Hi, I can't get into "manage" sandbox account. I either get to a screen to put my password in. Here there is no way to click "next" or "login". (I have tried pressing "enter" on my keyboard to no effect). Or I get directly into "Cannot Connect" page. I have tried this two days in a row. I have tried turning it off and on again. I have tried logging out and in.
Device: iPhone 13 pro max, iOS: 16.0.3 (also tried the version before this)

Hi all,
Apple dropping on-going development for FireWire devices that were supported with the Core Audio driver standard is a catastrophe for a lot of struggling musicians who need to both keep up to date on security updates that come with new OS releases, and continue to utilise their hard earned investments in very expensive and still pristine audio devices that have been reduced to e-waste by Apple's seemingly tone-deaf ignorance in the cries for on-going support.
I have one of said audio devices, and I'd like to keep using it while keeping my 2019 Intel Mac Book Pro up to date with the latest security updates and OS features.
Probably not the first time you gurus have had someone make the logical leap leading to a request for something like this, but I was wondering if it might be somehow possible of shoe-horning the code used in previous versions of Mac OS that allowed the Mac to speak with the audio features of such devices to run inside the Ventura version of the OS.
Would it possible? Would it involve a lot of work? I don't think I'd be the only person willing to pay for a third party application or utility that restored this functionality.
There has to be 100's of thousands of people who would be happy to spare some cash to stop their multi-thousand dollar investment in gear to be so thoughtlessly resigned to the scrap heap.
Any comments or layman-friendly explanations as to why this couldn’t happen would be gratefully received!
Thanks,
em
I'm trying to setup a macOS 26 build environment in a VM (using UTM and the virtualization framework Apple provides).
I have Xcode 26 installed and have logged into my Apple ID and verified that the team and other configuration looks fine in Xcode settings.
When trying to build the macOS app, I see errors saying the VM's device ID has not been registered. I have confirmed that the device ID is registered both in the Provisioning portal AND the downloaded .provisionprofiles (in Library > Developer > Xcode > UserData).
This problem appears on multiple targets (e.g. the main app and extensions).
If I try to manually provision the app, using the Provisioning portal, I can build the product, but it will not launch because of Gatekeeper issues.
Finally, signing to run locally doesn't work either. As the app launches, frameworks refuse to load because Team IDs don't match. With ad hoc provisioning, there are no Team IDs.
I've come to the conclusion that this just isn't possible.
Which is a shame because I need to support products with a build environment on macOS 15 and cannot move over to macOS 26 yet. I suspect many developers outside of Apple are in a similar position.
I am seeking assistance with how to properly handle / save / reuse NWConnections when it comes to the NWBrowser vs NWListener.
Let me give some context surrounding why I am trying to do what I am.
I am building an iOS app that has peer to peer functionality. The design is for a user (for our example the user is Bob) to have N number of devices that have my app installed on it. All these devices are near each other or on the same wifi network. As such I want all the devices to be able to discover each other and automatically connect to each other. For example if Bob had three devices (A, B, C) then A discovers B and C and has a connection to each, B discovers B and C and has a connection to each and finally C discovers A and B and has a connection to each.
In the app there is a concept of a leader and a follower. A leader device issues commands to the follower devices. A follower device just waits for commands. For our example device A is the leader and devices B and C are followers. Any follower device can opt to become a leader. So if Bob taps the “become leader” button on device B - device B sends out a message to all the devices it’s connected to telling them it is becoming the new leader. Device B doesn’t need to do anything but device A needs to set itself as a follower. This detail is to show my need to have everyone connected to everyone.
Please note that I am using .includePeerToPeer = true in my NWParameters. I am using http/3 and QUIC. I am using P12 identity for TLS1.3. I am successfully able to verify certs in sec_protocal_options_set_verify_block. I am able to establish connections - both from the NWBrowser and from NWListener. My issue is that it’s flaky. I found that I have to put a 3 second delay prior to establishing a connection to a peer found by the NWBrowser. I also opted to not save the incoming connection from NWListener. I only save the connection I created from the peer I found in NWBrowser. For this example there is Device X and Device Y. Device X discovers device Y and connects to it and saves the connection. Device Y discovers device X and connects to it and saves the connection. When things work they work great - I am able to send messages back and forth. Device X uses the saved connection to send a message to device Y and device Y uses the saved connection to send a message to device X.
Now here come the questions.
Do I save the connection I create from the peer I discovered from the NWBrowser?
Do I save the connection I get from my NWListener via newConnectionHandler?
And when I save a connection (be it from NWBrowser or NWListener) am I able to reuse it to send data over (ie “i am the new leader command”)?
When my NWBrowser discovers a peer, should I be able to build a connection and connect to it immediately?
I know if I save the connection I create from the peer I discover I am able to send messages with it. I know if I save the connection from NWListener - I am NOT able to send messages with it — but should I be able to?
I have a deterministic algorithm for who makes a connection to who. Each device has an ID - it is a UUID I generate when the app loads - I store it in UserDefaults and the next time I try and fetch it so I’m not generating new UUIDs all the time. I set this deviceID as the name of the NWListener.Service I create. As a result the peer a NWBrowser discovers has the deviceID set as its name. Due to this the NWBrowser is able to determine if it should try and connect to the peer or if it should not because the discovered peer is going to try and connect to it.
So the algorithm above would be great if I could save and use the connection from NWListener to send messages over.
When creating an icon using icon composer, I cant upload a build to testflight/App Store connect.
Running on device from Xcode works fine, but as soon as I archive and upload to App Store Connect, I get an error saying the icon contains an alpha channel
Hi all,
Has anyone else run into this issue in Xcode 26?
I’m logged into my paid ChatGPT Plus account, but the Xcode integration doesn’t seem to recognize the subscription. After a short period of use, I get the following error:
“Over daily limit. ChatGPT in Xcode will be unavailable for up to 24 hours. For higher limits, sign in with a paid ChatGPT account.”
Since I’m already signed in with a paid account, this looks like either a bug or a limitation specific to Xcode.
Is this expected behavior, or has anyone found a workaround to make Xcode properly recognize Plus accounts?
Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Hi,
We've noticed that this issue occurs more frequently after upgrading to iOS 18.4.1 and can result in one-way audio.
Our app uses CallKit with WebRTC to establish VoIP connections.
However, on iOS 18.4.1, CallKit no longer triggers:
func provider(_ provider: CXProvider, didActivate audioSession: AVAudioSession)
We're currently comparing the occurrence rate across different iOS versions to better understand the impact.
Could you please help analyze the root cause of this issue?
I added my first subscription to my app using StoreKit's SubscriptionStoreView. Everything worked as expected in the debug environment and also in TestFlight. So I submitted my app and subscriptions to App Store Connect, got everything Approved and released.
After updating my app through App Store and checking the Subscription View, it just says "Subscription Unavailable. The subscription is unavailable in the current storefront."
I waited around 3 days and still getting the same message. Now the very strange behavior starts. I went to App Store Connect, I made and edit to the subscription description, saved, removed the edit, saved, and submitted to review. 15 minutes later the subscriptions appear in my app and everything works as expected. After getting the edit approved, the Subscription View in my app again only showed the message "Subscription Unavailable. The subscription is unavailable in the current storefront." No user is able to see the subscriptions anymore, even though it worked as expected before the edit was approved.
So I did the same as before. Again, make an edit to the subscription description, save, remove the edit, save, submit to review. 15 minutes later the subscriptions are again available in my app and it works as expected.
This is definitely not the expected behavior and submitting the subscription edits every day is wasting the App Review Team's time as well as mine. I contacted Apple Developer Support but I didn't get any reply back (at least yet).
I am not the only one experiencing this. I found a friend online who has the exact same issue, and is able to temporarily solve it by making an edit to the subscription description as well.
So far it has been a huge headache, and we are losing customers this way. Please if anyone has experience with this problem, or has any suggestions, they will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much,
Tomas

I am able to symbolicate kernel backtraces for addresses that belong to my kext.
Is it possible to symbolicate kernel backtraces for addresses that lie beyond my kext and reference kernel code?

Using Xcode to build and deploy the app to my watch, this is what I get:
“Waiting to reconnect to Apple Watch. Previous preparation error: Transport error." And then “Connecting to Apple Watch. Xcode will continue when the operation completes.”
And these messages continue to switch between each other.
Sometimes the watch to connect and the application starts, but more often a scenario occurs with endless reconnection.
I'm using: MacOS 14.4.1 (MacBook Pro 2019; 1.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5), Xcode 15.3, Watch OS 10.2 (Apple Watch SE 1), iOS 17.1.1 (iPhone 15 Pro).
Methods I tried:
Connecting Macbook, iPhone and Watch to the same WIfi network;
Disabling Watch (and IPhone) from the "Devices and Simulators" menu and setting up Watch (and IPhone) from the beginning.
Any help?
I'm seeing a lot of unexpected CPU usage when running the iOS 26.1 simulator. Looks like a "MercuryPosterExtension" is crashing over and over, which then causes the "ReportCrash" process to run, presumably to create the crash report.
Doesn't happen on device, nor on iOS 26.0 simulator. I suspect MercuryPoster is related to wallpaper. I also don't see any wallpaper background in my simulator.

WorkoutKit WorkoutScheduler seems broken with the first beta of iOS 18.2.
I have tested using my app from Xcode and the one that is on the App Store (and working properly on other devices), and it's not working with this new beta of iOS.
They appears in WorkoutScheduler.shared.scheduledWorkouts, but not on the watch.
I even tried with other apps that do the same with
Manual add to Apple Watch with SwiftUI workoutPreview work.

I just saw another post regarding bookmarks on iOS where an Apple engineer made the following statement:
macOS is better at enforcing the "right" behavior, so code that works there will generally work on iOS.
So I went back to my macOS code to double-check. Sure enough, the following statement:
let bookmark = try url.bookmarkData(options: .withSecurityScope)
fails 100% of the time.
I had seen earlier statements from other DTS Engineers recommending that any use of a URL be bracketed by start/stopAccessingSecurityScopedResource. And that makes a lot of sense. If "start" returns true, then call stop. But if start returns false, then it isn't needed, so don't call stop. No harm, no foul.
But what's confusing is this other, directly-related API where a security-scoped bookmark cannot be created under any circumstances because of the URL itself, some specific way the URL was initially created, and/or manipulated?
So, what I'm asking is if someone could elaborate on what would cause a failure to create a security-scoped bookmark? What kinds of URLs are valid for creation of security-scoped bookmarks? Are there operations on a URL that will then cause a failure to create a security-scoped bookmark? Is it allowed to pass the URL and/or bookmark back and forth between Objective-C and Swift?
I'm developing a new macOS app for release in the Mac App Store. I'm initially getting my URL from an NSOpenPanel. Then I store it in a SQLite database. I may access the URL again, after a restart, or after a year. I have a login item that also needs to read the database and access the URL.
I have additional complications as well, but they don't really matter. Before I get to any of that, I get a whole volume URL from an NSOpen panel in Swift, then, almost immediately, attempt to create a security-scoped bookmark. I cannot. I've tried many different combinations of options and flows of operation, but obviously not all.
I think this started happening with macOS 26, but that doesn't really matter. If this is new behaviour in macOS 26, then I must live with it.
My particular use requires a URL to a whole volume. Because of this, I don't actually seem to need a security-scoped bookmark at all. So I think I might simply get lucky for now.
But this still bothers me. I don't really like being lucky. I'd rather be right. I have other apps in development where this could be a bigger problem. It seems like I will need completely separate URL handling logic based on the type of URL the user selects.
And what of document-scoped URLs? This experience seems to strongly indicate that security-scoped URLs should only ever be document-scoped. I think in some of my debugging efforts I tried document-scoped URLs. They didn't fix the problem, but they seemed to make the entire process more straightforward and transparent. Can a single metadata-hosting file host multiple security-scoped bookmarks? Or should I have a separate one for each bookmark?
But the essence of my question is that this is supposed to be simple operation that, in certain cases, is a guaranteed failure. There are a mind-bogglingly large number of potential options and logic flows. Does there exist a set of options and logic flows for which the user can select a URL, any URL, with the explicit intent to persist it, and that my app can save, share with helper apps, and have it all work normally after restart?
When I submit the app to TestFlight beta review I get the error show on UI. (I filled all filed info in Beta Infomation)
There was an error processing your request. Please try again later

Hi, I'm new to swift programming and right now writing an app for esp8266-controlled lamp device. My lamp is broadcasting it's own IP through bonjour. So all I want is to discover any lamps in my network (http.tcp) and to read name and value. Is there any example of such implementation? All I found so far is old or a lit bit complicated for such simple question. Thanks in advance!
I have an app (currently not released on App Store) which runs on both iOS and macOS. The app has widgets for both iOS and macOS which uses user preference (set in app) into account while showing data. Before upgrading to macOS 15 (until Sonoma) widgets were working fine and app was launching correctly, but after upgrading to macOS 15 Sequoia, every time I launch the app it give popup saying '“Kontest” would like to access data from other apps. Keeping app data separate makes it easier to manage your privacy and security.' and also widgets do not get user preferences and throw the same type of error on Console application when using logging. My App group for both iOS and macOS is 'group.com.xxxxxx.yyyyy'. I am calling it as 'UserDefaults(suiteName: Constants.userDefaultsGroupID)!.bool(forKey: "shouldFetchAllEventsFromCalendar")'. Can anyone tell, what am I doing wrong here?
I have an iOS app that allows user to select a folder (from Files). I want to bookmark that folder and later on (perhaps on a different launch of the app) access the contents of it. Is that scenario supported or not? Can't make it work for some reason (e.g. I'm getting no error from the call to create a bookmark, from a call to resolve the bookmark, the folder URL is not stale, but... startAccessingSecurityScopedResource() is returning false.
I haven’t been able to get this to work at any level! I’m running into multiple issues, any light shed on any of these would be nice:
I can’t implement a bloom filter that produces the same output as can be found in the SimpleURLFilter sample project, after following the textual description of it that’s available in the documentation. No clue what my implementation is doing wrong, and because of the nature of hashing, there is no way to know. Specifically:
The web is full of implementations of FNV-1a and MurmurHash3, and they all produce different hashes for the same input. Can we get the proper hashes for some sample strings, so we know which is the “correct” one?
Similarly, different implementations use different encodings for the strings to hash. Which should we use here?
The formulas for numberOfBits and numberOfHashes give Doubles and assign them to Ints. It seems we should do this conversing by rounding them, is this correct?
Can we get a sample correct value for the combined hash, so we can verify our implementations against it?
Or ignoring all of the above, can we have the actual code instead of a textual description of it? 😓
I managed to get Settings to register my first attempt at this extension in beta 1. Now, in beta 2, any other project (including the sample code) will redirect to Settings, show the Allow/Deny message box, I tap Allow, and then nothing happens. This must be a bug, right?
Whenever I try to enable the only extension that Settings accepted (by setting its isEnabled to true), its status goes to .stopped and the error is, of course, .unknown. How do I debug this?
While the extension is .stopped, ALL URL LOADS are blocked on the device. Is this to be expected? (shouldFailClosed is set to false)
Is there any way to manually reload the bloom filter? My app ships blocklist updates with background push, so it would be wasteful to fetch the filter at a fixed interval. If so, can we opt out of the periodic fetch altogether?
I initially believed the API to be near useless because I didn’t know of its “fuzzy matching” capabilities, which I’ve discovered by accident in a forum post. It’d be nice if those were documented somewhere!
Thanks!!
I have a Core Image filter in my app that uses Metal. I cannot compile it because it complains that the executable tool metal is not available, but I have installed it in Xcode.
If I go to the "Components" section of Xcode Settings, it shows it as downloaded. And if I run the suggested command, it also shows it as installed. Any advice?
