking Production releases for us. Additional info: we use Edge browser on Windows machines to access the web portal- I don't see how this should impact what a website displays though the Developer Account has existed for some years now. At a certain point the Account Owner role was transferred over to the current Account Owner I have confirmed that the Program type is Apple Developer Enterprise Program

My account "Pending Termination Notice"
I have developed several apps out of interest, and if everyone likes my app, I plan to truly become an independent developer. I used a name and icon similar to the existing app in the hope of gaining more app exposure. The App Store reviewer found an issue and gave me a 'Pending Termination Notice'. My account will be deleted within 30 days. I finally realized that this was an extremely foolish practice that undermined my integrity. After receiving the notification, I immediately responded through the appeal channel and admitted my mistake. I have already removed my app from App Store Connect, even though it hasn't been officially launched yet. I am determined not to make similar mistakes again and to become an excellent independent developer. There is another question that I am quite puzzled about. My application is considered to be: “Evidence of Dishonest or Fraudulent Activity App submissions from your account have engaged in concept or feature switch schemes to evade the review process, such as dynamically populating different app content after review, submitting apps with hidden features, repeatedly submitting misleading apps, and/or submitting apps with concrete references to content that you are not authorized to provide or is otherwise not appropriate for the App Store. “ I am a browser application that uses SwiftUI to write programs without using any third-party SDKs. I also did not attempt to evade the review. If the APP reviewer needs it, I can provide my source code. As a browser application, how can I avoid similar misunderstandings in the future? What I hope to get help with now: Will my appeal really be seen by the review committee? When can I expect to see a reply? I refresh my emails more than ten times a day to see if there are any new messages. Can my account still be restored? Otherwise, my developer dream would suffer a major setback. This audit has made me fully aware. The App Store is a high-quality platform, a rigorous platform, and any attempt to take shortcuts is not allowed. If my account can really be restored, I will be so happy that I can fly up. However, how should I resubmit my browser application and provide sufficient explanation to avoid being misunderstood and evading censorship? Thank you all for watching.

App Clips Advanced Experiences not showing up in Apple Maps and Siri Suggestions
Hello everyone, I’m experiencing an issue with App Clips Advanced Experiences and Apple Maps/Siri Suggestions. We have already contacted Apple Support before, but they are investigating the cause of this issue and it has not been resolved til date. The App Clip is bundled with the main app and has been already available on the App Store for several months. The business running the app has several physical shops and wants to offer the App Clip to show up in Apple Maps and Siri Suggestions at each location. The App Clip is correctly exposed in the AASA file, and it's also validated correctly by the AASA APIs available at https://app-site-association.cdn-apple.com/a/v1. { "applinks": { "apps": [], "details": [ { "appID": "TEAMID.bundleid", "paths": [] } ] }, "appclips": { "apps": [ "TEAMID.bundleid.Clip" ] } } (with TEAMID and bundleid being the team and bundle identifiers of the app) The App Clip is displayed correctly when loading the website and when scanning a QR code or App Clip code, but doesn't appear in the Maps app or in Siri suggestions. We have set up the App Clip Advanced Experiences on the App Store Connect page of the app, and each URL has been linked to a physical shop. All URLs are in the "Received" state, so they should appear correctly on Maps. Unfortunately, I don't see any "Order" button in Apple Maps at any location card. We tried with both iOS 17 and 16. According to feedbacks from people in the shops, they don't see the app suggested in the Siri Suggestions. I have just submitted a Custom Action Link on Apple Business Connect for one of the shops, but without success: the App Clip doesn't appear. Any idea why is this happening?
