Icon for some menu items cannot be removed on macOS 26
create a sample XCode project using Objective-C and stroybook (xib) using latest XCode beta open MainMenu.xib, and select Main Menu → File → Print... remove the image like below 4. build it 5. run it on macOS 26 beta 7 6. The menu item "print.." still have "Image" Is there any way to remove image for one menu item. I have also tried NSMenuItem.image = nil, but still not work. The issue I met on my own app is that I cannot remove icons for "Zoom In", "Zoom Out" and many other menu items, which makes the menu items not aligned properly.

Best way to combine new tab bar with floating action button?
I have a floating action button in my app above a toolbar. The action button adds items to my app, so is pretty important and should be easy to reach. Now with the new liquid glass design, I wonder what the best way is to combine those two. Should I use .tabViewBottomAccessory() for that? Though, that will merge down on scroll. 🤔 Or can I replace the search button in the bottom right with my own custom button action?

Getting rejected with: Guideline 4.3(a) - Design - Spam
Hello everyone, I'm stuck here, i have developed an app, and i keep getting from Apple "Guideline 4.3(a) - Design - Spam" - We continue to notice that your app shares a similar binary, metadata, and/or concept as apps submitted to the App Store by other developers, with only minor differences. As i was looking around this seems to be so much an issue now for many people and i don't understand why. My app which is approved in Android already it have an unique design built my own, and the most important the content (in this case futures crypto signals) are created by my own strategy, so it can be no where else found. I literally have no idea what to do next, i don't want to do major changes because i don't believe the app looks similar to any other app and for the reason that its already in Google Play Store i don't want to do major UI design. We would greatly appreciate any valuable advice from fellow developers in the community to help us navigate this challenge and successfully pass the review

App Store Rejection (4.3 – Design Spam) | Plinco - Unique Entertainment App Blocked Without Clear Reason
My app, Plinco, was rejected under App Review Guideline 4.3 – Design Spam, stating that it shares similarities with other apps available on the App Store. However, Plinco is a completely unique entertainment experience, designed with original assets, mechanics, and features. It allows users to customize various elements, including risk levels and configurations, ensuring a personalized and engaging experience. Special features like triple elements and the legendary golden mode introduce an extra layer of excitement and strategy. The app also offers high-quality visuals, immersive sound, and dynamic interactions, making each session feel fresh and unique. I conducted extensive research on the App Store and found no similar apps in the Entertainment category that match Plinco's concept and functionality. My app is built from scratch, without using pre-existing templates or duplicated content. Despite implementing multiple updates to address potential concerns, I have not received specific feedback clarifying the exact issue. I am fully committed to delivering a high-quality and original app and kindly request a more detailed explanation of the rejection, as well as a fair review of my submission. I appreciate your time and consideration.

Squicle app icons on macOS 26
Just posted this feedback regarding macOS 26 "Tahoe" (FB19853155) - please support with additional submissions if you share my view. I will miss the beautiful and individual designed icons of the past! "macOS 26 is enforcing squicles for app icons, falling back to a grey background for 3rd party apps without a compliant AppIcon asset. As a result many original app icons are reduced in size and hard to distinguish because they share the same background color. Although I respect Apple's strive for an iOS-like UI on Macs, a smooth transition path would be more user- and developer-friendly ... e.g. with some info.plist property to opt-out icon migration, potentially ignored by a future macOS version. The current solution causes a bad usability, and makes the system look inconsistent as many - especially free - software will not be updated with new icon designs. Please reconsider this bad design decision!"

Where's the replacement for Quartz Debug?
Hi, This can't be right. Is there really no replacement for Quartz Debug?!? As the sole developer on a project who has an Intel Mac and Quartz Debug, I am basically a god now. Everyone else has Apple Silicon and... I think they're randomly guessing at this point. Because I have entire teams sending me Intel Mac builds of stuff just so I can test it in QD. This is THE TOOL we used at NewTek to find performance issues, and THE TOOL I used for a dozen companies after that, to help them with similar issues. If there's no replacement, is there a reason there's no replacement? This feels like a massive step backwards, having to guess at problems like this. -Chilton

Fous, FocusState and Architecture
I am currently struggling with resolving what appear to be competing design issues, and (while I may be just demonstrating my own ignorance) I would like to share my thoughts in the hope that you may have useful insights. For purposes of discussion, consider a large and complex data entry screen with multiple sections for input. For all of the usual reasons (such as reuse, performance management, etc) each of these sections is implemented as its own, separately-compiled View. The screen is, then, composed of a sequence of reusable components. However, each of these components has internal structure and may contain multiple focusable elements (and internal use of .onKeyPress(.tab) {...} to navigate internally). And the logic of each component is such that it has an internal @FocusState variable defined with its own unique type. So, obviously what I want is on the one hand, to provide a tab-based navigation scheme for the screen as a whole, where focus moves smoothly from one component's internals to the next component, and on the other hand ,to build components that don't know anything about each other and have no cross-component dependencies, so that they can be freely reused in different situations. And that's where I'm stuck. Since focus state variables for different components can have different types, a single over-arching FocusState passed (as a binding) to each component doesn't seem possible or workable. But I don't know how else to approach this issue. (Note: in UIKit, I've done things like this by direct manipulation of the Responder Chain, but I don't see how to apply this type of thinking to SwiftUI.) Thoughts?

How do you make buttons inline with each other?
I want to make my buttons inline with each other, but spaced apart, a bit like the apple topbar BUT in swift. My code: struct NormalPageView: View { var body: some View { VStack { NavigationView { Form { Section { Image(systemName: "house.fill") Spacer() Image(systemName: "plus") Spacer() Image(systemName: "gearshape.fill") } } }

New to macOS Development. How Do I Build a Timeline Editor UI Like Logic Pro?
Hi everyone, I’m new to macOS development and working on an app idea that needs a timeline-based editor interface, similar to what you see in Logic Pro or Final Cut. The UI I want to build would have: A horizontal beat ruler that follows BPM and shows beat positions Several vertical tracks stacked below it (for things like events or markers) Horizontal zooming and scrolling A preview panel on the right side that stays in sync with the timeline I’m currently trying this in SwiftUI, but I’m running into some limitations and wondering if AppKit would be a better fit, or maybe a hybrid of the two. My questions: Where should I start when building something like this? What’s the best way to make the beat ruler and all track layers scroll together? How should I handle zooming in/out and syncing the display to a BPM timeline? Is there a clean way to integrate AppKit for the timeline view while keeping SwiftUI elsewhere?

Controlling the focus order in a UICollectionView
I'm running into a problem with the focus order in my UICollectionView in my tvOS app. The layout of my app is outlined in the following diagram On the uppermost layer I have a UITableView, each cell containing a single UICollectionView that can contain a variable number of UICollectionViewCells. When the user swipes down, I want the left-most item in the next row down to be selected, as follows: I've been able to get this to work for the majority of cases. The exception is when the previously focused item extends to the length of the screen - in this case the next focused item isn't the leftmost item, but rather the center item, as follows. Using focus guides won't really fit the use case here since collection views are dynamically generated. I've found that there is a function in UICollectionViewDelegate, indexPathForPreferredFocusedView that should help here but it only seems to be called intermittedly, even though I have set remembersLastFocusedIndexPath on the collectionview to true. I can force it to be called by calling setNeedsFocusUpdate() but I can't figure out a good place to call it - shouldUpdateFocus is too early and didUpdateFocus is too late. Is there some way to constrain the focus area of a view to a certain subset of it's frame - for example, the left-most quarter of its width? Or does anyone know of some other solution to this problem?

4.3a Refuses to appeal or seek a solution, and the game production will solve the 4.3a problem for 2 years and be revised for half a year.
Our game was written by Cocos Creator version 3.8.5 ‌TypeScript, which took the team nearly 2 years to complete. At the beginning, my application was not defined as 4.3a. The first four reviews were all normal feedback questions. We revised the questions. After the last review rejected 4.3A, we also suspected that the reasons such as game creativity, game copywriting and game art might be close to other applications. Then our team added functional innovations that other applications in the Apple Store didn't have, and the original art was original. We created new art again because of 4.3a, and also revised many places that may be similar to other developers, including that we removed all SDK modules except Apple Pay and Apple Login, and it also showed that 4.3a refused, and we have revised no less than 20 versions or failed. Our business code except the game engine code is newly developed by us and should not be duplicated with other developers' code. Is it because the JSC file and binary file output by JavaScript code are similar to those of other developers? Can we check our original code? We really want to put it on the Apple Store. We guarantee that the game was originally written. We can provide any proof, including but not limited to (GIT code submission records and codes from the beginning to today, art original proof, proof that the game mode innovation ability is not consistent with other developers' concepts, etc.) Cocos creator Engine Address: https://www.cocos.com/creator-download We have been put on the shelves in app stores such as WeChat applet and Android, and we are deeply loved by users in other channels. Dear audit, can you manually check our game code and look at the game to experience it? I believe that as the greatest technology company in the world, Apple's official staff are very professional, knowledgeable and innovative, so that Apple players can get a unique and high-quality experience. However, this repeated 4.3a refusal makes me very suspicious. So many games that use cocos game engine in the world are on the Apple store, why do we independently write the rest of the code except the game engine? Every time the reason for refusing is this passage, we have revised it for half a year, and no less than 20 game versions have been changed in half a year. Apple Maps annotations and markers
In Apple's Maps app, an annotation is made up of a circle shape or rounded rectangles with a glyph-image. When selecting an annotation, the annotation animates into a balloon marker (see attached GIF). How does Apple Maps solve this - from custom annotation to balloon marker with spring animation? I switched my Maps implementation from SwiftUI to UIKit with a UIViewRepresentable to support annotation clustering - and it works beautifully. But how to subclass an MKAnnotationView (or MKMarkerAnnotationView <- the balloon) to enable selection and animation as in Apple Maps? MKMarkerAnnotationView only show balloon markers and I tried everything inside MKAnnotationView (CALayer, etc.)

Swipe to go back still broken with Zoom navigation transition.
When you use .navigationTransition(.zoom(sourceID: "placeholder", in: placehoder)) for navigation animation, going back using the swipe gesture is still very buggy on IOS26. I know it has been mentioned in other places like here: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/796805?answerId=856846022#856846022 but nothing seems to have been done to fix this issue. Here is a video showing the bug comparing when the back button is used vs swipe to go back: https://imgur.com/a/JgEusRH I wish there was a way to at least disable the swipe back gesture until this bug is fixed.

Detect when tab bar minimizes (.tabBarMinimizeBehavior)
Hi! I'm working on a iOS 26 SwiftUI prototype that adds an element to the content of a screen only when the tab bar is fully visible and not minimized (via .tabBarMinimizeBehavior). Is there any way to detect when a tab bar is minimized? My hope is that I can use a ternary operator to display something only when a boolean is true. Here's some code to illustrate my idea: struct ContentView: View { @State var isTabBarMinimized: Bool = false var body: some View { TabView { Tab("View1", systemImage: "rainbow") { // Only appears when tab bar is fully visible Color.blue .opacity(isTabBarMinimized? 0 : 1 ) } Tab("View2", systemImage: "rainbow") { View2() } Tab("View3", systemImage: "rainbow") { View3() } Tab("View4", systemImage: "rainbow") { View4() } } .tabBarMinimizeBehavior(.onScrollDown) } }

Apple Music iOS 26 features in Android
Since many users like me use Apple Music on Android, the app is almost as feature-rich as iOS. It would be fantastic if the developers could add the new iOS 26 features to the Android app, along with a minor UI change. I know it’s challenging to implement liquid glass on Android hardware or design, but features like auto-mix, pronunciation, and translation could be added. kindly consider this request !!!!
