My Objective-C Catalyst app when built with Xcode 16.x/iOS 18 does not have a visible Tab Bar when run on Sequoia. App starts up in first tab, but there is no way to access other tabs. The same app when run on macOS Sonoma (or macOS Catalina) has a normal Tab Bar. The app has an initial View UITabBarController with 3 tabs. The main tab is a UiSplitViewController. Minimum macOS deployment 10.5. If app is built on Sonoma with Xcode 15.x/iOS 17 the Tab Bar is normal on macOS Sonoma, Sequoia, and Catalina. We have noticed that in iOS 16 or greater , the Smart App Banner which shows based on meta tag added is not showing the app ratings inside the popup. Can we override this new behavior to show ratings and custom text.

Is this setup possible / have a solution: There is a .xcframework F, which uses a 3rd party library, lets call it L. There is an app which uses the xcframework The app also uses L Both the app and F use SPM to integrate L F is using L for its own internal purposes. F is providing some functionality to the app. How it implements that ideally should be a black box from the app's perspective. The app also happens to use L for its own purposes. I can't get this set up working, always get warnings about duplicate symbols when running the App. This will presumably be due to the fact there are separate copies of L in both F and A. So how can that be eliminated? Can F not statically like to L and use the App's version of L at runtime? If so how can Xcode be configured so that F can actually compile? Or vice versa - can the App not statically link in its own copy of L and use that in the framework? If so, similar questions, how to configure Xcode to set this up? I can't believe this is an obscure use case, yet after days of searching and reading documentation I can't find any solution. Note that I was able to get this going when the app and the framework used Cocoapods to integrate L, but I just can't do similarly if the use of Cocoapods is replaced with SMP. When using cocoapods, within the frameworks Xcode section, the pods framework is set to Do Not Embed. This is probably the vital difference between the working Cocoapods implementation and the not working SPM solution. However, when using SPM Xcode doesn't present any option to either embed nor not embed the dependency. Why not? Can it somehow be set to not embed?

I have an app that was written in UIKit. It's too large, and it would be much too time consuming at this point to convert it to SwiftUI. I want to incorporate the new limited contacts into this app. The way it's currently written everything works fine except for showing the limited contacts in the contact picker. I have downloaded and gone though the Apple tutorial app but I'm having trouble thinking it through into UIKit. After a couple of hours I decided I need help. I understand I need to pull the contact IDs of the contacts that are in the limited contacts list. Not sure how to do that or how to get it to display in the picker. I'm working on the control widget which should display the SF image on the UI, but I have found that it cannot be displayed stably. Hello, I had submitted a question to clarify which components have accessibility APIs that trigger haptics for VoiceOver users https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/773182. The question stems from perhaps a more direct question about specific components: do tablists and disclosures natively intend to include haptics or screen reader hint or other state or properties to indicate to screen reader users where the component begins or ends? In some web experiences there are screen reader hint text stating "end of..." or "entering" as a way to define the boundaries of these inline dialogs. I had asked about haptics in the prior thread because I do not recall natively implemented version of this except in some haptic cues but have not experienced them consistently so I am not sure if that is an intended native Swift implementation or perhaps something custom.

As we described on the title, the model that I have built completely works on iPhone 15 / A16 Bionic, on the other hand it does not run on iPhone 16 / A18 chip with the following error message. After that, only on iPhone 16, the above error is shown on the Xcode log, the memory consumption is surged to 5 to 6GB, and the system kills the app. It works well only on iPhone 15. This model is built with the Core ML tools. Until now, I have tried the target iOS 16 to 18 and the compute units of CPU_AND_NE and ALL. But any ways have not solved this issue. Here’s what I’m seeing in code: payment.token // Returns something like: <PKPaymentToken: 0x28080ae80; transactionIdentifier: "..."; paymentData: 3780 bytes> payment.token.paymentData // Contains 3780 bytes of encrypted data payment.token.paymentData.base64EncodedString() // Returns a long base64 string, which at first glance seems like it could be used for apple_data, // but PayFort doesn't accept it as-is — so this value appears to be incomplete or incorrectly formatted I can successfully retrieve the following values from payment.token.paymentMethod: apple_displayName apple_network apple_type However, I’m still unsure how to extract or build the following in the format accepted by PayFort: apple_data apple_signature apple_header apple_transactionId apple_ephemeralPublicKey apple_publicKeyHash apple_paymentMethod These may be contained within the paymentData JSON, but I’m not sure how to decode it or if Apple allows decrypting it in a way that matches PayFort’s expected format. How can I correctly extract or build apple_data, apple_signature, and apple_header from the Apple Pay token? Also, how should I handle the decryption or decoding (if necessary) of paymentData to retrieve values like apple_transactionId, apple_ephemeralPublicKey, and apple_publicKeyHash? Hi. I am writing a little MDM application. Despite the basic task (add a password for 'remove profile' button in settings), it seems I am stuck with a problem: When I try to enroll my device with enrollment.mobileconfig file, Apple Configurator app, I receive an error The profile “Enrollment Profile” could not be installed because it is invalid. Make sure the profile is valid and try installing it again. The original architecture of my .mobileconfig contains of two payloads (com.apple.security.scep , com.apple.mdm), and it works correctly. However, when I try to add a third payload of com.apple.profileRemovalPassword , I receive the error stated above. From logs collected on iPhone, here's what was found : Failed to parse profile data. Error: NSError: Desc : The profile “Enrollment Profile” is invalid. Sugg : A profile containing an MDM payload must be removable. US Desc: The profile “Enrollment Profile” is invalid. US Sugg: A profile containing an MDM payload must be removable. Several important notes: Creating a fresh new profile with just password removal protection single payload allows to perform a download of the profile If I comment out the whole com.apple.mdm payload block, I will be able to download this profile on iPhone also The com.apple.mdm block is also valid by itself, and works correctly I have tried implementing other types of "dummy" payloads - for example com.apple.dock <dict> <key>PayloadType</key> <string>com.apple.dock</string> <key>PayloadVersion</key> <integer>1</integer> <key>PayloadIdentifier</key> <string>com.example.test.dock</string> <key>PayloadUUID</key> <string>22222222-3333-4444-5555-666666666666</string> <key>PersistentApps</key> <array/> </dict> And everything worked out fine. So my hypothetical conclusion out of these four notes might be in some type of interconnection between mdm and profileRemovalPassword, which isn't really listed anywhere? Or am I missing something ? I'm trying to load a Safari Extension onto my physical iPhone 15 running iOS 18.4 but am seeing the following message: "iOS 18.4 is not installed." When I click the Get button I see that the download has failed with the following error message. I tried updating my laptop to Sequoia and I also deleted and re-installed Xcode but that didn't fix it. Any thoughts? Download failed. Please update Accessibility OS Settings for VoiceOver in iPhone iOS and iPadOS to include frames on the Rotor, and to make web navigation and component gestures easier to find and assign. Please add content to the iPhone and iPad Apple User Guide to use VoiceOver in web navigation with touch gestures. Specifically... iframes. There is no clear guidance in Apple documentation for VoiceOver users in iPhone or iPadOS to access iframes with touch gestures. A common belief as written on AppleVis, other blogs, and internet searches is that iframes in Safari or a webView in an app are only available with explore by touch. If explore by touch is the only option for some interactions, that needs to be included in Apple User Guides. If not, details on equivalent touch gestures for VO that have keyboard interactions in Mac need to be clear for users. VoiceOver for Mac includes a default keyboard interaction of VO-Command-F in its extensive User Guide (https://support.apple.com/guide/voiceover/by-images-or-frames-mchlp2740/mac). A user can include a rotor option for web navigation for iframes. VoiceOver for iPhone and iPad does not include a default swipe gesture assigned to frames. An option is not available for the Rotor. While there is iPhone User Guide guidance that gestures can be customized (https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/customize-gestures-and-keyboard-shortcuts-iph59a8e6fd2/18.0/ios/18.0), it is not clear that for adding this gesture, "Move to the next frame" is tucked into the advanced navigation commands for VoiceOver Accessibility Settings in the OS. At least in my phone, the word "frame" was not searchable despite the All Commands screen using a search bar.

My application targets iOS 15+. Attempting to build and run it on my iPhone SE (orphaned at iOS 15.6) results in "Failed to prepare the device for development." I'm building with Xcode 15.2. What is the expected procedure here?
