NSLog doesn't work on iOS 26 when the app is installed from TestFlight
I've noticed that NSLog() doesn't do anything on iOS 26 when an app is downloaded from TestFlight. I've got an app uploaded with a liberal sprinkling of NSLog lines in it for debugging purposes - if I download that onto an iOS 18 devices, and use Apple Configurator's console or the Mac's console app, then the logging output is verbose and as expected. But if I download that same app onto an iOS 26 handset, there's nothing. Logging is visible in the Xcode console, however sometimes there are situations where you need console logging with a TestFlight build. What happened? Was this an intentional change? Why. This is a major hindrance in diagnosing issues / bugs etc.

How to install newer beta 26 SDKs into older Xcode 26 Betas?
Hello, It seems Xcode 26 beta is lagging the OS releases, which is fine. However, how does one install a Beta N + 1 or N + 2 SDK into the older Xcode beta? I'd like to use iOS 26 Beta 8 from the Xcode 26 Beta 6 install I have. I have tried Settings/Components and Devices & Simulators but nothing Beta 7 nor 8 shows up there. Thanks! -- Greg Bolsinga

Having an issues viewing application on testflight after successfully sending it to app store connect with eas
Hello, Im having an issue seeing my application appear in in testflight. as soon as i run the command eas submit - p ios --latest it completes and says Your binary has been successfully uploaded to App Store Connect! It is now being processed by Apple - you will receive an email when the processing finishes. It usually takes about 5-10 minutes depending on how busy Apple servers are. When it's done, you can see your build here: the app sometimes flashes on the screen in testflight then is gone forever This is an expo react native application.... I was able to submit builds but all of a sudden this started occuring.

Default dialer abilities & limitations
I've been trying to understand what kind of UX is available if my app is using the default-dialer capability. I have found https://developer.apple.com/documentation/livecommunicationkit/preparing-your-app-to-be-the-default-dialer-app and I am in the EU. On android I built the UX I want and it's quite neat, so now I'm trying to work. out what I can get on iOS. Because the product is kind of worthless with just android. I have built a simple dialer ux with a numberpad, contact lookup etc. Then when the user presses the Call button does it have to pop up the system prompt "Call number"? Does it have to swap over to the system ui for the actual call? So there's no way to show information about the call, during the call? Or am I using the frameworks incorrectly? I am very new to iOS development. TrueCaller and others show validation, but as I understand it they pre-fetch all the data, I can't do that.

Call Blocking (CallKit) not working on iOS 26 Public Beta
Call blocking using a third-party CallKit app is not longer working with the latest iOS 26 Public Beta (23A5297m). We've tried several different Call Blocking apps (that used to work fine on iOS 18.5) and their call blocking functionality is not working anymore. All calls pass through and the phone rings on those "blocked" numbers. We got several user complaints about our app that is not working on iOS 26 Public Beta. We've filed 2 bug reports with Feedback Assistant: FB19140680 FB19140594 Please fix this issue in the next Beta versions of iOS 26 to have a stable iOS 26 release in the future. Thank you in advance.

iOS 26, bottom UIToolbar not extending behind safe area to screen edge
An app with a UIToolbar pinned to the bottom of a view controllers view extends to the screen edge (behind the safe area) when run on iOS 18.X but not iOS 26. This UIToolbar is set as constrained to the safeAreaLayoutGuide with the following constraints. self.view.addConstraints([ bottomToolbar.leadingAnchor.constraint(equalTo: self.view.leadingAnchor), bottomToolbar.trailingAnchor.constraint(equalTo: self.view.trailingAnchor), bottomToolbar.bottomAnchor.constraint(equalTo: self.view.safeAreaLayoutGuide.bottomAnchor), bottomToolbar.heightAnchor.constraint(greaterThanOrEqualToConstant: 44.0) ]) This is especially noticeable when the UIToolbar background color differs from the view background color. This occurs on iOS 26 beta 6, app built with Xcode 26 beta 5. I've posted a Feedback FB19664903 including a minimal Xcode workspace that reproduces this issue. Anyone suggestions would be appreciated ... this definitely seems like a regression.

What is the best way to retrieve data from a server
Hello, I am new to App development, so I am looking for some advice. I want to develop an app for iPhone, which downloads files (pdf, jpg)from a server to the local storage. I also want to get data from the server to be used in my app. This could be a database access or just simple xml files. I want a secure access based on userid and password. Since in a later version, my app should also run on Android Phones, I am reluctant to use iCloud. I was thinking sftp, but that does not seem to be supported for iOS.

Feedback a iOS26 bug, iOS reset UITableViewCell.contentView
Hi all, Recently, I received feedback from users that the cell of UITableView will be enlarged when clicked on the iOS26 system. After positioning, it was found that the iOS26 system has reset the frame of the contentView so that its width is always the screen width. The following Demo can reproduce this problem. Does anyone have this problem? Is there a solution? Thanks Run and click on the cell to see the problem http://www.yangshuang.net/TestProject.zip

iOS 26 UIBarButtonItems in navigation bar flashing wrong background during push/pop
An iOS app has a UINavigationController with a UINavigationBar that is non-translucent (e.g. black). When performing a push (or pop) to navigate to or from another UIViewController the UIBarButtonItems on the navigation bar are flashing a white background. With a dark navigation bar this is very noticeable and not desirable. This only occurs when run on iOS 26 and is related to Liquid Glass I've created FB19660024 with a minimal Xcode workspace to reproduce, along with a video showing the behavior. This is a cosmetic bug, not affecting functionality, but is a very undesirable effect on apps with dark and non-translucent navigation bars. Has anyone else seen this and found a workaround?

Automatic App Icon Style Change in iOS 26
After updating from iOS 18 to iOS 26, our app icon appears to have automatically received the new 'Liquid Glass' effect. We confirmed that this change occurred without us releasing a new app update. My questions are: Is this a system behavior where iOS 26 automatically applies the new icon style to existing apps? If so, is it possible for a developer to control or customize this effect? I am also wondering if there are any methods other than using Icon Composer.

CallKit UI with speaker button is not functional - Only speaker mode is enabled
An issue with the CallKit UI, specifically regarding the functionality of the speaker button. When a user initiates a video call with CallKit and then, using the existing CallKit session, initiates an audio call, there are no issues with CallKit or the audio. However, if the user terminates the video call from the CallKit UI, the active CallKit session ends. To resume the ongoing audio call, we report a new CallKit call upon the end call trigger. While there are no issues with this reporting, the CallKit UI does not provide an audio route for the built-in receiver, and the speaker button remains unresponsive. IPA was build on SDK 18 and running on iOS beta 26. Issue is NOT seen with SDK18 and running iOS 18.x or lower devices. Feedback - FB18855566

Display segmented control in iOS 26 with the previous rounded rectangle style
The default style for a segmented picker in iOS 26 is now a capsule shape. Is it possible to get back the previous rounded rectangle shape? In SwiftUI I have tried using the clipShape, containerShape, and background modifiers, applying a RoundedRectangle shape with a corner radius, to no avail. In UIKit I have tried to adjust the corner configuration for the UISegmentedControl, also to no avail. Am I missing something really obvious or is it impossible to change the style here? 🤔

Search Bar Should Be at the Top (Consistency Matters)
In iOS 18 betas, the App Store search bar has been moved to the bottom of the screen. This breaks years of usability and is inconsistent with Apple’s own apps—Calendar, Reminders, Maps, Safari, Files, Wallet, and Shortcuts—all of which keep search at the top. I (and many others) hold the phone in one hand and tap with the other. Top placement is faster, more natural, and aligns with established Apple design. The “thumb reach” argument does not fit real-world usage for a large portion of users. What I want is consistency across all Apple apps: put the search bar at the top everywhere. Apple already made this mistake with Safari’s bottom address bar in iOS 15 and had to add a toggle after backlash. Please don’t repeat history. Feedback ID: FB19598638 If you agree, please follow your own feedback and reference this thread. The more reports Apple sees, the more likely this gets fixed.

App crashes on start in TestFlight
Hi, I have a .NET MAUI app running on .NET 9. When I test locally in debug or release mode it works perfectly fine, but when testing from TestFlight it crashes almost immediately every time. I have sent the crash report to TestFlight and produced the symbolicated.crash file (attached), but I'm not sure it's helpful for understanding how to fix the issue. If anyone can help me understand what the issue might be and any possible fixes it'd be very much appreciated. I'm developing using Visual Studio 2022 paired to my Mac. I have distributed previously without issue, but now can't seem to, even after reverting recent code. net9.0-ios 15.0 symbolicated.crash

UITabBarController bottom accessory doesn't resize properly when horizontal size class changes from compact to regular
A bottom accessory view is set on the UITabBarController. When changing the window size either by dragging the resizing grip or when going to portrait mode, the accessory view shrinks down to the smaller width. When resizing the window to make it larger, the accessory view doesn’t resize to the full available width. During a workshop setup by Apple, folks from Apple told me that the view set as the content view of the UITabAccessory should not have its frame changed, either by using Auto Layout or by setting the frame. It seems logical since the view in the bottom accessory is supposed to resize accordingly to several factors, like when going inline inside the tab bar. Am I missing something? Maybe there is additional setup required not mentioned in the dedicated video. Feedback is FB19017330. It contains a sample project and videos demonstrating the issue. Reproduced on Xcode 26 beta 6 (17A5305f) I copy and paste the sample code that setups the bottom accessory for good measure. final class MiniPlayer: UIView { let label = UILabel() override init(frame: CGRect) { super.init(frame: frame) label.text = "Mini Player" label.numberOfLines = 0 label.textAlignment = .center addSubview(label) label.translatesAutoresizingMaskIntoConstraints = false NSLayoutConstraint.activate([ label.centerXAnchor.constraint(equalTo: centerXAnchor), label.centerYAnchor.constraint(equalTo: centerYAnchor) ]) } required init?(coder: NSCoder) { fatalError("init(coder:) has not been implemented") } } // MARK: - View Controller class ViewController: UIViewController { let rootTabBarController = UITabBarController() let miniPlayer = MiniPlayer() override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() let items: [UITab] = [ UITab(title: "Tab 1", image: UIImage(systemName: "archivebox.fill"), identifier: "tab-1") { _ in UIViewController() }, UITab(title: "Tab 2", image: UIImage(systemName: "books.vertical.fill"), identifier: "tab-2") { _ in UIViewController() }, UISearchTab { _ in UIViewController() } ] rootTabBarController.tabs = items rootTabBarController.view.backgroundColor = .secondarySystemBackground view.addSubview(rootTabBarController.view) rootTabBarController.view.translatesAutoresizingMaskIntoConstraints = false NSLayoutConstraint.activate([ rootTabBarController.view.leadingAnchor.constraint(equalTo: view.leadingAnchor), rootTabBarController.view.topAnchor.constraint(equalTo: view.topAnchor), rootTabBarController.view.trailingAnchor.constraint(equalTo: view.trailingAnchor), rootTabBarController.view.bottomAnchor.constraint(equalTo: view.bottomAnchor) ]) rootTabBarController.bottomAccessory = UITabAccessory(contentView: miniPlayer) } }

Is iPadOS 18.6.1 available to update?
How can we receive the iPadOS 18.6.1 update on an iPad? We have configured the MDM update days policy to receive recent, but not the latest, iPadOS updates; however, we are only able to get versions 18.6.2 and 18.6. Is the availability of iPadOS updates dependent on the iPad's region? Thank you in advance for your assistance.
