Glitching parts of screen since update to iOS 26 Developer Beta
As the title states, and it’s extremely frustrating. The floating bar that now appears above the keyboard is cool compared to the built in bar, though it seems to only work when it feels like it. Also the screen seems to have a haze around it, sometimes I cannot read whats needed because of it being blurred and it won’t allow me to navigate to certain things due to the haze being there too. Any way of rolling back my update and going back to my previous iOS?

Locale.Script seems to be returning a value even though the language has no script
We just dropped support for iOS 16 in our app and migrated to the new properties on Locale to extract the language code, region, and script. However, after doing this we are seeing an issue where the script property is returning a value when the language has no script. Here is the initializer that we are using to populate the values. The identifier is coming from the preferredLanguages property that is found on Locale. init?(identifier: String) { let locale = Locale(identifier: identifier) guard let languageCode = locale.language.languageCode?.identifier else { return nil } language = languageCode region = locale.region?.identifier script = locale.language.script?.identifier } Whenever I inspect locale.language I see all of the correct values. However, when I inspect locale.language.script directly it is always returning Latn as the value. If I inspect the deprecated locale.scriptCode property it will return nil as expected. Here is an example from the debugger for en-AU. I also see the same for other languages such as en-AE, pt-BR. Since the language components show the script as nil, then I would expect locale.language.script?.identifier to also return nil.

Is it possible to animate the accessibility frame on iOS and macOS?
Say I have a UI element that moves on the screen. Is it possible to update its accessibility frame as it moves while VoiceOver is focused on it? From my tests, VoiceOver ignores UIAccessibilityLayoutChangedNotification if it's sent repeatedly in a short period of time on iOS, while sending NSAccessibilityLayoutChangedNotification on macOS triggers VoiceOver to reannounce the focused element repeatedly.

CoreData CloudKit Sync not working between iOs and MacOS
Hi All, I work on a cross platform app, iOS/macOS. All devises on iOS could synchronize data from Coredata : I create a client, I see him an all iOS devices. But when I test on macOs (with TestFlight) the Mac app could not get any information from iOs devices. On Mac, cloud drive is working because I could download and upload documents and share it between all devices, so the account is working but with my App on MacOS, there is no synchronisation. idea????

accessibilityRespondsToUserInteraction return true on Simulator but false on device
I am seeing a strange issue where NSObject accessibilityRespondsToUserInteraction returns true on Simulator but false on device. Checking the same object on simulator with Accessibility inspector I see the object traits as image so why would it return true in that case? Are there any other way to check the the item might be accessibilityRespondsToUserInteraction OR Clickable beside that property and traits? (Or is it just another bug)

debugDescription missing from UIToolbar
Starting from iOS 26 simulator (beta 7), I could not see any debugDescription from UIToolbar. The Accessibility Inspector tool could not see anything beneath the toolbar even if we can see elements like static texts and buttons on the simulator. When the same app is run on an iOS 18.2 simulator, the debugDescription for elements under a UIToolbar is available. Is the absence of debugDescription for UIToolbar a bug?

How can you have a framework which uses a 3rd party dependency and an app that uses the framework and also the same dependency?
Is this setup possible / have a solution: There is a .xcframework F, which uses a 3rd party library, lets call it L. There is an app which uses the xcframework The app also uses L Both the app and F use SPM to integrate L F is using L for its own internal purposes. F is providing some functionality to the app. How it implements that ideally should be a black box from the app's perspective. The app also happens to use L for its own purposes. I can't get this set up working, always get warnings about duplicate symbols when running the App. This will presumably be due to the fact there are separate copies of L in both F and A. So how can that be eliminated? Can F not statically like to L and use the App's version of L at runtime? If so how can Xcode be configured so that F can actually compile? Or vice versa - can the App not statically link in its own copy of L and use that in the framework? If so, similar questions, how to configure Xcode to set this up? I can't believe this is an obscure use case, yet after days of searching and reading documentation I can't find any solution. Note that I was able to get this going when the app and the framework used Cocoapods to integrate L, but I just can't do similarly if the use of Cocoapods is replaced with SMP. When using cocoapods, within the frameworks Xcode section, the pods framework is set to Do Not Embed. This is probably the vital difference between the working Cocoapods implementation and the not working SPM solution. However, when using SPM Xcode doesn't present any option to either embed nor not embed the dependency. Why not? Can it somehow be set to not embed?

Cannot Play mp3 File via AudioContext in iOS 18 Safari
I have a Safari extension that plays audio via the javascript AudioContext API. It was working fine under iOS 17 and is now broken under iOS 18. It does not play audio at all. I've tried in both the iOS 18 public beta and the iOS 18.1 developer beta. It is broken in both of them. I've also created Feedback item FB15170620 which has a url attached to a page I created which demonstrates the issue.

Default dialer abilities & limitations
I've been trying to understand what kind of UX is available if my app is using the default-dialer capability. I have found https://developer.apple.com/documentation/livecommunicationkit/preparing-your-app-to-be-the-default-dialer-app and I am in the EU. On android I built the UX I want and it's quite neat, so now I'm trying to work. out what I can get on iOS. Because the product is kind of worthless with just android. I have built a simple dialer ux with a numberpad, contact lookup etc. Then when the user presses the Call button does it have to pop up the system prompt "Call number"? Does it have to swap over to the system ui for the actual call? So there's no way to show information about the call, during the call? Or am I using the frameworks incorrectly? I am very new to iOS development. TrueCaller and others show validation, but as I understand it they pre-fetch all the data, I can't do that.

UIInputView not being deallocated
I am experiencing memory leaks in my iOS app that seem to be related to an issue between UIInputView and _UIInputViewContent. After using the memory graph, I'm seeing that instances of these objects aren't being deallocated properly. The UIInputViewController whichs holds the inputView is being deallocated properly along with its subviews.I have tried to remove all of UIInputViewController's subviews and their functions but the uiInputView is not being deallocated. The current setup of my app is a collectionView with multiple cells, each possessing a textfield with holds a UIInputViewController. When i scroll up or down, the views are being reused as expected and the number of UIInputViewController stays consistent with the number of textfields. However the number of inputView keeps increasing referencing solely _UIInputViewContent. class KeyboardViewController: UIInputViewController { // Callbacks var key1: ((String) -> Void)? var key2: (() -> Void)? var key3: (() -> Void)? var key4: (() -> Void)? private lazy var buttonTitles = [ ["1", "2", "3"], ["4", "5", "6"], ["7", "8", "9"] ] override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() setupKeyboard() } lazy var mainStackView: UIStackView = { let mainStackView = UIStackView() mainStackView.axis = .vertical mainStackView.distribution = .fillEqually mainStackView.spacing = 16 mainStackView.translatesAutoresizingMaskIntoConstraints = false return mainStackView }() private func setupKeyboard() { let keyboardView = UIView(frame:CGRect(x: 0, y: 0, width: UIScreen.main.bounds.width, height: 279.0)) keyboardView.addSubview(mainStackView) NSLayoutConstraint.activate([ mainStackView.topAnchor.constraint(equalTo: keyboardView.topAnchor, constant: 16), mainStackView.leadingAnchor.constraint(equalTo: keyboardView.leadingAnchor, constant: 0), mainStackView.trailingAnchor.constraint(equalTo: keyboardView.trailingAnchor, constant: -24), mainStackView.bottomAnchor.constraint(equalTo: keyboardView.bottomAnchor, constant: -35) ]) // Create rows for (_, _) in buttonTitles.enumerated() { let rowStackView = UIStackView() rowStackView.axis = .horizontal rowStackView.distribution = .fillEqually rowStackView.spacing = 1 // Create buttons for each row for title in rowTitles { let button = createButton(title: title) rowStackView.addArrangedSubview(button) } mainStackView.addArrangedSubview(rowStackView) } self.view = keyboardView } private func createButton(title: String) -> UIButton { switch title { ///returns a uibutton based on title } } // MARK: - Button Actions @objc private func numberTapped(_ sender: UIButton) { if let number = sender.title(for: .normal) { key1?(number) } } @objc private func key2Called() { key2?() } @objc private func key3Called() { key3?() } @objc private func key4Called() { key4?() } deinit { // Clear any strong references key1 = nil key2 = nil key3 = nil key4 = nil for subview in mainStackView.arrangedSubviews { if let stackView = subview as? UIStackView { for button in stackView.arrangedSubviews { (button as? UIButton)?.removeTarget(self, action: nil, for: .allEvents) } } } mainStackView.removeFromSuperview() } } Environment iOS 16.3 Xcode 18.3.1 Any insights would be greatly appreciated as this is causing noticeable memory growth in my app over time.

Feedback on the new Camera app icon in iOS 26
I’m currently using the iOS 26 Developer Beta and noticed the new icon design for the Camera app. Personally, I preferred the previous icon it looked cleaner, more elegant, and felt more in line with Apple’s signature iOS design language. The new icon feels more like something you’d expect from Android. It lacks the minimalist, refined style that usually defines iOS icons. I understand UI evolves over time, but this change feels like a step away from what makes Apple’s design philosophy unique. Just wanted to share this honest feedback as a long-time user and developer. Thanks for considering!

Unable to Find Local Network Devices in Simulator – Permission Issue on M4 Mac, macOS 15.5, Xcode 16.1
Hello, I'm running into an issue while developing an iOS app that requires local network access. I’m using the latest MacBook Air M4 with macOS sequoia 15.5 and Xcode 16.1. In the iOS Simulator, my app fails to discover devices connected to the same local network. I’ve already added the necessary key to the Info.plist: NSLocalNetworkUsageDescription This app needs access to local network devices. When I run the app on a real device and M2 Chip Macbook's simulators, it works fine for local network permission as expected. However, in the M4 Chip Macbook's Simulator: The app can’t find any devices on the local network Bonjour/mDNS seems not to be working as well I’ve tried the following without success: Restarting Simulator and Mac Resetting network settings in Simulator Confirming app permissions under System Settings > Privacy & Security Has anyone else encountered this issue with the new Xcode/macOS combo? Is local network access just broken in the Simulator for now, or is there a workaround? Thanks in advance!

How to keep bottom toolbar pinned, when sheet's detent are changed in code
I am trying to add a pinned(always visible and not moving) toolbar to the bottom of UISheetPresentationController or presentationDetent. This is achievable when the user is dragging to change the size of the sheet. But when changing the detent by code, it does not work. For example, when changing from medium to large, the ViewController's size is changed to large then moved up to the position. From the user's POV, anything at the bottom to disappear for a few frames then reappears. From my testing, when using UISheetPresentationController, ViewController only knows the medium and large state's frame and bounds, so manually setting it up won't work. Is there a way to keep views at the bottom always visible in this case? The sample code below is in SwiftUI for easy recreation, and the responses can be in UIKit. Sample Code: struct ContentView: View { @State var showSheet: Bool = true @State var detent: PresentationDetent = .medium var body: some View { EmptyView() .sheet(isPresented: $showSheet) { ScrollView { } .safeAreaInset(edge: .bottom) { Button { detent = (detent == .medium) ? .large : .medium } label: { Text("Change Size") } .buttonStyle(.borderedProminent) .presentationDetents([.medium, .large], selection: $detent) .presentationBackgroundInteraction(.enabled) } } } }

Is there an API to check if a Core ML compiled model is already cached?
Hello Apple Developer Community, I'm investigating Core ML model loading behavior and noticed that even when the compiled model path remains unchanged after an APP update, the first run still triggers an "uncached load" process. This seems to impact user experience with unnecessary delays. Question: Does Core ML provide any public API to check whether a compiled model (from a specific .mlmodelc path) is already cached in the system? If such API exists, we'd like to use it for pre-loading decision logic - only perform background pre-load when the model isn't cached. Has anyone encountered similar scenarios or found official solutions? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

IOS 26 carshed my IPhone 14pro Display
Immediately after installing iOS 26 on my iPhone 14 Pro, my phone display stopped working. It's not responding to touch, but I can see it charging. It also wakes the screen whenever I pick it up, but it's not touching at all. What do I do, or do I have to downgrade?

If such API exists, we'd like to use it for pre-loading decision logic - only perform background pre-load when the model isn't cached. Has anyone encountered similar scenarios or found official solutions? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

iOS 17: location permissions keeps changing on its own
I set the location permission to Always but it changes back to “when shared” after a few days. Is this a bug?
